• Outlook 2007: Automatically mark a mail when printed

  Hi, I am looking for a solution for my Outlook 2007. I don’t know if it is possible, but what I need is, that each time I print a mail, it automatically get marked in some way, either by a flag or a category. I’ve browsed through different menus, settings and rules in outlook and scouted google for a solution but with no result. Don’t know if it makes a difference, but my outlook is connected to a Exchange server 2010. I would really appreciate if someone knew a solution to this. Sincere Mestika

• How to remove "com.starfield.backupservice" from launchd?

  I remember sometime ago, I uninstall an application called starfield, but probably I didn't do a clean uninstall. Now in Console, I always see a annoying message: com.apple.launchd[1] (com.starfield.backupservice[4441]) Exited with exit code: 1 com.apple.launchd[1] (com.starfield.backupservice) Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds com.apple.launchd[1] (com.starfield.backupservice[4442]) posix_spawn("/Applications/Starfield/BackupService/offSyncService", ...): No such file or directory I know it could be something wrong with my installation, how can I do a clean uninstall now, or just fix this issue, I don't want to see this message from my console any more. • OpenWRT based gateway with dnsmasq and internal server with bind

  I have router based on OpenWRT which has dnsmasq 2.59. Inside my local area network I have a NS server bind. This server has internal and external views for a couple of my domains. My router forwards port 53 TCP and UDP from outside IP (router WAN) to this server. For the external clients everything works fine. In order to organize the internal view, I decided to add the exception to /etc/dnsmasq.conf server=/mydomain1.com/192.168.1.1 server=/mydomain2.com/192.168.1.1 server=/mydomain3.com/192.168.1.1 (192.168.1.1 - IP address of the NS server) According to dnsmasq manstrong text: More specific domains take precendence over less specific domains, so: --server=/google.com/1.2.3.4 --server=/www.google.com/2.3.4.5 will send queries for *.google.com to 1.2.3.4, except *www.google.com, which will go to 2.3.4.5 this domain name with all the sub-domains is supposed to be forward to my NS server. Everything works (SOA, NS, MX, CNAME, TXT, SRV etc.) except for A-record: # nslookup -type=a mydomain1.com Server: 192.168.1.100 Address: 192.168.1.100#53 *** Can't find mydomain1.com: No answer 192.168.1.100 - IP address of my router (dnsmasq) However, I can get the answer for the TXT-record query: # nslookup -type=txt mydomain1.com Server: 192.168.1.100 Address: 192.168.1.100#53 mydomain1.com text = "v=spf1 include:mydomain1.com -all" When I just specify the local IP of my NS server (direct access to the server without using dnsmasq) then the results are: # nslookup -type=a mydomain1.com 192.168.1.1 Server: 192.168.1.1 Address: 192.168.1.1#53 Name: mydomain1.com Address: 192.168.1.1 There is a similar situation with the MX-record: C:\>nslookup -type=mx mydomain1.com Server: router.lan Address: 192.168.1.100 mydomain1.com MX preference = 10, mail exchanger = mail.mydomain1.com mydomain1.com nameserver = ns.mydomain1.com mail.mydomain1.com internet address = 192.168.1.1 ns.mydomain1.com internet address = 192.168.1.1 C:\>nslookup -type=a mail.mydomain1.com Server: router.lan Address: 192.168.1.100 *** No address (A) records available for mail.mydomain1.com This is a dig result: # dig +nocmd mydomain1.com any +multiline +noall +answer mydomain1.com. 86400 IN SOA ns.mydomain1.com. hostmaster.mydomain1.com. • Configure spamassassin to mark very similar messages as spam

  Users on my server have been receiving spam, consistently, for some time now. I have most of spamassassin's plugins enabled, and I have made sure to enable verbose logging, where I can see that all of the plugins are working. Why is it, then, that my users are able to receive the same exact junk mail several times in a day without the message being flagged in some way? Here are the relevant headers of an email that I personally have received several copies of: X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 3.3.1 (2010-03-16) on sub.domain.tld X-Spam-Level: *** X-Spam-Status: No, score=3.0 required=4.0 tests=BAYES_50,FSL_HELO_NON_FQDN_1, HELO_NO_DOMAIN,HTML_MESSAGE,RCVD_IN_BRBL_LASTEXT,RDNS_NONE autolearn=no version=3.3.1 Have I accidentally missed the plugin that can see that I, and others, have received the same message multiple times in a short period of time?

• What's the meaning of logging in as "[email protected]:something"

  My Windows 2008 R2 machine is joined to a domain. In the logon screen, if I type in "[email protected]:something" as the username, I can still logon properly, what's the meaning of ":something" appended at the end? I can even see the current user is displayed as "[email protected]:something" in the switch user screen. Is it a feature in Windows? Or is it just a bug? If it is a feature, what's the difference between logging in as "username@mydomain.com" and logging in as "[email protected]:something"? Note that I tried different combinations like "mydomain\username:something" and "mydomain.com:something\username". None of them work except "[email protected]:something".

• How do I rewrite *.example.com to www.example.com?

  In my network, I've some Ubuntu machines which need to download files from nl.archive.ubuntu.com. Since it's quite a waste of time to download everything multiple times, I've setup a squid proxy for caching the data. Another use for this proxy was rewriting requests for archive.ubuntu.com or *.archive.ubuntu.com to nl.archive.ubuntu.com because this mirror is faster than the US mirrors. This has worked quite well, but after a recent install of my caching machine, the configuration was lost. I remember having a separate perl program for handling this rewrite. How do I setup such a squid proxy which rewrites the host *.example.com to www.example.com and cache the result of the latter?

There are multiple ways to resolve this error. Readers has contributed various methods. Few of them even have supplied the answer why this error is showing up. NULL are very important part of the database and if one of the column has NULL the result can be totally different than the one expected. SQL SERVER – T-SQL Scripts to Find Maximum between Two Numbers I modified script provided by friend to find greatest number between two number. My script has small bug in it. However, lots of readers have suggested better scripts. Madhivanan has written blog post on the subject over here. SQL SERVER – BI Quiz Hint – Performance Tuning Cubes – Hints This quiz is hosted on my friend Jacob‘s site. I have written many hints how one can tune cubes. Now one can take part here and win exciting prizes. SQL SERVER – Solution – Generating Zero Without using Any Numbers in T-SQL Madhivanan has asked very interesting question on his blog about How to Generate Zero without using Any Numbers in T-SQL. He has demonstrated various methods how one can generate Zero. I asked the same question on blog and got many interesting answers which I have shared. SQL SERVER – Solution – Puzzle – Statistics are not Updated but are Created Once I have to accept that this was most difficult puzzle. In this puzzle I have asked even though settings are correct, why statistics of the tables are not getting updated. In this puzzle one is tested with various concepts 1) Indexes, 2) Statistics, 3) database settings etc. There are multiple ways of solving this puzzles. It was interesting as many took interest but only few got it right. SQL SERVER – Question to You – When to use Function and When to use Stored Procedure This is rather straight forward question and not the typical puzzle. The answers from readers are great however, still there is chance of more detailed answers. SQL SERVER – Selecting Domain from Email Address I wrote on selecting domains from email addresses.
