  • Java - StackOverflow Error on recursive 2D boolean array method that shouldn't happen.

    Hey everyone, I'm working on a runnable java applet that has a fill feature much like the fill method in drawing programs such as Microsoft Paint. This is how my filling method works: 1.) The applet gets the color that the user clicked on using .getRGB 2.) The applet creates a 2D boolean array of all the pixels in the window, with the value "true" if that pixel is the same color as the color clicked on or "false" if not. The point of this step is to keep the .getRGB method out of the recursive method to hopefully prevent this error. 3.) The applet recursively searches the 2D array of booleans where the user clicked, recording each adjacent point that is "true" in an ArrayList. The method then changes each point it records to false and continues. 4.) The applet paints every point stored in the ArrayList to a user selected color. All of the above steps work PERFECTLY if the user clicks within a small area, where only a few thousand pixels or so have their color changed.     I'd like to have my Axis2 Web Service read from a configuration file, whose name is sent as a parameter to the service. Where is the best place to put this file? And How to best access it? Examples welcome. I've checked the current directory is the Apache/Tomcat/bin file, I could put it in the parent directory, or put it into a Apache/Tomcat/conf, although this looks like it's more reserved for apache configuration itself.

  • Android: Stopping method to be called twice if already running.

    I'm trying to prevent my application to call the same method twice in the event of a double-click, or if the user presses different buttons quickly, almost at the same time. I have clickable Views, acting as buttons, that call the same method but passing different parameters. This is the call: startTheSearch(context, getState(), what, where); Inside this method I'm creating a new Thread, because it queries a web server for the result: new Thread(new Runnable() { public void run() { progDiag = ProgressDialog.show(ctx, null, "Searching", true); getServerXML(context, what, where, searchIsCustom, mOffset); handler.sendEmptyMessage(0); } }).start(); The problem is that upon two quick clicks, the method is fired twice, two threads are created, and consequently two new activities are created. That makes my app crash. So is there any way I can block the method being called if it's already running, or if the thread has started so it wont create a new one? Please, I really need to fix this. I've been developing on Android for almost 2 months now, but I'm yet to tackle that bug. Thanks in advance.

  • How to create a Windows 7 installation usb media from linux ? (to install Windows 7) - Help need to know better method

    I have been reading some web pages and posts here and in other forums about how to create a Windows 7 installation Usb media (to install windows 7 using a usb) from linux. I asked in technet about this , and they give me general ideas about how to do it I personally am not very familiar with linux, but basicaly all that you need to do... in whatever way you do it is the following: Format a usb flash drive, either fat32 or ntfs create a partition that is large enough to host the windows installation (give or take 3GB for 64bit, aroudn 2.5gb for 32bit) and mark that partition as active/bootable. Since this can be done with windows, but just as well with a tool like gparted, you should be able to do the same in debian. Once you have created that partition, mount the iso that you download, and copy all files starting from the root, into the root of the usb flash drive. That's all there's to it. There is a method that i found in various places,that is almost the same that the man of technet has said. But,there is a step,that in that method is done,that i don't know if it is really necessary,or not. Not allways dd works.Basically, the missing step was to write a proper boot sector to the usb stick, which can be done from linux with ms-sys. This works with the Win7 retail version. Here is the complete rundown again: Install ms-sys Check what device your usb media is asigned - here we will assume it is /dev/sdb. Delete all partitions, create a new one taking up all the space, set type to NTFS, and set it bootable: *# cfdisk /dev/sdb* Create NTFS filesystem: *# mkfs.ntfs -f /dev/sdb1* Mount iso and usb media: *# mount -o loop win7.iso /mnt/iso # mount /dev/sdb1 /mnt/usb* Copy over all files: *# cp -r /mnt/iso/* /mnt/usb/* Write Windows 7 MBR on usb stick: *# ms-sys -7 /dev/sdb* ...and you're done. Shouldn't the usb work without doing the last step "# ms-sys -7 /dev/sdb" or to make the usb bootable , is a must , not only to mark the partition as bootable ? Would be better use rsync instead of cp -r ? All this steps should be done as root, i suppose , or if not , chmod to 664 and chown the directories where are mounted the usb and the iso, no ? But i suppose that the easier thing is to copy the data as root , and that this will not affect to the data. Has anyone tried this method or some similar like copying the iso with dd ?

  • "The Operation Failed." accepting METHOD: PUBLISH iCalendar files in .pst account

    if I create a new Mail Profile using the Internet E-mail wizard, ie, creating a new local .pst account, and then try to add a .ics iCalendar file with a METHOD of PUBLISH to the calendar of that account, I get the error "The Operation Failed." If I change any of the above it works ok, eg, if I use an Exchange account or METHOD: REQUEST in the iCalendar file. I'm using Outlook 2010 on Windows 7 but I think the user that originally reported this was using Outlook 2007. Does anyone have any idea of why this might be? Thanks, Jamie Kitson

    I'm redoing my firewall configuration with more restrictive policies and I would like to determine the provenance (and/or destination) of some outgoing connections. I have an issue because they come from svchost.exe and go to web content/application delivery providers - or similar: 5 IP in range: 82.96.58.0 - 82.96.58.255 --> Akamai Technologies akamaitechnologies.com 3 IP in range: 93.150.110.0 - 93.158.111.255 --> Akamai Technologies akamaitechnologies.com 2 IP in range: 87.248.194.0 - 87.248.223.255 --> LLNW Europe 2 llnw.net 205.234.175.175 --> CacheNetworks, Inc. cachefly.net 188.121.36.239 --> Go Daddy Netherlands B.V. secureserver.net So is it possible to know which service does a particular connection? Or what's your recommendation about the rules applied to these ones? (Comodo Firewall & Windows 7) Update: netstat -ano & tasklist /svc help me a little but they are many services in one svchost.exe so it's still an issue. moreover the service names returned by "tasklist /svc" are not easy readable. (All the connections are HTTP (port 80) but I don't think it's relevant)

  • UAC being turned off once a day on Windows 7

    I have strange problem on my HP laptop. This began to happen recently. Whenever I start my machine, Windows 7 Action Center displays the following warning: You need to restart your computer for UAC to be turned off. Actually, this does not happen if it happened once on a specific day. For example, when I start the machine in the morning, it shows up; but it never shows up in the subsequent restarts within that day. On the next day, the same thing happens again. I never disable UAC, but obviously some rootkit or virus causes this. As soon as I get this warning, I head for the UAC settings, and re-enable UAC to dismiss this warning. This is a bothersome situation as I can't fix it. First, I have run a full scan on the computer for any probable virus and malware/rootkit activity, but TrendMicro OfficeScan said that no viruses have been found. I went to an old Restore Point using Windows System Restore, but the problem was not solved. What I have tried so far (which couldn't find the rootkit): TrendMicro OfficeScan Antivirus AVAST Malwarebytes' Anti-malware Ad-Aware Vipre Antivirus GMER TDSSKiller (Kaspersky Labs) HiJackThis RegRuns UnHackMe SuperAntiSpyware Portable Tizer Rootkit Razor (*) Sophos Anti-Rootkit SpyHunter 4 There are no other strange activities on the machine. 8204 bytes As suggested in this very similar question, I have run full scans (+boot time scans) with RegRun and UnHackMe, but they also did not find anything. I have carefully examined all entries in the Event Viewer, but there's nothing wrong. Now I know that there is a hidden trojan (rootkit) on my machine which seems to disguise itself quite successfully. Note that I don't have the chance to remove the HDD, or reinstall the OS as this is a work machine subjected to certain IT policies on a company domain. Despite all my attempts, the problem still remains. I strictly need a to-the-point method or a pukka rootkit remover to remove whatever it is. I don't want to monkey with the system settings, i.e. disabling auto runs one by one, messing the registry, etc. EDIT 2: I have found an article which is closely related to my trouble: Malware can turn off UAC in Windows 7; “By design” says Microsoft.   • Why won't my service start, and why doesn't upstart output any errors?

    I am trying to 'start gunicorn' as a service via upstart as user ale. I'm using gunicorn/flask on ubuntu 12.04 w/ init (upstart 1.5) Here is my /etc/init/gunicorn.conf setuid btw setgid flask script export HOME=/home/btw export WORKON_HOME=$HOME/.virtualenvs . $HOME/.virtualenvs/default/bin/activate cd $HOME/flask workon default gunicorn -c gunicorn.py bw:app end script It doesn't output anything other than gunicorn start/running, process 12992. If i then do 'status gunicorn' I get stop/waiting. any ideas on how to debug this? I tried following http://upstart.ubuntu.com/wiki/Debugging but it didn't help. If I do the following as user ale in the app's directory: 1. workon default 2. gunicorn -c gunicorn.py bw:app then Gunicorn runs fine. Here is ~/flask/gunicorn.py: bind = "0.0.0.0:8080" workers = 3 backlog = 2048 worker_class = "gevent" debug = True daemon = False pidfile ="/tmp/gunicorn.pid" log_level = "debug" accesslog = "/var/log/gunicorn/access.log" errorlog = "/var/log/gunicorn/error.log" user = "btw" group = "flask" Also, /var/log/error.log doesn't show anything new when I try to start the Gunicorn service. If I start it manually, it shows that the workers have been loaded, etc. Thanks for any help / suggestions!

When the external storage down for a reason we have unstable behaviours. So we made some tests. In Windows Server 2008 We closed external storage physically. MySQL service stoped and we could not reach the server. Then we opened the storage unit and we could not start service until we reconfigured MySQL. We made storage unit offline from operating system. After 3-4 minutes and some insert trials(some insert trials succeded) MySQL service stoped and we could not reach the server. Then we made storage unit online and we could start the service(not automatically). In Windows Server 2003 We made storage unit offline. After 3-4 minutes and some insert trials(some insert trials succeded) MySQL service stoped and we could not reach the server. Then we made storage unit online we could not start the service until we reinstalled MySQL. Before reinstall we tried to reconfigure but it did not work. We closed external storage physically. MySQL service stoped and we could not reach the server. After that we opened the storage unit and we could start service(not automatically) We expect service to autostart after storage unit is online/open. But these tests show unstable behaviors. Is there any solutions to this.

  • How to stop OS X from switching input method (keyboard layout) automatically?

    After using the wireless keyboard that comes with the iMac, I have switched to a MS Ergo Natural 4000 one. Surprisingly I had to install extra software as OS X could not work out which keyboard I had. After which I went into sys prefs and set the main input method to be "British - Microsoft" first and "Swiss German" second (what the wireless keyboard is), on the "input sources" tab: However... OS X keeps resetting my input method back to Swiss German which is driving me bananas. I have the flag thingy top right so I can see when this changes. N.B. I have "input source options" set to "use the same one in all documents" which I am assuming means keep the language the same for anything running. It also flips back on the login page. Does anyone know how to fix this?
