  • ASP.NET Treeview Control not expanding on click

    I having an issue with the ASP.NET Treeview control. I create the treeview just fine but the nodes will not expand or collapse. I see there is a javascript error but it is for line 1 character 0 of the webpage, there is nothing at line 1 character 0. I am using the ASP:Treeview control in conjunction with the Telerik controls, but I'm not sure if that is an issue. I saw there was a similar question here but the answer is not pertinent to my site. Has anyone run into this issue before? I've tried searching Google and tried a number of proposed solutions but so far none have worked. Thank you,

  • Unable to set .NET 4 on Application Pool from remote, works locally on server

    I have setup Remote Administration for IIS successfully and connected to it. For some reason .NET Framework 4 doesn't show up as an option when configuring the Application Pools from remote even though .NET 4 is installed on both server and client (not that client should matter). If I login to the server with RDP and configure the Application Pools it work as intended, the option shows up. Even more odd is if I edit an Application Pool that already runs .Net 4 it shows up as an alternative (kind of strangly formatted text though, just says v4.0 instead of .NET Framework v4.0.30319 ) How should I proceed to solve this?

    Hey Guys, I'm looking for a way to put real time features into my web site. The idea is asynchronous communication between 2 people - like a chat session. If I use the chat example - I'd like the second person to know that the first one has sent a message to him, without refreshing or doing something active on the web page. Polling is not a good idea here - so is there any other solution? the back-end could be ASP.NET or PHP (ASP.NET preferred). Help would be much appreciated, Thanks, Roman

  • generating an asp.net web application dll requirement list

    I'm trying to set up a web app (32bit on ii7/win7, 32bit setting is enabled, everything is compiled to x86, using vs2008), but there's clearly some dll module loading issue happening. I've been watching procmon and fusion logs but I'm not seeing the name of the missing dll. I'm a complete newbie to asp.net (but fairly heavy experience on other platforms). I know I can call depends.exe on a binary to see what the dependancies are, but how do I do it for asp.net? specifically, is it possible to get a list of the dlls that iis7 loads for my application?

    So here's the deal I'm working on a project that I had originally focused on Zend Framework, But now I want to get into ASP.NET MVC and boy lets just say it's good and a great start though i'm still at the beginning stage of it. But I am having issues with passing Data From My Controller to the Master / Layout Page. Now in Zend I am able to determine which controller and which action I am in through a helper I created. Now I want to implement the same functionality in this ASP.NET MVC application. So my Master Layout Page knows which Controller I am in and hence highilighting the navigation for it. I am using a straight custom html li a structure navigation. Any help on this specific topic would be greatly appreciated.

What I have is a list of DateTime values and I need to display them a a nice way. Given that I'm a total beginner with ASP, simpler really is better. (I'd rather not, I'm willing to hack together something with StringBuilder and <table> if it's easier). p.s. I have no budget, so non-free controls will only be of use to other readers.

    Hello, This question mixes client-side scripting with server-side parsing. In some cases, I'm writing a cookie to the user's browser using the document.cookie property. In other cases, I'm writing the same cookie to the user's browser through the ASP.NET Response object. When I'm writing the HttpCookie on the server-side, I am using the Values collection (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-US/library/system.web.httpcookie.values%28v=VS.80%29.aspx) to store key/value pairs in the cookie. I would also like to be able to write key-value pairs to the cookie through JavaScript. How do I create cookies with Key/Value pairs via JavaScript that ASP.NET can parse? Thank you!

  • Unable to install .NET Framework 3.5 to my XP machine

    I have an application that requires .NET 3.5, but I can't install it. The installer quits saying "it has encoutered a problem during setup. If I look at some of the error logs in the tmp directory I see. Error occurred while initializing fusion. It seems that I have 2.0 SP1 installed. Any ideas how I can get it to work? I went through the temp directory and found these references to the error. Any ideas?     This is not real, it's just a project i'm working on I've created a Hotel Management system in C# WindowsForm, it allows staff members to Add/Edit/Update Rooms,Reservation and Customers etc. Along side this Windows-form i'm creating an ASP.net WebSite where customers should be able to register and reserve rooms online. I've come to the point where i need to create some-type of membership method for this website which should correspond to the membership of the windows form. However i'm not sure what method of membership would be best suited for this, i have looked into the asp.net membership, it's what i want however it creates it's own schema and i don't know how i can relate the information to my customers table and c#windows form. I would ideally like it to resemble a real-life situation as much as possible anyway, am i going about this the wrong way? in terms of the c# windows-form what other technology would a business use to manage a system like this where they can add/edit/update there system and have a website which relates. What are my options here?

  • jQuery Ajax call for buttons on a list

    I have a list of data that i have in a view from an asp.net mvc application. It's a list of stock and I have two images (a plus and a minus) on the end of each row which will allow me to increase or decrease stock quantity. It works fine at present with a call to the mvc action but since the list is long I want to use jQuery and AJAX to have the call go without a refresh. I want to do this with unobtrusive javascript so don't want onclick handlers on my images. Since I'm just starting out with jQuery I have no idea how I can iterate all the images and add the function.   • How to use SOAP in asp.net mvc

    A 3rd party site sends its notifications after my web application has completed some action in order to notify me of its succes. Receiving a notification item requires a response back to the 3rd party server (URL) with the a containing the value "accepted". I have never user SOAP and with the basic info found I'm a bit lost for the case of asp.net mvc. Are there any good links showing the principle of receiving and sending SOAP responses? Tutorials / information may be presented in other languages such as java, asp.net (classic) or something. I need to get a general idea since googling on SOAP is not giving me anything for the past few hours. thanks in advance.

    I have a Windows server that is intermittently losing the ability to lookup DNS information. I'm trying to get to the root cause of the problem but in the mean time I'd like to be able to monitor whether the server can perform lookups. Basically, it should attempt to lookup some common hostnames and the display 'Success' if the lookups are successful. I see lots of examples of doing this with third party components in ASP.NET but I would prefer to be able to do this with a single ASP.Net script that would be portable and not require anything additional be installed.

    jQuery has the very cool feature/method ".data", i wonder if there is a way to have the data in the code so that jQuery can use it when the rendering of html is done. Suppose i have a repeater and looping out children, and i want to add some data to those children without using classes etc. Will i have to add javascript to that repeater just to add stuff to the "data of jquery" or is there some better way?

    How can I stop ASP.Net from encoding anchor tags in List Items when the page renders? I have a collection of objects. Each object has a link property. I did a foreach and tried to output the links in a BulletedList, but ASP encoded all the links. Any idea? Thanks! Here's the offending snippet of code.     Persistent data structures depend on the sharing of structure for efficiency. For an example, see here. How can I preserve the structure sharing when I serialize the data structures and write them to a file or database? If I just naively traverse the datastructures, I'll store the correct values, but I'll lose the structure sharing. I'd like to be able to save data-structures with shared components to a file, restore them, and still have most of the structure shared in the restored data.

When implementing the same logic for the 2nd application when I press logout in one application, the second application is redirected to the login page. How can I fix this? Best regards
