  • SSRS: Master-detail report with two datasources

    I have two local data sources that I can push into the report. Works no problem. But how do I set up the report? One data source contains a list of employees, and info about them. The other contains a bunch of working hours for each employee. I would like to use a table for the list of employees, and then have another table for the working hours beneath each employee (with their working hours). Is this even possible? Do I have to use a Sub-Report? Would I have to merge them into one datasource? =/

  • Jasper report not showing detail section

    I have designed a report in iReport and now I am using it in my application. The problem is that the report is generated showing all the data except the detail section data. There is no database connectivity problem, as the column header shows data which is coming from database. Only the detail section of the report shows nothing, neither data from database nor any static data. What is going on?

  • JasperReports: is it possible to use multiple data sources, or if not, to use collections in paramet

    It seems that the reporting idiom is that a report consist of a single list of items, with some additional data (parameters). Are there ways to include several unrelated lists in a report, or would this go against the idiom to such an extent that a different tool should rather be used to generate the output? Suppose, for instance, you have a list of Persons that lives in a Building, with names, phone numbers and so on. This list would be the main datasource. Additionally, on the same report you want to show various other information about that Building, such as address, number of floors and so on. The number of items in this information might vary between Buildings, so that you cannot simply put it into static parameters, but would need a map or a list. This is of course a contrieved example, but should serve to illustrate the problem. In short: can you use several unrelated lists in a report?

  • Unwanted font Helvetica in PDF from Jasper

    When I create a PDF from a Jasper Report, the resulting PDF declare to use "Helvetica" font, even if it doesn't contain text. Unfortunately I cannot embed "Helvetica" font, because it is not among the Windows fonts. Based on the PDF/A rules, I need to embed all the fonts in the PDF file. How can I create from Jasper a PDF that doesn't declare to use Helvetica? Thank you in advance. Fabio

    Hi, I want to add date in HH:MM:SS format to the x-axis of XY-Line chart. I am using follwing code to do it. xValueExpression ![CDATA[new SimpleDateFormat("HH:mm:ss").format($F{time})]] /xValueExpression But it is giving error as can not convert from string to number. Because XY-Line chart takes number on X and Y axis. So how to achieve this? Or there is any other way to achieve this?

    I'm trying to integrate a rails 3 app with jasper following this wiki: http://wiki.rubyonrails.org/rails/pages/HowtoIntegrateJasperReports But it seems that a lot of information isn't updated so it's been very hard to make it work by myself. I've also read a topic at ruby-forum: http://www.ruby-forum.com/topic/139453 with some details explained but still couldn't make it work. My first problem is related with the render_to_string method: When the controller method runs I receive a "Template is missing" error: this is the method: def report @customers = Customer.all send_doc(render_to_string(:template => report_customers_path, :layout => false), '/pdfs', 'report.jasper', "customers", 'pdf') end Although this seems simple I'm not understanding why is this happening. Doesn't render_to_string with layout = false suposed to get me the string result of that action? I also tried :action instead of :template, but it does the same. If anybody with some expertise with this integration could help... Thanks in advance, André

    I have a print button in jsp page that prints a report created in jasper. What does calling JasperPrintManager.printReport(jasperPrint,true) in a jsp page actually do? I imagine it has to invoke a javascript command to bring up the print dialog and sends the data to it. It is not working for me. any idea?

    I'm evaluating JasperReport and iReport, a requirement is the possibility to produce a multiple page report in which every page contains a different report. Example: Page 1 contains an actual invoice for a customer Page 2 contains the invoices list for the customer Page 3 contains a graph of amount of invoices by year Page 4 contains only fixed text (say operator instructions ...) Is it possible to create such a unique report instead of creating four standalone report and then merge the pdfs. Thank a lot. Francesco

    Hi In my report there is a table and a line. the table is showing rows of data from my DB. I want to know how you could make the table size commensurate with the line (make the length of the line is equal to the length of the table) I set the property "RepeatWith" in the line properties to the table in my report, but this isn't working because this will only work if the data region spans multiple pages.     Hi Team, I have an report to be sent in email using SSRS 2005. I have created subscription through C# code, some time back. It used to send emails successfully. Now, it does not send. There is a message as "The delivery extension for this subscription could not be loaded." I want to use two expressions: '=Ceiling(RowNumber(Nothing)/3)' and '=Cint(Fields!kpilevel.Value)' They work both individually, but when I insert them together only 1 works.     Hi, anyone knows an easy method to generate mail merge .doc file from Java? So, I want to create a Word (95/97) document in Word, put some simple placeholders in it (only single value, no iterators and other advanced tags) like the ones used with mailmerge option, and then at runtime replace those placeholders with values from Java. One option is to use Jasperreports, but this would require that I create exact replica of non-trivial Word document in Jasper format, which is not easy and is hard to change later. Is there some method of filling placeholders in Word from Java, which does not require low-level document alteration with positioning and others low-level .doc tags from code, but something like this: docPreparer.fillPlaceholder('placeholder1', 'my real value from runtime'); Some CRMs do this via ActiveX control for internet explorer, and it works great (they use Word's mailmerge) but I need an all-Java solution. I am using one textfield in the detail band when it has more information(words), it is displaying only some information.i.e the words are being cut off.
