  • Screen Resolution Question VS2008 - C++ CLI

    Hi, I have a program that has a SIZE of 800x600. I want to make this program expand if it is maximized, so that all the elements(buttons, picturebox's) change size to fit the new ratio depending on the users windows screen resolution. The way I am thinking to approach this is to take the users screen resolution and manual change the size of everything, and do this for all common resolutions, if a user has some rare resolution, ill just make it so the maximize/minimize buttons are disabled. But this will be very very time consuming as there are lots of elements in the forms, and their are multiple forms..... Basically, is there a shortcut? Perhaps a built in feature or some kind of add in for VS2008. What are some methods to tackle this issue?

  • Preview for create/edit content doesn't work

    Hi! I'm configuring a DRUPAL site web (that it was previously created) and I'm testing the diferent options. When I create a new content or edit a old content and change anything and then I click on 'Preview' doesn't appear the recent changes (just appear the old values), I have to save it before. NOTE: I do the accions as ROOT (it not a privilege problem). Anyone knows what is happened?

    Hi everybaody, I'm studing C++ and I can't understand the meaning of the boldface sentence below: From IBM manual: The following restrictions apply to constructors and destructors: Constructors and destructors do not have return types nor can they return values. References and pointers cannot be used on constructors and destructors because their addresses cannot be taken. Constructors cannot be declared with the keyword virtual. Constructors and destructors cannot be declared static, const, or volatile. Unions cannot contain class objects that have constructors or destructors. Could you please provide me an example?   • Hadoop write directory

    Simple question but reading through documentation and configuration I can't quite seem to figure it out. How do I A) know where hadoop is writing to on the local disk and B) change that For initial testing I setup HDFS on a 20gb linux VM - to it we've added a 500gb networked drive for moving towards prototyping the full system. So now how do I point HDFS at that drive, or do I simply move the home directory/install with some slight change in setup and restart the process?

    I have DIVs which comes side by side of each other & but there only fourth DIV comes in the first row & other are shifted too the next row. I want each row first div take no space from left side but is not happened.     Since zf 1.10 Zend Framework ships with pre-translated validation messages. They are outside the library path. The manual illustrates how to load these in your bootstrap. $translator = new Zend_Translate( 'array', '/resources/languages', $language, array('scan' => Zend_Locale::LOCALE_DIRECTORY) ); Zend_Validate_Abstract::setDefaultTranslator($translator); I am inclined to think that these resources are specific to the zf-version; validators could change over time. If i copy the resources to my application tree I need to perform additional maintenance each time I upgrade to a newer version. What is best practice? Is there a ZF convention already?

    Hi, I want to reference a win32 dll from my Qt application. I've added the dll location in the .pro file at "LIBS+=" . Once that is done, by right, i should be able to include the .h file inside the dll from my application. But i'm unable to do so.   • Zend Framework in a subfolder, but images taken from site root

    I have a dev project setup in a subfolder on my testing machine and it must stay there. However all the Zend frameworks views are linked to server root. CSS are linked like: <link type="text/css" href="<?php echo $this->baseUrl('/css/frontend.css') ?>" rel="Stylesheet" /> Which must be stayed this way, but it should link to localhost/a/b/c/prj1/css/frontend.css How can I setup a global subdirectory for this?

  • PHP multiple __autoload functions *without* the use of spl_register_autoload?

    I'm an author of a growing library of PHP + QuickBooks related code. I'd like to utilize PHPs __autoload() function, however my code is a library that other people can include() into their own applications, so I can't rely on __autoload() being not already defined. Is there a way to have multiple __autoload() functions? I saw spl_autoload_register() in the PHP manual, but not all of my users have the SPL extension installed, so I can't rely on that. If there was a way to fall-back to using this and use normal require/include statements by default, I might consider that. Does anyone else have any other clever solutions to this issue? It seems like a glaring oversight to only be able to have a single __autoload() function...

  • drag drop no longer working once application gets installed.

    I have an application that has drag and drop functionality to import images and video's. While developing, and testing through Visual Studio this has never given any problems. After installing through a set up project, everything in the application works fine, except the drag and drop, which seems to be doing nothing. Are there any security settings that need to be set through an installer, or something of that nature that could be preventing drag and drop after installation ?

  • Why does refreshing a page with a google map often fail?

    I'm working on a website that needs google maps, and testing is being a bitch because refreshing the page very often fails (hangs endlessly) so I need to go to a different page and come back in order to test the new version of the code. I have noticed that refreshing the page only fails on pages with maps, so I'm guessing these are related. Does anyone have a clue?

  • How to automatically check out a database file in a source controlled web application ?

    Hello, I am working on an ASP.NET web application, we are a small team (4 students) and we do not have access to a dedicated server to host the database instance. So for this web application we decided just to put the database file in the App_Data folder. The problem is that our project is source controled on TFS, so every time you open the solution and try to launch the web application, we get an expcetion saying that database is read-only. That is logical because the databse file is not automatically checked-out. Is there a workaround to avoid a manual check-out of the database file everytime we open the solution ? Thanks.

  • How do I submit a form from another page?

    I have a two page site. Each page contains a header with "tabs" at the top, to navigate between page 1 and 2. When a tab is selected, I need the selected page to re-POST to the server, to quickly refresh before it is displayed. I have a form on each page that allows a manual refresh from that page but need to submit that form from the other page. For example, page 2 is displayed. The tab for page 1 is selected (which is on page 2) It should then submit the refresh form on page 1. Any help is appreciated. (Using jQuery, js, html and CSS)

    I've got a database with pre-aggregated metrics similar to the one outlined in this use case: http://docs.mongodb.org/manual/use-cases/pre-aggregated-reports/ I have a daily collection with a subdocument for hour and minute metrics, and a 'metadata.date' entry for midnight on the day it represents. I also have a monthly collection with a day subdocument for each day. If I want to get an average of a metric over the past eight or so days how can I do that with the aggregation framework? Is the aggregation framework not the right tool for this since it's already pre-aggregated?

    I cannot figure out the issue with my code here. I am trying to take info from the table, then subtract 1 second from Current_Time which looks like '2:00'.     when I use fopen function , why don't I use r+ always , even when I'm not going to write any thing ... is there a reason for separating writing/reading process from only reading .. like , the file is locked for reading when I use r+ , because i might write new data into it or something ... another question : in php manual a+ : Open for reading and writing; place the file pointer at the end of the file. If the file does not exist, attempt to create it. What is supposed to be read if you are at the end of the file ..(pointer at the end) !!? where to learn more about the filesystem thing .... it's confusing

  • How to assess the risk of a java version upgrade?

    I'm being asked to assess whether we can safely upgrade the java version on one of our production-deployed webapps. The codebase is fairly large and we want to avoid having to regression test everything (no automated tests sadly), but we've already encountered at least one problem during some manual testing (XmlStringReader.getLocalName now throws an IllegalStateExeption when it just used to return null) and higher-ups are pretty nervous about the upgrade. The current suggested approach is to do a source compare of the JDK sources for each version and assess those changes to see which ones might have impact, but it seems there's a lot of changes to go through (and as mentioned the codebase is kinda large). Is it safe and easier to just review the java version changes for each version? Or is there an easier way to conduct this assessment? Edit: I forgot to mention the version upgrade being considered is a minor version upgrade, i.e. 1.6.10 to 1.6.33
