• Development Environment for Testing MySQL Replication

  Is there an easy way to setup an environment on one machine (or a VM) with MySQL replication? I would like to put together a proof of concept of MySQL replication with one Master write instance and two slave instances for reads. I can see doing it across 2 or 3 VMs running on my computer, but that would really bog down my system. I'd rather have everything running on the same VM. What's the best way to proof out scalability solutions like this in a local dev environment? Thanks for your help, Dave

• Tootip steals mouse click

  I'm writing a custom TreeView from ScrollableControl. I decided to show tooltips when mouse is hover nodes with text too long to display. I find out when tooltips are shown, user would not be able to click the node to select it, because (I think) he's clicking the tooltip window, not my control. Is there any easy solutions? As I can see System.Windows.Forms.TreeView don't have this problem. Thanks!

Specifically, it first chains absolute value and subtraction together, then tacks on a sort, all the while not having to mention parameters and arguments at all, because of the presense of "adverbs" that can join these functions "verbs" What (non-APL-type) languages support this kind of no-arguments function composition (I have the vague idea it ties in strongly to the concepts of monad/dyad and rank, but its hard to get a particularly easy-to-understand picture just from reading Wikipedia) and what do I call this concept?

• Does Ruby Version Manager interfere with the system scripts on Dream Linux?

  Since Dream Linux has built in support for Ruby, I'm assuming it will work well as a Rails development environment, but I'm wondering if Ruby Version Manager will interfere with the system version of Ruby. Generally, when I use RVM, I disable/ignore the system version. How will the Dream Linux OS system scripts that are written in Ruby react to the presence of RVM? If I can't use RVM on Dream Linux, how easy is it to upgrade to newer versions of Ruby, without frazzling the system?

At first this seemed easy, as it would be just a setting in our maven configuration (we're using flex mojos to build our swf). However; changing the sourceFile from Main.mxml to MyWidget.mxml doesn't seem to do it. Any thoughts?

I log the results to a text file on the server, but I would like to strip out any line breaks a user would put in the textarea, as well as any commas that would interfere with importing the comma-delimited log text file into Excel or something for later use. SELECT TOP(5) BOTTOM(5) Of course 'bottom' does not exist so i need other solution. I believe there is an easy and elegant solution that i'm not getting.   I have a MainMenu in my app and I would like to have little icons relevant to the Item in each menu. But the MainMenu control does not support this. I would use the MenuStrip control, though that is a pretty ugly option in my opinion. Does anybody have any suggestions?
