  • Linear Layout and weight in Android

    - by Janusz
    I always read about this funny weight value in the Android documentations. Now I want to try it for the first time but it isn't working at all. As I understand it from the documentations this layout: <LinearLayout android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:orientation="horizontal"> <Button android:text="Register" android:id="@+id/register" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:padding="10dip" weight="1" /> <Button android:text="Not this time" android:id="@+id/cancel" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:padding="10dip" weight="1" /> </LinearLayout> should create two buttons that are horizontally aligned and share the space equally. The problem is the two buttons don't grow to fill the space. The result is something like this: I would like the buttons to grow and fill the whole line.

  • Android Studio gradle-###-bin.zip vs. gradle-###-all.zip

    - by Jeff Brateman
    One developer on my team has some setting in Android Studio that replaces the distributionUrl entry in gradle/wrapper/gradle-wrapper.properties to use the gradle-###-all.zip, while my Android Studio changes it back to gradle-###-bin.zip. Basically, my diff always looks like: -distributionUrl=https\://services.gradle.org/distributions/gradle-1.12-all.zip +distributionUrl=https\://services.gradle.org/distributions/gradle-1.12-bin.zip This is annoying. What setting is it, and how do I change it?

  • Unable to import Eclipse project to Android studio

    - by Binoy Babu
    Whenever I try to import my Eclipse project to Android Studio I get the following error : You are using an old, unsupported version of Gradle. Please use version 1.8 or greater. Please point to a supported Gradle version in the project's Gradle settings or in the project's Gradle wrapper (if applicable.) Consult IDE log for more details (Help | Show Log) Im using Android Studio 0.3 and Ubuntu, I also tried it on a Windows 8 box with fresh install but getting the same error. I'm using default gradle wrapper and I tried checking and unchecking auto import option. Is this a bug? How can I get around it. How do I update gradle to 1.8 or check the current gradle version? My build.gradle is given below. buildscript { repositories { mavenCentral() } dependencies { classpath 'com.android.tools.build:gradle:0.6.3' // I also tried using 0.6.1 and 0.5.+ } } apply plugin: 'android' dependencies { compile fileTree(dir: 'libs', include: '*.jar') } android { compileSdkVersion 18 buildToolsVersion "18.0.1" sourceSets { main { manifest.srcFile 'AndroidManifest.xml' java.srcDirs = ['src'] resources.srcDirs = ['src'] aidl.srcDirs = ['src'] renderscript.srcDirs = ['src'] res.srcDirs = ['res'] assets.srcDirs = ['assets'] } // Move the tests to tests/java, tests/res, etc... instrumentTest.setRoot('tests') // Move the build types to build-types/<type> // For instance, build-types/debug/java, build-types/debug/AndroidManifest.xml, ... // This moves them out of them default location under src/<type>/... which would // conflict with src/ being used by the main source set. // Adding new build types or product flavors should be accompanied // by a similar customization. debug.setRoot('build-types/debug') release.setRoot('build-types/release') } }

  • NfcAdapter.getDefaultAdapter(this) returns null in emulator

    - by DixieFlatline
    I am trying to test ForegroundDispatch (http://developer.android.com/resources/samples/ApiDemos/src/com/example/android/apis/nfc/ForegroundDispatch.html) in emulator API 10 (Android 2.3.3). When i call NfcAdapter.getDefaultAdapter(this), i get null. Why is this so? Code: public class ForegroundDispatch extends Activity { private NfcAdapter mAdapter; private PendingIntent mPendingIntent; private IntentFilter[] mFilters; private String[][] mTechLists; private TextView mText; private int mCount = 0; @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedState) { super.onCreate(savedState); setContentView(R.layout.foreground_dispatch); mText = (TextView) findViewById(R.id.text); mText.setText("Scan a tag"); mAdapter = NfcAdapter.getDefaultAdapter(this); // Create a generic PendingIntent that will be deliver to this activity. The NFC stack // will fill in the intent with the details of the discovered tag before delivering to // this activity. mPendingIntent = PendingIntent.getActivity(this, 0, new Intent(this, getClass()).addFlags(Intent.FLAG_ACTIVITY_SINGLE_TOP), 0); // Setup an intent filter for all MIME based dispatches IntentFilter ndef = new IntentFilter(NfcAdapter.ACTION_NDEF_DISCOVERED); try { ndef.addDataType("*/*"); } catch (MalformedMimeTypeException e) { throw new RuntimeException("fail", e); } mFilters = new IntentFilter[] { ndef, }; // Setup a tech list for all NfcF tags mTechLists = new String[][] { new String[] { NfcF.class.getName() } }; } @Override public void onResume() { super.onResume(); mAdapter.enableForegroundDispatch(this, mPendingIntent, mFilters, mTechLists); //CRASHES HERE BECAUSE mAdapter IS NULL } @Override public void onNewIntent(Intent intent) { Log.i("Foreground dispatch", "Discovered tag with intent: " + intent); mText.setText("Discovered tag " + ++mCount + " with intent: " + intent); } @Override public void onPause() { super.onPause(); mAdapter.disableForegroundDispatch(this); } } My manifest: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <manifest xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" package="com.neka.znacka" android:versionCode="1" android:versionName="1.0"> <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="10" /> <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.NFC"></uses-permission> <uses-feature android:name="android.hardware.nfc" android:required="true" /> <application android:icon="@drawable/icon" android:label="@string/app_name"> <activity android:name=".Uvodna" android:label="@string/app_name"> <intent-filter> <action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN" /> <category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" /> </intent-filter> </activity> <activity android:name="Simulator"> </activity> </application> Any ideas?

  • How do compare dates when one of those are in string format in android

    - by Raj
    I am very much new to android so need some good help with a code example. I am getting a date in form of string from a server in the following format 2012-08-17 00:00:00 I want to compare this string with current date to find the difference between the dates in the form of year, months and days... I tried playing around it in the following code Date currentDate = new Date(System.currentTimeMillis()); Log.v("@@@@@@@@@","Current Date: " + currentDate); Date passDate = new SimpleDateFormat().parse(passDateString); Log.v("@@@@@@@@@","Pass Date: " + passDate); dateDifference = passDate.compareTo(currentDate); but it returned with following exception 04-15 12:08:29.101: V/@@@@@@@@@(1161): Current Date: Sun Apr 15 12:08:29 GMT+01:00 2012 04-15 12:08:29.101: W/System.err(1161): java.text.ParseException: Unparseable date: 2012-08-17 00:00:00 04-15 12:08:29.111: W/System.err(1161): at java.text.DateFormat.parse(DateFormat.java:645) 04-15 12:08:29.111: W/System.err(1161): at org.apis.PassesListItemAdapter.getView(PassesListItemAdapter.java:77) 04-15 12:08:29.111: W/System.err(1161): at android.widget.AbsListView.obtainView(AbsListView.java:1315) 04-15 12:08:29.111: W/System.err(1161): at android.widget.ListView.makeAndAddView(ListView.java:1727) 04-15 12:08:29.111: W/System.err(1161): at android.widget.ListView.fillDown(ListView.java:652) 04-15 12:08:29.111: W/System.err(1161): at android.widget.ListView.fillFromTop(ListView.java:709) 04-15 12:08:29.111: W/System.err(1161): at android.widget.ListView.layoutChildren(ListView.java:1580) 04-15 12:08:29.111: W/System.err(1161): at android.widget.AbsListView.onLayout(AbsListView.java:1147) 04-15 12:08:29.111: W/System.err(1161): at android.view.View.layout(View.java:7034) 04-15 12:08:29.111: W/System.err(1161): at android.widget.RelativeLayout.onLayout(RelativeLayout.java:909) 04-15 12:08:29.111: W/System.err(1161): at android.view.View.layout(View.java:7034) 04-15 12:08:29.111: W/System.err(1161): at android.widget.FrameLayout.onLayout(FrameLayout.java:333) 04-15 12:08:29.111: W/System.err(1161): at android.view.View.layout(View.java:7034) 04-15 12:08:29.111: W/System.err(1161): at android.widget.FrameLayout.onLayout(FrameLayout.java:333) 04-15 12:08:29.111: W/System.err(1161): at android.view.View.layout(View.java:7034) 04-15 12:08:29.111: W/System.err(1161): at android.view.ViewRoot.performTraversals(ViewRoot.java:1049) 04-15 12:08:29.111: W/System.err(1161): at android.view.ViewRoot.handleMessage(ViewRoot.java:1744) 04-15 12:08:29.111: W/System.err(1161): at android.os.Handler.dispatchMessage(Handler.java:99) 04-15 12:08:29.111: W/System.err(1161): at android.os.Looper.loop(Looper.java:144) 04-15 12:08:29.111: W/System.err(1161): at android.app.ActivityThread.main(ActivityThread.java:4937) 04-15 12:08:29.111: W/System.err(1161): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invokeNative(Native Method) 04-15 12:08:29.111: W/System.err(1161): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:521) 04-15 12:08:29.111: W/System.err(1161): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit$MethodAndArgsCaller.run(ZygoteInit.java:868) 04-15 12:08:29.111: W/System.err(1161): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit.main(ZygoteInit.java:626) 04-15 12:08:29.111: W/System.err(1161): at dalvik.system.NativeStart.main(Native Method) I am stuck... please help Raj

  • Android Animate Rotate

    - by oriharel
    I did some digging in Android code, and saw the use of in the indeterminate progress bar. after trying to create my own drawable with this tag: <animated-rotate xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:drawable="@drawable/spinner_pia" android:pivotX="50%" android:pivotY="50%" android:framesCount="12" android:frameDuration="100" /> I get an error: "No resource identifier found for attribute 'frameDuration' in package 'android'" - which means that frameDuration is a private attribute. Is there a way to use this "animate-rotate" feature? My task is to replace the system's default indeterminate progress bar. I'd like to do it with as little code as possible (just change few attributes if possible). Using the ProgressBar view, setting: android:indeterminateOnly="true" android:indeterminateBehavior="cycle" android:indeterminateDuration="3500" android:indeterminateDrawable="@drawable/pia_sivuvator" and point "@drawable/pia_sivuvator" to that object would've make my task as elegant as they come but I'm stuck on those private attributes. help?

The keynote for the first day of BUILD 2013 was kicked off by Steve Balmer.  He made it very clear that Microsoft’s focus is on accelerating its time to market with products and product updates.  His quote was that “Rapid release” is the new norm.  He continued by showing off several new Lumias that have been buzzing around the internet for a while and announce that Sprint will now be carrying the HTC 8XT and Samsung ATIV. Balmer is known for repeating words or phrase for affect.  This time it was “Rapid release, rapid release” and “Touch, touch, touch, touch, touch, …”.  This was fun, but even more fun was when he announce that all attendees would receive an Acer Iconia 8” tablet. SCORE! The next subject Balmer focused on is new apps.  The three new ones were Flipboard, Facebook and NFL Fantasy Football.  I liked the first two because these are ones that people coming from other platforms are missing.  The NFL app is great just because it targets a demographic that can be fanatical.  If these types of apps keep coming than the missing app argument goes away. While many Negative Nancy’s are describing Windows 8.1 as Windows 180 Steve Balmer chose to call it a “refined blend” as in a coffee that has been improved with a new mix.  This includes more multi-tasking options and leveraging Bing straight throughout the entire ecosystem. He ended this first section by explaining that this will also bring more Bing development opportunities to the community. Steve Balmer was followed by Julie Larson-Green who spent her time on stage selling us on Windows 8 all over again from my point of view.  Something that I would not have thought was needed until I had listened to some other attendees who had a number of concerns and complaints.  She showed a number of new gestures that will come with Windows 8.1, and while they were cool I was left wondering if they really improved the experience.  I guess only time will tell. I did like the fact that it the UI implementation to bring up “All Apps” now mirrors that of Windows Phone.  The consistency is a big step forward that I hope to see continue.  The cool factor went up from there as she swiped content from a desktop (mega-tablet) to the XBox One.  This seamless experience I believe is what is really needed for any future platform to be relevant. I was much more enthused by the presentation of Antoine Leblond who humbled us by letting us know that there are 5k new API.  How that can be or how anyone would ever use all of them is another question.  His announcement was that the Visual Studio 2013 preview would be available today along with the Windows 8.1 bits.  One of the features of VS2013 that he demonstrated is the power consumption profiler.  With battery life being a key factor with consumer consumption devices this is a welcome addition. He didn’t limit his presentation to VS2013 features though.  He showed how the Store has been redesigned to enable better search and discoverability of apps and how Win 8.1 can perform multiple screen scales depending on the resolution of the device automatically.  The last feature he demoed was the real time video streaming API which he made sure we understood by attaching a Surface to a little robot.  Oh, but there was one more thing.  Antoine and Julie announce that all attendees would also be getting Surface Pros.  BONUS! How much more could there be?  Gurdeep Singh Pall was about to pile on.  He introduced us to Bing as a platform (BaaP?).  He said if they (Microsoft) could do something with and API that is good 3rd party developers can do something that is dynamite and showed us some of the tools they had produced.  These included natural user interface improvements such as voice commands that looked to put Siri to shame.  Add to that 3D, OCR and translation capabilities and the future looks to be full of opportunities. Balmer then came out to show us one last thing.  Project Spark is a game design environment that will be available for Windows 8.1, XBox 360 and XBox One.  All I can say is that if my kids get their hands on this they are going to be able to learn some of what dad does in a much more enjoyable way. At the end of it all I was both exhausted and energized by what I saw.  What could they have possibly left for the day 2 keynote?  I hear it will feature Scott Hanselman.  If that is right we are in for a treat.  See you there. del.icio.us Tags: BUILD 2013,Windows 8.1,Winodws Phone,XAML,Keynote,Bing,Visual Studio 2013,Project Spark

  • ArrayAdapter and ListView - ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException

    I'm really hoping someone can help me out with this one. I've been stuck on it forever. Occasionally, when someone is using my app, it'll force close with this exception: java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException at android.widget.AbsListView$RecycleBin.addScrapView(AbsListView.java:3572) at android.widget.AbsListView.trackMotionScroll(AbsListView.java:2487) at android.widget.AbsListView.onTouchEvent(AbsListView.java:2001) at android.widget.ListView.onTouchEvent(ListView.java:3234) at android.view.View.dispatchTouchEvent(View.java:3709) at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchTouchEvent(ViewGroup.java:874) at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchTouchEvent(ViewGroup.java:924) at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchTouchEvent(ViewGroup.java:924) at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchTouchEvent(ViewGroup.java:924) at com.android.internal.policy.impl.PhoneWindow$DecorView.superDispatchTouchEvent(PhoneWindow.java:1695) at com.android.internal.policy.impl.PhoneWindow.superDispatchTouchEvent(PhoneWindow.java:1116) at android.app.Activity.dispatchTouchEvent(Activity.java:2068) at com.android.internal.policy.impl.PhoneWindow$DecorView.dispatchTouchEvent(PhoneWindow.java:1679) at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchTouchEvent(ViewGroup.java:924) at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchTouchEvent(ViewGroup.java:924) at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchTouchEvent(ViewGroup.java:924) at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchTouchEvent(ViewGroup.java:924) at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchTouchEvent(ViewGroup.java:924) at com.android.internal.policy.impl.PhoneWindow$DecorView.superDispatchTouchEvent(PhoneWindow.java:1695) at com.android.internal.policy.impl.PhoneWindow.superDispatchTouchEvent(PhoneWindow.java:1116) at android.app.Activity.dispatchTouchEvent(Activity.java:2068) at com.android.internal.policy.impl.PhoneWindow$DecorView.dispatchTouchEvent(PhoneWindow.java:1679) at android.view.ViewRoot.handleMessage(ViewRoot.java:1697) at android.os.Handler.dispatchMessage(Handler.java:99) at android.os.Looper.loop(Looper.java:123) at android.app.ActivityThread.main(ActivityThread.java:4568) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invokeNative(Native Method) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:521) at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit$MethodAndArgsCaller.run(ZygoteInit.java:860) at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit.main(ZygoteInit.java:618) at dalvik.system.NativeStart.main(Native Method) However, I cannot figure out why. It's relatively rare, non-reproducable, and the stacktrace is completely unhelpful because it doesn't include any of my code. Is it a bug in Android itself?

  • Android HelloWorld Build Path error

    - by BahaiResearch.com
    On my Mac I installed Eclipse, the SDK and created a new project, then hit build expecting to see my first helloworld app. I got the error "the project cannot be built until build path errors are fixed". After going thru all the path-like options in Preferences, I noticed that on the tab "Java Build Path" the "Google APIs [Android 2.2]" option did not have its check box checked. Checking it made the problem go away. It works now and I can see the app in the Emulator Have I not set up my environment correctly? I used all the defaults in Eclipse and the Android SDK.

  • Theme change doesn't work on <4.0 as it should

    - by user1717276
    I have some difficulties with setting up a "theme switcher" programmatically. I would like to switch themes from app (between White (Theme.Light.NoTitleBar) and Dark (Theme.Black.NoTitleBar)) and what I do is: I set a SharedPreference: final String PREFS_NAME = "MyPrefsFile"; final SharedPreferences settings = getSharedPreferences(PREFS_NAME, 0); final SharedPreferences.Editor editor = settings.edit(); and than I have a two buttons to switch themes (second one is almost identical) Button ThemeWhite = (Button) findViewById(R.id.ThemeWhite); ThemeWhite.setOnClickListener(new OnClickListener() { public void onClick(View v) { editor.putBoolean("Theme", false); editor.commit(); System.exit(2); } }); and in begging of each activity I check SharedPreference boolean theme = settings.getBoolean("Theme", false); if(theme){ this.setTheme(R.style.Theme_NoBarBlack); } else{ this.setTheme(R.style.Theme_NoBar); } setContentView(R.layout.aplikacja); I define themes in file styles.xml in folder values: <resources> <style name="Theme.NoBar" parent="@android:style/Theme.Light.NoTitleBar" /> <style name="Theme.NoBarBlack" parent="@android:style/Theme.NoActionBar" /> in values-v11: <resources> <style name="Theme.NoBar" parent="@android:style/Theme.Holo.Light.NoActionBar" /> <style name="Theme.NoBarBlack" parent="@android:style/Theme.Holo.NoActionBar" /> in values-v14: <resources> <style name="Theme.NoBar" parent="@android:style/Theme.DeviceDefault.Light.NoActionBar" /> <style name="Theme.NoBarBlack" parent="@android:style/Theme.DeviceDefault.NoActionBar" /> manifest file: <application android:theme="@style/Theme.NoBar" > Everything is working excellent on android 4.0 but when I use 2.2 it doesn't change theme - just font is getting white as it should be but there is no dark background. I tried checking if it at least works and changed Theme.NoBarBlack in values (for android <3.0) and its value the same as Theme.NoBar and then when I pressed button font wasn't changed -as it should do.

  • Native functions throw UnsatisfiedLinkError in custom view, despite working in main activity

    - by Mark Ingram
    For some reason I can only call native functions from my main activity and not any custom views that I've created. Here is an example file (I followed a tutorial, but renamed the classes http://mindtherobot.com/blog/452/android-beginners-ndk-setup-step-by-step/) See the usage of the native function "getNewString". package com.example.native; import android.app.Activity; import android.app.AlertDialog; import android.content.Context; import android.graphics.Bitmap; import android.graphics.Canvas; import android.os.Bundle; import android.view.View; public class NativeTestActivity extends Activity { static { System.loadLibrary("nativeTest"); } private native String getNewString(); @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); this.setContentView(new BitmapView(this)); String hello = getNewString(); // This line works fine new AlertDialog.Builder(this).setMessage(hello).show(); } } class BitmapView extends View { static { System.loadLibrary("nativeTest"); } private native String getNewString(); public BitmapView(Context context) { super(context); String hello = getNewString(); // This line throws the UnsatisfiedLinkError new AlertDialog.Builder(this.getContext()).setMessage(hello).show(); } } How can I call native functions in my custom views? I've built the application as an Android 2.2 app. I'm running the application on my HTC Desire. I have the latest SDK (9) and latest NDK (r5).

    I've got problem with setting visibility to relative layout. I have part of big layout in relativelayout and below that next TextView. But in my code, when myRelativeLayout.setVisibility(View.GONE); is called, TextView which is below that did not appear. I tried several ways to rearange layout, but i need that textview under it. • How can I make a home widget behave like a launcher icon?

    - by Tughi
    I have a widget that acts as a launcher on the home screen. How can I make it behave like a launcher icon? I use this layout for portrait: <RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent"> <RelativeLayout android:background="@drawable/widget_background_selector" android:focusable="true" android:layout_width="74dip" android:layout_height="79dip" android:layout_marginLeft="3dip" android:layout_marginTop="14dip"> <ImageView android:id="@android:id/background" android:layout_width="72dip" android:layout_height="72dip" android:layout_marginLeft="1dip" android:layout_marginTop="4dip" /> </RelativeLayout> </RelativeLayout> And this is the background selector: <selector xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"> <item android:state_pressed="true" android:drawable="@drawable/widget_background_pressed" /> <item android:state_window_focused="true" android:state_focused="true" android:drawable="@drawable/widget_background_focused" /> <item android:state_window_focused="false" android:state_focused="true" android:drawable="@android:color/transparent" /> </selector> This way if I use the DPAD the widget is focusable but the click doesn't work. The touch still works but the widget is not displayed as focused. Any idea what I do wrong?

  • AVD Error: No compatible targets were found. Do you wish to add a new Android Virtual Device?

    - by cdonner
    I must be missing something. Help! My manifest contains: <manifest ...> <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="4" android:targetSdkVersion="7" android:maxSdkVersion="10" /> <application ... I have all API packages installed (through 7 - Android 2.1). Whenever I try to run or debug my app in the emulator, reglardless of which version I start, I get the message in the subject line and I have to click on Cancel in order to continue. After that, the device chooser appears: and I can select a device and the app starts up fine in the Emulator. What do the red Xs mean next to the target? When my Nexus One is cradled, I do not get the warning that there is no compatible device. I can live with the extra click, but I am concerned that my up does not properly register the target API level and that this will cause problems once uploaded to the market.

  • Is it possible to read data that has been separately copied to the Android sd card without having ro

    - by icecream
    I am developing an application that needs to access data on the sd card. When I run on my development device (an odroid with Android 2.1) I have root access and can construct the path using: File sdcard = Environment.getExternalStorageDirectory(); String path = sdcard.getAbsolutePath() + File.separator + "mydata" File data = new File(path); File[] files = data.listFiles(new FilenameFilter() { @Override public boolean accept(File dir, String filename) { return filename.toLowerCase().endsWith(".xyz"); }}); However, when I install this on a phone (2.1) where I do not have root access I get files == null. I assume this is because I do not have the right permissions to read the data from the sd card. I also get files == null when just trying to list files on /sdcard. So the same applies without my constructed path. Also, this app is not intended to be distributed through the app store and is needs to use data copied separately to the sd card so this is a real use-case. It is too much data to put in res/raw (I have tried, it did not work). I have also tried adding: <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE" /> to the manifest, even though I only want to read the sd card, but it did not help. I have not found a permission type for reading the storage. There is probably a correct way to do this, but I haven't been able to find it. Any hints would be useful.

  • android alarm not able to launch alarm activity

    - by user965830
    I am new to android programming and am trying to make this simple alarm app. I have my code written and it is compiled with no errors. The app runs in the emulator, that is the main activity asks the date and time, but when i click on the confirm button, it displays the message - "Unfortunately, Timer1 has stopped working." The code for my main activity is as follows: public void onClick(View v) { EditText date = (EditText) findViewById(R.id.editDate); EditText month = (EditText) findViewById(R.id.editMonth); EditText hour = (EditText) findViewById(R.id.editHour); EditText min = (EditText) findViewById(R.id.editMin); int dt = Integer.parseInt(date.getText().toString()); int mon = Integer.parseInt(month.getText().toString()); int hr = Integer.parseInt(hour.getText().toString()); int mnt = Integer.parseInt(min.getText().toString()); Intent myIntent = new Intent(MainActivity.this, AlarmActivity.class); pendingIntent = PendingIntent.getService(MainActivity.this, 0, myIntent, 0); AlarmManager alarmManager = (AlarmManager) getSystemService(ALARM_SERVICE); Calendar calendar = Calendar.getInstance(); calendar.set(Calendar.DATE, dt); calendar.set(Calendar.MONTH, mon); calendar.set(Calendar.HOUR, hr); calendar.set(Calendar.MINUTE, mnt); alarmManager.set(AlarmManager.RTC_WAKEUP, calendar.getTimeInMillis(), pendingIntent); } I do not understand what all the errors in logcat mean, so i am posting them: 06-25 16:03:32.175: I/Process(566): Sending signal.
