• Minimal way to render Wiki Syntax (for example MoinMoin Wiki)

  I enjoy using to Wikis to document all kind of stuff (recently I used MoinMoin, so I am used to that syntax). No I am looking for a more light weight solution, for documents were setting up a moinmoin server is to much hassle. What is the "easiest" way to render a .txt file in Wiki syntax. (for example by displaying it, or converting it to HTML). it should work on Linux, but the more platform in-dependent, the better. Maybe there is even a Javascript based solution?

• Visual C#, Large Arrays, and LOH Fragmentation. What is the accepted convention?

  I have an other active question HERE regarding some hopeless memory issues that possibly involve LOH Fragmentation among possibly other unknowns. What my question now is, what is the accepted way of doing things? If my app needs to be done in Visual C#, and needs to deal with large arrays to the tune of int[4000000], how can I not be doomed by the garbage collector's refusal to deal with the LOH? It would seem that I am forced to make any large arrays global, and never use the word "new" around any of them. So, I'm left with ungraceful global arrays with "maxindex" variables instead of neatly sized arrays that get passed around by functions. I've always been told that this was bad practice. What alternative is there? Is there some kind of function to the tune of System.GC.CollectLOH("Seriously") ? Are there possibly some way to outsource garbage collection to something other than System.GC? Anyway, what are the generally accepted rules for dealing with large (85Kb) variables?

• Deployment of SQL compact Edition (SDF files) using Setup project

  Hi, I have a C#.NET desktop application using SQL Compact edition as data store. The application should be used by any user on the machine and all should be seeing the same data ( data should not different per user). I am wondering where should I deploy the SDF file? User's Personal data folder (My Documents) means each user will have a separate database. Deploying on the same folder as the application causes vista to copy the file to \USers\Appdata\local\VirtualStore\ and it seems to make different copies for each user. Where is it best to deploy the SDF file to ensure all users are looking at the same data?

  I am having a lot of trouble finding good information on how to call a standard SOAP/WSDL web service with Android. All I've been able to find are either very convoluted documents and references to "kSoap2" and then some bit about parsing it all manually with SAX. ... Ok, that's fine but it's 2008 so I figured there should be some good library for calling standard web services. The Web Service is just basically one created in NetBeans. I would like to have IDE support for generating the plumbing classes. I just need the easiest/most-elegant way to contact a WSDL based web service from an Android based phone. Thanks.

• QPainter::drawText bounding boxes for each character

  I'm using QPainter to draw multiline text on QImage. However, I also need to display a colored rectangle around each character's bounding box. So I need to know the bounding box that each character had when being drawn. For example, for painter.drawText(QRect(100, 100, 200, 200), Qt::TextWordWrap, "line\nline2", &r); I would need to get 10 rectangles, taking into account newlines, word-wrap, tabs, etc. For example, the rectangle of the second 'l' would be below the rectangle of the first 'l', instead of being to the right of 'e', because of the newline.

  Is there a way to navigate between tabs in VS similar to the emacs iswtichb-mode or Firefox ubiquity switch tab mode (https://wiki.mozilla.org/Labs/Ubiquity/Ubiquity_0.1_Author_Tutorial#Switching_Tabs) ? In these apps, you just type a substring of the title of the tab (or buffer for emacs) to switch to this tab. For instance, to switch to a tab named "App_Code/Data/MyProgram.cs", you just invoke the tab switching command and then type "Progr" for instance to list all the tab whose name matches this string, including "MyProgram.cs". It's much easier to switch between tabs this way when you have a lot of documents open and when you now where to go (which is the case in most situation) Thank you !

I didn't have much luck googling for ":", too common of a punctuation mark :/ IDIV - Signed Integer Division Usage: IDIV src Modifies flags: (AF,CF,OF,PF,SF,ZF undefined) Signed binary division of accumulator by source. If source is a byte value, AX is divided by "src" and the quotient is stored in AL and the remainder in AH. • Why is C# winforms application not working without VS.NET installed?

  Hi folks, I have a winforms c# app that has an embedded webbrowser control inside it generated through VS.NET 2008. We sink events by inheriting our events class from HTMLDocumentEvents2. public class IEHTMLDocumentEvents : mshtml.HTMLDocumentEvents2 { public bool onclick(mshtml.IHTMLEventObj pEvtObj) { // Clicking on an input (checkbox, radio, button, image) if (pEvtObj.srcElement.tagName == "INPUT") { // The following will result in a null pointer without VS.NET installed HTMLInputElementClass input = pEvtObj.srcElement as HTMLInputElementClass; } } } The code above works fine when clicking on elements in the webbrowser control on our dev machines with VS.NET installed. However it fails to cast the pEvtObj.srcElement when VS.NET is not installed. This immediately starts working when we install the most basic VS.NET with C# that you can. To note: The rest of the c# app works fine, and you can browser the web through the control fine as well, just that the events like the above 'onclick' can't be handled properly. • WPF RichTextBox - Formatting of typed text

  I am applying formatting to selected tokens in a WPF RichTextBox. To do this I get a TextRange that encompasses the token that I would like to highlight. I will then change the color of the text like this: textRange.ApplyPropertyValue(TextElement.ForegroundProperty, Brushes.Blue); This is happening on the TextChanged event of my RichTextBox. The formatting is applied as expected, but continuing to type text will result in the new text inheriting the formatting that has already been applied to the adjacent word. I would like the formatting of any new text to use the default formatting options defined in the RichTextBox properties. Is this possible? Alternatively I could highlight all tokens that I don't want be blue with the default formatting options but this feels awkward to me.

  Use VS2010 silverlight business application template to createa defaut solution. Change authentication to Windows in Web.config and the code in app.xaml.cs to use windows authentication. Nothing else changed. Then run this app from vs2010 built-in web server, it is fine, I can see the login user info from windws(from a AD domain account) display on the top-right of the screen, like DomainName\userName. • Action -methods vs public methods in PHP frameworks

  There are plenty of PHP frameworks out there as many of you know, and I am interested in your thoughts on this: Zend Framework has so-called action controllers that must contain at least one action method, a method whose name ends in "Action". For example: public function indexAction() {} The word "Action" is important, without it you can't access the method directly via the URI. However, in some other frameworks like Kohana you have public and private methods, where public methods are accessible and private are not. So my question is which do you think is a better approach? From a secure point of view I would vote Zend's approach, but I am interested in knowing what others think.

  i built an appengine web app cricket.hover.in. The web app consists of about 15k url's linked in it, But even after a long time of my launch, no pages are indexed on google. Any base link place on my root site hover.in are being indexed with in minutes. but i placed the same link home page of root site a long back. but its of no use. can any one analyse , if there is any issue with cricket.hover.in or if bots have any issues with Google app engine actually tested the url using labs app of webmaster tools of google there the return is fine and html is clear. but when tested the same (cricket.hover.in) at the following urls its showing different results of failure www.dnsqueries.com/en/googlebot_simulator.php www.smart-it-consulting.com/internet/google/googlebot-spoofer/ but if i test some of my php or word press links at the above url's the results are good and fine. please help me with this.

• I have a error building a .vdproj on msbuild with nant

  I'm getting used to using nant for build releases. But I have started to use asp.net MVC, and i choice make the setup for installation with a .vdproj . But, when I call the: < exec program="${dotnet.dir}/msbuild.exe" commandline='"./Wum.sln" /v:q /nologo /p:Configuration=Release' / in nant, my result is: [exec] D:\My Documents\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\Wum\Wum.sln : warning MS B4078: The project file "Wum.Setup\Wum.Setup.vdproj" is not supported by MSBuild and cannot be built. Someone have some clue, or a solution? If I use the devenv, I'll have a problem? Thanks in advance.

C:\Users\Michael\Documents\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\search2\search2\MainPage.xaml.cs I'm doing this in a c# file for a XAML/Silverlight project, but can't imagine why that would make a difference. I can not find any reference to this issue on the web, and I had something similar to this working last month, but in a regular ASP.NET page, not in a Silverlight app.

  I'm currently setting up WSS 3.0 at my work, and I'm in the finance section of it. My question is, is there a possibility to encrypt and decrypt lists? And I mean entire lists, because the document libraries will have different types of files in it, from Word to Invoices in InfoPath. I know there is a solution in CodePlex called CryptoCollaboration, but whenever I deploy the solution in SharePoint I get a server error. Any alternatives? Or maybe you could fix the codeplex solution, that would be great! Thanks in advance!

• MathML or OMML to PNG w/ .NET?

  Are there any libraries which take MathML (or, even more preferably, OMML) and outputs a .PNG file? I am putting together an export process for .docx files and, as a part of this process, I'd like to extract equations and render them as .PNG files. Word 2007 does this natively when you save a document for the web, but so far, I have not been able to find a way to do this programmatically (if anyone has an answer for that, it would be even better). So the next best thing is to take the OMML and use the Microsoft provided XSL stylesheets and transform them to MathML. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find any (working) rendering libraries for either MathML or OMML. If there aren't any pure .NET libraries for this, I'll settle for just about anything that I can call from a commandline to output a .PNG from either MathML or OMML.

• CSS Frameworks like 960 and Blueprint?

  This is at the framework level, not dealing directly with CSS, so posting to SO. I just learned about the existence of CSS frameworks. 960 Grid System seems pretty awesome, then I found Blueprint, which seems to do the same thing and more. Is there a better word than "framework" to categorize this? Are there any other products in this category? In response to one of the comments http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1483565/link-to-a-site-designed-using-a-css-framework-blueprint-960-etc, "how many example frameworks do you want? he just listed two of them.", I'd love to have more than two examples, unless those are the only two in the running. Blueprint, which is "the original CSS framework" 960 Grid System, which is a tool to have a grid underlying your screen. YUI 2: Grids, similar to 960? The rest of YUI is more similar to JQuery?

  Hi guys I have a google apps account set up and even set up a simple hello world application from the available samples on the tutorial however I need to set it so I am able to interact with the google docs account associated with the account which has added my application. To interact with google docs I am aware that a token is requested from google upon authentication and verification of the account however that is in a situation where you code specifically for interacting with google docs - I'm talking about having access to the google docs of the account which has added my application so my application can be used to upload documents to the google docs and make references to them - basically my application is a resource management application and it needs to be able to store references to google docs.

• Download HTML and Images with WGet without first few lines

  I'm attempting to use wget with the -p option to download specific documents and the images linked in the HTML. The problem is, the site that is hosting the HTML has some non-html information preceding the HTML. This is causing wget to not interpret the document as HTML and doesn't search for images. Is there a way to have wget strip the first X lines and/or force searching for images? • What is an efficient way to write password cracking algorithm (python)

  This problem might be relatively simple, but I'm given two text files. One text file contains all encrypted passwords encrypted via crypt.crypt in python. The other list contains over 400k+ normal dictionary words. The assignment is that given 3 different functions which transform strings from their normal case to all different permutations of capitalizations, transforms a letter to a number (if it looks alike, e.g. G - 6, B - 8), and reverses a string. The thing is that given the 10 - 20 encrypted passwords in the password file, what is the most efficient way to get the fastest running solution in python to run those functions on dictionary word in the words file? It is given that all those words, when transformed in whatever way, will encrypt to a password in the password file. (svn-command, svn-hooks, etc.) I've seen code in the wild that does things like: require 'svn/core' and SVN.Repos.add(...), but the author of that module pulled his svn ruby tools via apt-get. This would not be an option for me, as I'm developing a windows/osx tool. Which gem am I after? From there, I'm happy to dig through code in lieu of documents, but with a call to gem query --name-matches svn --remote returning about 30 hits, I need to narrow it down a bit first.
