Nowadays every PC you can buy has hardware that can render images with at least 16.7 million individual colors. Rather than have an array with thousands of color entries, the images instead contain explicit color values for each pixel. A 24-bit display, of course, uses 24 bits, or 3 bytes per pixel, for color information. This gives 1 byte, or 256 distinct values each, for red, green, and blue. This is generally called true color, because 256^3 (16.7 million) He says 1 byte is equal to 256 distinct values. 1 byte = 8 bits. 8^2 bits = 64 distinct colors right ?? It's not adding up right to me. I know it might be something simple to understand, but I don't understand.

    Does anyone know about a webcam photo application (ie an alternative to photo booth) with would allow to change the settings on the camera, such as : Select camera (I.e I want to use an external webcam) Change camera resolution (with photobooth change camera settings (I.e autofocus, aperture, color balance, etc..) I did a lot of research on the internet with no success. I am looking for a very simple app (such as wmcap.exe on Windows) What I tried so far: photo booth: it works with an external camera, however there is no way to change the resolution, or the color/focus settings manycam : a virtual webcam driver. you can add special effects to your camera and transfer those effects to any app, but not change your camera settings... iGlasses : enables you to change the camera settings inside photo booth and other apps. However you cannot control the focus, nor the video resolution macam (did not work on my Mac book Pro) Does anyone know better than me? Note : my only solution now is to launch a virtual machine (with parallels desktop) and take the pictures from there!

    hi i have a simpel tkinter window. consists of a small window, a timer, and a button for set timer. dont want to go in details with the code... Now all the widgets in my windows eg. button, Label Ect. will have to change color. EG. i Have a global variabel wich i will set as color "red" fx... All the widgets BACKGROUND option is associated with the global variabel. Now on button press i will change the global variable to "green" so that the background of all widgets ect. will change color, but they DONT. i thought the .mainloop() sort of UPDATED the window. how can i have the widgets to change background color when my variable change WITHOUT restarting my application??? ty Xanthar

I replaced fill="{bluedream}" with fill="using_variable" and lead to error compiled message: Initializer for 'fill': values of type com.degrafa.core.IGraphicsFill cannot be represented in text. Is there a solution to use this code as a color changer?

    Hi all, I've used the default .NET serialization for a class with a System.Drawing.Color member. The code is now in use by people, and I need to add an extra member to the class, but still deserialize older versions. So I tried the standard way of doing this: The ISerializable interface, using SerializationInfo methods to get the int and string members. The problem: My class also has a System.Drawing.Color member, but SerializationInfo doesn't provide a "GetColor" method read this data type. I've tried getting it as an int and as a string, and casting it to System.Drawing.Color, but no luck. Does anyone know how to deserialize a System.Drawing.Color from SerializationInfo? Thanx! Alan

  • Cannot open a .tif with color using .Net Image or Bitmap classes

    I am attempting to open .tif files that have color in them (300 dpi, PixelFormat.Format24bppRgb) using the .Net Image and Bitmap classes. I always get an "invalid parameter" error when the tiffs have color (works fine for black and white tiffs). If anyone has source code on how to open a .tif with color in it I'd deeply appreciate it.     I need to change background color of CkEditor, on some basic jQuery methods, like ready, change, etc. Tried with things like: $(document).on('click','.change-task-status', function(e){ $(".cke_editable").css("background-color", 'red'); }) ... but nothing happens.   • Finding files with bash and copy to another location and reducing depth of folders

    I'm trying to recover a mates hard drive, there is no structure what so ever so music and images are everywhere but in named folders sometimes 5 folders deep, I've managed to write a one-liner that finds the files and copies them to a mounted drive but it preserves the file structure completely. What I'm after is a bit of code that searches the drive and copies to another location and copies just the parent folder with the mp3/jpg files within and not the complete path. The other issue I have is the music is /folder/folder/folder/Artist/1.mp3..2.mp3..10.mp3 etc etc so I have to preserve the folder 'Artist' to give him any hope of finding his tracks again. What I have working currently: find /media/HP/ -name *.mp3 -fprintf /media/HP/MUSIC/Script.sh 'mkdir -p "/media/HP/MUSIC/%h" \n cp "%h/%f" "/media/HP/MUSIC/%h/"\n' I then run the script.sh and it does all the copying.     This is my problem I have met in my assignment. Array A has two elements: array B and array C. Array B has two elements: array D and array E At some point, array X just contains two elements: string a and string b. I don't know how to determine how deep array A is. For example: arrA = [ [ [1,2] ] ] I have tested by: A[0][0][0] == nil which returns false. Moreover, A[0][0]..[0] == nil always returns false. So, I cannot do this way to know how deep array A is.

  • RSpec: in-depth differences between before(:all) and before(:each)

    Ok, so I've ran into a very strange issue, directly connected with before blocks. I'm doing a integration testing via Watir and RSpec. For a simple test to check if user can perform a login I'm creating a 'user' record in the db by means of factory_girl. So I put the following code: before(:each) do @user = Factory(:user) end if "should perform a login" do # do stuff end In do stuff I call a browser and see how the user tries to login. Unfortunately, somehow he cannot do that — "Username isn't valid". After some investigation I discovered that if I put the code for creating user in before(:all) block, everything magically works. How's that? What's the difference between :all and :each in this context? Also, If I put the code for creating user actually in the test body, it still doesn't work (i.e. user somehow isn't added to the DB or something).

    Given a source color of any hue by the system or user, I'd like a simple algorithm I can use to work out a lighter or darker variants of the selected color. Similar to effects used on Windows Live Messenger for styling the user interface. Language is C# with .net 3.5. Responding to comment: Color format is (Alpha)RGB. With values as bytes or floats. Marking answer: For the context of my use (a few simple UI effects), the answer I'm marking as accepted is actually the most simple for this context. However, I've given up votes to the more complex and accurate answers too. Anyone doing more advanced color operations and finding this thread in future should definitely check those out.     Im trying to perform DFS on a Minimum Spanning Tree which contains 26 nodes. Nodes are named 'A' to 'Z' and the tree is undirected. I have an empty function called DFS here that I am trying to write, which (i presume) takes in the tree (a 2D array) a startNode (randomly selected node 'M') and the endNode (randomly selected node 'Z'). The weights of connected nodes are identified in the 2D array parameter, but how do I actually get started visiting nodes? All that is required is to print each nodeName in the order of the DFS traversal. Do I need to create a Node_class for each node in the 2d array??

    I am using System.out.println in my code to track the execution of a program and get some useful output. This creates results like this in the console: Main function. Program starts. Method getArea. Getting values Method getSide. Side is 6 Method getArea. First value is 6 Method getSide. Side is 8 Method getArea. Second value is 8 Method getArea. Area is 48 Main function. The final area is 48 I would like to create tha method, which adds a space in front of the output every time the code goes deeper in the method call stack. For example, the same code but instead of using System.out.println, now with Misc.smartPrintln: Main function. Program starts. Method getArea. Getting values Method getSide. Side is 6 Method getArea. First value is 6 Method getSide. Side is 8 Method getArea. Second value is 8 Method getArea. Area is 48 Main function. The final area is 48 The method would have this definition: public static void smartPrintln(String string); I don't know how to implement this functionality. Any ideas how to solve this? And, could the use of a logger offer this functionality?
