  • How can I allow only privledged users to download a pdf with php?

    Lets say I have some pdf files stored on my server and I only want to allow a person who's paid have access to download a particular pdf. So for an example, let's say I have a bunch of e-books. The only way a user would be able to download e-book A is if his account contains the right credentials for that particular book. What's the best way to accomplish this? Any ideas/advice on how to improve my idea are greatly appreciated! My current idea: A user places an order Upon success, a new folder would be created by their /account_num/order_id/ A copy of the particular file would be stored in this directory Have php generate an .htaccess that would only allow access from a url that contains a random hash embedded into it. The only way a user would be able to access this random hashed page is if they are signed in as the right user, and the hash matches up with the hash stored in the database, otherwise they are redirected to home page.

    Hello all, Does file_get_contents maintain line breaks? I thought it did but I have tried this: if($conn){ $tsql = file_get_contents('scripts/CreateTables/SLR05_MATCH_CREATETABLES.sql'); $row = sqlsrv_query($conn, $tsql); print_r(sqlsrv_errors()); } The errors I get is that SQL Server complains that there is incorrect syntax. I get the same errors when I run the SQL Script without any line breaks, which suggests file_get_contents removes them? When I run the script normally (open the file in SQL Server Management Studio) and execute it, it works perfectly. So is there something that I can use that maintains line breaks etc? Or is there another problem here in using queries from a file with the SQL Server PHP Driver from Microsoft? Thanks all for any help

  • C#, Fastest (Best?) Method of Identifying Duplicate Files in an Array of Directories

    I want to recurse several directories and find duplicate files between the n number of directories. My knee-jerk idea at this is to have a global hashtable or some other data structure to hold each file I find; then check each subsequent file to determine if it's in the "master" list of files. Obviously, I don't think this would be very efficient and the "there's got to be a better way!" keeps ringing in my brain. Any advice on a better way to handle this situation would be appreciated.

But on two peers' laptops (windows 7 64 bit and windows 8 64bit) they return file dlls not found or (in the case of the first one) file *.* not found Can someone shed some light here? The only difference I can see between the machines is possibly permissions. But I don't see how that would affect xcopy's ability to recognize a local path.

  • Stopping and Starting Apache Using PHP (!)

    Hello all, I have two problems which are related. 1) I have a batch file that contains this: net stop wampapache net start wampapache Which tries to stop and start my wamp server. When I double click the stop.bat file with the above it works successfully. When I try to run that from my PHP script, it stops the server but doesn't start it fully which I am guessing is because Apache is waiting for that PHP process to exit? function php_kill(){ exec('stop.bat', $output = array(), $return); return $return; } 2) Is there a way to restart my webserver (apache) whilst keeping session variables that PHP needs available?     I'm trying to use this tutorial to make plots with Gnuplot in C++. However I will be using the pipe to Gnuplot from within a class, but then I run into some problems: I've got a header file where I declare all variables etc. I need to declare the pipe-variable here too, but how do I do that?   • How can I efficiently retrieve a large number of database settings as PHP variables?

    Currently all of my script's settings are located in a PHP file which I 'include'. I'm in the process of moving these settings (about 100) to a database table called 'settings'. However I'm struggling to find an efficient way of retrieving all of them into the file. The settings table has 3 columns: ID (autoincrements) name value Two example rows might be: 1 admin_user john 2 admin_email_address [email protected] The only way I can think of retrieving each setting is like this: $result = mysql_query("SELECT value FROM settings WHERE name = 'admin_user'"); $row = mysql_fetch_array($result); $admin_user = $row['value']; $result = mysql_query("SELECT value FROM settings WHERE name = 'admin_email_address'"); $row = mysql_fetch_array($result); $admin_email_address = $row['value']; etc etc Doing it this way will take up a lot of code and will likely be slow. Is there a better way? Thanks.

  • iOS Downloading Videos and saving in Application Support folder

    In my application, i've to download videos around 10 to my application and play accordingly. Each video is around 50 MB. I'm using following code and then after downloading the video, i'm saving it to Application support folder to avoid icloud sync. But the problem is that when downloading the videos its crashing. [NSURLConnection sendAsynchronousRequest:req queue:[[NSOperationQueue alloc] init] completionHandler:^(NSURLResponse *response, NSData *rcvdDat, NSError * err) { . . . } What I'm thinking is that, while downloading the video, it resides in memory and so the total memory occupying by the app is increasing. Finally iOS is making the app to close. I would like to download the video and when ever a stream of data received, write to temp file and when completes move it to application support folder. Can some one help me on how to write it to file and save it at the end? I cannot use 3rd party libraries (unless its small) due to legal issues.

Heading1 Heading2 Heading3 ABCDE 123 987641213 xxx street yyyy For each value in 'Heading1', I get 3 rows for address from a particular table. In the output csv file, I need to display the address in a single cell with data separated by a new line. I tried using a cursor and appending data using chr(10), chr(12), chr(15) but in vain.     Hello everyone, I am interested in finding the most reliable method for uploading files in PHP. I need a progress bar with the upload. I have tried SWFUpload but it randomly issues an I/O Error. Even if the same file is uploaded sometimes there is an error and sometimes there is not. I have configured all the necessary INI/Mysql/Apache directives to accept large file uploads. So, I am looking for alternatives as a Flash based solution has not worked. Would Java be more relirable? I have also looked into PHP with APC. I definitely cannot afford these random errors, so any help on reliable software / suggestions on how to minimize them would be appreciated. Thank you.

  • Is it possible to import specific class from project propreties

    I have 2 projects. First project need to include second. When I copy sources from second project to first I need to modify manually import path to R.java file. The problem is that I need to use SVN external link connection between this 2 projects, that is mean, one project (the bigger one) will take sources from another through svn and should be able to use it without any modifications. If I would be able to specify R.java file path anywhere in project properties it will resolve my problem by changing manually that path. Need to specify that package name of these 2 projects are different. Another solution to resolve this problem also would be accepted. Thank you.

    Are there any FTP programs which can automatically copy (or rather 'move') the contents of a folder to a remote server? I have of course googled this but only really found one or two ancient products which look really clunky and unmaintained. I was wondering if there's a way to do this from the command line or any better solution to the base problem. In more detail, new files get written to a folder every few hours. These new files need to be FTP'd elsewhere and then deleted. Mirroring or synchonisation systems are probably out of the picture as we need to delete the source files once they've been successfully transferred. If it's easier, the 'solution' could pull the files off the server (rather than the server pushing them to the client). The computers will both be Windows OS.

I have tried textread,fscanf and a few other matlab commands but the result is that they all read each row in decimal format and create a 840946*1 array.I want to create a 840946*125 array to compute a column wise sum.   • Detecting metadata-only read requests in windows filesystem

    Hello, I'm developing a kind of filesystem driver. All of read requests that windows makes to my filesystem goes by the driver implementation. I would like to distinguish between "normal" read requests and those who want to get only the metadata from the file. ( Windows reads first 4K of the file and then stop reading ). Does Windows mark this metadata reads in some way? It would be very useful in order to treat that two kind of operations in a different way. In a typical CreateFile call, we have AccessMode, ShareMode, CreationDisposition and FlagsAndAttributes parameters ( being DWORD ), i'm not sure if it's possible to extract some clue of the operation requested.     I'm looking for a way to easily read in a C# file and place it into a Java Object for database storage (storing the class name, functions, variables, etc). I'm making a Hierarchical State Machine AI Building Tool for a game I'm creating and need to be able to import an existing C# file and store it in a database for retrieval in the future. Does anyone know of any preexisting libraries for parsing C# files? Something similar to JavaParser? Thanks everyone! EDIT: This needs to be part of my Java Project.     Hi I am sorry if this question has been asked before but I am looking for some sort of download authentication. In other words if I am going to give the user a link to a file, I want to make sure only that person will get it, and get it only once! Is there a simple solution without setting up the whole database. Even better if it's possible to have an ecrypted web link that will let you download a file from my FTP server just once, after that the link becomes invalid. Thanks.

  • My webpage ignores changes in CSS file

    No matter what I change in my .css file, the page remains the same - what's more, neither changing the link tag so that it points to another .css file nor deleting it completely makes no difference. Other changes in html code are applied. The sourcecode of the webpage shows everything as it should be. This behavior started when I redirected the link tag from previous file to the one I use now (plus there have been some changes in the tag while this problem occured, to test the behavior of my webpage); changes in neither file affect the page. For the first time when this happened, this was caused by copies of head tag in included chunks of code (for header, left menu etc. - their head part overrode the head part of the main page) and the problem was solved by removing these redundant heads from these files. But it happened again when I changed the link tag for the next time. I couldn't find any head parts in my included files, but the problem lasts (only solution I can see now is to delete the included files and copy the code directly to the file, but this would mean lots of redundant code). How can I solve this problem, so that my page response to changes in .css files without increasing redundancy? How to ensure that I can change the link to .css file just on one place with no such problems? Do I have to unload the CSS file somehow? I saw this problem both in Firefox and in Chrome. I use PSPad to write the code, just in case it would play role. EDIT: I have cleared browser cache now, and I changed the link to .css files from one to another before, but nothing helped. Now I accept the best answer saying the problem is in caching and I start a related question to find out how to solve the caching issue. If the other question's answers would say that in this case I can be sure that problem isn't in caching (very unlikely, but fail of ordinary methods of caching-problems-solving is unlikely too), I'd update this question and start searching for other possible problems, but now the message seems to be clear: when webpage ignores changes in .css files, caching is to blame.

Here comes the question : How to copy the "native/" directory (and its sub-directories) in first module to WEB-INF/native directory in the second module ?     I want to write a Python script that searches all folders in the current directory, looks for all .txt files, and creates a file that is a concatenation of all those files (in any order) in the current directory. If folders have subfolders, it should not search those subfolders. An example is main_folder folder_1 sub_folder file1.txt file2.txt folder_2 file3.txt The script is placed inside main_folder. It should create a file that is a concatenation of file2.txt and file3.txt (in any order) inside main_folder. My question is: How can I tell Python to traverse through the folders, look for .txt files, without going into the subfolders?
