• ASP.Net: User controls added to placeholder dynamically cannot retrieve values.

  I am adding some user controls dynamically to a PlaceHolder server control. My user control consists of some labels and some textbox controls. When I submit the form and try to view the contents of the textboxes (within each user control) on the server, they are empty. When the postback completes, the textboxes have the data that I entered prior to postback. This tells me that the text in the boxes are being retained through ViewState. I just don't know why I can't find them when I'm debugging. Can someone please tell me why I would not be seeing the data the user entered on the server? Thanks for any help.

• Windows xp printer queue issues

  I have a C# application (.NET 3.5 SP1) that I am printing serial numbers for product for a manufacturing company. I am using Active Reports 3 (ver. 5.2.385.2) to print these labels. However, when the printer(Zebra TLP 3842) has an issue, it seems like the printer queue reprints the print job. This causes duplicate serial numbers to be printed. Does anyone know how to ensure that this will not happen. I would rather not have a serial number print than have duplicate serial numbers.

  I want to draw an x-y-diagram with axis labels. Unfortunately the ylabel is misplaced. It looks as depending on the actual data. When the other data line in the sample below is used instead of the upper line, it looks better.   There is an existing app in MOSS, which allows to create polls for a call center, operators fill them out as they call targeted customers. Then this Web app outputs the results of this poll. Is it possible to change the interface language of this existing web app? Operators don't understand English. If it's not about language packs, it would still be easier for me to embed new names and labels, rather than rewrite in a system I am not familiar with. Also, is it possible to change the authentication type from Windows authentication to regular username/password check (username and password will be stored in DB or somewhere only for this site) If it is possible, can you direct me to some kind of tutorial, help or manual which would show how to do it? On MSDN it's written that language can't be changed, but I'm not sure whether it's about the Web app language. Thank you.

• Why does Chrome incorrectly determine page is in a different language and offer to translate?

  The new Google Chrome auto-translation feature is tripping up on one page within one of our applications. Whenever we navigate to this particular page, Chrome tells us the page is in Danish and offers to translate. The page is in English, just like every other page in our app. This particular page is an internal testing page that has a few dozen form fields with English labels. I have no idea why Chrome thinks this page is Danish. Does anyone have insights into how this language detection feature works and how I can determine what is causing Chrome to think the page is in Danish?

• WinForm Text Control that displays current character/character limit

  I need a way to display, like you see in some web apps, the current characters/character limit for a Text Control(i.e. 3/500). I usually see this as a label residing directly above or below the Text Control. How is this 'normally' accomplished? Should I override my Text Control somehow? Do I just manually add labels by every Text Control and 'bind' them to properties of the Text Control? Do I need to create a composite control that has the Text Control & Label Controls together to accomplish what I need? Any direction or help will be greatly appreciated.

It's all working nicely, but I need to detect when that picture box is clicked on. How do I add an event to the picture? I seem to only be able to find c# examples.... my code to add the image is as follows...   Does anyone know how to break out of a for loop when it's typed directly into the windows command-line? I know you can use gotos and labels to break out of it when it's in a batch file, but I can't find anything about breaking out of one on the command line. Here's a simple example: C:> for /l %i in (1,0,1) do @ping -n 1 google.com || (echo ^G & msg user "Google is down!" & QUIT) This should infinitely ping google.com. If it ever fails, it beeps (echo ^G), displays a message box to the user "user" that says "Google is down!", and QUITs. I don't know how to do the quit part though. I guess I could do something like taskkill /f /im cmd.exe, but I was looking for something more elegant. Any tips?

  I'm using the iPhone SDK to build a simple application. I've created a brand new class which has a single variable. I need to make 5 instances of that class, which I have no trouble doing. I can create those instances and also set the variables without issue. What i do need to know is this: How do I link each of the 5 different instances of the variable to different and specific UILabels? • How to format a date as localized Short MonthDay string

  I would like to format a DateTime to a string containing the month name abbreviated and the date for use in axis labels in a graph. The default DateTime format strings do not contain abbreviated month. I guess there is no standard but I could take a substring of the first 3 characters of the month name and replace this into the MonthDay format. I know this is possible, because I have seen it in the past on a postal service website for printing postage labels, but cannot remember where. • DisplayObject.rotation not matching trig functions

  I'm trying to label an animated pie chart, and I've been having a great deal of trouble getting rotated objects to line up with trigonometrically-positioned objects. So, for example, if I have a pie piece that's middle is angle theta and has been rotated n degrees in a tween, and then I try to position a label with code like this: label.x = center.x + Math.cos((theta + n)/180 * Math.PI) * radius; label.y = center.y + Math.sin((theta + n)/180 * Math.PI) * radius; the label is often not aligned with the center of the pie slice. Since I am also zooming in to the pie chart a great deal, the error becomes significant enough that it occasionally causes the label to miss the pie slice altogether. The error seems relatively unpredictable, and it looks a great deal like a rounding error, but I don't see any obvious rounding going on (the trig functions evaluate to ten or so decimal places, which should be more than enough here). How can I get these labels to position correctly?

  As a workaround of not being able to change colors of selected points in a series on an AChartEngine Time Chart, I was using an additional series for each point whose color has to be changed. I need to disable series titles for those additional series. Using empty string as the argument to the Time Series construtor: TimeSeries ts = TimeSeries(""); still results in the line-and-point symbol being placed with empty series title string under the X-axis labels for each such series. It would be a desirable feature for AChartEngine to remove both the line-and-point symbol and the series title string for a series created with a null argument to the TimeSeries construtor call: TimeSeries ts = TimeSeries(null); But this currently resulted in nullPointerException instead. Would the AChartEngine developers consider the above suggestion and until then, is there a way to remove some of the TimeSeries titles from a AChartEngine Time Series View? Best regards.

• Custom cell just failing

  Hi, I'm trying to use a custom UITableViewCell, and I've placed it in the same nib file as the UITableView controller. For this, the files are: NTItems.h, NTItems.m and NTItems.xib. I have defined the cell in the header file: IBOutlet UITableViewCell *cellview; and I've correctly applied the property: nonatomic, retain so it's there. In the m file - I've synthesized the variable device and am using this to get the custom cell: if(cell == nil){ cell = self.cellview; } However, when I load the table, I get this horrible mess: There should be more than 1 cell showing data as well. On another note, how do I map the labels to the text which is to be displayed?

I used the MPMoviePlayerController for showing video in full screen when the cell is selected. But, I am getting error that MPMoviePlayerController class is not there. I tried using UIWebView. But, I could not make it. How can I play a video, when the cell is selected. Some say that videos do not play in simulator. They only play when we test in device. Is it right ?
