• Why do Blogger pageview stats and AdSense pageviews differ?

  I run many blogs for online earnings but my blog in blogger page views: Total Pageviews 90,085 And that same blog page views in Google AdSense Total Pageviews 19,347 are different why? they reduced show for earnings? • How to set up router with DSL?

  I have a Verizon DSL connection. I am new to being the one who has to maintain the net. We have the Verizon modem and plugged into it is a belkin router. I did not alter the configuration on either of the devices. We get a net connection, though I have issues joining any form of online game. Some refuse to connect, others are slow. I have read that perhaps I need to use the modem in "bridge mode" to the wireless router? Would that fix my issues? Or do I just have to open ports or something similar. I really have no clue what could be the problem. Could someone advice me how to get this working with Ubuntu?

• libstdc++-6.dll not found. [migrated]

  I have been working on a project(a game to be specific) and I feel that I should start over with different libraries. So when doing this I reinstalled Code::Blocks and setup my new libraries and includes. But as of now Im having a problem starting u[ my new project to test if all of the includes work. This problem is: libstdc++-6.dll was not found. At first i wondered if I could just find this file online, but its nowhere to be found(or at least the many places I have searched...) Soon after, I tried loading up my old project, and the same problem happened again(wierd... ._.) I was thinking its maybe my compiler, so I used my older compiler and it did the same thing! At this moment I held the problem off for tomorrow(which is today) So my question is: If anyone else had this problem, how would you solve it? Im using Code::Blocks with MinGW as the compiler on Windows Vista 32 bit.

  I currently have an "un-managed" (no help from hosting company) windows vps server. I am working on a good backup solution to return my site back online within a few hours. I am pretty comfortable backing up and restoring my database, however what is a good solution for backing up my VPS for easy recovery? Should I just use windows backup and create an image? I'm open to suggestions. Additionally, has anyone had to restore an entire VPS before? Is it reasonable to have it back up and running in a few hours?

• Should I understand SVN before I jump to GIT?

  I work in a department where no one has ever used source control before, including myself. I am trying to push the concept. I have spent a little while researching SVN. I some basics learned. I can Create/update/checkout/commit with command line and from Tortoise. I am starting to learn how to tag and branch but still confused a lot about conflicts between branches and trunk etc. I am still learning, but I do not have a physical person who can show me anything. Its all from books/tutorials and trial and error. From what I have read online it seems like git is the better thing to know, but its also more complicated. I don't want to overwhelm myself. Should I continue to master svn before moving to git or would I be wiser to just jump to git now? Are there pros and cons to both approaches?

• Getting wireless to work on Ubuntu 11.10 (on a mac machine)

  I have a 2008 white 13.3 inch macbook that now solely runs ubuntu. However, I cannot get wifi or cable to work on it. Regarding the cable, it atleast tries to connect but eventually disconnects from the wired network. Here is the output for lspci (pastebin) I tried installing b43-fwcutter and firmware-b43 but get errors. (I loaded them from a thumb drive and tried sudo dpkg -i). I cannot understand these instructions from the documentation, as I cannot locate the pool directory. b43-fwcutter is located on the Ubuntu install media under ../pool/main/b/b43-fwcutter/ and patch is located under ../pool/main/p/patch/ or both in the official repositories online. Note: In some versions (10.04 and 11.04 at least) there is not a /pool/main/p/patch/ If this file is missing then you don't need it. In this case you only need to install /pool/main/b/b43-fwcutter by following the instructions below.

• Help comparing Cocos2d and Unity3d for this project [closed]

  I will not go into details, but I would like to hear your opinions about this: Essentially, my project will be a 2d game, with lots of complex levels, where some might be simple and others might be a bit more deep, with physics, etc. We want to implement our very own online structure: logging in, leaderboards, achievements, friends etc with our own servers. This means no OpenFeint nor GameCenter at all. We expect this game to be very large in both graphics and audio. We wish to use in-app purchases. Now, we considered two options. Cocos2d and Unity3d. We need help deciding using the factors I mentioned before (networking, good performance even for a large game in terms of graphics and audio like this, in-app purchases, etc) which option would fit better this? Technically, both options can create 2d games. I'd like to hear your opinion.

• Problems after upgrading from 10.04 to 12.04

  I upgraded to 12.04.1 from 10.04 recently and am running the Gnome Classic (no effects) desktop. I spent a couple of days tweaking the appearance and behaviour but there are two issues that I can't resolve. The mouse cursor frequently disappears, especially when scrolling through web pages or hovering over links/icons with tooltips. Moving the mouse brings the pointer back but it vanishes again almost immediately. Note I don't have unclutter or Parallels installed. The screen no longer fades to black when left idle for too long - it just cuts out. Bad news when watching content online. Any tips greatly appreciated. Cheers...

• Ubuntu 12.04 upgrade (from 11.10) removed all packages installed

  I upgraded from Ubuntu 11.10 to 12.04 using bootable USB. After upgrade, all non-default packages from 11.10 are gone. For ex, I did not have Chromium, Eclipse etc. Although, I could see these in the History in the "Ubuntu Software Center". Is there any way I can retrieve all these packages (even reverting back to 11.10 is also fine with me)? What could be a possible reason for this (We plan to upgrade a few more machines)? Do programmers always know approximately how many lines in each of his programs, and keep record of them? What is the relation between " lines of the longest working program " in a language and familiarity with it? Typically, how many lines will indicate the programmer being excellent, good, fair, or unfamiliar with the language? Is knowing "lines of the longest working program" really helpful?

Now more and more people are requestion an App, I told them that I have no time and experience to develope Apps with many functions for such complex communities I am running, but then the users told me what would be enough for them and this sounds already simpler to me: An app to install on Android / iOS just to be able to login (+ autologin), so they appear always online in the community when they have internet connection. Then only 1 function like a counter of new activities regarding their user account (new messages, new replies, etc..), and if they click on the app then a browser window will open to read the info at the main website. So, what you think, it will be a big thing to develope such an app for the members? Is there a big diffrence between developing for Android and iOS? How to test the App if you don't have an Android or iOS phone in example?

  For some reason YouTube videos in my website do not get the fullscreen button, even if I added the parameter allowFullScreen set to true both in the object and embed tag.   I want to create a big multiplayer world in UDK and I'm having a few difficulties. I created the biggest terrain possible but then any terrain related action I do takes forever. However, I've seen videos of people make same size terrain and working without a problem. My pc is strong enough, so maybe someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong. I want to make it even bigger then the biggest terrain size, so I was thinking of doing level streaming but then I read that streaming is working server side which means if I have a player on every terrain all terrains will still be loaded and I want to save as much memory possible so it will work well online.
