• Why acegi (Spring Security) converts password to uppercase before comparing ?

  One of my colleague in QA team reported a bug to me, the bug said that can't change password to lowercase, otherwise login is rejected,using number or uppercase is all fine. The login system was implemented using acegi 1.0 (now called Spring Security). This was a very strange bug,changing password is done by encrypting the user input string into MD5 string, I implemented this without using anything related acegi, I don't if the is the origin cause of the problem. When the login is rejected, through debugging, I find that, the user input is converted into uppercase by acegi when passing to the acegi comparing logic. At first, I didn't believe this, when I checkout the acegi source and debugging with it, I find it does convert both username and password to uppercase (source code line 121), Can you tell me why it does this? This can cause password encoding mismatch!

  I would like to have this piece of code in my .aspx file: <input class="ms-ButtonHeightWidth" type="button" name="BtnOK" id="Button2" value="Close" onclick="javascript:HandleOKButtonClick()" accesskey="<%$Resources:wss,okbutton_accesskey%>" /> Unfortunately, ASP.net doesn't seem to like that: An error occurred during the processing of /_layouts/MyPage/Info.aspx. Literal expressions like '<%$Resources:wss,okbutton_accesskey%>' are not allowed. Use <asp:Literal runat="server" Text="<%$Resources:wss,okbutton_accesskey%>" /> instead That doesn't work in this situation as that would mean nesting the Literal between the quotes of the accesskey attribute, which causes a "The tag contains duplicate 'ID' attributes" error. Is there a way to use a string from a resource without having to change the input to an asp:Button? I guess there has to be a way using <%=, but I don't know how I would address the resource itself?

  I wanna build server socket emulator, but I want implement some design pattern there. I will described my case study that I have simplified like these: My Server Socket will always listen client socket. While some request message come from the client socket, the server emulator will response the client through the socket. the response is response code. '00' will describe request message processed successfully, and another response code expect '00' will describe there are some error while processing the message request. IN the server there are some UI, this UI contain check response parameter such as. response code timeout interval While the server want to response the client message, the response code taken from input parameter response form UI check the timeout interval, it will create sleep thread and the interval taken from timeout interval input from UI. I have implement the function, but I create it in one class. I feel it so sucks. Can you suggest me what class / interface that I must create to refactor my code.

• All Permutations of a string when corresponding characters are not in the same place

  I need all possible permutations of a given string such that no character should remain at the same place as in the input string. Eg. : for input "ask" Output: all possible permutaions like "ksa", "kas"... such that 'a' is not in the 1st position , 's' is not in the 2nd positions and so on... in any permutation. I only need the count of such possible permutations I can do this by generating all permutations and filtering them but I need a very efficient way of doing this. All characters in the string are "UNIQUE" Preferred language C++.

• Conversion of DOM element selection code to jQuery

  I have a large Javascript codebase to convert to jQuery. The code is structured such that DOM elements are created in Javascript (using a library called DomBuilder), and saved to variables if they will be needed later, before being added to the DOM. Eg. var inputs = { submitConfirm: INPUT({type: 'button', value: 'Submit'}), submitCancel : INPUT({type: 'button', value: 'Cancel'}) }; document.appendChild(inputs.submitConfirm); Then later for example... inputs.submitCancel.style.display = 'none'; inputs.submitCancel.addEventListener('click', onClickSubmitCancel, false); My problem is that jQuery seems to lack a way of manipulating DOM elements directly, as opposed to selecting them first (with for example $('#submitCancel'). Can anyone suggest a way to directly translate the last two Javascript lines given above to use jQuery, given that the DOM elements are already available, and so do not need to be selected?

In the case of concatenation, it is performed by overlapping those characters. • Connect to an existing process

  Hole thing is happening on the mac os x. Let's assume that I've opened an program by clicking on an .app icon. It's a python program with GUI which has a separate process that waits for a user input. But as I've opened it by clickin .app icon I dont have access to it's input as I would have if I opened it in Terminal. And the question is: How can I connect new Terminal window to this running program? I tried pipes but I'm not sure how to use them correctly. My guess was to find PID of the app that is running and then pipe to this program by giving a PID. But I have no idea how to do it. I hope you were able to understand what's the problem. Sorry for my weak english :)

  As a first project I have been writing a short program to render the Mandelbrot fractal. I have got to the point of trying to output my results to a file ( e.g. .bmp or .ppm ) and got stuck. I have not really found any examples of exactly what I am trying to do, but I have found two examples of code to copy from one file to another. The examples in the Gforth documentation ( Section 3.27 ) did not work for me ( winXP ) in fact they seemed to open and create files but not write to files properly. This is the Gforth documentation example that copies the contents of one file to another: 0 Value fd-in 0 Value fd-out : open-input ( addr u -- ) r/o open-file throw to fd-in ; : open-output ( addr u -- ) w/o create-file throw to fd-out ; s" foo.in" open-input s" foo.out" open-output : copy-file ( -- ) begin line-buffer max-line fd-in read-line throw while line-buffer swap fd-out write-line throw repeat ; I found this example ( http://rosettacode.org/wiki/File_IO#Forth ) which does work. The main problem is that I can't isolate the part that writes to a file and have it still work. It seems that the problem was due to not flushing the relevant buffers or explicitly closing the file. • Why does my Perl regular expression only find the last occurrence?

  I have the following input to a Perl script and I wish to get the first occurrence of NAME="..." strings in each of the <table>...</table> structures. The entire file is read into a single string and the regex acts on that input. However, the regex always returns the last occurrence of NAME="..." strings. Can anyone explain what is going on and how this can be fixed?   I am a Powershell novice and have run into a challenge in reading, sorting, and outputting a csv file. The input csv has no headers, the data is as follows: 05/25/2010,18:48:33,Stop,a1usak,10.128.212.212 05/25/2010,18:48:36,Start,q2uhal,10.136.198.231 05/25/2010,18:48:09,Stop,s0upxb,10.136.198.231 I use the following piping construct to read the file, sort and output to a file: (Get-Content d:\vpnData\u62gvpn2.csv) | %{,[regex]::Split($, ",")} | sort @{Expression={$[3]}},@{Expression={$_[1]}} | out-file d:\vpnData\u62gvpn3.csv The new file is written with the following format: 05/25/2010 07:41:57 Stop a0uaar 10.128.196.160 05/25/2010 12:24:24 Start a0uaar 10.136.199.51 05/25/2010 20:00:56 Stop a0uaar 10.136.199.51 What I would like to see in the output file is a similar format to the original input file with comma dilimiters: 05/25/2010,07:41:57,Stop,a0uaar,10.128.196.160 05/25/2010,12:24:24,Start,a0uaar,10.136.199.51 05/25/2010,20:00:56,Stop,a0uaar,10.136.199.51 But I can't quite seem to get there. • jQuery Validation using the class instead of the name value

  Hi, I'd like to validate a form using the jquery validate plugin, but I'm unable to use the 'name' value within the html - as this is a field also used by the server app. Specifically, I need to limit the number of checkboxes checked from a group. (Maximum of 3.) All of the examples I have seen, use the name attribute of each element. What I'd like to do is use the class instead, and then declare a rule for that. html This works: <input class="checkBox" type="checkbox" id="i0000zxthy" name="salutation" value="1" /> This doesn't work, but is what I'm aiming for: <input class="checkBox" type="checkbox" id="i0000zxthy" name="i0000zxthy" value="1" /> javascript: var validator = $(".formToValidate").validate({ rules:{ "salutation":{ required:true, }, "checkBox":{ required:true, minlength:3 } } }); Is it possible to do this - is there a way of targeting the class instead of the name within the rules options? It has been displaying properly up until vertical thumbnails entered the equation. Now, when the next row should start, the first item of the following row is to the left of the last vertical DIV (thumbnail), rather than flush to the left of the containing DIV. • String.fromCharCode & CharacterSets

  Hi Folks, I recently tried to mirror some input within input(text) fields. Using String.fromCharCode(event.which) for instance, translates all 'standard' characters correctly. Well it translates them all to uppercase, but that you can easily catch by looking up the shift key aswell. My Problem is, it can't translate characters like dots, commas, questionmarks etc. First guess was that I have to define a character encoding set, but that does not seem to help. • Problem with onscreen keyboard on Droid

  Hi all i am developing an application which has a general text entry form. So while testing on my moto droid, i am facing a strange issue-- when i touch an input field ( which is at lower end of the screen) -- the on screen keyboard pops up and hides the input field. So user have to enter blindly. So is this a sdk issue OR it is particular for droids OR am i doing something wrong??? I have tested this same form on G1, Hero..i see no issues at all. Please help...

• nested columns in compass/sass

  I've been studying compass and while it is a fun thing to play with and use, one thing bothers me(besides being unable to add padding as it wrecks the grid), how do I nest columns? I want to be able to do what blueprint does: nest containers like say, I have a 24-column page divided in two(17 and 7 columns). In the right part of that page(the one with 7 columns), I want to divided some elements into two(2 and 5 columns). I tried this: #main +container #main-content +column(17) +box-padding(17, 10px) :margin :right 0 #sidebar +column(7, true) +box-padding(7, 10px) That's the code for the main page. The sidebar contains a list with some labels and input fields li +container :margin :bottom 5px label +column(2) :margin :right 0 input +column(5, true) It kinda works, but inspecting the li in firebug shows that it's width is actually 950px as opposed to be just 270px since it is just 7 columns. I tried googling about nested columns but I can't seem to find any example in compass. I've also tried the wiki and the documentation to no avail.
