    Say, we have a table created as: create table notes (_id integer primary key autoincrement, created_date date) To insert a record, I'd use ContentValues initialValues = new ContentValues(); initialValues.put("date_created", ""); long rowId = mDb.insert(DATABASE_TABLE, null, initialValues); But how to set the date_created column to "now"? To make it clear, the initialValues.put("date_created", "datetime('now')"); Is not the right solution. It just sets the column to "datetime('now')" text.

On the other hand, entering insert mode while my cursor is on a blank line doesn't move my cursor to the correctly indented location. How do I make vim correctly indent my cursor when entering insert mode (via i) on a blank line?

    I would like to perform a SQL XML insert (on MSSQL), and in this case I need to insert a list of files into the DB (this is simple enough). However, there's an auto generated PK column (ID), and I need the ID for each newly created filename without performing a 2nd query. Is this possible? I guess it doesn't matter if the result is/isn't XML, but the input certainly has to be.

I am trying to learn how to do this manually but I have no direction on where to put the assertions and all the literature I am finding only covers how to add assertions with the CodedUI Test Builder tool that is included with VS2010.     I have an application and around 20 accounts are created per minute (on average). I need to implement a new feature which requires the ID of the last insert. I am using PDO. The question is, lets say 5 users create accounts at exactly the same time. Will it return the ID from the database for that users profile that was just created, or will it return the last insert? If you get what I mean.

    Hi! I'm doing a INSERT ... ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE but I need the update part to be conditional, only doing the update if some extra condition has changed. However, WHERE is not allowed on this UPDATE. Is there any workaround for this? I can't do combinations of INSERT/UPDATE/SELECT since this needs to work over a replication.

  • Why do XSLT editors insert tab or space characters into XSLT to format it?

    All XSLT editors I've tried till now add tab or space characters to the XSLT to indent it for formatting. This is done even in places within the XSLT where these characters are significant to the XSLT processor. XSLT modified for formatting in this way can produce output very different to that of the original XSLT if it had no formatting. To prevent this, xsl:text elements or other XSLT must be added to a sequence constructor to help separate formatting from content, this additional XSLT impacts on maintainability. Formatting characters also adversely impact on general usability of the tool in a number of ways (this is why word-processors don't use them I guess) and add to the size of the file. As part of a larger project I've had to develop a light-weight XSLT editor, it's designed to format XSLT properly, but without tab or space characters, just a dynamic left-margin for each new line. The XSLT therefore doesn't need additional elements to separate formatting tab or space characters from content. The problem with this is that if XSLT from this editor is opened in other XSLT editors, characters will be added for formatting reasons and the XSLT may therefore no longer behave as intended. Why then do existing XSLT editors use tabs or spaces for formatting in the first place? I feel there must be valid reasons, perhaps historical, perhaps practical. An answer will help me understand whether I need to put compatibility options in place in my XSLT editor somehow, whether I should simply revert to using tabs or spaces for both XSLT content and formatting (though this seems like a backwards step to me), or even whether enough XSLT users might be able to persuade their tools vendors to include alternative formatting methods to tabs or spaces.     I set up a PXE server which hosts both Ubuntu Desktop and Ubuntu Server. Ubuntu Desktop is installed successfully from PXE.   • How can a single script attached to multiple enemies provide separate behavior for each enemy?

    I am making a TD game and now stucked at multiple enemies using same script. All is well with scripts attached with one enemy only. Problem is in running multiple enemies. Here is the overview. I have a Enemy object with which I have attached a 'RunEnemy' script. Flow of this script is: RunEnemy.cs: PathF p; p = gameObject.GetComponent<PathF>(); //PathF is a pathfinding algo which has 'search; function which returns a array of path from starting position PathList = p.search(starting position); //------------------------------- if(PathList != null) { //if a way found! if(moving forward) transform.Translate(someXvalue,0,0); //translates on every frame until next grid point else if(moving back) transform.Translate(0,someXvalue,0); ...and so on.. if(reached on next point) PathList = p.search(from this point) //call again from next grid point so that if user placed a tower enemy will run again on the returned path } Now I have attached this script and "PathF.cs" to a single enemy which works perfect. I have then made one more enemy object and attached both of these script to it as well, which is not working they both are overlapping movements. I can't understand why, I have attached these scripts on two different gameobjects but still their values change when either enemy changes its value. I don't want to go with a separate script for each enemy because there would be 30 enemies in a scene. How can I fix this problem?

  • How can I author objects with perspective that fit into a tile-based map but span multiple tiles?

    I'm creating a tilemap city and trying to figure out the most efficient way to create unique building scenes. The trick is, I need to maintain a sort of 2D, almost-top-down perspective, which is hard to do with buildings or large objects that span multiple tiles. I've tried doing three buildings at a time, and mixing and matching the base layer and colors, like this: This creates a weird overlapping effect, and also doesn't seem that efficient from a production standpoint. But it was the best way to have shadows appear correctly on the neighboring buildings. I'm wondering if modular buildings would be the way to go? That way I can mix and match any set of buildings together as tiles: I guess I would have to risk some perspective and shadowing to get the buildings to align correctly. What sort of authoring process could I use to allow me to create a variety of buildings (or other objects) that maintain this perspective while spanning multiple tiles worth of screen space? Would you recommend creating blank buildings, and then affixing art overlays as necessary to make the buildings unique? Or should they be directly part of the building tile (for example, create a separate tileset of buildings signs and colorings)?

A "topic" must be mainly about "Software engineering", "Algorithm and data structure concepts" and perhaps "Design patterns". I mean let us try to look what is not already there? What can be developed in fiew month and give a breakthrue / start a new leap / show somethig not realized before in science of f multiple computers programming? What i see is already there: LAN / wire and other infrastractural programms for connecting on device level MPI/ Bit torrent/Jabber protocols / APIs / servers for messaging on top Boost and analogs on evry OS in most languages for multithreading there are lots of CUDA like on computer frameworks for fast calculating on computers GPUs What I personally do not see out there is a crossplatform framework for multiple processes interaction. Meaning one that would allow easy creation of multyple processes running in paralell inside one hoster app on one machine. In level not harder than needed for threads creation (so no seprate server apps - just one lib doing it all) Is there ny such lib and what can you propose for research topic?

    I'm making a virtual mall using NetBeans IDE 7.3.1 I inserted images using the following steps: Drag and drop label onto frame Go to label properties Click on ellipsis of 'icon' option Import to project, select desired image Resize or reposition it accordingly. Then, I saved the project, copied the project folder into a pendrive, tried to 'Open Project' in mate's laptop, using the same Java Netbeans IDE version. When I tried to open the frames, they displayed empty labels, without images. What went wrong?
