• Grouping problem with postback in SPGridview

  I have a SPGridView with a custom CheckBox Template in it. To access the value of the checkbox I have created the SPGridView in Page_Init method. It was working fine. I also have grouping in the grid. It was working fine till I made any postback in the page. To overcome that I created my own custom GridView and overrided the LoadControlState event. Now the problem is when I use this Custom Grid in my page the LoadControlState event occurs after the Init event and hence the grid doesnt render on the page. When i keep it in Page_Load it works fine but my custom checkbox template creates a problem then. How do I get both the custom Checkbox Template and grouping with postback in the SPGridview working properly??? Please help as this is really getting me stuck.........

• Combine master-detail databinding

  I have created data sources from my objects in my project, some of which have other objects as members. When I want to bind a some objects to a data grid I would like to display some of the values from the member objects in the data grid as well but the examples I have come across seem to use an entire other datagrid or controls to display these member object values. How can I combine these values into one data grid? (Preferably without creating a wrapping class) Can I achieve this with LINQ somehow? Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks P.S. C# or VB examples will do.

  I am writing some Selenium tests and I need to be able to find an ancestor of a WebElement that I have already found. This is what I'm trying but is returning no results // checkbox is also a WebElement WebElement container = checkbox.findElement(By.xpath( "current()/ancestor-or-self::div[contains(@class, 'x-grid-view')]") ); The image below shows the div that I have selected highlighted in dark blue and the one I want to find with an arrow pointing at it. • WCF Paged Results & Data Export

  I've walked into a project that is using a WCF service for the data tier. Currently, when data is needed for a grid, all rows are returned and the results are bound to a grid and the dataset is stuffed into a session variable for paging/sorting/rebinding. We've already hit a max message size problem, so I'm thinking it's time to convert from fetch and cache to fetch only the current page. Face value this seems easy enough, but there's a small catch. The user is allowed to export the entire result set at any point. This means that for grid viewing purposes fetching the current page is fine, but when they want to do an export, I still need to make a call for all data. This puts me back into the max message size issue. What is the recommended approach for this type of setup? We are currently using the wsHttpBinding... Thanks for any assistance.

How can i get an event when the ItemsControl is completely loaded or is this not possible?

  If I have a DataGrid in a XAML form, and add the following style: <Style TargetType="Button"> <Setter Property="Margin" Value="2"/> </Style> The data grid locks up the application. I found if I put the style into a resource block that isn't seen by any data grid, then it seems to be happy. However, if I want to have the style above applied to all buttons on my window, I have to put it in various resource blocks that cannot be seen by the data grid. Is there any way to avoid this?

• Splitting up/merging windows in WPF

  I'm new to WPF but I need to implement following functionality: I have a window that contains one Grid (might be changed to stack panel or something else). In that Grid I have 2 columns, each of them contains another Grid. Lets call them gridFirst and gridSecond. There is also GridSplitter in first column allowing to resize the columns. I want to provide a button that will allow to separate gridFirst from this window and display it "as it is" in another window. How do I do that? It would be nice if the new window had a same menu as the original window without me having to copy-paste (that not a good coding practise) all its code to the new window. Thanks for answers

User should create a column of following types Text, Number, Currency, Combo Box, Check Box, Radio Button ,Date time type (should display DateTimePicker control) and Hyper Link type. After that i want to pass all rows to next screen for further processing. We can create a column of these types in a grid view but how can i store it in a data table so that i can pass it to next screen. Or should i create a column in a data table and then assign data table to grid view by gridview.DataSource = dt; but can we create a these types of columns in a data table.

• Buttons in the corners?

  I'd like to have 4 buttons one in each corner of a window. But I want the stuff in the grid/window to be "behind" the buttons, as if they float on top. I downloaded release for mvc 1, i have dll on my hard drive, i added a reference to my project, but i always getting following error: 'System.Web.Mvc.HtmlHelper' does not contain a definition for 'Grid' and no extension method 'Grid' accepting a first argument of type 'System.Web.Mvc.HtmlHelper' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) • I want to use 960 or Blueprint, but I also want to use lots of Padding and Borders, is it a good fit

  I started using 960 today and thought it would be really easy. However, trying to translate a site to 960 quickly proved tough for many reasons. The first is that I can't use any padding or borders. Unless of course I add many more divs. Same thing with borders. Question is, if I want to use lots of padding and borders (where padding and borders are either 5px "thin" or 10px "thick" styles), are 960 and blueprint overkill? It seems pretty easy to create a custom grid, but once I add padding and borders, 99% of the work is making sure the grid doesn't break. I still am going to end up lining everything up to a 960 grid with 12 columns, but I want to have padding and borders included in the width, and it seems that's not easily possible with 960 or blueprint. What are your thoughts?

  I am trying to perform broad-phase collision detection with a fixed-grid size approach. Thus, for each entity's position: (x,y,z) (each of type float), I need to find which cell does the entity lie in. I then intend to store all the cells in a hash-table and then iterate through to report (if any) collisions. So, here is what I am doing: Grid-cell's position: (int type) (Gx, Gy, Gz) = (x / M, y / M, z / M) where M is the size of the grid. Once, I have a cell, I'd like to add it to a hash-table with its key being a unique hash based on (Gx, Gy, Gz) and the value being the cell itself. Now, I cannot think of a good hash function and I need some help with that. Can someone please suggest me a good hash function? Thanks

  Hi, I am new to Subsonic, I have configured Subsonic3.0 T4 Template and created classes for my project. I have taken GridView and Object Datasource. Object datasource will connect to the one of the classes which is created from subsonic. I have set object datasource for g\fetch, Insert, Update and delete methods. Then i set the datasource of grid witht he object datasource. Grid view successfully showing me all the records. But at the time of Update, Insert or delete it throws an exception that "Can not ceate an instance of an interface". And also i am not able to dwbug in the code of the subsonic. May be because of partial classes. Can anyone please let me know what is happening at the backgrund? Or may be one can give me sample example which contains subsonic 3.0 and grid add, edit and delete so it will be really helpful for me.... Please... :) Thanks, George

But still be able to use my widget in there.   Question: Can anyone point to an article or code samples anywhere on how to provide BOTH editing AND range selection in a TStringGrid? Yes, I KNOW there are third-party grids that do this, but it's frustrating that the built-in grid lacks this basic capability. Background: It's pretty normal to expect to be able to both edit a cell in a grid, and also to select a range of cells such as for a Copy operation. As delivered, TStringGrid doesn't do that. It's either/or. In fact, the docs tell us about the grid Options, "When goEditing is included in Options, goRangeSelect has no effect". However, it looks like it may be possible to do editing and rangeselects in a TStringGrid anyway!!! Through careful use of the mousedown, mouseup, selectcell and exit events, you can get dang close by switching editing elements on and off at the right times. But I still don't have it perfect, and that only covers mouse use, not keyboard changes.

• ASP.NET with VS 2008 How to Run Root "/" with Local Web Server

  I want to use the built-in web server for VS 2008 and have it run my web-site project as the top level root "/". When the the web-site project node is selected, right click never gives me an option to select a property-grid like that shown under step 3. Nor could I find another way in the menu or tool bar to get the property-grid. I don't know if the UI difference I'm seeing has to do with me using VS 2008 and the instructions are for VS 2005 or what? How do I get the web-site property-grid for VS 2008, or is there an alternative way to get the root setup I want?
