What is the best way to pass data into an API from a website?

My main objective is to create a User Interface in order to provision(change the status: activate, deactivate, or suspend) modems. I have received a SOAP developer's guide to the specific type of modem that helps out with the specific values that I need to pass into Iridium's WSDL but I cannot figure out how to do this from a webpage I have created using HTML/CSS, and PHP? I have been told by others that I need to know the portal. I have no idea what that means. I am a beginner programmer who has learned programming for this project. Any suggestions as to how to pass my data into the provisioning API?

Antenna Aligner Part 6: Little Robots

A week ago I took temporary ownership of a HTC Desire S so that I could start testing my app under Android. Support for Android was not in my original plan, but when Nomad added support for it recently, I starting thinking why not! So with some trepidation, I clicked the Build for Android button on the Nomad toolbar... nothing. Hmm... that's not right, I was expecting something to build. After a bit of faffing around I finally realised that I hadn't read the text on the Android setup page properly (yes that's right, RTFM!), and I needed a two-part application identifier, separated by a dot. I did this (not sure what the two part thing is all about, that one my list to investigate!) After making the change, the Android build worked and created the apk file. I uploaded this to the device and nervously ran it... it worked!!! Well, more or less! So, there was not splash screen, but this was no surprise because I only have the iOS icons and splash screen in my project at the moment. What was more concerning was the compass update didn't seem to be working. I suspect this is a result of using an iOS specific option in the Phonegap compass watcher. Another thing to investigate. I've also just noticed that the css gradient background hasn't worked either... These issues aside, it was actually more successful than I was expecting, so happy days! Right, lets get Googling... Next time: Preparing for submission to the App Store! :-)

Plesk 9 - Client panel access via client domain, not server host name

I've setup a Plesk 9 vps recently. The plesk admin is accessible at, say, http://superawesomedomain.com:8443. I'm setting up a couple of client domains on the server. I'd like clients to be able to access plesk via a similar url, but instead it would be something like http://inferiorclientdomain.com:8443. This works ok in a sense, but it always redirect the request for inferiorclientdomain.com:8443 to superawesomedomain.com:8443. I'd like the control panel access url to remain on inferiorclientdomain.com. Is that possible? EDIT: System Info. Plesk 9.5.2 on CentOS 5 (Build 95100504.12)

Using RegEx's in Multi-Channel Funnels in Google Analytics

For some reason, I can't get my multi-channel funnel which utilizes RegEx's in the path steps to function -- it keeps coming back with no data. There are a few variables which may be holding things up, but I can't figure out the origin of the problem, nor a solution. Here's the situation: The funnel is tracking conversions, defined as when a user completes 4 steps to signup Steps are not "required" Default URL is set to https://example.com There is a 302 redirect set up on our site that leads from http://example.com to https://example.com Within the funnel, steps switch from non-secure pages (unless browser is set to secure browsing), to secure pages once the user moves from the landing page to the second page of the sign-up process (account placeholder has been created) URL at that point contains the variable of publisher number within (but not at the end) the URL My RegEx's are all properly written as tested on rubular.com

That way, I could update my objects and the draw functionality would take care of the work for me. After a little experimenting and web searching, it appeared this concept was an impossible dream. Of course, when has that ever stopped me? In my typical way, I started to massively dive down the rabbit hole. So, I start debugging the application and stepping through code. Everything appears to be working. Time to dig a little deeper. After much profanity was spewed, I stumbled upon a breakthrough. The code only looked like it was working. What was really happening is that there was an exception being thrown in the background thread that I never saw. Apparently, the key call was the one to PropertyChanged. If PropertyChanged is not called on the UI thread, the UI thread ignores the call. Actually, it throws an exception and the background thread silently crashes. Of course, you'll never see this unless you're looking REALLY carefully. This seemed to be a simple problem. I just need to marshal this to the UI thread. Unfortunately, this object has no knowledge of this mythical UI Thread in which we speak. So, I had to pull the UI Thread out of thin air. Let's change our PropertyChanged call to look this. public event PropertyChangedEventHandler PropertyChanged; protected void NotifyPropertyChanged( [CallerMemberName] string p_PropertyName = null ) { if( PropertyChanged != null ) Windows.ApplicationModel.Core.CoreApplication.MainView.CoreWindow.Dispatcher.RunAsync( Windows.UI.Core.CoreDispatcherPriority.Normal, new Windows.UI.Core.DispatchedHandler( () => { PropertyChanged( this, new PropertyChangedEventArgs( p_PropertyName ) ); } ) ); } Now, we raised our notification on the UI thread. Everything is fine, people are happy, and the world moves on. You may have noticed that I didn't await my call to the dispatcher. This was intentional. If I am trying to update a slew of sprites, I don't want thread being hung while I wait my turn. Thus, I send the message and move on. It is worth nothing that this is NOT the most efficient way to do this for game programming. We'll get to that in another blog post. However, it is perfectly acceptable for a business app that is running a background task that would like to notify the UI thread of progress on a periodic basis. It is worth noting that this code was written for a Windows Store App. You can do the same thing with WP8 and WPF. The call to the marshaler changes, but it is the same idea.

The article continues on to say, "For example, a function might modify a global or static variable, modify one of its arguments, raise an exception, write data to a display or file, read data, or call other side-effecting functions...." Are all these examples, examples of 1.) - Modifiying some state , or are they also part of 2.) - Has an observable interaction with calling functions or the outside world?

How can I set up Friendly URL to Nginx?

I'm trying to use dokuwiki with its Friendly URL on Nginx. The problem that I'm facing is, it doesn' show correct path to any link(even stylesheet, and images) on every page It looks that paths are missing wiki/ part. If I click on the image and show its destination, it shows this url http://foo-sample.com/lib/tpl/dokuwiki/images/logo.png But it has to be this below. http://foo-sample.com/wiki/lib/tpl/dokuwiki/images/logo.png and login URL is not working either. Multiple thunderbird Icons in System Tray(Windows 7) & TaskBar

Is this some new "feature" for thunderbird 8? When I start thunderbird it starts by opening thunderbird. Once it is loading thunderbird it loads another 6 thunderbirds. The windows are called Mozilla Thunderbird Inbox - myEmail@gmail.com - Mozilla Thuderbird Inbox - AotherEmail@gmail.com - Mozilla Thuderbird Inbox - AotherEmail2@gmail.com - Mozilla Thuderbird Inbox - AotherEmail2@gmail.com - Mozilla Thuderbird (yes it repeats the same one a few times) Inbox - AotherEmail2@gmail.com - Mozilla Thuderbird I have 7 email accounts but for whatever reason it only made 3 windows. What happened to the one window? When I minimize to tray I got 4 of thunderbird icons. When closing one of them all of the close. My other windows 7(32 bit not 64 bit) only have one instance.

Upgrade Ubuntu 11.10 to 12.10

To whoever can help, I want to update the ubuntu on my laptop to 12.10 from the current version 11.10, when i click on the update manager i get a partial update gui, if i click cancel on that i get the gui for update which has three buttons check, install updates and upgrade. Postfix SMTP sends to localhost, ignores MX records set to Google Apps

I have the MX records for zaltin.com set to the Google Apps domains (aspmx.l.google.com etc.). If an email is sent to kerrick@zaltin.com from most places, it goes to my Google Apps account. However, on the zaltin.com server (Ubuntu 10.04 if it matters), sending via SMTP (postfix), if I send to kerrick@zaltin.com (via the Pony ruby gem if it matters), it simply routes to kerrick@localhost (showing up via the mail command) instead of going to my Google Apps account (where it should show up in my GApps Gmail inbox). Can I make email sent via SMTP on my server, through my server, not go to my server but to Google Apps?

How to determine most stable Cisco IOS release?

This post is about a Catalyst 4948E switch. I was looking on the download page and realized that there are no "GD" versions available. Are the "ED" versions stable? Even if you change "ED" to "GD" in the URL the IOS images are still the same. http://www.cisco.com/cisco/software/release.html?mdfid=283027810&flowid=3592&softwareid=280805680&release=15.1.1-SG2&relind=AVAILABLE&rellifecycle=ED&reltype=latest Is 15.1 as reliable as 15.0? My devices are currently on the 12.2 train. Is there anything special to upgrade to one of the 15.x trains? Are the configurations compatible.
