  I have a view between other views, the order may vary. For example: viewA on top of viewB, on top of viewC, or in another order. Suppose I have viewA, viewB, viewC, viewD and viewE A is on the top and E on the bottom. I need to replace viewC with viewZ, but I need to insert viewZ in the same index of viewC. How do I know, before removing viewC, what index it has, so I can insert viewZ using [self.view insertSubview:viewZ atIndex:?????) and it will be at the same level? thanks for any help.

• How to style content in jQuery Facebox

  I'm using jQuery Facebox plugin to create some modal windows. One situation is to display errors that might occur. If JS is disabled, I do this by displaying any errors in a normal div that is styled by CSS using a class selector. If the user does have JS enabled however, that div is hidden and the info is displayed in a facebox. The problem I have is that all the CSS styling is lost when the data is displayed within a facebox window. I understand that you can attach extra classes if you're calling facebox from a rel attribute in an anchor tag, but I'm using it programatically. Is there a way I can bind something to the facebox method? • MKMapView not centered on pin

  Hi all, I have an mkmapview that i'm currently adding pins to, but for some reason when I call [mapView setRegion:[detailItem coordinateRegion] animated:YES]; the pin is off-centered (toward the right side of the screen) on the map. Here is the code for [deailItem coordinateRegion]: - (MKCoordinateRegion)coordinateRegion { MKCoordinateRegion region = { {0.0, 0.0 }, { 0.0, 0.0 } }; region.center = self.coordinate; region.span.longitudeDelta = 0.0075f; region.span.latitudeDelta = 0.0075f; return (region); } I'm setting the coordinateRegion's center to the object's x,y coordinate, so why is it off-center on the map?   I write custom jabber client in iphone. I use xmppframework as engine. And I have UITableViewController with NSMutableArray for repesent contact list. When i receive(or somebody change it contents) roster (aka contact list) i wanna change UITableView items (add/remove/modify). So if User work with listView at time when list updates by [items addObject:newItem]; [self.tableView reloadData]; user lost current selection item. So, my question is howto save (if possible, i mean if given selected item not removed) current select item after reloadData? Thx.

  Hey all, Let's take the case of a simple class: QScriptEngine engine; class MyClass { public: QScriptValue foo(QScriptContext*, QScriptEngine*); MyClass(); }; QScriptValue MyClass:foo(QScriptContext* context, QScriptEngine* eng) { //something } MyClass::MyClass() { QScriptValue self = engine.newFunction(this->foo, 0); .... } The above function gives me an error: no matching function for call to ‘QScriptEngine::newFunction(<unresolved overloaded function type>, int)’ I have tried using engine.newFunction(reinterpret_cast<FunctionSignature>(foo), 0); but this gives me an error which basically says that the compiler is not aware of a keyword called 'FunctionSignature'.   Hello. I have created new a view controller in my project (ActivateController). I have added it to the interface of the parent view controller (PrefsViewController): #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> #import "ActivateController.h" @interface PrefsViewController : UIViewController <UITextFieldDelegate> { ActivateController *activateController; } -(IBAction)pressedActivate; @property(nonatomic,retain) IBOutlet ActivateController *activateController; @end I have also added it to parent's controller nib (and changed it type to ActivateController), and connected it to IBOutlet ActivateController. But still, when I perform (on pressedActivate): [self.navigationController pushViewController:activateController animated:YES]; Nothing happens. I have done it successfully many times before. What might be wrong? P.S. pressedActivate is executed for sure (I used NSLog to check).

(send_to_foo is obviously not how I would implement this; it just makes clearer what I'm looking for.) I expected Foo.send(:bar) to work at first, but it makes sense that it doesn't. It would if the method were defined as def self.bar, but that's no fun.

  UITabBarController with UINavigationController "more" tab issue There is a problem with using UINavigationController in UITabBarController. I have a TabBar  with 6 items. Of course, a standart item "more" appears, and there are two UINavigationControllers that didn't fit in a TabBar. The core of the problem is: when I'm working with visible items (a first four), UIViewController can be pushed  in an UINavigationController: [self.navigationController pushViewController:userDataViewController animated:YES]; If you call on in "more" and rearrange items in such way, that a visible UINavigationController gets into "more", when calling on it userDataViewController appears.  This  userDataViewController is the last, which has got in a stack and a Back button leads back to "more", but not to the controllers, that were before a userDataViewController appeared. I understand that in fact a selector pushViewController is called from "more", and it pushes my UINavigationController in a stack, and it's not good. Maybe, someone has faced such problem and could help me to solve it? Thank you forward.

Is there a way to get the list delegates to 'pop out' of their cells?   I'm currently working on building a RESTful web api with ruby on rails. I haven't bothered putting a proper authentication scheme into the API yet as I'm ensuring that tests and the basic behavior of the API is working all locally first. Upon testing non-HTTP GET type requests such as HTTP POST/DELETE/PUT, stuff chokes because protect_from_forgery is on by default. How does this work when I'm working in practice since essentially the idea is in a RESTful API that there is no state. The client does not have a session or a cookie associated with the server. Each request is an atomic, self-executed request. The user will supply some credentials to ensure they are who they say they are, but other than that, does protect_from_forgery make sense at this point? Should it remain enabled?

• Why can't I set a custom color-tint for the UINavigationBar?

  I want to change the color on the navigation bar and the documentation states not to attempt to change the 'alpha' value. So, how can I set a color that is not the SDK defined values (e.g., [UIColor redColor], brownColor, etc.) if all the constructors provide an alpha value? I tried getting the current alpha value but that did not help. When I use a custom color, it causes the navigation bar to look like an x-ray (a scraggy, black-on-white).   I am using Ruby on Rails 3 and I am tryng to map a hash (key, value pairs) to an encapsulated Ruby class (tableless model) making the hash key as a class method that returns the value. In the model file I have class Users::Account #< ActiveRecord::Base def initialize(attributes = {}) @id = attributes[:id] @firstname = attributes[:firstname] @lastname = attributes[:lastname] end end def self.to_model(account) JSON.parse(account) end My hash is hash = {\"id\":2,\"firstname\":\"Name_test\",\"lastname\":\"Surname_test\"} I can make account = Users::Account.to_model(hash) that returns (debugging) --- id: 2 firstname: Name_test lastname: Surname_test That works, but if I do account.id I get this error NoMethodError in Users/accountsController#new undefined method `id' for #<Hash:0x00000104cda410> I think because <Hash:0x00000104cda410> is an hash (!) and not the class itself. Also I think that doing account = Users::Account.to_model(hash) is not the right approach. What is wrong? How can I "map" those hash keys to class methods?

  Hi, I have a web service which previously was deployed on http. I used to generate stub classes using wsimport using wsimport http://localhost:8080/MiniForumService/MiniForumService?wsdl. Now I deployed it on SSL. But when I try to generate the stub classes from it using wsimport https://localhost:8443/MiniForumService/MiniForumService?wsdl but I'm getting the following error: unable to find valid certification path to requested target I'm using a self-signed certificate on the server.   Are there any limitations with respect to developing ASP.NET and WPF apps using VS 2008/2010 and SQL Server 2008 on Windows 7 Home Premium? I know you can run IIS 7.5 on Home Premium. I Googled and Binged on Home Premium and VS/SQL Server and couldn't find much. It doesn't look like the features missing from Home Premium, domain joining, xp mode, etc... shouldn't prevent one from running and developing in VS/SQL Server. Update I did discover one limitation w/IIS 7.5 and it applies to all versions of Windows 7 I think. You can't create your own self signed SSL certificate specifying a name other than the machine name. You're stuck with your machine name which isn't that big a deal, but it is a change from previous versions.

  I have seen a similar line of code floating about in Apples code: (void)[[URLRequest alloc] initializeRequestWithValues:postBody url:verifySession httpHeader:nil delegate:self]; URLRequest is my own custom class. I didn't write this and I think the guy that did just grabbed it from Apple's example. To me this should leak and when I test it I'm pretty sure it leaks 16 bytes. Would it? I know how to fix it if it does but wasn't sure as it was taken from Apple's code.

These sites include: 1. Invision Power Board Forum (the most important site) 2. 3 custom made cms-s (changes to code allowable) 3. 1 drupal site 4. 3-4 wordpress blogs Requirements are as follows: 1. Connecting all users of all sites into a single administrable entity. With permissions changing ability, users banning etc. 2. Later on, based on this implementation I have to implement "facebook like" chat, which will be available to all users regardless of place of login. • Release another user's lock obtained with sp_getapplock on SQL Server

  We have a system that uses sp_getapplock to create an exclusive mutex any time someone opens an order in the GUI. This is used to prevent multiple people from making changes to an order simultaneously. Sometimes people will open an order and go home, leaving it open. This effectively blocks anyone from being able to make changes to the order. I then get emails, calls and end up doing a kill <spid> in enterprise manager. Obviously I've gotten sick of this and want to make a quick self-service webform. The main problem I've run into is that kill requires sysadmin privileges, which I do not want to give to the user that the our website runs as. I have tried sp_releaseapplock but this doesn't let you release another user's lock (even when calling it as a sysadmin). So, finally my question; does anyone know of an alternative method to release a lock that was obtained by another user using sp_getapplock?
