I've tried putting another foreach loop to iterate through contents of the second array but that really screws up my table by placing random values in different places on the table. Besides the foreach loop, I don't know of any other way to iterate through the array. Any suggestions would be appreciated.Thanks!

• What is the rationale to not allow overloading of C++ conversions operator with non-member function

  C++0x has added explicit conversion operators, but they must always be defined as members of the Source class. The same applies to the assignment operator, it must be defined on the Target class. When the Source and Target classes of the needed conversion are independent of each other, neither the Source can define a conversion operator, neither the Target can define a constructor from a Source.   There is good documentation out there on testing ActionMailer send methods which deliver mail. But I'm unable to figure out how to test a receive method that is used to parse incoming mail.   Suppose we want to count the number of times that a key string appears in a target string. We are going to create two different functions to accomplish this task: one iterative, and one recursive. For both functions, you can rely on Python's find function - you should read up on its specifications to see how to provide optional arguments to start the search for a match at a location other than the beginning of the string. For example, find("atgacatgcacaagtatgcat","atgc") #returns the value 5, while find("atgacatgcacaagtatgcat","atgc",6) #returns the value 15, meaning that by starting the search at index 6, #the next match is found at location 15. For the recursive version, you will want to think about how to use your function on a smaller version of the same problem (e.g., on a smaller target string) and then how to combine the result of that computation to solve the original problem. For example, given you can find the first instance of a key string in a target string, how would you combine that result with invocation of the same function on a smaller target string? You may find the string slicing operation useful in getting substrings of string.

Definition of situation: 1)State diagram can have p states, and s Boolean Fields, and z Int Fields 2)Every state can have q ingoing and r outgoing transitions, and h Int fields (h belongs to z - see above) 3)Every transition can have only 1 event, and only 1 action 4)every action can change n Boolean Fields, and x Int Fields 5)every event can have one trigger from combination of any count of Boolean Fields in diagram 6)Transition can be in OPEN/CLOSED form. If the transition is open/closed depends on trigger2 compounded from 0..c Boolean fields. 7) I KNOW algorithm for finding shortest paths from state A to state B. 8) I KNOW algorithm for finding path that covers all states and transitions of whole state diagram, if all transitions are OPEN. Now, what is the goal: I need to find shortest path that covers all states and transitions in dynamically changing state diagram described above. When an action changes some int field, the algorithm should go through all states that have changed int field. The algorithm should also be able to open and close transition (by going through transitions that open and close another transitions by action) in the way that the founded path will be shortest and covers all transitions and states. Any idea how to solve it? I will be really pleased for ANY idea. Thanks for answers.

  Sorry for the poor title, I couldn't think how to concisely describe this problem. I have a set of items that should have a 1-to-1 relationship with an attribute. I have a query to return those rows where the data is wrong and this relationship has been broken (1-to-many). I'm gathering these rows to fix them and restore this 1-to-1 relationship.   I have a dictionary array with a key:@"titleLabel". I am trying to load a pickerView with ONE instance of each @"titleLabel" key so that if there are multiple objects with the same @"titleLabel" only one title will be displayed. I've done some research on this forum and looked at apples docs but haven't been able to put the puzzle together. Below is my code but I am having trouble pulling the values.   I am trying to get my TagsController#index action to display only the Questions that contain certain tags when passing the search parameter tag_name. I am not getting an error just can't get the filter to work correctly such that upon receiving the /tags?tag_name=something url, only those questions are displayed . • php - create columns from mysql list

  I have a long list generated from a simple mysql select query. Currently (shown in the code below) I am simply creating list of table rows with each record. So, nothing complicated. However, I want to divide it into more than one column, depending on the number of returned results. I've been wrapping my brain around how to count this in the php, and I'm not getting the results I need. <table> <? $query = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM `sometable`"); while($rows = mysql_fetch_array($query)){ ?> <tr> <td><?php echo $rows['someRecord']; ?></td> </tr> <? } ?> </table> Obviously there's one column generated. So if the records returned reach 10, then I want to create a new column. In other words, if the returned results are 12, I have 2 columns. If I have 22 results, I'll have 3 columns, and so on.

• identifier ... is undefined when trying to run pure C code in Cuda using nvcc

  I'm new and learning Cuda. A approach that I'm trying to use to learn is to write code in C and once I know its working start converting it to Cuda since I read that nvcc compiles Cuda code but complies everything else using plain old c. My code works in c(using gcc) but when I try to compile it using nvcc(after changing the file name from main.c to main.cu) I get main.cu(155): error: identifier "num_of_rows" is undefined main.cu(155): error: identifier "num_items_in_row" is undefined 2 errors detected in the compilation of "/tmp/tmpxft_00002898_00000000-4_main.cpp1.ii". Basically in my main method I send data to a function like this: process_list(count, countListItem, list); the first two items are ints and the last item(list) is a matrix. Then I create my function like this: void process_list(int num_of_rows, int num_items_in_row, int current_list[num_of_rows][num_items_in_row]) { This line is where I get my errors when using nvcc(line 155). I need to convert this code to cuda anyway so no need to troubleshoot this specific issue(plus code is quite large) but I'm wondering if I'm wrong about nvcc treating the C part of your code like plain C. In the book cuda by example I just used nvcc to compile but do I need any extra flags when just using pure c?

  I need a multidimensional data structure with a row and a column. Must be able to insert elements any location in the data structure. Example: {A , B} I want to insert C in between A and B. {A, C, B}. Dynamic: I do not know the size of the data structure. Another example: I know the [row][col] of where I want to insert the element. EX. insert("A", 1, 5), where A is the element to be inserted, 1 is the row, 5 is the column. EDIT I want to be able to insert like this. static void Main(string[] args) { Program p = new Program(); List<string> list = new List<string>(); list.Insert(1, "HELLO"); list.Insert(5, "RAWR"); for (int i = 0; i < list.Count; i++) { Console.WriteLine(list[i]); } Console.ReadKey(); } And of course this crashes with an out of bounds error. So in a sense I will have a user who will choose which ROW and COL to insert the element to.

  Hey, I want to get the 5 latest active topics within several category's. Each topic has a subcatid and this subcatid relates to a catid. What I want is to get the 5 active topics within each catid. • Is there a way to detect Layout or Display changes in WPF?

  Hello! I am trying to check how fast the Frame control can display a FixedPage object when it is assigned to Frame.Content property. I plan to check the tick count before and after the assignment to the Content property. Example: int starttime = Environment.TickCount; frame1.Content = fixedpage; int endtime = Environment.TickCount; The problem is that the assignment to the Content property might be asynchronous and returns immediately therefore i get a zero amount of time. The rendering of the FixedPage however visually has a lag time from assignment of the Content property up to the point where the FixedPage appears on screen. The Frame.ContentChanged() event is no good either because it gets triggered even before the FixedPage appears on screen so it's not accurate. I'm thinking of detecting the change on the window or control's display instead in order to get the time when the FixedPage is actually displayed on screen. Is there a way to do this in WPF? Thanks!

• Prolog singleton variables in Python

  I'm working on a little set of scripts in python, and I came to this: line = "a b c d e f g" a, b, c, d, e, f, g = line.split() I'm quite aware of the fact that these are decisions taken during implementation, but shouldn't (or does) python offer something like: _, _, var_needed, _, _, another_var_needed, _ = line.split() as well as Prolog does offer, in order to exclude the famous singleton variables. I'm not sure, but wouldn't it avoid unnecessary allocation? Or creating references to the result of the split call does not count up as overhead? EDIT: Sorry, my point here is: in Prolog, as far as I'm concerned, in an expression like: test(L, N) :- test(L, 0, N). test([], N, N). test([_|T], M, N) :- V is M + 1, test(T, V, N). The variable represented by _ is not accessible, for what I suppose the reference to the value that does exist in the list [_|T] is not even created. But, in Python, if I use _, I can use the last value assigned to _, and also, I do suppose the assignment occurs for each of the variables _ -- which may be considered an overhead. My question here is if shouldn't there be (or if there is) a syntax to avoid such unnecessary attributions.

  Ok I have a table in my MSSQL database that stores comments. My desire is to be able to page though the records using [Back],[Next], page numbers & [Last] buttons in my datalist. I figured the most efficient way was to use a stored procedure that only returns a certain number of rows within a partcular range. Here is what I came up with @PageIndex INT, @PageSize INT, @postid int AS SET NOCOUNT ON begin WITH tmp AS ( SELECT comments.*, ROW_NUMBER() OVER (ORDER BY dateposted ASC) AS Row FROM comments WHERE (comments.postid = @postid)) SELECT tmp.* FROM tmp WHERE Row between (@PageIndex - 1) * @PageSize + 1 and @PageIndex*@PageSize end RETURN Now everything works fine and I have been able implement [Next] and [Back] buttons in my datalist pager.Now I need the total number of all comments(not in the cuurent page) so that I can implement my page numbers and the[Last] button on my pager. In other words I want to return the total number of rows in my first select statement i.e WITH tmp AS ( SELECT comments.*, ROW_NUMBER() OVER (ORDER BY dateposted ASC) AS Row FROM comments WHERE (comments.postid = @postid)) set @TotalRows = @@rowcount @@rowcount doesnt work and raises an error.I also cant get count.* to work either. Is there another way to get the total amount of rows or is my approach doomed.

• Why is my code stopping and not returning an exception?

  I have some code that starts a couple of threads to let them execute, then uses a while loop to check for the current time passing a set timeout period, or for the correct number of results to have been processed (by checking an int on the class object) (with a Thread.Sleep() to wait between loops) Once the while loop is set to exit, it calls Abort() on the threads and should return data to the function that calls the method. When debugging and stepping through the code, I find there can be exceptions in the code running on the separate threads, and in some cases I handle these appropriately, and at other times I don't want to do anything specific. What I have been seeing is that my code goes into the while loop and the thread sleeps, then nothing is returned from my function, either data or an exception. Code execution just stops completely. Any ideas what could be happening?
