• Exporting MS SQL Schema and Data

  I'm used to MySQL and PHPMyAdmin - I had to switch over to MSSQL for an ASP.net project, and I'm having tons of trouble. I'm using the express version of SQL 2008, with SQL Server Management Studio. The following are 2 questions I've been struggling with for a while: 1) How do I export the DB schema for the database? The table structure, etc.? 2) How do I export all the data in the database? Ideally I'd like to have a .sql file that can be run wherever I need the schema or data duplicated, for example a co-worker's computer for a shared project, or online when the project is being hosted.   I have a ListView in WPF, and I want to hide the headers for the ListView when the List the ItemsSource is bound to is null, and display the headers when the ItemsSource is not null and has at least 1 item in the collection. • Upload Image to Facebook Objective-C

  I'm currently trying to upload an image from my Mac application to Facebook. To do this, I'd like for the user to simply input his username and password, and to click a button. The only issue is, Facebook doesn't actually have an API for the Mac, it only has one for iOS. This shouldn't be a problem, except for the fact that to login, you must use a web view, something I'm not to keen on doing, since I'd like the interface to be two simple text fields. I've also looked into PHFacebook, a class I found online, but it also seems to utilize an NSWebView. I'm wondering if there's a security issue when you use text fields; indeed, it's slightly strange no available API offers this function ! So, to conclude, is it possible, or is there an API, that lets you upload an image and lets you provide the user's credentials through simple NSStrings?

• Clickonce + .net client profile 4 framework + offline

  Hi, I have a windows form project using VS2010 and I am deploying using clickonce. I need the application to work offline as well as online. I have configured the prerequisite - .net client profile 4 and set the location to the same as the application. Everything seems to work as expected, but upon testing I have found it takes 5+ minutes to install the .net client profile 4 and it also requires a reboot. Why does it take so long to install offline (I thought this was going to be mega fast like promised? And why does it require a reboot!!!!????

• Overlapping divs, absolutely relative?

  A wordpress theme I'm working on has headlines which span across the entire content area. These headlines are overlapped by the sidebar which is absolutely positioned at 100% width. The issue, is when the sidebar's content exceeds the page's content, it stretches OUT of my wrapper overtop of the footer without forcing the it down (because it's absolute and nothing else is). So my question is, how would it be possible to make a absolutely positioned div, become relative and essentially "push" my footer down, or is there a better way to do this? Also, if anyone has examples of how this has been done would be awesome! edit: The sidebar is absolutely positioned so it can lay over top of the sidebar.   I have just started learning programming and I would like to make a script into a chrome extension. Its a basic script and I hope to practice more and more and develop bigger projects and set myself bigger tasks This script has to do the following : reload a page every 20 seconds (say google.com) after 6 months the script must not run (maybe prompt a window saying "its over 6 months") The code should be able to go into a small chrome extension and also the 6 month time period should be absolute not relative to the time the script was started; for example should the browser crash and i have to turn on the extension again it should not restart the 6 month counter. Also if anyone could recommend any good sources for JavaScript to learn (preferably books; nothingIi read online ever seems to stick)

• Get a return value from a screen'd command

  I'm running a process in a screen (on Ubuntu 13.10, if it matters). I can execute a command within that screen with: screen -p 0 -X eval 'stuff \"$command\"\015' I'm not 100% sure what this command is doing to begin with, though it's functioning correctly. The reason behind it is I'm running a Minecraft server (still) and this screens in to the correct screen, and throws the command on the running command line. So that's good, so far. But what I'd like is to be able to run this command with a return value. So for example, if I were to run a "list" command, it'd tell me how many people and who is online, but I need to capture that output and put it somewhere. Anyone know of a way to accomplish this? I can't tell the minecraft server command line to redirect the output somewhere else since it doesn't have direct command line access, so the only way I could do this would be to grab all output of the screen while I'm connected ... but I'm not sure if that's possible.

• Android: how to start a service at boot based on user-settings?

  Hey everyone, I'm trying to write an app that consists of an activity that manages a background service. However, I want to implement a user setting for automatically starting the service up at boot time. I have user settings implemented with SharedPreferences and I have the services starting up at boot by using a BroadcastReceiver and listening for BOOT_COMPLETED. However, I can't figure out a good way to implement a setting so that the service is only started at boot if said setting is enabled. I can think of a few cheap ways to do this (such as messing with onCreate() in the service, or creating/checking for a file on SD card) but I want to follow good practice. There must be a good way to do this because there's tons of apps out there that do it, I just can't find anything online about how to do it. Thanks

  I have spent the last 3 hours google and bing for a good asm tutorial(x86 variety). I have been on this site for many of these results. Non have really been sufficient. Mainly because while i like learning theory, i learn it best via practice, while for example pc-asm has about 20-30 pages of theroy before anything practical.   In my Java program, I need to create an instance of the current moment in time. I use Date date = new Date(); This gives me the current date and time as per the host machine's system clock. Is there any way I can get the current date and time from an online server? The world time server perhaps? I have seen this post and it describes what I want but I'm afraid I need more help than what's provided there. In a nutshell, I want to get a date and time that is not dependant on the host machine's system clock. Thanks!

My question is (1) Are there any existing open source python package or modules or application which implements this functionality that I can use or study from?   I have several client databases that use my windows application. I want to send this data for online web site. The client databases and server database structure is different because we need to add client ID column to some tables in server data base. I use this way to sync databases; use another application and use C# bulk copy with transaction to sync databases. My server database sql server is too busy and parallel task cannot be run. I work on this solution: I use triggers after update, delete, insert to save changes in one table and create sql query to send a web service to sync data. But I must send all data first! Huge data set (bigger than 16mg) I think can't use replication because the structure and primary keys are different.

• receive xml file as a parameter to a .net web service

  My company is currently looking into bringing a new piece of third party software in for online ordering. The software does not handle pricing so they are requesting the pricing information from a web service. Their software is passing an XML file as a parameter, and expecting an XML file as a response. I would think that returning an XML file would be pretty straight forward, but I cannot think of a way to receive an XML file as a parameter. Has anyone done this, or am I missing something really obvious?

• Creating a file/folder structure and zipping it up?

  I have a directory of image files and I need a php script or shell script that will rename them, create a structure of nested directories, and then insert each image into a specified place in the directory hierarchy. Ideally I would just specify a parent directory for each file and a parent directory for each directory and it would build it. And then finally, I need the script to zip up the whole thing. There's probably not an existing php class that will do all this for me, but if anyone knows of a php class or other script available online that would handle a lot of this logic that would be great.

• Reading in MIPS external file so another file can use it?

  Hey all, I'm working on this final thing for my MIPS project and it's deceptively easy. I need to get a procedure (called feed) and let its main driver program use it by reading it in. I know that I'm supposed to use the call code 14 and .globl sym (I think) in order to feed it into the file and have it read it. I just need a basic tutorial or something, as I CANNOT find it on the Internet or in my book (just lists the call code, real helpful). Here's what I know: I need to use read, but I also need a file descriptor (don't know where to get it). I need to put the buffer in $a1 and the length in $a2. Well, that's about it. If there's any decent tutorial you could whip up or if there is one online that I don't see let me know please :). I just need a push in the right direction, I'm sure it can't be too difficult, just can't find any info on it!

  Hi everyone I am new to mongo, this is my db design: product := { name: str group: ref, comments: [ ref, ref, ref, ref ] } comments := { ... a bunch of comments stuff } tag := { _id: int, #Need this for online requests tag: str, products: [ {product: ref, score: float}, ... ], comments: [ {comment: ref, score: float}, ...], } So my usage pattern is: GIVEN a product, find comments that have certain tag and sort them accordingly. My current approach involves: Look for that tag object that has tag=myTag pull all the comments out, sorted look for that product where product.name=myProduct pull all the comments out (which are dbrefs by the way) loop through the result of 2, and checking if they are in 4, (this I can do a limit 10) etc. It's pretty inefficient. Any better methods?

  I have a textarea that I want to enable vertical scrolling. When I exceed the height of the textarea, it increases in size. The scroll bar does not appear. I want that a vertical scroll bar appears and the users are not able to resize the text area as well. I searched online and tried solutions posted, but none seem to work. • Is "programmatically" a word? [closed]

  I can't find it on any of the online dictionaries I know: dict.org, word reference, urban dictionary, oxford paravia, garzanti. To my ears of a non-native speaker, it sounds horrible. Actually it sounds like a word made-up by another non-native speaker that wanted to say something, didn't know how, and just hacked in a word of his language. The only place I've read it other then user-created-content is the android documentation, so this might or might not be related. Do you happen to know where did it start to be used, why by did it spread so much, what does it really mean?

• Save Values AUTOMATICALLY with NSUserDefaults

  I have an app with two UITextFields, where the user enters an integer, and then a method is called with the values the user enters. But when I completely close the app, the values are deleted. I want to change it to save the value the user entered when it closes, and loads it up when the app is re-opened. I tried this with NSUserDefault, and it worked fine (with save and load button), but I want it to make it automatically, without pressing any buttons. I saw some other people do it with the basic methods in the AppDelegate.m, but I don't know anything about that, therefore I didn't understand it at all. I saw MANY tutorials online, but I didn't understand any of them, please help, and give a detailed answer, thanks :)

• Mobile web apps - Is this the right approach?

  I need to build a cross platform mobile app (iphone, android, etc). The app is for a company like a cellular operator (Tmobile, ATT). The app needs to do the following: Show previous bills (cached so that it does not have to download everytime) Need an internet connection to download newer bills, view recent data, etc. Can I build a mobile web app to handle this? I understand that there is offline storage and iPhone has good support for web apps (full screen, good icons, offline, etc). Will a web app be the best approach to take as the app requires to be online? The app will not be used by lots of people, just customers of the website who don't want to use an existing website. We are all web developers and a mobile web app looks like the best way to approach this.

• Possible conflict with jquery libraries

  http://www.pro-marketing-invest.de/golz-racing/reservierungen I made a wp plugin which makes online reservations for rent a car but I tested it locally with a different wp theme and it worked fine! but when I installed it in this web site for some reason the jquery functions dont work! when I press the fortsetzen button it wont open the other step (its a form with 4 steps). I think it is because of the other jquery functions or libraries that the theme uses, I am frustrated I dont know what is causing this! Any ideas?

My C++ library is compiled as Multi Threaded DLL with MultiByte encoding. Any help would be appreciated. I saw this is a common problem online but no answers lead me to a solution for my problem.

• VS2010 (older) installer project - two or more objects have the same target location.

  This installer project was created back in 2004 and upgraded ever since. There are two offending dll files, which produce a total of 4 errors. I have searched online for this warning message and did not find a permanent fix (I did manage to make it go away once until I have done something like a clean, or built in Release, and then in Debug). I also tried cleaning, and then refreshing the dependencies. The duplicated entries are still in there. I also did not find a good explanation for what this error means. Additional warnings are of this nature: Warning 36 The version of the .NET Framework launch condition '.NET Framework 4' does not match the selected .NET Framework bootstrapper package. Update the .NET Framework launch condition to match the version of the .NET Framework selected in the Prerequisites Dialog Box. So, where is this prerequisites box? I want to make both things agree on .Net 4.0, just having a hard time locating both of them.

• Basic iphone timer example

  Okay, I have searched online and even looked in a couple of books for the answer because I can't understand the apple documentation for the NSTimer. I am trying to implement 2 timers on the same view that each have 3 buttons (START - STOP - RESET). The first timer counts down from 2 minutes and then beeps. The second timer counts up from 00:00 indefinitely. I am assuming that all of the code will be written in the methods behind the 3 different buttons but I am completely lost trying to read the apple documentation. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  What I'm looking for is something like materialized views in front-end that shows my data in diffident ways without full recalculation. let's say I have stock watcher with many front-end views and dashborads some based on aggregation, order by or just filter with different criteria defined realtime by user. Now, I receive online record updates from some webservice and it's not like "data warehouse" every single record can be updated any time and it actually happens every second. Is there any technology can help me in such I create something like materialized view and it's update it without doing full recalculation every time data changed. Thank you.
