  Data.XX.NewValue := Data.XX.SavedValue; Data.XX.OldValue := Data.XX.SavedValue; I need to do the above a large number of times, where XX represents the value in the class. Pretending there were 3 items in the list: Tim, Bob, Steve. Is there any way to do the above for all three people without typing out the above code three times? (Data is a class containing a number of Objects, each type TList, which contain OldValue, NewValue and SavedValue)

  I'm trying to use RTTI to add an event handler to a control, that may already have an event handler set. It says E2010 Incompatible types: 'procedure, untyped pointer or untyped parameter' and 'TNotifyEvent' Anyone know why that is or how to fix it? It looks right to me...

• Is there a way to programmatically tell if particular block of memory was not freed by FastMM?

  I am trying to detect if a block of memory was not freed. Of course, the manager tells me that by dialog box or log file, but what if I would like to store results in a database? For example I would like to have in a database table a names of routines which allocated given blocks. After reading a documentation of FastMM I know that since version 4.98 we have a possibility to be notified by manager about memory allocations, frees and reallocations as they occur. For example OnDebugFreeMemFinish event is passing to us a PFullDebugBlockHeader which contains useful informations. There is one thing that PFullDebugBlockHeader is missing - the information if the given block was freed by the application. Unless OnDebugFreeMemFinish is called only for not freed blocks? This is which I do not know and would like to find out. The problem is that even hooking into OnDebugFreeMemFinish event I was unable to find out if the block was freed or not. Here is an example: program MemLeakTest; {$APPTYPE CONSOLE} uses FastMM4, ExceptionLog, SysUtils; procedure MemFreeEvent(APHeaderFreedBlock: PFullDebugBlockHeader; AResult: Integer); begin //This is executed at the end, but how should I know that this block should be freed //by application? • Strange behavior of move with strings

  I am testing some enhanced string related functions with which I am trying to use move as a way to copy strings around for faster, more efficient use without delving into pointers. While testing a function for making a delimited string from a TStringList, I encountered a strange issue. The compiler referenced the bytes contained through the index when it was empty and when a string was added to it through move, index referenced the characters contained. • Transferring Data Directly between 2 Connections in Indy (TIdContext)

  ive a sever running TIdTCPServer, and Client Using Web Browser (or any other software) to Communicate, i dunno the protocol, but what im trying to do is to Send The Data between the client and another Connection (Both Connected to the same TIdTCPServer) for example the data sent by the first client is transmitted to the second client, and the data sent by the second client is transmitted to the first client, like a proxy (i cant really use a proxy server since its just this one condition) and the TIdTCPServer should still be receiving other clients and processing their data. i stumbled upon the first line of code, since TIdContext.Connection.Socket.ReadLn requires a Delimiter, and the Client's Protocol is unknown to the server. any ideas? thanks.

  I played with attributes and assumed that they are inherited but it doesn't seem so: type [MyAttribute] TClass1 = class end; TClass2 = class(TClass1) end; TClass2 doesn't have the Attribute "MyAttribute" although it inherits from Class1. Is there any possibility to make an attribute inheritable? Or do I have to go up the class hierarchy and search for attributes?

The third class is where I use my wrapper, but the compiler throws that error. How do I make it compile?

• Who's setting TCP window size down to 0, Indy or Windows?

  We have an application server which have been observed sending headers with TCP window size 0 at times when the network had congestion (at a client's site). We would like to know if it is Indy or the underlying Windows layer that is responsible for adjusting the TCP window size down from the nominal 64K in adaptation to the available throughput. And we would be able to act upon it becoming 0 (nothing gets send, users wait = no good). So, any info, link, pointer to Indy code are welcome... Disclaimer: I'm not a network specialist. Please keep the answer understandable for the average me ;-) Note: it's Indy9/D2007 on Windows Server 2003 SP2. More gory details: The TCP zero window cases happen on the middle tier talking to the DB server. It happens at the same moments when end users complain of slowdowns in the client application (that's what triggered the network investigation). 2 major Network issues causing bottlenecks have been identified. The TCP zero window happened when there was network congestion, but may or may not be caused by it. We want to know when that happen and have a way to do something (logging at least) in our code. So where to hook (in Indy?) to know when that condition occurs?

  I'm working on a module which consists of a page control. By default, this page control (TPageControl) shouldn't have any tab sheets (TTabSheet), but upon initialization, it should dynamically insert these pages and embed a form inside of it. The issue comes with knowing how to insert a tab sheet into the page control. How do I create this? And once it's created, along with the forms inside each one, how do I iterate through them to destroy the forms?

  Hello, In my app, i've created the TList type list where i store the pointers to 1 string and 2 float(real) values for every 3 items. aList.Add(@sName); //string aList.Add(@x1); //float aList.Add(@x2); //float Then, i want to get the values out from the list, but i could only do that for string sStr := string(lList.items[i]); But i couldn't get the float values as a := real(lList...) will result in an invalid typecast error. So what do i do to get the float values? Of course i have a question if that string casting will actually give me the string value. I'm not good at pointer stuff so i don't know how to do it.

  My dll have been bigger multiplied up many times than early for some reason. I begining to size up the situation: A source hasn't changed. Debug information everywhere turned off. Dll use package "Pack", but not include in Runtime Packages options. I've compared new dll with old version dll thought the instrumentality of PE Explore. In new dll I find out many modules with prefix 'ec' implicitly imported unlike old dll. Package "Pack" using ecControls components Dll doesn't using explicitly call to ecControls units. Why ecControls units imported in dll? Have anybody some advice?

  Hello, I was wondering if there is a way to make an array which would have mutiple types of data fields. So far i was using aMyArray: array of array [0..1] of TPoint; But now, it is not enough for me. I need to add 3 more elements to the existing 2 "Point" elements making it an array like aMyArray: array of (TPoint,TPoint,real,real,real) So each element of aMyArray would have 5 'children', 2 of which are of a TPoint type and 3 of them are 'real' type. Is this possible to implement somehow?
