I have the following in my .ssh/config Host aliasname Hostname 12.34.56.78 User username IdentityFile /path/to/cert.pem Then when I enter ssh aliasname it says: ssh: Could not resolve hostname aliasname: Name or service not known. Have I missed something?

  I have multiple computers, some have a 10/100 ethernet adapter while others have a 10/100/1000 ones. If I connect them together with the Cisco sg100-08 switch, do I keep the 1Gbit speed where possible (between two devices at 1Gbit speed) or the whole lan slows down to 100mbit?   I have an original Eee PC 1000 running the stock Xandros. I have run into problems where the internal WiFi card does not seem to have enough sensitivity to connect to a lot of access points. Although the computer will report APs in the area, unless the signal strength is over 80% (as reported by the Wireless networks application) I cannot seem get a connection. So is there a recommended USB WiFi adapter that is known to work with the Eee PC/Xandros system or in general with a Debian based system?

  Hello, I'm implementing a remotedesktop access to a server thru xvnc/xinetd/gdm. I'd like many users to connect to that server using vnc (thus providing the gdm login screen) and want that if the xvnc session is closed, it would 'xlock' the session so next time user connects it will resume his session. Tried several parameter tweaks, but unfortunately each time the vnc viewer is closes, the X session is also destroyed. Help/clues would be really appreciated.

  Had a power outage last night, still cleaning up from that. I have a file server that doesn't know it's part of the domain (getting the error: windows cannot connect to the domain either because the domain controller is down). I read that "resetting" the machine account the bring it back into the domain will do the trick. Since this is the file server for the entire office, I would like to be sure that I won't bork the umpteen number of shares on this server. Thanks!
