  • MySQL - Calculate the net time difference between two date-times while excluding breaks?

    In a MySQL query I am using the timediff/time_to_sec functions to calculate the total minutes between two date-times. For example: 2010-03-23 10:00:00 - 2010-03-23 08:00:00 = 120 minutes What I would like to do is exclude any breaks that occur during the selected time range. For example: 2010-03-23 10:00:00 - 2010-03-23 08:00:00 - (break 08:55:00 to 09:10:00) = 105 minutes Is there a good method to do this without resorting to a long list of nested IF statements?

    Hi Guys, I've written a kind of navigation system for pedestrians. The only thing is, that I need a criterion to finish the navigation. My values are gives as lat/long pairs. What would you assume would be a good value to say, both positions are equal/near enough to tell the user that he has reached the goal?     I have a function that is being called when the user is typing in a search box. I want to wait for the user to finish typing before I actually execute the function. I know how to easily accomplish this in JavaScript with timeouts, but how would I go about doing the same thing in C#? Also, how long should I wait before I assume the user is done typing? 100ms?

For the last question "what impediments are getting in your way" If a dev has problems - the xyz is going to have problems, this is likely going to draw the meeting out past 15 mins and could go into a hour long discussion. Is it the scrum masters job to help this user, is there something to stop this from going on more than 15 mins. Thoughts?

    Hello, I'm coding a uploader that saves into the db the date when a file is uploaded using CURDATE(). I want to compare the current date with the one stored into the db in order to change the color of the icon related to the file depending on how long has this feel been uploaded. For instance, if less than a week, the icon will be green, if more than a week, it will be yellow, if more than two weeks, red. How can I do it? Thanks.

  • Does SQL Server have any kind of magic undo feature?

    Long story short is I tried to quickly update a single row in SQL Server using the Management studio and just typed UPDATE table SET column='value' and forgot the WHERE other_column='other_value' portion. Went for lunch, came back and theres 15 unread emails waiting for me. Happened about an hour ago, waiting for the database guy to come back to see when the last backup was. There's no magic UNDO feature though is there?

  • how to generate the "create table" sql statement for an existing table in postgreSQL

    I have a table created long ago in postgreSQL. Now i want to look at the sql statement used to create it but cannot figure it out. Also when i do the \dS+ tablename it says table not found, but \dt+ tablename is working fine. The \dS+ lists all the table names owned by the root postgres user and doesn't show up tables that i created with my user account. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

When I put more than 2 items in the download queue my device is unusable. It nearly freezes. Huge lags and so on. Any idea?   • Developing GWT without a net connection?

    Hi, When I'm developing my gwt project without a network connection, is there a way to detect this? For example, I have a widget that has an Image in it, and the widget does not display until the Image url request times out (takes a long time, like 2 minutes?). Also, whenever I refresh the page in hosted mode, it doesn't finish loading for about a minute, when no network connection - seems like gwt is trying to contact some external website and blocking on that until it times out too - making things really slow - any way to stop that too? Thanks
