• Choosing my first Domain Registrar?

  This will be the first domain i've ever registered. So i'm at a loss what to look for. I definitely don't want to go with GoDaddy. Here are my requirements: Must have unlimited email forwards for my domain Easy to transfer away if i choose. Must not be one of those shady registrars that will try to auction your domain at the end. Ability to create sub domains Domain Registration is Private I would like a domain registrar that would let me use my dynamic ip of my ISP (Cable) if i want to. So hopefully they would have some type program that would detect IP changes and update accordingly So i've looked at a variety of registrars so far. The three left were really NameCheap, DreamHost, & DomainMonster. I have heard good things about DreamHost but i think its off the list because they don't give you any information about the features you get when you register your domain with them. They have a "Whats included" button the page but it mainly list the features with hosting not registration. DomainMonster looks pretty cool but i don't see anything about subdomains. Also i would assume they don't have a system for dynamic ip address updating. So you would have to constantly check that your ip of your ISP has changed or not and update it manually. NameCheap also looks nice. There are two things i really like about them. Right on their feature page they list "Free Dynamic DNS With Client" which is pretty cool. They also have a free SSL certificate for the first year. Haven't messed a lot with certificates but this would definitely be something i would use. Only minus i can see is you only get free private whois for the first year. After that its $2.99 which isn't that big of a deal. I'm leaning towards NameCheap now. Is this a good choice. Is there anything else i should be looking at?

  I am looking for a tool that will let me take an mp4 and burn it as a DVD (you know, the kind I can watch in my DVD player). I tried DVD Flick but when the DVD was done the audio was off by at least a full second. Any one have any cool tools for this?

• My system show extremely hot processor temperature

  I've build a small miniITX system with Pentium 4 processor. It works fine but there's extremely hot temperature is shown by the CPU sensor, around 120 C. Of course this is causing the fan run extremely fast as well making the whole system very loud. I tried to touch the CPU radiator but it is very cool so this should be some kind of error. Could you please give me an advice on how to troubleshoot this?

  I've got an HP 2510G-24 and Intel Pro/1000 PT Quad Port NIC in a 4x LACP trunk. When I cool at the switch's "Status and Counters - Port status" page, I see an inconsistency between ports of the same trunk. I could expect them to be identical. So, my questions: What is MDI and MDIX? Do I need to be concerned about the inconsistency? If so, how to resolve?

• Ubuntu 9.10 Technika H16WC-01 Webcam

  I know this is a lame cheap web camera, thus making it all the harder for me to find information about it. Ubuntu seems to recognise it, putting it in as /dev/video0 Skype is able to see that the web cam is there, but can not get any picture data. Flash doesn't even pick up that the web cam exists. I feel foolish asking such a lame question... but any help will be cool beans!

The voice would be high pitched, but I was able to get through them a lot faster. These days are long gone because everything is digitized.   ...after it completed download that runs similiar to how zip files unextract itself when the download finishes and actually throws the zipped copy in the trash? I usually use unrax but lately with all these .rar files, the cool zip extractor is not very helpful right now. • Disable USB powered light from command line?

  I have a nice little USB light which has no off switch, it is 'on' for the duration of being plugged in. My question is, is there a way of disabling the USB port so as to turn off the light while it is still plugged in? Preferably, this could be done from the command line, but if it's possible at all that would be really cool regardless. I use Mac and Linux, but am interested to learn if this is possible in any OS, or if physical hardware prevents usage like this.

  After finding out adding an autorun on a flash drive to change the icon to actually look like your flash drive, then after finding out that it'd work for Hard Drives too, I started to wonder if you could change your whole computer's icon so other computers on your network could actually see your physical computer. Two video cards have blown out before because I had a fault, NVIDIA video card software driver installed that they had too many compliants that it was telling the fan that keeps the video card cool to stop working.   I thought the pictures associated with our profiles were automatically generated until they were manually changed. A lot of people have these cool identicons based on their IP address. How can I get my own identicon? I am looking for an online generator. Gravator does not seem to have any options to generate identicons. Edit: I will probably accept your answer if you just tell me how you made your identicon (and it did not involve downloading/installing stuff)
