• SQL returns non-array value in PHP

- by DeadMG
$request = 'SELECT * FROM flight WHERE Id = \''.$_SESSION['LFLightRadio'].'\''; $data = mysql_fetch_array(mysql_query($request, $SQL)); echo '
'; foreach($data as $key => $value) { echo '
'.$key.'
'; } echo '
'; foreach($data as $key => $value) { echo '
'.$value.'
'; } echo '

'; I know that the LFlightRadio value is set, and is a value returned by the Id value of a previously returned row from the flight database. So within "flight", a record definitely exists with this Id. But, this still gives me a non-array result, so that when I try to use foreach on it, it errors out. Suggestions?

• strlen returns incorrect value when called in gdb

- by alesplin
So I'm noticing some severely incorrect behavior from calls to standard library functions inside GDB. I have the following program to illustrate: #include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h> #include <string.h> int main(int argc, char *argv[]) { char *s1 = "test"; char *s2 = calloc(strlen("test")+1,sizeof(char)); snprintf(s2,strlen("test")+1,"test"); printf("string constant: %lu\n", strlen(s1)); printf("allocated string: %lu\n", strlen(s2)); free(s2); return 0; } When run from the command-line, this program outputs just what you'd expect: string constant: 4 allocated string: 4 However, in GDB, I get the following, incorrect output from calls to strlen(): (gdb) p strlen(s1) $1 = -938856896 (gdb) p strlen(s2) $2 = -938856896 I'm pretty sure this is a problem with glibc shipped with Ubuntu (I'm using 10.10), but this is a serious problem for those of us who spend lots of time in GDB. Is anyone else experiencing this kind of error? What's the best way to fix it? Build glibc from source? (I'm already running a version of GDB built from source)

• How to Build Business Links With SEO Value

In order to create order and plan in the site and make it more identifiable by a business community around, SEO link building requires membership strategies that aid it in its automatic operations by following a universal hub with potential links. The starting point is to obtain a link with the national or regional authority of commerce through its website. This will give the site a licensed look and due to its frequent interaction with the government body it will be a confidence boost for other links. This will also help market it as a recognized site that is secure to communicate with.

• Change the value of a dropdown if it is equal to something

- by Jake Neal
Sorry if this question has already been asked and answered, but I couldn't find anything specifically for my needs. I have a form that has placeholders and javascript to make sure the form isn't submitted with the placeholders still there. There is a dropdown box that has the value of 'Best time to call'. What I want to do is if this value is passed as the default, I want it to change to something like "n/a" or a blank value. I have achieved this with the comments box using the following javascript, but it doesn't seem to work the same for the dropdown: var comments=document.getElementById('comments').value; if (comments=="Comments") { document.getElementById('comments').value=""; } This isn't a required field so I can't have an alert come up, so I just need to value to be changed if submitted as 'Best time to call'. Hope I have explained everything correctly

• JQuery selector value escaping

- by user53794
I have a dropdown list that contains a series of options: <option value="a'b]<p>">a'b]<p> easy Notice that the option value/text contains some nasty stuff: single quotes closing square bracket escaped html I need to remove the a'b]<p option but I'm having no luck writing the selector. Neither: $("#SomeDropdown >option[value='a''b]<p>']"); or $("#SomeDropdown >option[value='a\'b]<p>']"); are returning the option. What is the correct way to escape values when using the "value=" selector?

• C# 2d array value check [duplicate]

- by TLFTN
This question already has an answer here: 3-in-a-row or more logic 4 answers I've managed to create a 2d array, then made it fill up with random numbers, like this: int[,] grid = new int[5, 5] ; Random randomNumber = new Random(); var rowLength = grid.GetLength(0); var colLength = grid.GetLength(1); for (int row = 0; row < rowLength; row++) { for (int col = 0; col < colLength; col++){ grid[row, col] = randomNumber.Next(5); Console.Write(String.Format("{0}\t", grid[row, col]));} Console.WriteLine(); } This results in an array with random values. Example: 3 0 0 3 3 1 3 3 3 2 0 0 2 0 4 3 3 2 0 3 4 0 3 3 0 Notice those three 3s which are connected to each other(in the second row), now how would I check if there's a match like this?

• Error when updating enumerated value?

- by igrad
Once upon a time, there was a Player class (simplified version) enum animState{RUNNING,JUMPING,FALLING,IDLING}; class Player { public: Player(int x, int y); void handle(); void show(); ~Player(); private: int m_x; int m_y; animState playerAnimState; } There was also a "handle" function-member, which took care of all movement and collisions for the player: #include "player.h" void Player::handle() { if(/*Player presses 'D' key*/) { m_x++; playerAnimState = RUNNING; } //Other stuff that is just there to look nice Through lots of experimentation with "//" and "/**/", I've found that I consistently get an error at "playerAnimState = RUNNING." Have I broken some enumeration rule? Does my laptop really suck that bad? I hate to post a "fix my code for me" question, but I'm not very seasoned with enums.

• Web Content Writers Provide Value Beyond Words

With a great deal of fanfare, Apple Computer recently released its iPad, assuring us that we would all become very familiar with this product and how it would change our lives for the better. As technology is difficult to keep up with these days, it's certainly true to say that we've heard this kind of claim before, but there does seem little doubt that one of the company's other products, the iPhone, will go down in history as having revolutionized the way that we communicate. Once again, we see how important the Internet is to us right now and how it is likely to gain additional traction.

• Dictionary as parameter, where the Value-Type is irrelevant

- by aaginor
Hi folks, I have a function, that returns the next higher value of a Dictionary-Keys-List compared to a given value. If we have a Key-List of {1, 4, 10, 24} and a given value of 8, the function would return 10. Obviously the type of the Value-Part of the Dictionary doesn't matter for the function, the function-code for a Dictionary<int, int> and Dictionary<int, myClass> would be the same. How has the method-head have to look like, when I want to call the function with any Dictionary, that has int as key-Type and the value-Type is irrelevant? I tried: private int GetClosedKey(Dictionary<int, object> list, int theValue); but it says that there are illegal arguments, when I call it with a Dictionary. I don't want to copy'n'paste the function for each different value-type that my function may be called. Any idea, how to accomplish that? Thanks in advance, Frank

• pthread_exit return value

- by Manty
This is surprising for me. void * thread_func(void *arg) { pthread_exit(&ret); } int main(void) { pthread_t thr; int *exit_status; pthread_create(&thr, NULL, thread_func, NULL); sleep(2); pthread_join(thr, (void **)&exit_status); printf("value of exit status - %d\n", *exit_status); ret = 20; pthread_join(thr, (void **)&exit_status); printf("value of exit status - %d\n", *exit_status); return 0; } The output is value of exit status - 50 value of exit status - 20 I was expecting both the times the exit_status would be the actual exit value(50 in my case) of the thread. Instead it is just returning the value of the global variable which I used for pthread_exit. Is it not a bug?

When most people talk about SEO content they refer to stuff that is written merely to please the search engines but when the readers go through it, they find nothing but a whole lot of crap. With such content you might be able to get visitors to your site however it will be very difficult to keep them on the site for long because once they read the badly organized content they'll go away. This would mean that you conversion rate would be pretty low, which ultimately signals that you are not making enough of sales.

• Why System.String's beahaves like a value type?

- by Sorush Rabiee
I want to write a 'Date' class that behaves like a Value Type. for example, Instead of writing a Clone method for setting properties safely, make the Date class to pass by value: public Date Birthday { get { return this.birthday; } set { this.birthday = value.Clone(); } //I want to write this.birthday = value; //without changing external value when this.Birthday changes } I know this is possible because System.String is a class and behaves like a value. for example: String s1 = "Hello"; String s2 = "Hi"; s1 = s2; s2="Hello"; Console.WriteLine(s1); //Prints 'Hi' First I thought writers of this class override '=' operator, but now I know that the '=' operator can not be overridden. so how they write String class?
