• Jetty - Virtualhosting - SSL Certificates

  Hi all, I want to have different SSL certificates for different domains that I am hosting in a single Jetty instance. I do not want to front my Jetty application server with Apache. I am running Jetty 6.1.22. So far, I have only seen configurations with a single SSL certificate, and the configuration for SSL happens within server which leads me to believe that Jetty was designed to support a single SSL certificate. Please let me know if I can use Jetty with more than 1 certificate. I am considering migrating to JBoss Application Server 6.0 since it is closer to a real application server. Is this something that can be done there, and is it a supported feature? Walter

• howto only tunnel specific hosts route through openvpn client on tomato

  I am relatively newbie in networking world although I did coding and know some sysadmin background for a long time. and here I'm only one step from my destination. The whole picture is : at home I use one LinkSys E3000 as the gateway(don't know yet if this is it's name), wireless AP and no other routing/switching devices. It serves 1 PC and 1 Mac with LAN, 1 Mac Mini + 1 iPad + 2 smartphones with WIFI. My goal is use an openvpn client on the E3000 (with tomato firmware) and make my iPad and smartphone's all WiFi traffic through it, and other devices route remain the same non-openvpn route. So far I'm able to connect openvpn client on E3000 to an openvpn server, tunnel all my devices' all traffic through that openvpn connection. What's left is howto selectively route by source IP (at least in my guessing) to the tunnel while don't bother others. I had learned some 'iptables' and 'route' in past few days however without much luck, so here comes my question. • Is there a Unix/Linux platform equivalent to Telligent Community?

  Telligent Community combines blogs, wikis, forums, and file-sharing capabilities into a single product with single sign-on, using all Microsoft technologies. Is there an equivalent offering that runs on Unix/Linux? Or would I have to pick and choose individual product offerings and figure out another option for single sign-on across them? Are there plug-ins for something like WordPress or MovableType that might add the necessary functionality? A friend of mine is looking to add a "members-only" area to her company's website, and since they're hosted on Dreamhost (and can't afford StackExchange pricing yet), I'm trying to find other options for them.

• Dichroic Glass in Blender

  I am trying to use blender to simulate the Lycurgus Cup. The cup is an example of dichroic (two-color) glass, and appears green when a light source is on the outside of the cup, and appears red when a light source is inside the cup. Here is an image of when light is outside and it appears green: Here is an image of when light is inside and it appears red: I have created a glass cup in blender. I have made the glass a red color, and then used the colorbands under the Object-Material/Shading-Ramps tab to add green specular and diffuse color. However, this makes the glass appear the same mix of red and green whether I put the light source on the inside or outside the cup. An example can be seen here: According to the second post here, someone was able to to fake the effect of a dichroic glass in blender rather easily through the use of a magic procedural texture but they provide no clues on how to do this (in blender). Does anyone know how to achieve this effect in blender?

• Accessing and Updating Data in ASP.NET: Filtering Data Using a CheckBoxList

  Filtering Database Data with Parameters, an earlier installment in this article series, showed how to filter the data returned by ASP.NET's data source controls. In a nutshell, the data source controls can include parameterized queries whose parameter values are defined via parameter controls. For example, the SqlDataSource can include a parameterized SelectCommand, such as: SELECT * FROM Books WHERE Price > @Price. Here, @Price is a parameter; the value for a parameter can be defined declaratively using a parameter control. ASP.NET offers a variety of parameter controls, including ones that use hard-coded values, ones that retrieve values from the querystring, and ones that retrieve values from session, and others. Perhaps the most useful parameter control is the ControlParameter, which retrieves its value from a Web control on the page. Using the ControlParameter we can filter the data returned by the data source control based on the end user's input. While the ControlParameter works well with most types of Web controls, it does not work as expected with the CheckBoxList control. The ControlParameter is designed to retrieve a single property value from the specified Web control, but the CheckBoxList control does not have a property that returns all of the values of its selected items in a form that the CheckBoxList control can use. Moreover, if you are using the selected CheckBoxList items to query a database you'll quickly find that SQL does not offer out of the box functionality for filtering results based on a user-supplied list of filter criteria. The good news is that with a little bit of effort it is possible to filter data based on the end user's selections in a CheckBoxList control. This article starts with a look at how to get SQL to filter data based on a user-supplied, comma-delimited list of values. Next, it shows how to programmatically construct a comma-delimited list that represents the selected CheckBoxList values and pass that list into the SQL query.   I have recently received following email. “We are using TraceFlag 1118 to reduce the tempDB contention on our servers (2000 and 2005). What is your opinion? We have read lots of material, would you please answer me in single line.” Wow, this was very interesting question. What intrigued me was the second last where I am asked to answer in a single line. There is something about this strong email, I feel like blogging it here. I think I can talk over this subject forever – well, there is no clear answer. There are so many caveats about everything.  Again, I must stay honest to the request about answering in single line. I also do not like to answer which is YES/NO. What should I do? Let me ask this question to community today? What will you answer to this email? Let me start this by answering it myself in one line and taking one side. “I enable this trace flag in SQL Server 2000 without hot patch or service pack and not in later versions (2005+) onwards as code is improved”. What do you do in this case? The best answer will feature in this blog with due credit. Regarding further read and hint here is Microsoft KB which I think is very helpful.   My Excel is in Finnish, but don't let that bother you... First Report Filter "Kupi" has only number values in my source table, for example 643203, 3533, 253244, etc. How ever in Pivot's "Report Filter" all those values are converted to date values MONTH yyyy. How do I reformat the filter values to respect the original cell formatting?! The same problem is with actual date values in my source table when using "Report Filter" in Pivot table. In my source data my dates are in format: dd.mm.yyyy and for some reason in Pivot's "Report Filter" all dates are shown in MONTH yyyy-format?! Why is that and what do I need to do to fix this?

  This seems similar: EXT4 "No space left on device (28)" incorrect but there is no explanation I created an ext4 filesystem on a RAID 1 array with: mke2fs -t ext4 -T small /dev/md0 Copying a single directory with many tiny files I get: cp: cannot create regular file `/mnt/raid1_new/pics/pic3412.jpg': No space left on device space used 5% inodes used 1% I manually tried: cp /source/test1.jpg /mnt/raid1_new/pics/test1.jpg --- error cp /source/test1.jpg /mnt/raid1_new/pics/test2.jpg --- ERROR cp /source/test1.jpg /mnt/raid1_new/pics/test3.jpg --- no error Notes: RAID 1 disks are error free. • Multiple possible jsp views for a request

  I'm looking to offer the user some way of changing how a single page looks based on some pre-defined jsps. i.e. Two or more jsp's contain similar information, and would be backed by a single controller method. The controller would decide which view to return. Is there a common way of achieving this? At the moment I have some administration screens where I control a list of possible views. The user can then choose which one to see from a drop-down. My current issue is that I don't know how to confirm (at the admin screen) that the view is valid. Is there a way of asking spring for all possible views so I can filter them and resent a drop-down on the admin screen rather than a free text field? If not is there a way of asking spring if a single view is valid? All these views will reside under a common directory, so it would probably be possible to scan recursively from that point and build a list of possible views. This goes beyond simply changing the css, since the page content might be different despite being backed by the same model.

• GPLv2 - Multiple AI chess engines to bypass GPL

  I have gone through a number of GPL-related questions, the most recent being this one: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3248823/legal-question-about-the-gpl-license-net-dlls/3249001#3249001 I'm trying to see how this would work, so bear with me. I have a simple GUI interface for a game of Chess. It essentially can send/receive commands to/from an external chess engine (ie: Tong, Fruit, etc). The application/GUI is similar in nature to XBoard ( http://www.gnu.org/software/xboard/ ), but was independently designed. After going through a number of threads on this topic, it seems that the FSF considers dynamically linking against a GPLv2 library as a derivative work, and that by doing so, the GPLv2 extends to my proprietary code, and I must release the source to my entire project. Other legal precedents indicate the opposite, and that dynamic linking doesn't cause the "viral" effect of the GPL to propagate to my proprietary code. Since there is no official consensus that can give a "hard-and-fast" answer to the dynamic linking question, would this be an acceptable alternative: I build my chess GUI so that it sends/receives the chess engine AI logic as text commands from an external interface library that I write The interface library I wrote itself is then released under the GPL The interface library is only used to communicate via a generic text pipe to external command-line chess engines The chess engine itself would be built as a command-line utility rather than as a library of any sort, and just sends strings in the Universal Chess Interface of Chess Engine Communication Protocol ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chess_Engine_Communication_Protocol ) format. The one "gotcha" is that the interface library should not be specific to one single GPL'ed chess engine, otherwise the entire GUI would be "entirely dependent" on it. So, I just make my interface library so that it is able to connect to any command-line chess engine that uses a specific format, rather than just one unique engine. I could then include pre-built command-line-app versions of any of the chess engines I'm using. Would that sort of approach allow me to do the following: NOT release the source for my UI Release the source of the interface library I built (if necessary) Use one or more chess engines and bundle them as external command-line utilities that ship with a binary version of my UI Thank you.

  Telligent Community combines blogs, wikis, forums, and file-sharing capabilities into a single product with single sign-on, using all Microsoft technologies. Is there an equivalent offering that runs on Unix/Linux? Or would I have to pick and choose individual product offerings and figure out another option for single sign-on across them? Are there plug-ins for something like WordPress or MovableType that might add the necessary functionality? A friend of mine is looking to add a "members-only" area to her company's website, and since they're hosted on Dreamhost (and can't afford StackExchange pricing yet), I'm trying to find other options for them.

• printable PHP manual - 'all but the Function Reference section'

  My Motivation I find it easier to learn things by reading 'offline'. I'd like to lean back and read the narrative part of a paper version of the official php manual. My Scuppered Plan My plan was to download the manual, print all but the Function Reference section and then read it. I have downloaded the "Single HTML file" version of the manual from the php.net download page. (That version did not contain any images, so I patched-in the ones from the Many HTML files version with no problem.) My plan was to open that "Single HTML file" in an HTML editor, delete the Function Reference section then print it out. Unfortunately, although I have tried three different editors, I have not been able to successfully load-up that massive html file to be able to edit it. Its about (~40MB). I started to look into the phpdoc framework with a view to rendering my own html docs from the source...but that's a steep learning curve for a newby..and is a last resort. I would use a file splitter, but they tend to split files crudely with no regard for html/xml/xhtml sematics. So the question is... Does anyone know know where you can download the php manual in a version that is a kind of half-way house between the 'Single HTML file' and the 'Many HTML files'? Ideally with the docs split into 3 parts: File 1 - stuff before the function reference File 2 - function reference File 3 - stuff after the function reference Or Can you suggest any editors/tools will enable me to split up this file myself?

  Question1: What is the best online forum to ask MSFT Excel questions of the following variety? Question2: How can I link an excel pivot-table to a potentially changing source table without having to re-draw the excel pivot-table layout every time the source table changes data. (Note, the columns are not changing, just the data in the rows). Background: I have an excel 2007 pivot table that is grabbing data from another sheet (an excel "table" ... tables are a new feature of excel 2007). When I change the data in the source table, and then go to the pivot table and press "refresh" ... the pivot table reverts to its "blank" format and requires me to re-drag the columns rows and values. What I want is for the pivot-table to simply re-draw itself without me having to re-create the pivot table layout.
