• How to filter what is shown in the for-each loop in XSL

  I thought it would be as easy as tell the for-each to only select top_coach_sales_vw that has "Site" equal to "PB" but when I run the script it does not loop through any of the data in the XML.   Hello mates, I've got a serious problem with my GPS on my Nexus One: I wrote a kind of hello world with GPS, but the Toast that should be displayed isn't :( I don't know what I'm doing wrong...maybe you could help me getting this work. • Ways of breaking down SQL transactional/call data into reports -- 'square data'?

  I've got a large database of call-traffic information (although the question could be answered with any generic data set.) For instance, a row contains : call endpoint server (endpoint_name) call endpoint status (sip_disconnect_reason) call destination (destination) call completed (duration) [duration 0 is completed] call account group (account_group) It's pretty easy to run SQL reports against the data, i.e. select count(*), endpoint_name from calls where duration0 group by endpoint_name select count(*),destination from calls where blah group by destination I've been calling this filtering or breakdown reports (I get the number of calls per carrier, etc.). Add another breakdown, and you've got two breakdowns, a la select count(*), endpoint_name, sip_disconnect_reason from calls where duration=0 group by endpoint_name, sip_disconnect_reason Of course, if you keep adding breakdowns, you end up making super-large reports and slicing your data so thin that you can't extract any trends from it. So my question is this : Is there a name for this sort of method of report writing? (I've heard words like squares, slicing and breakdown reports applied to them) --- I'm looking for a Python/Reporting toolkit that I can use to make these easier to generate for my end users. aside : Are there other ways of representing transactional data that might be useful rather than the above method?   This question is related to BuddyPress, and a follow-up question from this question I have a .csv-file with 790 rows and 3 columns where the first column is the group name, second is the group description and last (third) the slug. • Trigger JavaScript action after Datatable is loaded

  In a JSF 2.1 + PrimeFaces 3.2 web application, I need to trigger a JavaScript function after a p:dataTable is loaded. I know that there is no such event in this component, so I have to find a workaround. In order to better understand the scenario, on page load the dataTable is not rendered. It is rendered after a successful login: <p:commandButton value="Login" update=":aComponentHoldingMyDataTable" action="#{loginBean.login}" oncomplete="handleLoginRequest(xhr, status, args)"/> As you can see from the above code, I have a JavaScript hook after the successful login, if it can be of any help. Immediately after the oncomplete action has finished, the update attribute renders the dataTable: <p:dataTable var="person" value="#{myBean.lazyModel}" rendered="#{p:userPrincipal() != null}" /> After the datatable is loaded, I need to run a JavaScript function on each row item, in order to subscribe to a cometD topic. In theory I could use the oncomplete attribute of the login Button for triggering a property from myBean in order to retrieve once again the values to be displayed in the dataTable, but it doesn't seem very elegant. • TextArea component is null on applicationComplete event

  I have a weird issue (weird because it is specific to one component) with applicationComplete in a fairly simple application. All the UI components are declared in MXML. I can access them all in applicationComplete, but not a spark.components.TextArea component, named taStatus here; it is null in the handler. • Submit to open up a popup window and carry through input data

  Hi, I have a input box on one page that on submit opens a new page with a longer form and the first field is populated with what was entered from the previous pages input box. • Multithreaded Delegates/Events

  I am trying to disable parts of the UI in a .NET app based on polling done on a background thread. The background thread checks to see if the global database connection the app uses is still open and operable. What I need to do, and would prefer to do it without polling on the UI thread, is to add an event handler that can be raised by the background thread if the connection status changes. That way, any form can have a handler that will disable those parts of the UI that require the connection to function. Attempting to use a straight event declaration in the class that holds the thread sub, and raising the event in the background thread causing cross-thread execution errors regarding accessing UI controls from other threads. Obviously, there is a correct way to do this, but we have limited experience with events (single threaded apps mainly), and almost none with delegates. I've read through documentation and examples for delegates, and it seems to be closer to what we need, but I'm not sure how to make it work in this instance. The app is written mainly in VB.NET, but an example or help in C# is fine too.

  I am trying to figure out how to parse the Adword API query response without exceptions and one issue that i came across is that sometimes, the data itself contains comma besides the comma between each column. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

• efficient android rendering

  I've read quite a few tutorials on game programming on android, and all of them provide basically the same solution as to drawing the game, that is having a dedicated thread spinning like this: public void run() { while(true) { if(!surfaceHolder.getSurface().isValid()) continue; Canvas canvas = surfaceHolder.lockCanvas(); drawGame(canvas); /* do actual drawing here */ surfaceHolder.unlockCanvasAndPost(canvas); } } now I'm wondering, isn't this wasteful? Suppose I've a game with very simple graphics, so that the actual time in drawGame is little; then I'm going to draw the same things on and on, stealing cpu from the other threads; a possibility could be skipping the drawing and sleeping a bit if the game state hasn't changed, which I could check by having the state update thread mantaining a suitable status flag. But maybe there are other options. For example, couldn'it be possible to synchronize with rendering, so that I don't post updates too often? Or am I missing something and that is precisely what lockCanvas does, that is it blocks and burns no cpu until proper time? Thanks in advance L.

• Error accessing uncompiled pages using ISA Server 2006 SP1

  We are in the processing of configuring a portal to use ISA Server as our front end security provider. So we are using ISA Server 2006 SP1. Unfortunately when we access .net applications through ISA Server, the first time they are accessed. i.e. They are not compiled yet, the following error appears: Error Code: 500 Internal Server Error. The parameter is incorrect. (87) In the ISA Monitoring logs, this shows: Failed Connection Attempt Log type: Web Proxy (Reverse) Status: 87 The parameter is incorrect. Once the application is compiled, the error never appears. Does anyone know how to resolve this, so the site works correctly the first time? Some additional information: The websites accessed are running on windows server 2008 64 bit - standard edition, and occurs for Sharepoint as well as standard .net websites. ISA Server is running on Windows server 2003 R2 SP2 Standard eidtion The firewall on the windows server 2008 box allows all access. (To rule this out.) Nothing odd appears in the IIS logs or firewall logs.

• How do I implement aasm in Rails 3 for what I want it to do?

  I am a Rails n00b and have been advised that in order for me to keep track of the status of my user's accounts (i.e. paid, unpaid (and therefore disabled), free trial, etc.) I should use an 'AASM' gem. So I found one that seems to be the most popular: https://github.com/rubyist/aasm But the instructions are pretty vague. I have a Users model and a Plan model. User's model manages everything you might expect (username, password, first name, etc.). Plan model manages the subscription plan that users should be assigned to (with the restrictions). So I am trying to figure out how to use the AASM gem to do what I want to do, but no clue where to start. Do I create a new model ? Then do I setup a relationship between my User model and the model for AASM ? How do I setup a relationship? As in, a user 'has_many' states ? That doesn't seem to make much sense to me. Any guidance would be really appreciated. Thanks. If there are more than one option the products name prints several times. So if I got a product with three options the product name prints three times.   I need to put something together quickly that will take blog posts and place them on social media sites, the requirements are as follows: Blog Entries are independent records that already exist, they have a published date and a modified date, the blog entry application cannot be changed, at least not substantially A new blog entry, or update needs to be sent to social media sites I currently do not need to update or delete social media communications if the blog entry is edited, or deleted, though I may need to later My design problems here are as follows: how do I know the status of each update how can I figure out what blog entry updates and postings have already been sent out? how can I quickly poll the blog entry table for postings that haven't yet been sent out? Avoiding looking at each Entry record from the DB as an object and asking if it's been sent already. That would be too slow. I cannot hook into any Blog Entry update code, my only option would be to create a trigger that an update queues something to be processed I'm looking for general guiding principles here, the biggest problem I'm having is coming up with any reasonable way to figure out if a blog entry should be sent to our social media sites in the first place

• Stopping work from one thread using another thread

  Not sure if my title is worded well, but whatever :) I have two threads: the main thread with the work that needs to be done, and a worker thread that contains a form with a progress bar and a cancel button. In normal code, it would be the other way around, but I can't do that in this case. When the user clicks the cancel button, a prompt is displayed asking if he wants to really cancel the work. The problem is that work continues on the main thread. I can get the main thread to stop work and such, but I would like for it to stop doing work when he clicks "Yes" on the prompt. • Debugging Post Request with Chrome Dev Tools

  I am trying to use Chrome Dev for debugging the following Angular post request : $http.post("http://picjboss.puma.lan:8880/fluxpousse/api/flow/createOrUpdateHeader", flowHeader) After running the statement with right-click / evaluate, I can see the post in the network panel with a pending state. How can I get the result or "commit" the request and leave easily this "pending" state from the dev console ? I am not yet very familiar with JS callbacks, some code is expected. Thanks. • How to implement a network protocol?

  Here is a generic question. I'm not in search of the best answer, I'd just like you to express your favourite practices. I want to implement a network protocol in Java (but this is a rather general question, I faced the same issues in C++), this is not the first time, as I have done this before. But I think I am missing a good way to implement it. In fact usually it's all about exchanging text messages and some byte buffers between hosts, storing the status and wait until the next message comes. The problem is that I usually end up with a bunch of switch and more or less complex if statements that react to different statuses / messages. The whole thing usually gets complicated and hard to mantain. Not to mention that sometimes what comes out has some "blind spot", I mean statuses of the protocol that have not been covered and that behave in a unpredictable way. I tried to write down some state machine classes, that take care of checking start and end statuses for each action in more or less smart ways. This makes programming the protocol very complicated as I have to write lines and lines of code to cover every possible situation. What I'd like is something like a good pattern, or a best practice that is used in programming complex protocols, easy to mantain and to extend and very readable. What are your suggestions?

  Javascript and jQuery (Fancybox) question I'm using the Javascript function below for Twitter sharing (as well as other services; the function code is simplified to just Twitter for this question) that grabs the to-be-shared page URL and title and it is invoked in the link with onclick. That results in the Twitter share page loading in a pop up browser window, i.e.<img src="/images/twitter_16.png" onclick="share.tw()" /> In order to be consistent with other design aspects of the site, what I'd like to be able to do is have the Twitter share page open not in a standard browser window but in a Fancybox (jQuery) window. Fancybox can load an external page in an iFrame when the img or href link contains a class (in this case class="iframe" ) in the link and in the document ready function in the header. Right now, of course, when I give the iframe class to the link that also has the onclick share.tw(), I get two popups: one browser window popup with the correct Twitter share page loaded, and a Fancybox jQuery popup that shows a site 404. How can I change the function to use Fancybox to present the Twitter share page? Is that a correct way to approach it? Or is there a better way, such as implementing the share function in jQuery, too? Thanks...
