  Given a string that ends in a whitespace character return true. I'm sure I should be able to do this with regular expressions but I'm not having any luck. MSDN reference for regular expressions tells me that \s should match on a whitespace, but I can't figure the rest out.

  I'd be curious to understand if there's any substantial difference in specifying libraries (both shared and static) to gcc/g++ in the two following ways (CC can be g++ or gcc) CC -o output_executable /path/to/my/libstatic.a /path/to/my/libshared.so source1.cpp source2.cpp ... sourceN.cpp vs CC -o output_executable -L/path/to/my/libs -lstatic -lshared source1.cpp source2.cpp ... sourceN.cpp I can only see a major difference being that passing directly the fully-specified library name would make for a greater control in choosing static or dynamic versions, but I suspect there's something else going on that can have side effects on how the executable is built or will behave at runtime, am I right? • What is the 'noreq' Filter Type an Alias for?

  I'm looking in to Magento's filtering options (Ecommerce System and PHP Framekwork with an expansive ORM system). Specifically the addFieldToFilter method. In this method, you specify a SQLish filter by passing in a single element array, with the key indicating the type of filter. For example, array('eq'=>'bar') //eq means equal array('neq'=>'bar') //neq means not equal would each give you a where clause that looks like where field = 'bar'; where field != 'bar'; So, deep in the bowels of the source, I found a comparison type named 'moreq' that maps to a = comparison operator array('moreq'=>'27') where field >= 27 The weird thing is, there's already a 'gteq' comparision type array('gteq'=>'27') where field >= 27 So, my question is, what does moreq stand for? Is is some special SQL concept that's supported in other databases that the Magento guys wants to map to MySQL, or is it just "more required" and an example what happens when you're doing rapid agile and trying to maintain backwards compatibility.

I've also tried 3 varieties of the new bind function format, both also don't seem to ever fire the routing function.

• How to set the application path to the running program?

  Hello, I have a program that is executed by another program. The program that is being executed needs files located at its own location [same folder]. If I call myfile.open("xpo.dll") I might get an error because I am not passing the [fullpath + name + extension]. The program that is being executed can vary paths depending on the installation path. Therefore, I was wondering if there is a way to get the application path [where the application is located] and set it so that when another program executes from another path everything might work properly...? [Using C++ without .NET Framework] Thanks.

  when i run this from the repl: (def md (MessageDigest/getInstance "SHA-1")) (. md update (into-array [(byte 1) (byte 2) (byte 3)])) I get: No matching method found: update for class java.security.MessageDigest$Delegate the Java 6 docs for MessageDigest show: update(byte[] input) Updates the digest using the specified array of bytes. and the class of (class (into-array [(byte 1) (byte 2) (byte 3)])) is [Ljava.lang.Byte; Am I missing something in the definition of update? Not creating the class I think I am? Not passing it the type I think I am?

• Programatically opening an xml file in MS Word

  I'm opening an xml file in Microsoft Word 2007 using C#. I'm using an xsl file to define the layout which worked up to the point that I needed to include an image. I used the typical src html tag and the image displays when the xml is viewed in ie but not when it's opened in Word. I get the image place holder so I can only assume Word simply can't find the image. It's sitting next to both the xml file and xsl file but that doesn't make any difference. To open the document I'm passing the filenames for both the xml and xsl. I would imagine that as the src is in the xsl it would just look relative to one of these files. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. [EDIT] Apologies I lost track of this one. I fixed it in the end. I'll check what my solution was tomorrow and update this.

I have thought I'd find useful the possibility of passing the template I want to render as a parameter as 'max' in this example: <div id="sidebar"> {% render "AcmeArticleBundle:Article:recentArticles" with {'max': 3} %} </div> Is that possible in symfony2?   This is a simple question, but I can't work it out. The specifics aren't important, but here's the gist. I have some code like this: var lat = 0; var lon = 0; if (navigator.geolocation) { navigator.geolocation.getCurrentPosition(function(position) { lat = position.coords.latitude; lon = position.coords.longitude; }); } What I think it's doing is: Set lat and lon to 0 If the browser has geolocation, overwrite those variables with real values However, at the end of that chunk, lat and lon are still 0. I've tried adding vars, passing lat and lon to the function etc but with no success... How do I make this work?

• Using UNC path as paths location in Mecurial IIS6 Server2003

  I'm running the latest Mercurial and Python 2.6; IIS6 is using the wildcard ISAPI method to attach the site to the Mecurial hgwebdir_wsgi [paths] \ = \\COMP3254\TestRepo\* [web] baseurl = / allow_push = * push_ssl = false style = monoblue The setup works perfectly if I reference the local drive E:\repo* but doesnt work if I specify the network as above; I've given the server (MERCDEV01$) full permissions on the shared folder on COMP3254, I can't think of any other reason it wouldn't work. Any ideas?

• Accessing custom user profile fields in CCK

  I'm probably going about this the wrong way but... I’ve added a field to the User Profile called profile_real_name which is required by the user. Is there a way to access the details in CCK? For example in CCK when creating a new field I can access the user’s username with the ‘User reference’ Field type and setting the ‘Widget type’ to ‘Autocomplete text field’. Can I do the same with my real name field? Many thanks

• Starting mongrel with a custom command line argument

  I would like to be able to start a mongrel or webrick server by passing an extra command line argument that I can read somewhere inside my rails application. An example would be: ruby script/server -p3000 --target=FOO Here, --target is a custom switch who's value I would like to intercept in my rails application. However, this yields the error: server: invalid option: --target=FOO I found mongrel documentation which mentions a -C (--config=PATH) argument specifying a full path to a yml configuration file, but specifying that switch gives the same error as above. I presume this option is deprecated. Is there another way to accomplish this?
