  I need to load an XML document into my Dictionary<string,string> object. XML looks like: <nodes> <node id="123"> <text>text goes here</text> </node> </nodes> How can I do this using XmlDocument? I want readability over performance, and I find XmlReader to be hard to read b/c you have to keep checking the node type.

  I've found this snippet on Ajaxian, but I can't seem to use the cursor.y (or cursor.x) as a variable and when the function is called as such it does not seem to work. • Preventing focus on next form element after showing alert using JQuery

  I have some text inputs which I'm validating when a user tabs to the next one. I would like the focus to stay on a problematic input after showing an alert. I can't seem to nail down the correct syntax to have JQuery do this. Instead the following code shows the alert then focuses on the next text input.   When Oracle logs a parameterized SQL query failing, it shows "?" in place of the parameters, i.e. the query before replacing parameters. For example, "SELECT * FROM table where col like '?'" SQL state [99999]; error code [29902]; ORA-29902: error in executing ODCIIndexStart() routine ORA-20000: Oracle Text error: DRG-50901: text query parser syntax error on line 1, column 48 Is there a way to change logging so it shows the parameter values? The information above is absolutely useless unless I can see what the actual parsing problem was. In general, is there a way to set logs in Oracle to show parameters in parameterized query errors?

• Ontology - Conflict of same individuals property and datatype property

  I am having a problem with "same individuals property" in protege, when i run a reasoner (pellet 1.5 or fact++) Lets take ontology example thing has class sons A and B, A has sons C and D. B, C and D have individuals of the same class. Cant i say a individual C is "same individual" as individual B, and then add also individual D is "same individual" as individual B. Wich is true, they have diferent names, but they are same individual.. Why does it only work when i set individual B has "same individual" of type C or D? The protege error is "InconsistentOntologyException:Fact++.Kernel: inconsistent Ontology" and pellet says ontology is inconsistent. EDIT: Seems its a more deep rooted problem, this example works :(, gonna keep checking. EDIT2: After some more experimenting, seems its a conflict with DataType properties. They all share a DataType properties with same name. In the example domain of property would be A and range string. Any idea how to solve?

• How to not check in Eclipse specific project files?

  I don't want to force people into using a specific IDE for development, so our projects look basically like this: SomeProject src lib build.xml No IDE specific files whatsoever. However, many people prefer Eclipse and it is their valid complain that it is annoyingly difficult to set up an Eclipse project from an Ant build file if that project is checked into a VCS. That's a very old bug, so I don't really expect it to be fixed soon. I don't want all those weird Eclipse project files in the project root, but if it was the only way, I would accept having the eclipse project files in a subdirectory "eclipse". I thought Eclipse's linked resources were capable of just that, but I was wrong, it doesn't really work. How do you solve this problem? Are you checking in the .settings directory. etc. into your project's root?

  I'd like to have Ant automatically include or import resources matching a particular pattern, but I'm really struggling with the syntax. Here's what I've tried: <import> <fileset dir="${basedir}" includes="*-graph.xml" /> </import> However, I just get the error message import requires file attribute or at least one nested resource The documentation for import (and include) both say that you can use a nested resource collection, and the documentation for resource collections says <fileset> is a resource collection. I've Googled and can't find any useful examples at all. I'm using Ant 1.8.1 (verified with ant -version)

Whenever I need to call a method of a class, I create an object of that class and call the desired method.   What is the most elegant (or least ugly) way of using typed constants in a case statement in Delphi? That is, assume for this question that you need to declare a typed constant as in const MY_CONST: cardinal = $12345678; ... Then the Delphi compiler will not accept case MyExpression of MY_CONST: { Do Something }; ... end; but you need to write case MyExpression of $12345678: { Do Something }; ... end; which is error-prone, hard to update, and not elegant. Is there any trick you can employ to make the compiler insert the value of the constant (preferably by checking the value of the constant under const in the source code, but maybe by looking-up the value at runtime)? We assume here that you will not alter the value of the "constant" at runtime.

• How to name an event handler of a private variable in Vb.Net following FxCop rules and Vb.Net standa

  Hello, On one side, in Vb.Net when you add an event handler to an object the created method is named: <NameOfTheObject>_<NameOfTheMethod>. As I like to have consistent syntax I always follow this rule when creating event handlers by hand. On the other side when I create private variables I prefix them with m_ as this is a common thing used by the community, in C# people use to put _ at the beginning of a variable but this is no CLS compliant. At the end, when I create event handlers for events raised by private variables I end with Subs like m_myVariable_MyEvent. Code Analysis (Fx Cop) is complainig about this way of naming because the method does not start with uppercase and because the _, so the question is: What naming standards do you follow when creating event handlers by hand that follow the Fxcop rules if any? • Adding WCF service reference adds DataContract types too

  Hi everybody, I've used Visual Studio's Add Service Reference feature to add a service (actually it is a workflow service, created in WF4 RC1, but I don't think this makes any difference), and it also added the DataContracts that the service uses. At first this seemed fine, because All I've had in the DataContracts was simply properties, with no implementations. But now I've added code in the constructor of one data contracts that initializes creates an instance of one of the properties that exposes a list of other DCs, and when I've updated the service reference via VS (2010 RC1), the implementation was not updated. What should I do? Should I use my DCs instead of the ones created by VS or should I use the ones VS created? I've noticed that the properties in the VS-generated DCs contain some additional logic for checking equality in the setters and they also implement some interfaces too (like IExtensibleDataObject and INotifyPropertyChanged) which might get handy I guess in the future (I'm not knowledgeable at WCF). • Python del() built-in can't be used in assignment?

  I noticed a problem when I was trying to use del in a lambda to thin out a list of threads to just those running: map(lambda x: del(x) if not x.isAlive() else x, self.threads) Ignore for a second that this doesn't do anything, I'm just fooling around with map, reduce, and lambda. This fails with a syntax error at del(x). With some messing around, I think the problem is del() doesn't return a value. For example, this fails with the same error: b = 5 x = del(b) This doesn't, however: def rmThis(x): del(x) Which means I'm using this workaround: map(lambda x: rmThis(x) if not x.isAlive() else x, self.threads) So is the limitation just because del() doesn't return a value? Why not? I'm using python 2.6.2

  I'm doing some tests with new features of CSS3, but this combination only works in lastest versions of Chrome and Firefox, but not in Safari or Opera: box-shadow: inset 0px -10px 20px 0px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.5); -webkit-box-shadow: inset 0px -10px 20px 0px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.5); -moz-box-shadow: inset 0px -10px 20px 0px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.5); I really don't know if they fails in the box-shadow itself, in the inset parameter, or in RGBA color. It's a syntax error or simply Safari and Opera lacks on this?

  Hello Stackoverflow Users, Today I've tested the Kohana3, which has been changed a lot. I'm working so much with the Auth Module, and need this in my new Project also. Now I found a Bug, I think it is a bug, what can I do? Problem: After I'm deleting a user from the Database, who is at this Moment logged_in() in my Website, and he is refreshing the page, he will be logged_in() as the first user out of the PRAEFIX_users Table. Even if he is deleted. And 99% this is an Administrator. My function which is checking and redirecting if he is not logged_in(): if(!Auth::instance()->logged_in()) { $this->request->redirect( 'login' ); } How can i change my Check Login so, that if he is deleted, he will be redirected to login (/login/) ? Here the same Thread at Kohana Forums, but I hope and think, stackoverflow is a litte bit faster :)

  Hi, I know theres hundred of questions and answers out there, but cant find one to specifically answer this. I need a web editor that will let me choose a dark themed editor. I understand gvim is one, but im not totally ready to let go of my mouse. I would like something like sublime text editor for windows, but open to other suggestions. The less bloat the best. I dont need a full IDE like eclipse, but willing to compromise, as long as the themes can easily be added. I've tried bluefish, kompozer and not happy with them. Just need a basic text editor that will highlight php syntax on a dark background.

• Syncing with Address Book: Last modified property in ABPerson/ABRecord

  I'm syncing data from the Address Book into a Core Data database and I've nearly got it working perfectly. The only issue remaining is checking for changes and modifications on startup and reflecting the changes inside Core Data. Currently, I simply check the ID of each ABRecord and see if it is already in Core Data. Of course, this only works in the case of new contacts and not changed information inside an existing contact. One solution would be to go through each contact already in the database and check each property against the Address Book. The down side of this is that it's really slow. One method that would work is if the ABRecord had a last modified date. I could then store the date inside the Core Data database and check on startup to see if I need to update the contact. However, I can't find anything like this in the documentation. Any ideas?

• Binary search of unaccesible data field in ldap from python

  I'm interested in reproducing a particular python script. I have a friend who was accessing an ldap database, without authentication. There was a particular field of interest, we'll call it nin (an integer) for reference, and this field wasn't accessible without proper authentication. However, my friend managed to access this field through some sort of binary search (rather than just looping through integers) on the data; he would check the first digit, check if it was greater or less than the starting value, he would augment that until it returned a true value indicating existence, adding digits and continuing checking until he found the exact value of the integer nin. Any ideas on how he went about this? I've access to a similarly set up database.

• Using SortableRows and know when rows have been moved

  I want to take advantage of the sortableRows property of the jqGrid. How do I detect when a row has been moved. I have studied the documentation and looked for examples but haven't found much. I do believe it is something like jQuery("#grid").sortableRows({connectWith:'#gird', ondrop: function(){ alert("row moved") }}); but that does not work. I can move the rows, but don't seemed to have trapped the event. Is there something wrong with my syntax or my approach in general. Basically, I need to know that the rows have been rearranged so I can be sure they get saved with their new order. Thanks

• Why is this if statement failing?

  I'm working on an existing class that is two steps derived from System.Windows.Forms.Combo box. The class overrides the Text property thus: public override string Text { get { return this.AccessibilityObject.Value; } set { if (base.Text != value) { base.Text = value; } } } The reason given for that "get" is this MS bug: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/814346 However, I'm more interested in the fact that the "if" doesn't work. There are times where "base.Text != value" is true and yet pressing F10 steps straight to the closing } of the "set" and the Text property is not changed. I've seen this both by just checking values in the debugger, and putting a conditional breakpoint on that only breaks when the "if" statement's predicate is true. How on earth can "if" go wrong? The class between this and ComboBox doesn't touch the Text property. The bug above shouldn't really be affecting anything - it says it's fixed in VS2005. Is the debugger showing different values than the program itself sees?

N.B. You can achieve this by using late binding, but losing the intellisense is not an option.
