    I have a file with many rows. Each row has a column which may contain comma separated values. I need each row to be distinct (ie no comma separated values). Here is an example row: AB AB10,AB11,AB12,AB15,AB16,AB21,AB22,AB23,AB24,AB25,AB99 ABERDEEN Aberdeenshire The columns are comma separated (Postcode area, Postcode districts, Post town, Former postal county). So the above row would get turned into: AB AB10 ABERDEEN Aberdeenshire AB AB11 ABERDEEN Aberdeenshire AB AB12 ABERDEEN Aberdeenshire ... ... I tried the following but it didn't work...   • Change spring bean properties at configuration time

    In a spring servlet xml file, I'm using org.springframework.scheduling.quartz.SchedulerFactoryBean to regularly fire a set of triggers. <bean class="org.springframework.scheduling.quartz.SchedulerFactoryBean"> <property name="triggers"> <list> <ref local="AwesomeTrigger" /> <ref local="GreatTrigger" /> <ref local="FantasticTrigger"/> </list> </property> </bean> The issue is that in different environments, I don't want certain triggers firing. Is there a way to include some sort of configuration or variable defined either in my build.properties for the environment or in a spring custom context properties file that assists the bean xml to determine which triggers should be included in the list? That way, for example, AwesomeTrigger would be called in development but not qa.

  • Cannot launch 16-bit application anymore

    I'm trying to debug and resolve some issues with a Win32 macro application written C++ however I'm having the strangest issue. I have to launch a 16-bit program and then simulate entering data into and have been using ShellExecute for over two years now. I haven't touched this actual code at all, but now it doesn't work. I'm doing ShellExecute(NULL, "open", exe_path.c_str(), NULL, "", SW_SHOWDEFAULT);. This has worked flawlessly for years but all of sudden, it stopped working. It gives me an ACCESS_DENIED error code. I've Googled and apparently this is a pretty common issue with launching 16-bit apps. The workstation XP SP2 environment hasn't changed at all, and it was actually working until I rebuilt a little while ago (I've rebuilt it before many times). The code is inside a window procedure function and when I take it out and launch the program in the WinMain function it works, but the code has to be in the window procedure... I've tried numerous alternatives but they all give the same issue. The biggest issue with this is it was working then all of a sudden decided it wasn't going to with no change to both code and environment! In fact, it was about half way through testing changes that it thought it'd stop working. Please help as I cannot do anything without the program launching. It's the first step in the code that I'm debugging!

  • Magento Flash + XML frontend

    Hi guys, I'm working on a Flash frontend for a Magento powered store. This frontend will be an alternative to the HTML shop so it will sit in a subdirectory and use the same Magento installation as the main HTML site. The Flash application will get the data from dynamic XML files. It needs to get almost everything as the HTML site (categories, products, cart, etc). I want this to be a Magento module that can be installed on an already existing Magento installation. I would like to use the Block classes available in Magneto's core code as they already provide a lot of the functionality needed. What steps would you take in order to achieve this? Do you know any examples or articles related to this? Thanks!

  • fullCalendar: Implementing a custom event fetcher using event as function

    If I specify a json feed, the events are re-fetched everytime and the fetching time shows the item appearing which causes a delay which is undesirable (at least after initial fetch was done). I am using the latest version from gitHub 1.4.6. The lazyFetching property seems to only work when you change views and you previously fetched for example a month and are drilling down to week/day which is unusable since I only use agendaDay. I omitted a part where I manually delete those that we're deleted and modify those that we're updated since I am in multi-user settings but you get the point. My issue is that they are fetched once and added. But once I change day and come back, they don't render even if I used sticky... has anyone gotten this error or did I code anything wrong? Also, is this a wrong way to go? I will consider any input. :) Thank you very much.

  • Importing an Excel WorkSheet into a Datatable

    I have been asked to create import functionality in my application. I am getting an excel worksheet as input. The worksheet has column headers followed by data. The users want to simply select an xls file from their system, click upload and the tool deletes the table in the database and adds this new data. I thought the best way would be too bring the data into a datatable object and do a foeach for every row in the datatable insert row by row into the db. My question is what can anyone give me code to open an excel file, know what line the data starts on in the file, and import the data into a datable object?

  • Client-side or server-side processing?

    So, I'm new to dynamic web design (my sites have been mostly static with some PHP), and I'm trying to learn the latest technologies in web development (which seems to be AJAX), and I was wondering, if you're transferring a lot of data, is it better to construct the page on the server and "push" it to the user, or is it better to "pull" the data needed and create the HTML around it on the clientside using JavaScript? More specifically, I'm using CodeIgniter as my PHP framework, and jQuery for JavaScript, and if I wanted to display a table of data to the user (dynamically), would it be better to format the HTML using CodeIgniter (create the tables, add CSS classes to elements, etc..), or would it be better to just serve the raw data using JSON and then build it into a table with jQuery? My intuition says to do it clientside, as it would save bandwidth and the page would probably load quicker with the new JavaScript optimizations all these browsers have now, however, then the site would break for someone not using JavaScript...   • jQuery tablesorter - loss of functionality after AJAX call

    I have recently been experimenting with the tablesorter plugin for jQuery. I have successfully got it up and running in once instance, and am very impressed. However, I have tried to apply the tablesorter to a different table, only to encounter some difficulties... Basically the table causing a problem has a <ul> above it which acts as a set of tabs for the table. so if you click one of these tabs, an AJAX call is made and the table is repopulated with the rows relevant to the specific tab clicked. When the page initially loads (i.e. before a tab has been clicked) the tablesorter functionality works exactly as expected. But when a tab is clicked and the table repopulated, the functionality disappears, rendering it without the sortable feature. Even if you go back to the original tab, after clicking another, the functionality does not return - the only way to do so is a physical refresh of the page in the browser. I have seen a solution which seems similar to my problem on this site, and someone recommends using the jQuery plugin, livequery. I have tried this but to no avail :-( If someone has any suggestions I would be most appreciative. I can post code snippets if it would help (though I know the instantiation code for tablesorter is fine as it works on tables with no tabs - so it's definitely not that!) EDIT: As requested, here are some code snippets: The table being sorted is <table id="#sortableTable#">..</table>, the instantiation code for tablesorter I am using is: $(document).ready(function() { $("#sortableTable").tablesorter( { headers: //disable any headers not worthy of sorting! { 0: { sorter: false }, 5: { sorter: false } }, sortMultiSortKey: 'ctrlKey', debug:true, widgets: ['zebra'] }); }); And I tried to rig up livequery as follows: $("#sortableTable").livequery(function(){ $(this).tablesorter(); }); This has not helped though... I am not sure whether I should use the id of the table with livequery as it is the click on the <ul> I should be responding to, which is of course not part of the table itself. I have tried a number of variations in the hope that one of them will help, but to no avail :-(

  • Advantages of Using Linux as primary developer desktop

    I want to get some input on some of the advantages of why developers should and need to use Linux as their primary development desktop on a daily basic as opposed to using Windows. This is particulary helpful when your Dev, QA, and Production environments are Linux. The current analogy that I keep coming back to is. If I build my demo car as a Ford Escort, but my project car is a Ford Mustang, it doesn't make sense at all. I'm currently at an IT department that allows dual boot with Windows and Linux, but some run Linux while the vast majority use Windows. Here's several advantages that I've came up with since using Linux as a primary desktop. Same Exact operating system as Dev, QA, and Production Same Scripts (.sh) instead of maintaining (.bat and *.sh). Somewhat mitigated by using cygwin, but still a bit different. Team learns simple commands such as: cd, ls, cat, top Team learns Advanced commands like: pkill, pgrep, chmod, su, sudo, ssh, scp Full access to installs typically for Linux, such as RPM, DEB installs just like the target environments. The list could go on and on, but I want to get some feedback of anything that I may have missed, or even any disadvantages (of course there are some). To me it makes sense to migrate an entire team over to using Linux, and using Virtual Box, running Windows XP VM's to test functional items that 95% of most of the world uses. We've also done a 3D animation version of it, which we found to be nowhere near as useful as the Styrofoam balls. There's something about a physical, conspicuous structure hanging from the ceiling right in the middle of a development project that's regularly updated to provide not only the structure of the system that you're building, but also the current status of each one of the classes. We've done it on 19 projects the last time I've counted. One of them was 1,856 classes, which is big - actually, probably bigger than it should be. It was a big commercial project, so it needed to be somewhat big. Masterminds of Programming It is the first time I've read or heard about using styrofoam balls to model classes. Is that a commonly used technique? And, how does that sort of modeling help us to design better the system? If you have any photos to share which can show us how the classes are represented it'd be great!

    I have an application built with GWT/Appengine/Jdo...and i am using Google User Service for authentication. Google Chrome Extensions can use OAuth...I don't really undestand OAuth yet.. Would GWT RPC have to be reworked to enable OAuth? Is there another way to authenticate users for Chrome Extensions?

    Hi everyone, How would I go around overriding a theme function with a .tpl file? I know how to override a .tpl file with a theme function but not the other way round. I can't seem to find anywhere that tells me so, so maybe it's not possible or not good practise. For example if there was a theme function defined in a module called super_results and registered with the theme registry, like the example below, how would I go around overriding it with super_results.tpl.php.   • Which is faster: creating a detailed mesh before execution or tessellating?

    For simplicity of the problem let's consider spheres. Let's say I have a sphere, and before execution I know the radius, the position and the triangle count. Let's also say the triangle count is sufficiently large (e.g. ~50k triangles). Would it be faster generally to create this sphere mesh before hand and stream all 50k triangles to the graphics card, or would it be faster to send a single point (representing the centre of the sphere) and use tessellation and geometry shaders to build the sphere on the GPU? Would it still be faster if I had 100 of these spheres in different positions? Can I use hull/geometry shaders to create something which I can then combine with instancing?

  • Connecting Android XML and Code

    I'm new to android and have gotten used to doing all my previous UI in code. I can understand the simple examples, but I'm trying something more complex and have no idea how to do it in code and XML. I'm trying to use the google map api and draw text on the map at a specified spot. I have succeeded in doing so by extending overlay and overriding the draw method using drawtext. This has pretty much accomplished what I'm looking to do, but I want have read that is poor practice. I now want to add a second line below the first and just using \n does not work. I can work it out using another drawtext method, but I figured it would be better to create a custom textview, I just have no idea how to position it using code and encapsulate it inside the overlay. Maybe the way I'm doing it is the best way...

  • Python's asyncore to periodically send data using a variable timeout. Is there a better way?

    I wanted to write a server that a client could connect to and receive periodic updates without having to poll. The problem I have experienced with asyncore is that if you do not return true when dispatcher.writable() is called, you have to wait until after the asyncore.loop has timed out (default is 30s). The two ways I have tried to work around this is 1) reduce timeout to a low value or 2) query connections for when they will next update and generate an adequate timeout value. However if you refer to 'Select Law' in 'man 2 select_tut', it states, "You should always try to use select() without a timeout." Is there a better way to do this? Twisted maybe? I wanted to try and avoid extra threads.
