What is the email limit on Google Apps Script?

Can someone tell me if there is a webpage that lists the official Google limit on emails sent from a Google Apps Script? In testing my little script I got a Service invoked too many times: email (# 59) and now I can't send any more emails. The obvious place for this information would be in the MailApp.sendEmail documentation. But, that does not say anything about a limit. I found this discussion on the google forum from 2/11/10 where users discuss about a 100 or 500 emails/day limit, with a 24 hour ban, but no one from Google provided an official answer. Note that this is for google apps script, which is different from the google app engine, which does have well published limits.

firefox: getting access to the list of tabs/windows to restore on startup

Sometimes ffox fails to restore the previously open tabs/windows. This might be happening when some of the urls to be opened are no longer reachable (e.g. behind a vpn) or after the underlying OS (Windows) has been forcibly restarted (e.g. to complete an automated patch installation). Anyway, after restarting, can this list of urls be recovered somehow? Say for example, I was daft enough to have clicked on "start new session". Can I still get access to the old list of open urls? There is the browser history of course, but it contains a lot of stuff - the urls that were open when ffox last exited are not obvious. It would be neat if they were marked in some way - tagged for example. .robb

TableView - iVar reset when returning from details view

Hi, anyone knows what I need to do to retain my TableView iVars whilst pushing a details view onto the navigation stack? I have an array and a date defined as iVars and the array is retained, whilst the date is not. I checked whether there may be an autorelease hidden somewhere but there are no obvious ones. The properties are defined as nonatomic, retain. I use custom NSDate category methods to determine specific dates at stages. What needs checking in for a Grails app?

What parts of a Grails application need to be stored in source-control? Some obvious parts that are needed: grails-app directory test directory web-app directory Now we reach questions like: If we use a Grails plug-in (like gldapo), do we need to check in that plugin? Do Grails plugins install in the Grails directory, or your project? I'm not looking to start a religious war about .project, so please ignore that, but are there any "hidden" project files I need to worry about, along with the plugin issues? Converted to a community wiki, as new versions of Grails have changed some of these solutions, especially as regards plugins.

T-SQL out of order insert

Basically I have a User-Defined Table Type (for use as a table-valued variable) which I'm referencing in a stored procedure that effectively just calls two other stored procedures, then inserts those values into the table type. Id est INSERT INTO @tableValuedVariable (var1, var2, var3, var4, var5) EXEC [dbo].StoredProcedure1; INSERT INTO @tableValuedVariable (var1, var2, var5) EXEC [dbo].StoredProcedure2; You can probably already tell what I'm going to ask. Basically StoredProcedure2 only returns a few of the values the table is set to hold, and I'd like those other variables to just be null (as defined as default). Only SQL is complaining that I'm not specifying all the variables available to that table. The return datasets can be quite sizable so I'd like to avoid loops and such for obvious reasons. Jquery selectors by CSS class in IE is really slow--workarounds?

I have a web app where I have several elements with class="classA". I want to select and apply a function to all of them. I am doing the obvious thing, which is $(".classA").each(function () { ... }). This works just fine in Chrome/Safari/Firefox but is really slow in IE. It turns out IE has serious performance issues when selecting things by CSS class in jQuery. I was wondering if anyone has suggestions on good ways to deal with this. I can't use ID selectors because there can be multiple DOM elements I want to select.

How do i supress keypress being printed to console in .NET?

Hello, I'm porting a small C++ console game to C# and it seems that I can't stop key presses from being printed to the console. In C++ I get the keystroke with this method, which also suppress the keystrokes from being printed to the console: bool Game::getInput(char *c) { if (_kbhit()) { *c = _getch(); return true; } return false; } I tried to do the equivalent in C# by doing: Key = Console.ReadKey(); But this does not suppress the character from being printed to the console, causing obvious problems. Any ideas on how to remedy this?

Java webapp: where/how to automatically set each picture's width/height

For several reasons, a lot of "webmaster guides" (like Google and Yahoo!'s webmaster guides/guidelines) repeats several times that it is better to always put the width and height attribute of the img tag. One of the most obvious reason is that the elements in the page won't seem to be "jumping around" to a new location after every picture is loaded (always setting the correct width/height sure gets rid of this behavior). And there are other reasons to follow these guidelines / best practices. So: if we consider that these are indeed good practices if there are a lot of pictures and they are changing often if pictures aren't changing between two .war re-deploy (that is: there's no user-contributed picture) if we don't want to manually edit all these width/height attributes How do we automatically/programmatically serve HTML pages where every img tag have their width/height attribute correctly set as the best practice recommend?

newbie: Rails on remote Apache server not displaying index.html.erb

I played around with Rails on my laptop (running Linux + Apache + MySQL) and had no trouble getting the Getting Started with Rails tutorial to work locally. Now I'm trying the same thing at work on a remote Mac OS X + Apache server, and things aren't quite so rosy. I typed rails blog -d mysql to create a directory called blog in /Library/WebServer/Documents/mydirectory. The trouble is, if I go to server.com/mydirectory/public, I get the public/index.html in my browser. But, I don't get this file if I go to server.com/mydirectory/. Instead, I get a 403 error. Also, when I: script/generate controller home index to create: app/views/home/index.html.erb I am unable to view this file, whether I go to server.com/mydirectory/home/index, or if I add a new line (map.root :controller => "home") to config/routes.rb and go to server.com/mydirectory. Am I missing something really obvious about Apache and Rails?

How should I compensate for a bad WSDL?

I've come across several examples of SOAP-based web services where automated tooling fails to build a client that works. Investigating these examples leads me to believe that the WSDL the service uses to describe itself doesn't quite match the service that's being provided. Maybe a wrong type somewhere, a different data structure - something. I'm unsure what the most appropriate response is - if we assume that the obvious one (get the provider to fix their stuff) isn't available. Some options I can think of: Make a fixed WSDL? Hack the generated code? Any other options? No good options? What good experiences have people had? What works in a real environment? Thanks

Eclipse Javascript code assist problem in using WTP

Hi, I'm new to WTP so excuse me if the solution to this is obvious. When i define and use a class from within the same file i get nice code assist help, i also get code assist for classes from the standard libraries. Unortunatly, when i try to use code and declarations from one file in another file i no longer get t he nice code assist features. I have searched the web and tried a couple of things, making shoure JS is enabled for the project, making sure the folder the scripts are in is added to the JS source folder list and even trying making a new folder with the decleration files in and adding it as a library. I would really like ot get this feature working so any help would be appreciated.

How do I layout an image that will be dynamically sized in interface builder?

I am having trouble laying out scrollable view in interface builder. A screen shot of my layout is here. As you can see the layout is pretty simple. The UIImageView above the text will not have a specific height. It may be 100px high or 300px high. This is why the view is scrollable. I am experiencing two problems with this layout: 1) For some reason the image will sit behind the text instead of pushing it down. Take a look here. 2) The obvious other problem is that the upper most UIImage and UILabel are getting pushed up off of the screen. I am thinking this has to do with the UIScrollView but I haven't been able to figure out why. Thanks!

Jquery cross-fade rollover problems in IE7

I built some cross fade rollovers in IE7 using this single image technique: http://jqueryfordesigners.com/image-cross-fade-transition/ It works by placing the rollover image in the background and fading the original image state when the user rollovers the image. IE7 hates it. The rollover state shows up directly below the original image. You can check it out here: http://hardtopdepot.com/dev/inner.html It should be pretty obvious in IE7 but the add to cart buttons are suppossed to be Jquery rollovers. I am by no means a JS expert so Im not sure how to go about solving this problem, any suggestions would be very helpful. Thanks-

Is it possible to "intercept" a 3rd party library's "WriteFile" operation

This is likely a long shot, but I thought I'd ask anyway. I'm using a document management system's API. They provide a "WriteFile" method to save a given document to disk. However, the library does not have a way to simply read a document into memory. My only option, it seems, is to write to disk, then read it back in again. I'm wondering if there is a better way to work around this obvious limitation. Thanks in advance!

Using C preprocessor to construct a string literal for scanf?

I'm attempting to create an sscanf string literal to aid in buffer overrun prevention in C99. The goal is something like: #define MAX_ARG_LEN 16 char arg[MAX_ARG_LEN] = ""; if (sscanf(arg, "%"(MAX_ARG_LEN-1)"X", &input) > 0) The obvious "manual" solution is something like: #define MAX_ARG_LEN 16 #define MAX_ARG_CHARS "15" char arg[MAX_ARG_LEN] = ""; if (sscanf(arg, "%"MAX_ARG_CHARS"X", &input) > 0) However, I would prefer something to automatically generate "%15X" given a buffer size of 16. So far I got the following: textView = [[UITextView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(25.0, 30.0, 295.0, 214.0)]; textView.delegate = self; textView.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; textView.font = [UIFont fontWithName:@"MarkerFelt-Thin" size:19.0]; [self.view addSubview:textView]; The thing I dont know is how they were able to put the date on top like a header (it is within the UIScrollView that is obvious). Also under every text there is a line where did that came from. Does someone have an idea or a sample project I can take a look at?

Windbg + IDA: calculate an address in a module

Hi all, I'm debugging remotely a windows XP machine. One of my drivers is loaded at address 0xb2c4c000 up to 0xb2cb9680. Now when I open my driver in IDA, the offset I want to set a breakpoint on is at 00017619. How can I effectively match my IDA address into windbg? I've tried the obvious which is to sum 0xb2c4c000 + 00017619 = 0xB2C635F7 and disassemble that address using the 'u' command in windbg. But the results did not match the assembly in IDA. On the side question: is there a way to cancel a command that is running in windbg? Several times I've ran commands that took ages to process, I would like to be able to cancel them if needed. So I can keep working. Thanks for your time.

This may seem as an open-ended question but I'll surely accept the most impressive and upvoted answer ;) Basically, I could describe my own case - I just fail 5 times a day with my intuition cause very frequently I can be just not up-to-the-speed with my requirements/manager/team/etc. and I just have to make code quickly - that's why proper formalization in many cases stands aside. I want to gather some experience of yours - what was the most epic failure when you did rely on you implicit reasoning/intuitive knowledge/immediate perception etc. of course everything you describe should be related to programming/computers. How do I handle a JSON request returning a String in JQuery?

Hi all, New to json/jQuery so sorry if this has an obvious answer. I'm doing an ajax request in jQuery that's something like: $.ajax({ url: theURL, dataType: 'jsonp', type: 'get', success: function(data) { alert("it's there"); } }); The request asks whether a given object is in a database. If it is, it returns something of the format: { "text": "duck", "canonical_name": "duck", "language": { "id": "en" }} However, if the object isn't there, it returns: Not Found As in...literally that exact string, not in any kind of json format as far as I know. Is there any way I can get my ajax to detect this? Right now it doesn't even seem to be acknowledging that it got anything back in the latter case. The json code wasn't written by me. It can possibly be fixed if this is not the correct format and there's absolutely nothing I can do from my end to work with this, but I'd really like to try to find some kind of workaround if possible. Java framework "suggestion" for persisting the results from an Oracle 9i stored procedure using Apac

Hello, I am developing a Java servlet which calls an Oracle stored procedure. The stored procedure is likely to "grow" over time, and I have concerns the amount of time taken to "display the results on a web page". While I am at the implementation stage, I would like some suggestions of a Persistence framework which will work on Apache Tomcat 5.5? I see two approaches to persisting the database results. A scheduled database query every N minutes, or something which utilises triggers. Hibernate seems like the obvious answer, but I have never called stored procedures from Hibernate (HQL and Criteria). Is there a more appropriate framework which can be used? Thank you. cheers Miles.

Make process crash on large memory allocation

I'm trying to find a significant memory leak (15MB at a time, but doing allocations like this on multiple places). I checked the most obvious places, and then used AQTime, but I still can't pinpoint it. Now I see 2 options left: 1) Use SetProcessWorkingSetSize: I've tried this but my process happily keeps on running when using up more then 150MB: DWORD MemorySize = 150*1024*1024; SetProcessWorkingSetSize( GetCurrentProcess(), MemorySize/2, MemorySize*2 ); 2) Put a breakpoint when allocating more then 1MB at a time. How should I do this, overload operator new with an 'if1MB' inside ?

CSS Relative sized header/footer

Hi I'm not a CSS expert so I might be missing something obvious. I'm trying to set a relative size header and footer (so that on larger monitors, the header and footer are larger than on smaller screens). To do this, I'm using a percentage height. However, this only works if I set the position to absolute. The problem is, setting it to absolute means that it overlaps the main part of the screen (inbetween the header and footer). Setting it to relative doesn't work since it relies on items being inside the header/footer. This is what my header looks like: .header { position:absolute; top:0px; background-color:white; width:100%; height:30%; } the ASPX page simply contains <div class="header"></div> Is there a way to get relatively proportioned header and footers?
