  • Thoughts on using Alpha Five v10 with Codeless AJAX for building an AJAX database app in a short amo

    I need to build an AJAX application against our MS SQL Server database for my company. the app has to have user permissions and reporting and is pretty complex. I am really under the gun in terms of time. The company that I work for needs the app for an important project launch. A colleague/friend of mine in a different company recommended that I look at a product from Alpha Software called Alpha Five v10 with Codeless AJAX. He has told me that he has used it extensively and that it saves him a "serious boat load of time" and he says that he has not run into limitations because you can also write your own JavaScript or you wire in jQuery. Before I commit to Alpha Five v10, I would like to get any other opinions? Thanks. Norman Stern. Chicago

    In TFS 2008, I am trying to modify a build script (TFSBuild.proj). I get the following warning: The element 'PropertyGroup' in namespace 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/developer/msbuild/2003' has invalid child element 'TeamProject' in namespace 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/developer/msbuild/2003'. Which is correct, The element PropertyGroup does indeed have a child called TeamProject. I’m making an assumption that this is caused because of the following line: <Project DefaultTargets="DesktopBuild" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/developer/msbuild/2003" ToolsVersion="3.5"> The Xml Namespace doesn’t appear to exist as far as I can tell, although it looks like a standard one. Please can anyone tell me if this is a standard XML namespace, how or where I can view its contents and whether the warning that I am seeing may be caused by it?

So orderID is a FOREIGN KEY in the Products Table please help thanks justin

  • Linking error while using Qt static built libraries

    I hope this is not a duplicate. Recently I'm developing a native C++ application using Qt 4.8.3 and VS2008. Since clients run the application on their naked machines, they need to install VC++ 2008 Redistribution package. So I decided to make it statically linked. I changed my project settings (C/C++ Code Generation Runtime Library) to /MTd. Also I compiled Qt again, this time using following commands for a static building; originally found on this blog Static Qt with static CRT (VS 2008) 1- replaced -MD with -MT in lines QMAKE_CFLAGS_RELEASE and QMAKE_CFLAGS_DEBUG in %QDIR%\mkspecs\win32-msvc2008\qmake.conf 2- nmake confclean 3- configure -static -platform win32-msvc2008 -no-webkit 4- nmake sub-src I compiled Qt successfully. But when I tried again to compile my application, it gave me some strange errors. 1>Linking... 1>qtmaind.lib(qtmain_win.obj) : error LNK2005: "public: bool __thiscall QBasicAtomicInt::deref(void)" (?deref@QBasicAtomicInt@@QAE_NXZ) already defined in QtCored4.lib(QtCored4.dll) 1>qtmaind.lib(qtmain_win.obj) : error LNK2005: "public: bool __thiscall QBasicAtomicInt::operator!=(int)const " (??9QBasicAtomicInt@@QBE_NH@Z) already defined in QtCored4.lib(QtCored4.dll) 1>qtmaind.lib(qtmain_win.obj) : error LNK2005: "public: __thiscall QString::~QString(void)" (??1QString@@QAE@XZ) already defined in QtCored4.lib(QtCored4.dll) I changed some lib files but with each change, situation got worse; for example I tried to use QtCored.lib instead of QtCored4.lib because it is newly created after compilation.   • VS 2010 Layer Diagram Validation Error is Showing A Dependency That Doesn't Even Exist (AV0001)

    I'm getting the following validation error on my layer diagram Error 65 AV0001 : Invalid Dependency : Weld.Interface.Core(Assembly) -- Weld.Interface(Namespace) Layers: Application Framework Core, Application Framework | Dependencies: Namespace Reference D:\Projects\Windows Projects\Weld\Weld\ModelingProject1\Weld.layerdiagram 0 0 ModelingProject1 Weld.Interface.Core: This assembly and namespace does not have a reference to Weld.Interface and only references .NET Framework classes Weld.Interface: This assembly and namespace does not have a reference to Weld.Interface There is no dependancy between these two layers in the dependency diagram. I am confused why I am getting this error. No dependency in the project or code, and no dependency is even setup in the layer diagram. Somehow the Validation logic in the layer diagram is seeing a non existant dependency and saying it is an error. Any ideas what either I might have missed or what is causing this problem?

    Hi, I got a crash dump (both mdmp and hdmp) for my application (written in C++) captured using dr. watson. After analyzing the dumps through windbg, I concluded that the crash had occurred in the catch() itself :) What I need to know is what exception caused the the failure in the first place i.e. I need that penultimate(last but one th) exception that had occurred. I know I could get the same by some other ways, but is there a specific command with which we could get the list of errors\exceptions occurring from the dump file. Thanks. --Samrat Patil

One problem is that the project relies heavily on the /DELAYLOAD option for functions that aren't always used, and where the proper dll is located at runtime.   • Should you remove all warnings in your Verilog or VHDL design? Wh or why not?

    In (regular) software I have worked at companies where the gcc option -Wall is used to show all warnings. Then they need to be dealt with. With non-trivial FPGA/ASIC design in Verilog or VHDL there are often many many warnings. Should I worry about all of them? Do you have any specific techniques to suggest? My flow is mainly for FPGAs (Altera and Xilinx in particular), but I assume the same rules would apply to ASIC design, possibly more so due to the inability to change the design after it is built.

  • Prevent CSS Validation for just 1 line

    I have a problem practically identical to this question, but I'm looking for a different solution. Instead of turning it off globally, I'd like to just disable it for a single line. I know I have seen many examples where various techniques are used to suppress different warnings, and I am looking for one that I can put in my CSS to suppress this one. Examples of ways to suppress warnings and such #pragma warning disable 659 or [SuppressMessage("Microsoft.Usage", "CA2214:DoNotCallOverridableMethodsInConstructors", Justification = "I have a good reason.")]. The CSS I want it to be quiet about has some CSS3 stuff in it which is why it's understandably complaining: .round { border-radius: 5px; -webkit-border-radius: 5px; -moz-border-radius: 5px; } So any idea how to make my Error 1 Validation (CSS 2.1): 'border-radius' is not a known CSS property name error go away? I'd rather not lose all of my CSS validations but I do want it to ignore this one "problem".

    After installing VS 2010 trial I am getting this error "Generic Host Process For Win32 Services Encountered A Problem and needs to close. When this message pops my computer just stuck and I can not even restart it normally. I have found one fix on net but after that fix I can not access my LAN. This fix change these values in registry. HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\netbt\parameters TransportBindName HKLM\Software\Microsoft\OLE EnableDCOM If I revert these registry changes then I again start getting 'Generic Host Process For Win32 Services' I have uninstall VS 2010 but this problem persist. This problem is not because of any virus. Any help to fix this or I have to re install Windows. Thanks.

There are several possible reasons: The file name or path does not exist The file is being used by another program The workbook you are trying to save has the same name as a... I know the path is correct, I also know that the file is not open anywhere else. The workbook has the same name as the one I'm trying to save over but it should just overwrite.     I'm still feeling my way around C++, and am a complete ATL newbie, so I apologize if this is a basic question. I'm starting with an existing VC++ executable project that has functionality I'd like to expose as an ActiveX object (while sharing as much of the source as possible between the two projects). I've approached this by adding an ATL project to the solution in question, and in that project have referenced all the .h and .cpp files from the executable project, added all the appropriate references, and defined all the preprocessor macros. So far so good. But I'm getting a compiler error in one file (HideDesktop.cpp). (The ATL AX project, naturally enough, defines _ATL_DLL, but I can't see where that would make a difference.) My current workaround is to use a normal "dumb" pointer, like so: IActiveDesktop *pIActiveDesktop; HRESULT hr = ::CoCreateInstance(CLSID_ActiveDesktop, NULL, // no outer unknown CLSCTX_INPROC_SERVER, IID_IActiveDesktop, (void**)&pIActiveDesktop); And that works, provided I remember to release it.   • Compiling .NET component that uses a non specific required version of a 3rd Party Vendor component

    If someone were to develop a .NET component that relied on non specific versions of a vendor DLL - let's say it worked with My3rdPartyComponent.dll which is a .NET assembly, but it didn't matter which version. Some instances of classes found in this component would need to be passed into my component. Developers would reference my component dll but not have access to the source code. Basically, I want to be able to require the user to pass in an instance of 3rdPartyComponent.MyClass to my component functions but I do not care if it's version 1.1, 2.2, 2.23.980, etc of the 3rd party dll. Is there a way to do this while still typing the parameter I want to be passed in to my component? I don't want to use Object as the reference. In my component project I could specify SpecificVersion=True on the assembly reference. Will this solve my problem or will there be other 'dll hell' issues to deal with that I am not seeing?

  • web.config transforms not being applied on either publish or build installation package

    Today I started playing with the web.config transforms in VS 2010. To begin with, I attempted the same hello world example that features in a lot of the blog posts on this topic - updating a connection string. I created the minimal example shown below (and similar to the one found in this blog). The problem is that whenever I do a right-click - "Publish", or a right-click - "Build Deployment Package" on the .csproj file, I'm not getting the correct output. Rather than a transformed web.config, I'm getting no web.config, and instead the two transform files are included. What am I doing wrong? Any help gratefully received! I looked in Tools - Options - Text Editor, where you'd expect to find it, but I couldn't find anything relevant there.

  • Test multiple domains using ASP.NET development server

    I am developing a single web application that will dynamically change its content depending on which domain name is used to reach the site. Multiple domains will point to the same application. I wish to use the following code (or something close) to detect the domain name and perform the customizations: string theDomainName = Request.Url.Host; switch (theDomainName) { case "www.clientone.com": // do stuff break; case "www.clienttwo.com": // do other stuff break; } I would like to test the functionality of the above using the ASP.NET development server. I created mappings in the local HOSTS file to map www.clientone.com to 127.0.0.1, and www.clienttwo.com to 127.0.0.1. I then browse to the application with the browser using www.clinetone.com (etc). When I try to test this code using the ASP.net development server the URL always says localhost. It does NOT capture the host entered in the browser, only localhost. Is there a way to test the URL detection functionality using the development server? Thanks.

  • Log4cxx sample program and steps to compile

    Hi guys Hoping someone can help out.. I've been scouring the net for a simple how-to to get a good log4cxx program working, with steps on setting up the libraries, dependants, directives, library paths etc etc.. as of yet i've found a lot of valuable but disjointed information.. trying to pull it all together has been a bit of a nightmare, so i'm reaching out and wondering if any kind soul knows of, or could put together a simple how-to, to get a standard win32 console app running with either static or dynamically linked release mode log4cxx.. I have win32 binary releases of the libraries, and thanks to a very cool dude from "Must a blog have a name" I have a win32 project which can build log4cxx.. i just cant bloody use it :) It would be really helpful to me, and probably to others, to be able to refer to something like this and not 20 different pages, with different lists of libraries needed to download and install.. :) Here's hoping Thanks guys J
