  • Are there any MVP Frameworks projects out there?

    MVC is used a number of popular frameworks. To name just a few, Ruby on Rails, ASP.NET MVC, Monorail, Spring MVC. Are there any equivalent frameworks using any variant of MVP? Most of the examples I've found online seem to be custom implementations of the pattern rather than reusable frameworks. Suggestions need not be specific to any particular programming language, my interest is mostly academic.

  • Solutions for redundant server and client code?

    In our system, the code which exists on the client side (in Flash and Javascript) mirrors the code that exists on the server side (e.g. in Python or PHP), normally with respect to the models, the methods available for those models, and the unit tests written for them. This becomes a problem in systems where you want to minimize data transfer (e.g. multiplayer games). I do not want to write the same code and unit tests redundantly for both the client and server, but I don't know of any standard solutions to deal with this. Basically, I want a language/compiler which can produce models and methods for three main languages: Actionscript, Javascript, and any server language. Does something like this exist?

  • Control statements in Haskell?

    I am just beginning Haskell, but from all the online tutorials I've found I can't seem to find if there is one accepted way to do a conditional control statement. I have seen if-else, guards, and pattern matching, but they all seem to accomplish the same thing. Is there one generally accepted/faster/more efficient way than the rest?

  • Flurry's not collecting any data from my iPhone-app

    Hi all, I want to use Flurry to collect some statistics, so I registered and created an app in Flurry. Then, I put the following code in my appDidFinishLaunching: [FlurryAPI startSession:@"code here"]; Afterwards, I installed the app on my iPhone and ran it - but I don't see any data online.   • Where can I find the list of all SQL-standard-mandated aggregate functions? [on hold]

    I know that different DBMSes support different aggregate functions; for example: MySQL's aggregates Oracle's aggregates I want to get the list of aggregates mandated by the SQL standard. Or, to be more precise, the lists of mandatory aggregates for SQL 1992, 1998, 2003, 2008 and 2011 - with 2011 being the most important to me. Edit: Of course if I buy a copy of the standards I could compile these lists myself. My question is whether they're accessible somewhere online.

I've seen many just checking the download speed of images, external files etc. But is it possible to meassure how long asp/php code takes to execute? I have a site running a bit slowly, and it would be very nice with some app/service guiding where to optimize.

  • problem downloading movie to iphone for storage and playback

    I am basically making a video library where you download videos and I then write them to the applications documents folder. This all works fine and if i stream the video from online it plays fine. Or indeed I can stream it from the resource folder fine. However, after downloading it and saving to the documents folder then attempting to stream I get the error 'movie format not supported' any ideas? thanks very much

    I am trying to use Haml with Grails but I am having some issues. The plugin for haml has errors to parse empty lines. The plugin generate gsp files, so I think that I can use the online haml html generator. Bug I want something like an editor with syntax highlithing, blocks, etc, and that generate html.     I'm setting up an online ordering system but I'm in Australia and for international customers I'd like to show prices in US dollars or Euros so they don't have to make the mental effort to convert from Australian dollars. Does anyone know if I can pull up to date exchange rates off the net somewhere in an easy-to-parse format I can access from my PHP script ?
