• Display two independent Tumblr blogs on one page?

  I'd like to display two independent Tumblr blogs next to each other on one page. I'd like them to look identical to their Tumblr theme. What's the best way to do this? I'm able to use JavaScript to import the content like this: <div id="tumblr1"> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://tumblr1.tumblr.com/js"></script> <div> <div id="tumblr2"> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://tumblr2.tumblr.com/js"></script> <div> But the content obviously won't be styled. • JSON URL from StackExchange API returning jibberish?

  I have a feeling I'm doing something wrong here, but I'm not quite sure I'f I'm missing a step, or am just having an encoding problem or something. • Flash not interacting with Javascripts in browser inside my app

  Hi , I have an application which embeds a xulrunner based browser. I have to load some flash content in it which talks to some javascripts to update the browser title. The flash content works fine when launched from Firefox but not inside my app. I tried a sample html file which has some javascripts and they work fine. It even works when I have the flash content on a server. It is only when I try to run js through flash present on my local machine that I see this problem. I guess it must have something to do with some security settings in xulrunner. Could somebody help me figure out what the problem might be? Thanks jbsp72

• How to get the current project directory or the bin directory and move a few level up?

  I have an ASP.Net MVC app, and i have some xsl files inside of the Content directory. I've try a few methods to get directory dynamically buy keep on coming short. So how do i get the directory to point to the Content/xsl folder? the closest that i came to was with this: this.GetType().Assembly.CodeBase which only returns the project DLL, but i can't figure out how to move up a few levels from there or what .net library to use to navigate around the path. there's no ../.. :( Basically i want to navigate to the Content/xsl folder which is at the same level of the Bin directory.

• What is the proper way to resolve Eclipse warning "isn't parameterized"?

  I'm trying to clean up some warnings in some old Java code (in Eclipse), and I'm unsure what the proper thing to do is in this case. The block looks more or less like this: Transferable content = getToolkit().getSystemClipboard().getContents( null ); java.util.List clipboardFileList = null; if( content.isDataFlavorSupported( DataFlavor.javaFileListFlavor ) ) { try { clipboardFileList = (java.util.List)content.getTransferData( DataFlavor.javaFileListFlavor); } /* Do other crap, etc. */ } The List generates a warning as it isn't parameterized, however, if I parameterize it with <File>, which I'm pretty sure is what it requires, it complains that it can't convert from Object to List<File>. I could merely suppress the unchecked warning for the function, but would prefer to avoid that if there is a "good" solution. Thoughts?

• Android application chrashes after "share" intent

  Hi, My app offers a "share/tell-a-friend" function. When the "share" button is pressed the following method is being called to open a list of apps, which can perform the action (Eg. Gmail, Twittroid, Facebook...): public void share() { Intent shareIntent = new Intent(android.content.Intent.ACTION_SEND); shareIntent.setType("text/plain"); shareIntent.putExtra(android.content.Intent.EXTRA_SUBJECT, getText(R.string.menu_share_subject)); shareIntent.putExtra(android.content.Intent.EXTRA_TEXT, getText(R.string.menu_share_body)); startActivity(Intent.createChooser(shareIntent, getText(R.string.menu_share_intent))); } The sharing functionality works basically. But when the sharing app (Facebook, Twitter, ...) tries to return to my app, a force close is thrown. I guess that my app gets closed in the background during the sharing process... at least that is what the debugger sais... Any ideas?

  I am having some problem understanding layouts in JavaFX. Consider following code. Stage { title: "ListView test" scene: Scene { width: 400 height: 400 content: [ VBox { content: [ ListView { height: 200 width: 200 items: ["item1", "item2"] } ] } ] } } I was expecting ListView showing up in 200 x 200 dimension but no matter how I tried to fix this, the width and height of ListView seemed fixed. But following code works for showing ListView as I intended. Stage { title: "ListView test" scene: Scene { width: 400 height: 400 content: [ ListView { height: 200 width: 200 items: ["item1", "item2"] } ] } } So, what is the problem here? I cannot use ListView within layouts?

Still, to easily have content updates it should be able to update it's content once connected to internet. It's quite some data ( around 300 full lines of text ) and I want it to be loaded, stored and visualized as optimized as possible. What's the best way to load in content once connected and how should I store it on the device?

  Hi all, to export some data i want to be able to generate an html output. I have some constant content to output, like html headers and footers. My question is how to deal with that ? Do I have to embed some template (in a ressource file) and parse it to make it dynamic ? Do I store my static content in some constant (is there a 255 char limit?) and append them while generating the dynamic content ? Do you have some hints, useful links, or best practices to share? • How can Perl's XML::Simple ignore HTML embedded in XML?

  I have an XML file that I am pulling from the web and parsing. One of the items in the XML is a 'content' value that has HTML. I am using XML::Simple::XMLin to parse the file like so: $xml= eval { $data->XMLin($xmldata, forcearray => 1, suppressempty=> +'') }; When I use Data::Dumper to dump the hash, I discovered that SimpleXML is parsing the HTML into the hash tree: 'content' = { 'div' = [ { 'xmlns' = 'http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml', 'p' = [ { 'a' = [ { 'href' = 'http://miamiherald.typepad.com/.a/6a00d83451b26169e20133ec6f4491970b-pi', 'style' = 'FLOAT: left', 'img' = [ etc..... This is not what I want. I want to just grab content inside of this entry. How do I do this?

  I have a trouble with selecting element attributes with jquery here is my HTML: <a class="myselector" rel="I need this value"></a> <div class="someClass" id="someID"> ...bunch of elements/content <input type="button" name="myInput" id="inputID" title="myInput Title" /> ...bunch of elements/content </div> ...bunch of elements/content Here I'm trying to get the rel value of myselector here is how I tried but its not working : $('#inputID').live('click',function(){ console.log($(this).closest('a.myselector').attr('rel')); }); Also tried this since all is wrapped in wrapper div : $('#inputID').live('click',function(){ console.log($(this).parent('div.wrapper').find('a.myselector').attr('rel')); }); I get undefined value in firebug in both cases, I use live because div#someID is loaded in the document its not there when page first loads. Any advice, how can I get my selector rel value?

• Is it possible to dynamically add webcontrols via jQuery???

  Currently I have a webform that has a series of links. What I'd like to be able to do is add a webcontrol's content when one of the links is clicked. Is this kind of thing even possible? If not, what's the best strategy for loading a set of controls (one textbox and one dropdown with values from one link, two textboxes and a checkbox from another link, etc.). I'd need to be able get the values of each of these controls on postback. Ideally, I'd like to be able to add that new content to an acordian control, most likely the jQuery UI acordian. So each clickable link would add new content to an acordian control. What's everybody's thoughts on this?

• How to move an element in a sorted list and keep the CouchDb write "atomic"

  I have elements of a list in couchdb documents. Let's say these are 3 elements in 3 documents: { "id" : "783587346", "type" : "aList", "content" : "joey", "sort" : 100.0 } { "id" : "358734ff6", "type" : "aList", "content" : "jill", "sort" : 110.0 } { "id" : "abf587346", "type" : "aList", "content" : "jack", "sort" : 120.0 } A view retrieves all "aList" documents and displays them sorted by "sort". Now I want to move the elements, when I want to move "jack" to the middle, I could do this atomic in one write and change it's sort key to 105.0. The view now returns the documents in the new sort order. After a lot of sorting I could end up with sort keys like 50.99999 and 50.99998 after some years and in extreme situations run out of digits? What can you recommend, is there a better way to do this? I'd rather keep the elements in seperate documents. Different users might edit different elements in parallel (which also can get tricky). Maybe there is a much better way?

  I set my wordpress permalink structure to /%postname%/ but now when I go to a page other than the home page (for example if I went to somelink.com/about) I lose all javascript references. I think this happens because the links to the js files are no longer right as it is in the imaginary folder "about".   I'm trying to use regex to add a span to the first word of content for a page, however the content contains HTML so I am trying to ensure just a word gets chosen. The content changes for every page. Current script is: preg_match('/(<(.*?)>)*/i',$page_content,$matches); $stripped = substr($page_content,strlen($matches[0])); preg_match('/\b[a-z]* \b/i',$stripped,$strippedmatch); echo substr($page_content, 0, strlen($matches[0])).'<span class="h1">'.$strippedmatch[0].'</span>'.substr($stripped, strlen($strippedmatch[0])); However if the $page_content is <p><span class="title">This is </span> my title!</p> Then my regex thinks the first word is "span" and adds the tags around that. Is there any way to fix this? (or a better way to do it).
