  I have verizon air card for my internet. Which is called vz manager. I have had it for about a year. Keeping within my usage allowance the whole time until 3 months ago, when my bill came in my 5,000 g allowance was ran to 18,000. It has continued to do so through the last 3 months. My usage reset itself yesterday for the new month. I got on google for about 5 minutes and chatted for about an hour yesterday online. Mind you that I have never done anything any different then i do everyday. I do not download music or watch videos on my computer, nothing like that. Well since last night a 8 pm my usage sayd 1109.525 gb. ALREADY! For being on the internet for an hour with no downloads. What could be causing this, please thrown me some ideas. Verizon is checking on the problem, but that usually doesnt get me the answer i want. Can someone be hacking my card and using internet through it, has told me that that is not possible, however I think with the internet anytihng is possible.

• What software will tell me if I've already downloaded a video? [closed]

  (I use Linux KNOPPIX (distro 7.0.2, ver 3.3.7) on hard drive.) I download videos of TV programs from the 60s and 70s (mainly from youtube). I copy the youtube URL then paste it into www.keepvid.com to download it (usually .mp4 format). Having now got dozens of such video files (and growing) on my hard drive, I'd like to organise them. WHAT I'D LIKE TO DO IS: Say I find a new vid (of a TV prog) on youtube (or another site), and I'm about to download it. It's possible that I've WATCHED IT BEFORE but have forgotten. So is there software out there that I can run which will do the following: Check for me if I've ALREADY WATCHED the vid that I'm about to download. At the moment, once I've watched a vid on my hard drive, I move the file to another directory called "Watched". But this of course doesn't alert me in the immediate way that I want. . It would crudely suffice, if the software told me AFTER I've downloaded the vid, if I've ALREADY WATCHED it (ie if it's already in my "Watched" directory, or perhaps in a "watched" list). I sometimes alter the filename of the original video file on hard drive, so this might spoil a comparison. If the software alerts me to the fact that I've already watched the vid (preferably BEFORE I download it), then this will allow me to confidently download only new vids that I haven't watched before, and save me duplicating my effort. I'd be most grateful if anyone can suggest such a piece of software, or an alternative solution. I'll be honest, I avoid software that infringes your privacy and control - you know, software that automatically does things behind your back, like upgrades itself over the internet, puts things on your hard drive that you didn't ask for, or sends information from your hard drive to websites.

• Copied Netbeans IDE Maven Web project failes to compile

  If I am going to make serious changes to my project I like to make a copy (right click project and select copy). I have created copies of my projects many times (maven web applications included) without issue. Now all I do is copy the project making no changes, leaving the copy settings on default (project name etc) and then try to run it and spring decides to take issue with it. Again I try running the original and it works. I deleted the faulty copy, restarted and tried again and still it does not work.   I have a standard Win 7 account 'popuser' to which I'd like to grant start and stop permissions for the OpenVPNService. I've used the following command successfully on other machines, but for some reason on a new Acer Aspire 5830T that I'm setting up this doesn't do the trick for me: subinacl /service OpenVPNService /grant=popuser=TO I keep getting the following error message: LookupAccountName : OpenVPNService:popuser 1337 The security ID structure is invalid.   Hello! This is not a critical case but really annoying. I'm running vCenter 4 (Build 208156) and when we reeboot the server the VirtualCenter Server service can't start and gives the following error "The VMware VirtualCenter Server service terminated with service-specific error 2 (0x2)." And if I try to start the service it fails again giving the same error. What I'll need to do is to stop the IIS Admin service and then start the VirtualCenter Server service and then the IIS Admin service, and everything runs fine until the next reboot. Can someone tell me how to fix this annoying error? Regards

  Does anyone know why I keep getting the following message in Sharepoint 2010 review problems and solutions list: The following services are managed by SharePoint, but their running state does not match what SharePoint expects: SPAdminV4. This can happen if a service crashes or if an administrator starts or stops a service using a non-SharePoint interface. If SharePoint-managed services do not match their expected running state, SharePoint will be unable to correctly distribute work to the service. Failing Services: SPTimerService (SPTimerV4) I assume this is referring to Sharepoint 2010 Timer Service but I can only see this in the services msc (and it is running), not in the Application Management > Manage services on server. Does anyone know why this keeps occurring and how I can stop it? Note - I looked in the event log and all I can see is that same error.

  Just a few days ago, Adobe Reader XI and Acrobat X stopped opening. When I try to open a pdf or either one of these programs the cursor would show a busy icon for a few seconds and stop. Each time I open it a process will show up in task manager, but no window will open.   Is there a possibility to make Postfix stop trying (for a period of time) to send emails to a domain from which it received a deferred response? Currently my Postfix goes through each address in the queue. Please see the below example. At 09:48:32 the status=deferred appears. After this Postfix should stop trying to send stuff to the yahoo.com domain. • Ubuntu 8.04 server is not retaining a static IP address

  I recently setup a linux box running Ubuntu 8.04 (to match another server with 8.04). I need to insure that this box has a static IP address and I changed /etc/network/interfaces to set up the static IP address and when I run sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart it works fine for a while, but always reverts back to 10.0.1.24 after being idle for a while. I also tried stopping/removing the dhcp client, but that didn't help. sudo /etc/init.d/dhcp stop sudo apt-get remove dhcp3-client Here is my /etc/init.d/networking: # The loopback network interface auto lo iface lo inet loopback # The primary network interface auto eth0 iface eth0 inet static address 10.0.1.4 netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 10.0.1.255 gateway 10.0.1.1 Any thoughts?   Trying to setup custom HTTP Response Headers on a new install of IIS7.5 on Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard and they are not working. Default headers work fine (X-Powered-By, etc...). Modifying default header values work (ie. change X-Powered-By to ASP.NET2). Modifying default header names cause header to stop being output (ie. Change X-Powered-By to X-Powered-By2). Site in question is a test site with a single html page. Custom headers also don't work on ASP.NET 2.0 site. I've tried setting the headers at the global level and at the site level to no effect.

• Intel RST crashing! IAStorUI unstable in win 8.1

  I have a Z87E-ITX Asrock mobo. Using a new 64G Corsair SSD as cache and a new Western Digi Black Scorpion 750G 2.5" drive. Using windows 8.1. Latest software or not, I can't open Intel RST software without it saying IAStorUI has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly blah blah. I have had some issues recently with Robotic sounds causing fps drops etc but found it was the HDD. After a standard windows scan and fix (& update to win 8.1) I haven't been able to open Intel RST. I thought maybe I should try to look for an SSD cache drive checker but as it doesn't show up as a drive, I'm unsure how any program can scan it.

• IIS7 Network Bios command limit and disabling file change notifications.

  Having experienced IIS for many years I've hit this error various times in the past, and understand it, the gist being IIS is attempting to setup so many file change notifications over a UNC share that it is hitting a specified limit of active commands. However, whilst I understand this is a registry change on the endpoints, in our internal network we're starting to hit this when running certain domains that have large content (and the content is then stored out of source control and instead on a dumb network store). Given this is a testing environment and rather than changing registry settings (which may not even work for client (dev) machines that run Vista IIS), I'd like to stop IIS setting up all these file change notifications. Is this possible to do on a per site basis? additionally the configuration can't be in the web.config, if this means having to disable FCN's for the entire IIS server this would be preferred. • Stuck part-way through installation of windows 7, upgrade product key, cannot cancel or finish installation

  I'm trying to install Windows 7 (to get rid of Windows 8). I started the installation, cleared the minefield Microsoft has put in to stop me uninstalling 8, but forgot that my Windows 7 disk is an upgrade. So now I'm part-way through the 7 install. Can't go back, can't convince Microsoft that I have a valid key; I tried stopping the Windows 7 install and booting XP first, but I can't either - the unfinished Windows 7 install prevents that. Where's the way out? Update: Having spent some time with a Microsoft operative, I know why I can't install XP; this recent computer doesn't support IDE SATA mode, only AHCI. So the problem is: - straight install - key not valid - XP first before upgrade - XP cannot install due to newer HDD interface.

  I found out that when I press the Insert key on the client I will block the OS X VNC server by putting it in a "help mode" where you get the question mark mouse cursor. The mouse works but I cannot use the keyboard anymore. Details: Reconnecting using VNC does not help Normal keyboard is working fine on the mac The only solution in addition to relogin was to stop the VNC server on mac using: killall OSXvnc-server After few seconds it will restart by itself and it will work. I don't like current workaround and looking for something better. Tested with these versions of the VNC client and all put the VNC server in the question mark mode, requiring service restart: Ultr@VNC 1.0.8.2 RealVNC 4.1.3 I know that the problem is caused by the different/bad implementation of the VNC protocol in the server but do you need an workaround?

• xfx 680i motherboard failure?

  At some point last night we must have had a blip in our power, as the stove clock was blinking like it would had their been... a blip in the power. When I came into my office this morning, my desktop computer was powered down and would not turn on. Cracking the case, I can see a small blue blinking light on the front right corner of the motherboard. Unplugging the power from the PSU causes the blinking to stop. Plugging in the power causes the blinking to resume. Pressing the power button does nothing. Does anyone know what this blinking blue light means? I'm mostly curious now if it's the motherboard that has gone bad, or the power supply. I don't have any other desktop parts to use to troubleshoot these components. Any ideas? My motherboard is an XFX NFORCE 680I SLI INTEL SOCKET 775 DDR2 ( Model #: MB-N680-ISH9 )

• inaccessible_boot_device after p2v Windows 2000 Pro SP4 to Workstation 6.5

  I am using the latest VMware Converter Standalone to p2v a physical Windows 2000 Professional SP4 PC. The PC is a standard Pentium with IDE disk from circa 2001. The disk is 20GB partitioned logically into C: and D. It converts with no errors (I did both disks into one VMDK). When I power on the VM in VMware Workstation 6.5 (or Vmware Player 2.5) it gets to the Win 2000 boot graphic then I get a BSOD with the classic 0x7B Stop error: inaccessible_boot_device. Is there anything I can do to get the vm to boot? I am lost for ideas, normally p2v of a basic IDE pc works flawlessly. I'm willing to put a bounty on this as I am trying to sort this out for a client urgently.

• Google chrome asking for username and password for OWA

  Hi, i have a question about the google chrome browser. When i navigate to my work's Outlook Web Access site to read my emails, the chrome browser is prompting me for a username and password to the server saying "Authentication Required - the server XXXXXX.XXX:443 requires a username and password. After i put them in i then have to enter in the normal OWA username and password to access my emails as per normal. The funny thing is.. 1] If i click CANCEL on the first dialog it takes me to the OWA screen and i can log in normal anyway. However - subqeuent page clicks will keep prompting me each time for the server credentials. 2] I am NOT prompted for server UN and PW if i use IE or fireFox. Does anyone know how to stop chrome from asking me each time? or is it a server setting - i do know that a friend who uses the same browser (chrome) and also OWA does not have the same problem (NB: they work at a different company) Thanks!
