setting up my own name server

I'm in the process of setting up my own name servers using BIND9, however I want to visualize the name server setup in relation to registrars and other name servers. Say I have a domain www.mydomain.com I setup my 2 name servers: ns1.mydomain.com - 192.168.0.1 ns2.mydomain.com - 192.168.0.2 1) How does the world know that my name servers are now at ns1.mydomain and ns2.mydomain. I read about setting up glue records at my registrar. Could you please elaborate on this, i.e. once i setup these glue records, can I now use my name servers in NS records for any other domain? For e.g. NS records for www.otherdomain.com - ns1.mydomain.com/ns2.mydomain.com 2) Given I setup the glue records as mentioned above, do I "have to" update mydomain.com NS records to point to my name servers? Can I keep mydomain.com NS records pointing to my registrars name servers, however use ns1.mydomain.com/ns2.mydomain.com as name servers for any other domain I own? Thanks

I have Intel HD 3000 graphics card onboard and nvidia 520 mx optimus techolonogy card. I was try to install Nvidia driver but it was failure. Now I cant use anything. Screen Resolution Problem with Ubuntu 14.04 and VirtualBox

Environment: Lenovo T530 running Windows 7. Have installed Ubuntu 14.04 on a virtual machine using VM Virtual Box. Have installed all the updates from both Virtual Box and Ubuntu. Problem: While in Ubuntu's desktop and other Ubuntu initiated programs, the window is reduced to about 3x4 inches showing in the middle of the rest of my regular Virtual Box window. I am seeing only the upper right hand of the screen output of what I would normally see. Please help. I've seen How do I install Guest Additions in a VirtualBox VM? But, none of these answers works in 14.04.

Depth Map resolution shifting

the problem is with shadow mapping as you can see, actually it works fine but in a certain condition that the Depth Map size must be equal to the size of rendering buffer, I use an infinite directional light so if the window is 800x600 the depth map must be 800x600, and when i change the size of the shadow map to be 900x600 it starts to be shifted and when it's size be 1024x1024 it also shifts till it disappears the GLSL shadow function float calcShadow(sampler2D Dmap, vec4 coor){ vec4 sh = vec4((coor.xyz/coor.w),1); sh.z *= 0.9; return step(sh.z,texture2D(Dmap,sh.xy).r); } here's the result when it's the same size as the window Colored result & Depth Map and here's the shifted result, as you can notice the depth map is exactly as the previous one with the addition of white space to the right. Domain resolution - local first then external

I would like to know how I can configure my dns settings so that domain is resolved locally first, then if not resolved it goes to external DNS. I had this working before, I am using Ubuntu through a VM and need the local domain to resolve first but since I have upgraded I had to reconfigure network and now it works only external, local host file does not seem to even be used. Is there an easy way to check this out? I did slap it up in google but no specific answer seemed to match my case and I too tight on delivery deadline to test-and-try different approaches. You guys rock, thanks.

How to Look Up Email by Full Name in Active Directory?

I want to search for a user's email by using Active Directory. Available is the user's full name (ex. "John Doe" for the email with an email "[email protected]"). From what I've searched, this comes close to what I'm looking to do -- except that the Filter is set to "SAMAccountName", which is not what I have. Unless I'm misunderstanding, I just need to pick the right attribute and toss in the full name name in the same way. Unfortunately, I don't know what this attribute is, apparently no one has had to ask about searching for information in this manner, and that is a pretty big list (msdn * microsoft * com/en-us/library/ms675090(v=VS.85) * aspx, stackoverflow didn't let me link 2 hyperlinks because I don't have 10 rep) of attributes. Does anyone know how to obtain the user's email address through an Active Directory lookup by using the user's full name?

I have a "Website" table in the database that stores the configuration values related to each domain name: Website - domain - name - tagline - admin_email - etc... At the moment, I load the website object at the start of each request (before_filter) in my ApplicationController: @website = Website.find_by_domain(request.host) The problem is when I need to access the @website object from my models methods. I would like to avoid to have to pass @website everywhere. The best solution would be to have something similar to APP_CONFIG but per domain name. def sample_model_property - - "#{@website.name} is a great website!" end How would you do it?

Nvidia Linux Driver Huge Resolution

I'm trying to setup a working CUDA SDK on my Linux Mint. I'm new to Linux and everything connected with it. So, I tried following some steps on how to install CUDA. Firstly, I downloaded a Linux driver from here: http://developer.nvidia.com/cuda/cuda-downloads version 295.41. After that, I barely found a way to run it. I did it like this: 1. typed in sudo init 1 in terminal and switched to root 2. typed service mdm stop 3. ran the *.run file downloaded from the link above Then it started installing the driver. It gave some warning messages, but I ignored it. After installation, I typed init 5 and it came back to GUI screen, BUT everything is huge. I restarted, still huge. My screen resolution is 640x480 on a 17 inch laptop monitor. I tried running Nvidia X Server Settings, but it says: "You do not appear to be using Nvidia X Driver. Please edit your X configuration file." I tried that. Nothing happened. I cant change the resolution because that Nvidia Settings thing gives no options. Then I googled some things, installing some packages - nothing. The biggest problem is I don't understand whats really going on. My laptop is a Samsung with i7 and Nvidia Gt 650M with optimus. I cant even install bumblebee, but that is something I will try if I manage to get my resolution to default. Please, help!

I tried creating one by hand in the Fedora system and managed to render it completely unusable. Not a big deal as this is recently installed and can be reinstalled easily. Is what I want to do possible? If so, how do I accomplish it?

How to parse out MS Word formatting?

I have a rich html textbox on my asp.net mvc application. The rich html textbox is some jquery plugin that I use and has basic stuff like bold,underline and etc. Now I am anticipating that people will maybe write something in word and then copy and paste it into my textbox. However I limit the number of characters a person can have. This is a test to show how much formatting gets made. • One • Two • Three So I wrote that above(it does not copy to well into here). Basically it is a line of text and "how" is bold and the "one,two,three" are a bullet list. Word says it is 70 characters long with spacing. How to use JAXB to process messages from two separate schemas (with same rootelement name)

Hi We have a client that is sending xml messages that are produced from two separate schemas. We would like to process them in a single application, since the content is related. We cannot modify the client's schema that they are using to produce the XML messages... We can modify our own copies of the two schema (or binding.jxb) -- if it helps -- in order to enable our JAXB processing of messages created from the two separate schemas. Unfortunately, both schemas have the same root element name (see below). iPhone 4.0 Screen Resolution and writing robust code...

Does anyone know what will happen with existing apps when they run on the iPhone 4.0 in terms of the new screen resolution? I am assuming, just like developing for the iPad that there should be no hard coded screen resolutions in your code. I'd also like advice on the best way of writing robust code to work well on any device. For instance, detecting the screen resolution is not enough - on the iPad the screen is physically bigger so you can display more items on it. On the new iPhone the screen is the same physical size but higher resolution, so the likely thing is that you wont want to display more items, just higher resolution versions of them. Any help would be useful, Regards Dave EDIT: I have read the other similar posts, I guess what I really would like to know is what is the recommended way to write code for all App Store devices in a robust way so they a) all work b) make best use of the device.

Why is the value of name changing after assignment to sys.modules[name]?

While trying to do something similar to what's in the ActiveState recipe titled Constants in Python by Alex Martelli, I ran into an unexpected side-effect that assigning a class instance to an entry in sys.modules apparently has in Python 2.7 -- namely that doing so apparent changes the value of __name__ to None as illustrated in the following code fragment: class _test(object): pass import sys print '__name__: %r' % __name__ # __name__: '__main__' sys.modules[__name__] = _test() print '__name__: %r' % __name__ # __name__: None if __name__ == '__main__': # never executes... import test print "done" I'd like to understand why this is happening. I don't believe it was that way in Python 2.6 and earlier versions since I have some older code where apparently the if __name__ == '__main__': conditional worked as expected following the assignment (but no longer does). FWIW, I also noticed that the name _class is getting rebound from a class object to None, too, after the assignment. Also seems odd to me that they're being rebound to 'None' rather than disappearing altogether... Update: I'd like to add that any workarounds for achieving the effect of if __name__ == '__main__':, given what happens would be greatly appreciated. TIA!
