• Redirect with .htacess - URL with regex to URL

  I have a temporary need to redirect some installer files on my web site. The redirects that are working now look something like this: Redirect 301 /installer_1.0.0.zip http://www.example.com/download/installer_1.0.3.zip Redirect 301 /installer_1.0.1.zip http://www.example.com/download/installer_1.0.3.zip Redirect 301 /installer_1.0.2.zip http://www.example.com/download/installer_1.0.3.zip I would like to use a regex instead of having multiple lines for each version I need to redirect. I have tried these options with no success: Redirect 301 /installer_(.*).zip http://www.example.com/download/installer_1.0.3.zip Redirect 301 /installer_([0-9+]\.[0-9+]\.[0-9+]).zip http://www.example.com/download/installer_1.0.3.zip Should these work or am I doing something wrong? • Proxmox - Uploading disk image

  I've got a KVM Virtual Machine in my local PC, and I'd like to copy it to a Proxmox server. According to the docs, I just have to create a new VM on Proxmox and add the existing disk image to it, but how do I upload the image to the server? In the admin panel, if I click in MyStorage - Content - Upload, it just give me options to upload ISOs, VZDump backup files or OpenVZ templates. Would it be enough with a copy using scp? In that case, in which folder?

  I want to put some of my own technical writing on the web: tutorials, how-to's, conceptual articles about programming etc. I write mostly for myself yet, but think others can benefit from it so I want to put it online, and I also have plans of making everything more coherent and turning it into a book. My articles are not meant as a blog, they're just meant as a collection of tutorials and how-to's, but I think a blog-type software would probably be the most appropriate mode of formatting that kind of stuff. Right now I am using the blog feature of cite u like, which is very low tech and I really need something better. On my wish list is, among other things: code snippets in scrollable boxes syntax highlighting for source code snippets tagging articles with graphical icons according to topic, like in slashdot of course users (i.e. readers) should be able to comment on articles Also, just more options than a super-simple blog should look slick! should not look wikipedia-like Is there any software you can recommend for this purpose?

• BSOD on windows 7 with SSD during boot after improper shutdown

  I have a BSOD on windows 7 with SSD during boot after improper shutdown (while windows animation logo is moving). The computer restart imediatly after BSOD, and windows proposes to launch startup repair (if i do it, it takes +-5min and fixes the problem : computer starts normally). However, after any new improper shutdown, i got the same problem. Remarks: If i unplug, re-plug the SSD whyle system is shutdown, i have the same problem. If i reproduce the situation with old HDD, i havn't the problem Previously, i had a different problem: BSOD when waking up after sleep, which was fixed by installing drivers (ethernet, usb, graphic card) I have made ram chech and ssd check and found no problems Starting with safe mode after improper shutdown causes a BSOD at loading of classpnp.sys Configuration: System: HP compaq 8510p SSD: OCZ vertex-2 2.5 Boot options: SATA native mode - Enable, HDD transalation mode - LBA-assisted

• Socket.io v.9 with Actionscript

  I'm attempting to develop an online multiplayer game using Node.js for the server and Flash to display the client. I've been reading up a bit and have found quite a few recommendations for the socket.io library. I've also found a github project which exposes code to help facilitate communication between an Actionscript 3.0 client and a server using socket.io. The project I mentioned is a bit dated and doesn't seem to have support for the latest version of socket.io, so I was wondering if leveraging this framework (socket.io, that is) would be the most ideal way to go. I have found a simple project that uses the standard 'net' module for node.js, but because there a few options available, I'm a little lost as to which one to go with. I'm currently leaning towards just using the regular 'net' module as it is already familiar to me. Since much of the client is already coded up, I'd really like to not switch over to using the HTML5 canvas just yet (but using socket.io would make a transition in the future more friendly, I think?). Any advice/direction on this matter would be much appreciated, though I do realize that there may be no one right answer. Edit: To be more specific, are there any client-side socket.io frameworks available that allow for communication between an Actionscript 3.0 client and a socket.io server and are robust enough to support current/future versions of socket.io? If not, what are the alternatives?

  I recently installed Ubuntu 12.04 onto my HP Pavilion, in an attempt to make the desktop able to dual-boot Windows 7 and Ubuntu. I managed to get down to the last step, and finished the installation process. After it prompted me to remove what I used to install Ubuntu, I did so, removing my SanDisk 8GB flash drive, and allowed the system to reboot. Like usual, the desktop booted with the HP image, with the options at the bottom(Boot Menu, System Recovery, etc). However, when it should have started up with Ubuntu(like I'm certain it should have done), I received the following error: Input signal out of range Change settings to 1600 x 900 From the time I installed the operating system, back in late August, till now, I've been trying to figure out how I would go about fixing this issue. My mom is also starting to get frustrated with my not having resolved the issue, as its the only desktop that has a printer installed. Is there any possible way to resolve this? To summarize the problem: -Successful boot -Screen brings up error -Screen goes to standby -Nothing else possible until desktop is rebooted, which will initiate the above three steps A few notes: -I did not back up my computer before I installed Ubuntu. I didn't have anything to write to, and basically just forgot to. : -I don't have a Recovery Disk. -I don't have the Windows 7 disk that is supposed to come with the computer. -It has been narrowed down by a friend on Skype that the problem lies with the display, and that the vga= boot command does have something to do with fixing the problem Thank you in advance for resolving this problem. • How to install Wacom Bamboo Pen

  I have a new Wacom Bamboo Pen. I'm using Ubuntu 10.10 64bit. After googling a little bit, I checked that xserver-xorg-input-wacom was installed. I plugged in my tablet. I rebooted my computer. Nothing special happened. I opened Inkscape. The tablet didn't work. I opened Inkscape's Input devices dialog. I didn't understand anything. I tried to blindly click some options in that dialog but nothing seemed to have any effect. Same with Gimp. After googling some more I found the linuxwacom website with source code, this didn't seem to work. So... any help? • What does this WinImage Error Mean?

  Hi, I am using WinImage (version 8.0) on Windows XP SP3 to create a VHD File from my Hard Drive, however, everytime I try to, everytime it says: "I/O error in reading data on position 000000007cd40000:00010000. Error 23: Data Error (cyclic redundancy check)." with the options "Abort", "Retry", "Skip" & "Skip All". Everytime I try "Retry" the message comes, if I click skip another message comes up (same as above, except the data position). I have run "CHKDSK /F /R" several times, but the error always appears. What is wrong? Can I safely skip the Errors? Is there anything I can do to fix the error?

• Self-referencing anonymous closures: is JavaScript incomplete?

  Does the fact that anonymous self-referencing function closures are so prevelant in JavaScript suggest that JavaScript is an incomplete specification? We see so much of this: (function () { /* do cool stuff */ })(); and I suppose everything is a matter of taste, but does this not look like a kludge, when all you want is a private namespace? Couldn't JavaScript implement packages and proper classes?   I signed up for github and notice the ssh key option which looked interesting. I originally expected something like an ssl key (name, co name, etc). After going through it i notice i only put a password and it is always myuser@comp-name (this is windows). Why? I thought it was a user/pass id and i can create separate keys for separate purpose for privacy reasons. Now i see i am required to use one to create a repository. Also i see something about a 'private key file' when looking at options. What exactly is an SSH Key and how can i create a separate user without creating a separate login in windows.

  I always have a pause at boot saying my filesystems are being checked (with a "press C to cancel" note, too). Actually (seeing boot.log) I think it's the / fs, which is located at /dev/sdb5 Several questions altoghether, here (hope this does not break any rule): Is this normal? Can I (or even should I) prevent this anyhow? According to boot.log (below) the fs does not seem to be 'clean', or, at least, it's in an state or condition that makes fsck always can it for errors for a while (just a few seconds). How can I fix it? • How to stop scheduled chkdisk on windows 7?

  Hi! I have a problem with windows 7 64-bit. I was trying out chkdsk command line options and scheduled a chddsk /r on next start. After that I disassembled the laptop on which I set the chkdsk. After I reassembled it, windows gets normally to the point where it should start the check and then hangs when the countdown reaches 1 second. During the countdown, it doesn't detect any input from keyboard. At first I thought that I didn't correctly install the keyboard, but under GNU/Linux, everything is working fine and I can normally mount the windows partition . So is there any way to stop the scheduled chkdsk? I really don't feel like reinstalling windows again because I just finished setting up my tool-chain the way I like it and compiled about 6GiB worth of dependencies I need for some project I'm working on.

• Running remotely an app from a shared folder with PsExec

  I am actually not sure that this is possible. let's see: I have a script that runs on a Build server. Let's name this server A. It drops the bins to a shared folder on server B. And I want to run the program on server C. So using caspol I can allow the executable to be ran remotely. that means from B I can run \C\shared\my.exe What I want to do is from A run \C\shared\my.exe on B. SysInternals\PsExec.exe -u username -p password -accepteula \\ServerC -i 0 -d -w \\ServerB\Nightly\Server \\ServerB\Nightly\Server\server.exe The user has all the necessary rights. But, the -w (working directory) options apparently wants a path relative to the server I point to. Any idea?

• Compiling zip component for PHP 5.2.11 in MAMP PRO

  I installed MAMP PRO on my Macbook Pro (10.6) some time ago. Now I would like to use zip functions in php. I found that I must add zip.so to my extension folder and edited php.ini. On my computer I have two different versions of PHP one in MAMP folder and other in user/lib which was pre-installed on my system. Now I wish to compile my zip library for MAMP version. I got zip sources for my version of PHP then in terminal called function /Applications/MAMP/bin/php5/bin/phpize so it uses mamp php version ./configure make then I moved compile zip.so to extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20060613. When MAMP is launched it returns this error [11-Apr-2010 16:33:27] PHP Warning: PHP Startup: zip: Unable to initialize module Module compiled with module API=20090626, debug=0, thread-safety=0 PHP compiled with module API=20060613, debug=0, thread-safety=0 These options need to match in Unknown on line 0 Can somebody explain to me how to do this the right way.

• Split a 2D scene in layers or have a z coordinate

  I am in the process of writing a 2D game engine, and a dilemma emerged. Let me explain the situation... I have a Scene class, to which various objects can be added (Drawable, ParticleEmitter, Light2D, etc), and as this is a 2D scene, things will obviously be drawn over each other. My first thought was that I could have basic add and remove methods, but I soon realized that then there would be no way for the programmer to control the order in which things were drawn. So I can up with two options, each with its pros and cons. A) Would be to split the scene in layers. By that I mean instead of having the scene be a container of objects, have it be a container of layers, which are in turn the containers of objects. B) Would require to have some kind of z-coordinate, and then have the scene sorted so objects with lower z get drawn first. Option A is pretty solid, but the problem is with the lights. In what layer do I add it? Does it work cross-layer? On all bottom layers? And I still need the Z coordinate to calculate the shadow! Option B would require me to change all my code from having Vector2D positions, to some kind of class that inherits from Vector2D and adds a z coordinate to it (I don't want it to be a Vector3D because I still need all the same methods the 2D kind has, just with .z clamped on). Am I missing something? Is there an alternative to these methods? I'm working in Javascript, if that makes a difference.

Next, Open iChat, then select iChat » Preferences and click on the Accounts tab. Click on the + (plus) sign to add a new account, with these settings: * Account Type is Jabber Account * Account name is [email protected], and enter your password * Click the drop-down arrow to reveal Server options. Enter chat.facebook.com as the server name. * Enter 5222 as the port and click Done. Click Done again, and you are good to go. From reading this, it seems that it might be possible to telnet into facebook chat. I tried, but wasn't able to. Is it possible? How?

  My ISP's SSH server (Debian 2.0) logs me out after 35 minutes of inactivity, when connected with PuTTY (Windows XP). This is a big problem when I utilize the server for port-forwarding. The final messages displayed in the terminal: This terminal has been idle 30 minutes. If it remains idle for 5 more minutes it will be logged out by the system. Logged out by the system. PuTTY options that do not help: Sending of null packets to keep session active. Seconds between keepalives (0 to turn off): 30 [x] Enable TCP keepalives (SO_KEEPALIVE option) Any idea how to avoid the auto-log-out? Should I try another SSH client?

• Canon MG6100 series USB Printer not mounting

  Printer MP6150 driver installed itself upon plugging in the printer. Printer is recognized (lsusb shows it) but does not mount. If the printer is recognized, the driver must be working (or?), but something is blocking the system from mounting the printer. • Cannot boot into ubuntu 12.10

  Below given are the steps which I followed to install ubuntu 12.10 with existing windows 8 in my machine. I downloaded ubuntu 12.10 into my disk and made it bootable from my usb by selecting that iso file. Then restared my mahine and in BIOS I selected boot from usb. Went into Linux os and selected install ubuntu alongside windows 8. It asked for memory allocation and I selected 550 GB for Ubuntu and 404GB for Windows. After that it completed ubuntu installation. The booted into my windows 8 and used easyBCD to add a new entry. Ubuntu grup2 Now the easyBCD shows, There are a total of 4 entries listed in the bootloader. Default: Windows 8 Timeout: 10 seconds EasyBCD Boot Device: C:\ Entry #1 Name: Lenovo Recovery System BCD ID: {e58d0cb6-2eae-11e2-9d20-806e6f6e6963} Device: \Device\HarddiskVolume3 Bootloader Path: \EFI\Microsoft\Boot\LrsBootMgr.efi Entry #2 Name: EFI USB Device BCD ID: {e58d0cb5-2eae-11e2-9d20-806e6f6e6963} Device: Unknown Bootloader Path: Entry #3 Name: Windows 8 BCD ID: {current} Drive: C:\ Bootloader Path: \windows\system32\winload.efi Entry #4 Name: Ubuntu 12.10 BCD ID: {6f173570-3bce-11e2-be74-c0143dd589c0} Drive: C:\ Bootloader Path: \NST\AutoNeoGrub0.mbr Next I restarted my system and in the boot options it shows windows 8 and ubuntu 12.10 When I click on ubuntu it displays, \NST\AutoNeoGrub0.mbr status 0xc000007b The application or operating system cold not be loaded because a required file is missing or contains errors. • Ubuntu 12.04 suddenly will not boot after compiz crash on lockscreen

  Yesterday i went to work and closed my laptop. When i got home I couldn't get the lock screen to come back up. ctrl+alt+f2 to get to a terminal and Tried to kill compiz, compiz was not running so I tried to restart it got an error opening the display so i tried to restart lightdm again couldn't open display. so I restarted and now I am stuck on the loading screen. I tried booting in recovery mode and all options hang except root, but i'm stuck with read only. booting from a live cd I can mount the drive but again stuck with read only. I'm completely stuck here. checking my default-display-manager returns "/usr/sbin/elsa" as the only line and can't edit it. I've got an 11.10 live cd and my /home is encrypted so i can't try to back anything up at the moment either. How can i resolve this or at the least back up some of my data? Please help!
