  • WPF: Adorner Hit Testing / MouseDown Event

    - by stefan.at.wpf
    Hello, I have an Adorner which adornes a Border (please see screenshot below). The MouseDown Event for the Adorner is however only raised, when clicking on an element in the adorner. I need the MouseDown Event to be raised, when clicking on any place in the adorner above the adorned element. How can this be done? Do I have to add an transparent control in the adorner or is there another way for this? Thanks for any help! Screenshot and VS 2008 Project: http://cid-0432ee4cfe9c26a0.skydrive.live.com/browse.aspx/%C3%96ffentlich?uc=2 The Code for the adorner: class myAdorner : Adorner { public myAdorner(UIElement element) : base(element) { this.MouseDown += new System.Windows.Input.MouseButtonEventHandler(myAdorner_MouseDown); } void myAdorner_MouseDown(object sender, System.Windows.Input.MouseButtonEventArgs e) { MessageBox.Show("ok"); } // Draws two rectangles: one in the upper-left and another one in the lower-right corner protected override void OnRender(System.Windows.Media.DrawingContext drawingContext) { Size size = this.AdornedElement.RenderSize; Rect r1 = new Rect(0.5, 0.5, 20, 20); Rect r4 = new Rect(size.Width - 20.5, size.Height - 20.5, 20, 20); SolidColorBrush brush = new SolidColorBrush(Colors.AliceBlue); Pen pen = new Pen(Brushes.Black, 1); drawingContext.DrawRectangle(brush, pen, r1); drawingContext.DrawRectangle(brush, pen, r4); } }

  • iPhone: how to use performSelector:onThread:withObject:waitUntilDone: method?

    - by Michael Kessler
    Hi all, I am trying to use a separate thread for working with some API. The problem is that I am not able to use performSelector:onThread:withObject:waitUntilDone: method with a thread that I' instantiated for this. My code: @interface MyObject : NSObject { NSThread *_myThread; } @property(nonatomic, retain) NSThread *myThread; @end @implementation MyObject @synthesize myThread = _myThread; - (NSThread *)myThread { if (_myThread == nil) { NSThread *myThreadTemp = [[NSThread alloc] init]; [myThreadTemp start]; self. myThread = myThreadTemp; [myThreadTemp release]; } return _myThread; } - (id)init { if (self = [super init]) { [self performSelector:@selector(privateInit:) onThread:[self myThread] withObject:nil waitUntilDone:NO]; } return self; } - (void)privateInit:(id)object { NSLog(@"MyObject - privateInit start"); } - (void)dealloc { [_myThread release]; _myThread = nil; [super dealloc]; } @end "MyObject - privateInit start" is never printed. What am I missing? I tried to instantiate the thread with target and selector, tried to wait for method execution completion (waitUntilDone:YES). Nothing helps. UPDATE: I don't need this multithreading for separating costly operations to another thread. In this case I could use the performSelectorInBackground as mentioned in few answers. The main reason for this separate thread is the need to perform all the actions in the API (TTS by Loquendo) from one single thread. Meaning that I have to create an instance of the TTS object and call methods on that object from the same thread all the time.

  • Entity Framework 4 Code First and the new() Operator

    - by Eric J.
    I have a rather deep hierarchy of objects that I'm trying to persist with Entity Framework 4, POCO, PI (Persistence Ignorance) and Code First. Suddenly things started working pretty well when it dawned on me to not use the new() operator. As originally written, the objects frequently use new() to create child objects. Instead I'm using my take on the Repository Pattern to create all child objects as needed. For example, given: class Adam { List<Child> children; void AddChildGivenInput(string input) { children.Add(new Child(...)); } } class Child { List<GrandChild> grandchildren; void AddGrandChildGivenInput(string input) { grandchildren.Add(new GrandChild(...)); } } class GrandChild { } ("GivenInput" implies some processing not shown here) I define an AdamRepository like: class AdamRepository { Adam Add() { return objectContext.Create<Adam>(); } Child AddChildGivenInput(Adam adam, string input) { return adam.children.Add(new Child(...)); } GrandChild AddGrandchildGivenInput(Child child, string input) { return child.grandchildren.Add(new GrandChild(...)); } } Now, this works well enough. However, I'm no longer "ignorant" of my persistence mechanism as I have abandoned the new() operator. Additionally, I'm at risk of an anemic domain model since so much logic ends up in the repository rather than in the domain objects. After much adieu, a question: Or rather several questions... Is this pattern required to work with EF 4 Code First? Is there a way to retain use of new() and still work with EF 4 / POCO / Code First? Is there another pattern that would leave logic in the domain object and still work with EF 4 / POCO / Code First? Will this restriction be lifted in later versions of Code First support? Sometimes trying to go the POCO / Persistence Ignorance route feels like swimming upstream, other times it feels like swimming up Niagra Falls.

  • Tracking changes in Entity Framework 4.0 using POCO Dynamic Proxies across multiple data contexts.

    - by Rob Packwood
    I started messing with EF 4.0 because I am curious about the POCO possibilities... I wanted to simulate disconnected web environment and wrote the following code to simulate this: Save a test object in the database. Retrieve the test object Dispose of the DataContext associated with the test object I used to retrieve it Update the test object Create a new data context and persist the changes on the test object that are automatically tracked within the DynamicProxy generated against my POCO object. The problem is that when I call dataContext.SaveChanges in the Test method above, the updates are not applied. The testStore entity shows a status of "Modified" when I check its EntityStateTracker, but it is no longer modified when I view it within the new dataContext's Stores property. I would have thought that calling the Attach method on the new dataContext would also bring the object's "Modified" state over, but that appears to not be the case. Is there something I am missing? I am definitely working with self-tracking POCOs using DynamicProxies. private static void SaveTestStore(string storeName = "TestStore") { using (var context = new DataContext()) { Store newStore = context.Stores.CreateObject(); newStore.Name = storeName; context.Stores.AddObject(newStore); context.SaveChanges(); } } private static Store GetStore(string storeName = "TestStore") { using (var context = new DataContext()) { return (from store in context.Stores where store.Name == storeName select store).SingleOrDefault(); } } [Test] public void Test_Store_Update_Using_Different_DataContext() { SaveTestStore(); Store testStore = GetStore(); testStore.Name = "Updated"; using (var dataContext = new DataContext()) { dataContext.Stores.Attach(testStore); dataContext.SaveChanges(SaveOptions.DetectChangesBeforeSave); } Store updatedStore = GetStore("Updated"); Assert.IsNotNull(updatedStore); }

  • iPhone how to enable or disable UITabBar

    - by Dean Wagstaff
    I have a simple app with a tab bar which based upon user input disables one or more of the bar items. I understand I need to use a UITabBarDelegate which I have tried to use. However when I call the delegate method I get an uncaught exception error [NSObject doesNotRecognizeSelector]. I am not sure I am doing this all right or that I haven't missed something. Any suggestions. What I have now is the following: WMViewController.h import define kHundreds 0 @interface WMViewController : UIViewController { } @end WMViewController.m import "WMViewController.h" import "MLDTabBarControllerAppDelegate.h" @implementation WMViewController (IBAction)finishWizard{ MLDTabBarControllerAppDelegate *appDelegate = (MLDTabBarControllerAppDelegate *)[[UIApplication sharedApplication] delegate]; [appDelegate setAvailabilityTabIndex:0 Enable:TRUE]; } MLDTabBarControllerAppDelegate.h import @interface MLDTabBarControllerAppDelegate : NSObject { } (void) setAvailabilityTabIndex: (NSInteger) index Enable: (BOOL) enable; @end MLDTabBarControllerAppDelegate.m import "MLDTabBarControllerApplicationDelegate.h" import "MyListDietAppDelegate.h" @implementation MLDTabBarControllerAppDelegate (void) setAvailabilityTabIndex: (NSInteger) index Enable: (BOOL) enable { UITabBarController *controller = (UITabBarController *)[[[MyOrganizerAppDelegate getTabBarController] viewControllers ] objectAtIndex:index]; [[controller tabBarItem] setEnabled:enable]; } @end I get what appear to be a good controller object but crash on the [[controller tabBarItem]setEnabled:enable]; What am I missing... Any suggestions Thanks,

  • Cannot resolve TargetName - Silverlight4 C#

    - by Redburn
    I am getting the error Cannot resolve TargetName grdGeneral. What I am trying to do is have a fade out function which accepts a grid and fades the opacity to zero. I have this function called on MouseLeftButtonDown and is loaded after the xaml and form has loaded. Calling the fade out: private void imgNext_MouseLeftButtonDown(object sender, MouseButtonEventArgs e) { fadeOut(grdGeneral); } The fade out function: private void fadeOut(Grid pGrid) { Storyboard stb = new Storyboard(); DoubleAnimation da = new DoubleAnimation(); da.From = 1.0; da.To = 0.0; stb.Duration = new Duration(TimeSpan.FromSeconds(.75)); stb.Children.Add(da); Storyboard.SetTargetName(da, pGrid.Name); Storyboard.SetTargetProperty(da, new PropertyPath(Grid.OpacityProperty)); stb.Begin(); } I have been on a handful of tutorial sites and my code seems to follow the same order. I also have been on this stackoverflow question before you say repost. That question has to deal with mutlipages and I am merely trying to start a animation. • IOs7 app crashing when in background

    - by Leonardo
    My app sometimes crashes when in background and shows the following crash log: Nov 7 12:33:31 iPad backboardd[29] <Warning>: MyApp[3096] has active assertions beyond permitted time: {( <BKProcessAssertion: 0x14680c60> identifier: Called by MyApp, from -[AppDelegate applicationDidEnterBackground:] process: MyApp[3096] permittedBackgroundDuration: 180.000000 reason: finishTask owner pid:3096 preventSuspend preventIdleSleep preventSuspendOnSleep )} Looking through other questions I found out that the crash message indicates that I didn't end a task properly, so when its time expired the OS ended it and crashed my app. So I added some NSLogs: - (void)applicationDidEnterBackground:(UIApplication *)application { [self saveContext]; [Settings setCallLock:YES]; [self saveStuff]; if ([self isBackgroundTaskNeeded]) { UIApplication* app = [UIApplication sharedApplication]; bgTask = [app beginBackgroundTaskWithExpirationHandler:^{ [self pauseDownloads]; NSLog(@"Debug - Ending background task %d",bgTask); [app endBackgroundTask:bgTask]; NSLog(@"Debug - Background task %d ended",bgTask); bgTask = UIBackgroundTaskInvalid; }]; NSLog(@"Debug - Starting background task %d",bgTask); [self initBackground]; } } and found out that the task was called twice when it crashed: Nov 7 12:30:02 iPad MyApp[3096] <Warning>: Debug - Starting background task 7 Nov 7 12:30:30 iPad MyApp[3096] <Warning>: Debug - Starting background task 8 Nov 7 12:33:26 iPad MyApp[3096] <Warning>: Debug - Ending background task 8 Nov 7 12:33:26 iPad MyApp[3096] <Warning>: Debug - Background task 8 ended Nov 7 12:33:26 iPad MyApp[3096] <Warning>: Debug - Ending background task 0 Nov 7 12:33:26 iPad MyApp[3096] <Warning>: Debug - Background task 0 ended I wasn't able to tell when the double call happens and why. • Static linking in Qt --> link errors in VS 2008

    - by ChruS
    Today I dediced to make static linking in Qt. I used Qt4 with Visual Studio and static C runtime article. The 3rd step took quite a long time. When it was finished I opened my project in VS 2008, made Build->Clean Solution and try to Release. Unfortunately I got link errors: warning LNK4098: defaultlib 'libcmt.lib' conflicts with use of other libs; use /NODEFAULTLIB:library error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol "private: static struct QString::Data QString::shared_null" (?shared_null@QString@@0UData@1@A) referenced in function "public: __thiscall QString::QString(void)" (??0QString@@QAE@XZ) error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol "private: static struct QByteArray::Data QByteArray::shared_null" (?shared_null@QByteArray@@0UData@1@A) referenced in function "public: __thiscall QByteArray::QByteArray(void)" (??0QByteArray@@QAE@XZ) error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol "private: static struct QByteArray::Data QByteArray::shared_null" (?shared_null@QByteArray@@0UData@1@A) error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol "public: static struct QMetaObject const QDialog::staticMetaObject" (?staticMetaObject@QDialog@@2UQMetaObject@@B) error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol "public: static struct QMetaObject const QDialog::staticMetaObject" (?staticMetaObject@QDialog@@2UQMetaObject@@B) error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol "public: static struct QMetaObject const QDialog::staticMetaObject" (?staticMetaObject@QDialog@@2UQMetaObject@@B) error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol "public: static enum QSysInfo::WinVersion const QSysInfo::WindowsVersion" (?WindowsVersion@QSysInfo@@2W4WinVersion@1@B) referenced in function _WinMain@16 What i did wrong? • How to play non buffered .wav with MediaStreamSource implementation in Silverlight 4?

    - by kyrisu
    Background I'm trying to stream a wave file in Silverlight 4 using MediaStreamSource implementation found here. The problem is I want to play the file while it's still buffering, or at least give user some visual feedback while it's buffering. For now my code looks like that: private void button1_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { HttpWebRequest request = (HttpWebRequest)HttpWebRequest.Create(new Uri(App.Current.Host.Source, "../test.wav")); //request.ContentType = "audio/x-wav"; request.AllowReadStreamBuffering = false; request.BeginGetResponse(new AsyncCallback(RequestCallback), request); } private void RequestCallback(IAsyncResult ar) { this.Dispatcher.BeginInvoke(delegate() { HttpWebRequest request = (HttpWebRequest)ar.AsyncState; HttpWebResponse response = (HttpWebResponse)request.EndGetResponse(ar); WaveMediaStreamSource wavMss = new WaveMediaStreamSource(response.GetResponseStream()); try { me.SetSource(wavMss); } catch (InvalidOperationException) { // This file is not valid } me.Play(); }); } The problem is that after settings request.AllowREadStreamBuffer to false the stream does not support seeking and the above mentioned implementation throws an exception (keep in mind I've put some of the position setting logic into if(stream.CanSeek) block): Read is not supported on the main thread when buffering is disabled Question Is there a way to play wav stream without buffering it in advance?

  • Deselect dates in Web Calendar c#

  • In Asp.Net MVC 2 is there a better way to return 401 status codes without getting an auth redirect

    - by Greg Roberts
    I have a portion of my site that has a lightweight xml/json REST API. Most of my site is behind forms auth but only some of my API actions require authentication. I have a custom AuthorizeAttribute for my API that I use to check for certain permissions and when it fails it results in a 401. All is good, except since I'm using forms auth, Asp.net conveniently converts that into a 302 redirect to my login page. I've seen some previous questions that seem a bit hackish to either return a 403 instead or to put some logic in the global.asax protected void Application_EndRequest() that will essentially convert 302 to 401 where it meets whatever criteria. Previous Question Previous Question 2 What I'm doing now is sort of like one of the questions, but instead of checking the Application_EndRequest() for a 302 I make my authorize attribute return 666 which indicates to me that I need to set this to a 401. Here is my code: protected void Application_EndRequest() { if (Context.Response.StatusCode == MyAuthAttribute.AUTHORIZATION_FAILED_STATUS) { //check for 666 - status code of hidden 401 Context.Response.StatusCode = 401; } } Even though this works, my question is there something in Asp.net MVC 2 that would prevent me from having to do this? Or, in general is there a better way? I would think this would come up a lot for anyone doing REST api's or just people that do ajax requests in their controllers. The last thing you want is to do a request and get the content of a login page instead of json.

  • Merge method in MergeSort Algorithm .

    - by Tony
    I've seen many mergeSort implementations .Here is the version in Data Structures and Algorithms in Java (2nd Edition) by Robert Lafore : private void recMergeSort(long[] workSpace, int lowerBound,int upperBound) { if(lowerBound == upperBound) // if range is 1, return; // no use sorting else { // find midpoint int mid = (lowerBound+upperBound) / 2; // sort low half recMergeSort(workSpace, lowerBound, mid); // sort high half recMergeSort(workSpace, mid+1, upperBound); // merge them merge(workSpace, lowerBound, mid+1, upperBound); } // end else } // end recMergeSort() private void merge(long[] workSpace, int lowPtr, int highPtr, int upperBound) { int j = 0; // workspace index int lowerBound = lowPtr; int mid = highPtr-1; int n = upperBound-lowerBound+1; // # of items while(lowPtr <= mid && highPtr <= upperBound) if( theArray[lowPtr] < theArray[highPtr] ) workSpace[j++] = theArray[lowPtr++]; else workSpace[j++] = theArray[highPtr++]; while(lowPtr <= mid) workSpace[j++] = theArray[lowPtr++]; while(highPtr <= upperBound) workSpace[j++] = theArray[highPtr++]; for(j=0; j<n; j++) theArray[lowerBound+j] = workSpace[j]; } // end merge() One interesting thing about merge method is that , almost all the implementations didn't pass the lowerBound parameter to merge method . lowerBound is calculated in the merge . This is strange , since lowerPtr = mid + 1 ; lowerBound = lowerPtr -1 ; that means lowerBound = mid ; Why the author didn't pass mid to merge like merge(workSpace, lowerBound,mid, mid+1, upperBound); ? I think there must be a reason , otherwise I can't understand why an algorithm older than half a center ,and have all coincident in the such little detail.

    Everything is fine, my navigation controller display's my 'Menu 1' item, but when i click it there appears to be a problem with the: [self.navigationController pushViewController:c animated:YES]; line it doesn't connect to the break point in the myClass file. so I think i've not joined something? but unsure what? my second view with the navigation controller doesn't have direct access to the AppDelegate so can't join it like i see in some tutorials. 1st view is just a button when clicked calls: [self presentModalViewController:mainViewController animated:YES]; my second View 'MainViewController' header looks like: @interface MainViewController :UITableViewController <UITableViewDelegate, UITableViewDataSource> { NSArray *controllers; UINavigationController *navController; } @property (nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet UINavigationController *navControllers; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSArray *controller; Then I have my MainViewController.m @synthesize controllers; @synthesize navController; - (void) viewDidLoad { NSMutableArray *array = [[NSMutaleArray alloc] init]; myClass *c = [[myClass alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewStylePlain]; c.Title = @"Menu 1"; [array addObject:c]; self.Controllers = array; [array release]; } implemented numberOfRowsInSection and cellForRowAtIndexPath - (void) tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { NSUInteger row = [indexPath row]; myClass *c = [self.controllers objectAtIndex:row]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:c animated:YES]; // doesn't load myClass c // [self.navController pushViewController:c animated:YES]; } Also in interface designer I dragged a Navigation Controller onto my new XIB and changed the Root View Controller class to MainViewController and also connected the File Owner connector to the Navigation Controller to connect the navController Outlet. Thanks for you time.

  • Writing a docx file to a BLOB using Java 1.4 inside Oracle 10g

    - by Jon Renaut
    I'm trying to generate a blank docx file using Java, add some text, then write it to a BLOB that I can return to our document processing engine (a custom mess of PL/SQL and Java). I have to use the 1.4 JVM inside Oracle 10g, so no Java 1.5 stuff. I don't have a problem writing the docx to a file on my local machine, but when I try to write to BLOB, I'm getting garbage. Am I doing something dumb? Any help is appreciated. Note in the code below, all the get[name]Xml() methods return an org.w3c.dom.Document. public void save(String fileName) throws Exception { ZipOutputStream zos = new ZipOutputStream(new FileOutputStream(fileName)); addEntry(zos, getDocumentXml(), "word/document.xml"); addEntry(zos, getContentTypesXml(), "[Content_Types].xml"); addEntry(zos, getRelsXml(), "_rels/.rels"); zos.flush(); zos.close(); } public java.sql.BLOB save() throws Exception { java.sql.Connection conn = DbUtilities.openConnection(); BLOB outBlob = BLOB.createTemporary(conn, true, BLOB.DURATION_SESSION); outBlob.open(BLOB.MODE_READWRITE); ZipOutputStream zos = new ZipOutputStream(outBlob.setBinaryStream(0L)); addEntry(zos, getDocumentXml(), "word/document.xml"); addEntry(zos, getContentTypesXml(), "[Content_Types].xml"); addEntry(zos, getRelsXml(), "_rels/.rels"); zos.flush(); zos.close(); return outBlob; } private void addEntry(ZipOutputStream zos, Document doc, String fileName) throws Exception { Transformer t = TransformerFactory.newInstance().newTransformer(); ByteArrayOutputStream baos = new ByteArrayOutputStream(); t.transform(new DOMSource(doc), new StreamResult(baos)); ZipEntry ze = new ZipEntry(fileName); byte[] data = baos.toByteArray(); ze.setSize(data.length); zos.putNextEntry(ze); zos.write(data); zos.flush(); zos.closeEntry(); }

  • How to use Parcel in Android?

    - by Mike
    I'm trying to use Parcel to write and then read back a Parcelable. For some reason, when I read the object back from the file, it's coming back as null. public void testFoo() { final Foo orig = new Foo("blah blah"); // Wrote orig to a parcel and then byte array final Parcel p1 = Parcel.obtain(); p1.writeValue(orig); final byte[] bytes = p1.marshall(); // Check to make sure that the byte array seems to contain a Parcelable assertEquals(4, bytes[0]); // Parcel.VAL_PARCELABLE // Unmarshall a Foo from that byte array final Parcel p2 = Parcel.obtain(); p2.unmarshall(bytes, 0, bytes.length); final Foo result = (Foo) p2.readValue(Foo.class.getClassLoader()); assertNotNull(result); // FAIL assertEquals( orig.str, result.str ); } protected static class Foo implements Parcelable { protected static final Parcelable.Creator<Foo> CREATOR = new Parcelable.Creator<Foo>() { public Foo createFromParcel(Parcel source) { final Foo f = new Foo(); f.str = (String) source.readValue(Foo.class.getClassLoader()); return f; } public Foo[] newArray(int size) { throw new UnsupportedOperationException(); } }; public String str; public Foo() { } public Foo( String s ) { str = s; } public int describeContents() { return 0; } public void writeToParcel(Parcel dest, int ignored) { dest.writeValue(str); } } What am I missing? UPDATE: To simplify the test I've removed the reading and writing of files in my original example.

  • Linq to SQL and concurrency with Rob Conery repository pattern

    - by David Hall
    I have implemented a DAL using Rob Conery's spin on the repository pattern (from the MVC Storefront project) where I map database objects to domain objects using Linq and use Linq to SQL to actually get the data. This is all working wonderfully giving me the full control over the shape of my domain objects that I want, but I have hit a problem with concurrency that I thought I'd ask about here. I have concurrency working but the solution feels like it might be wrong (just one of those gitchy feelings). The basic pattern is: private MyDataContext _datacontext private Table _tasks; public Repository(MyDataContext datacontext) { _dataContext = datacontext; } public void GetTasks() { _tasks = from t in _dataContext.Tasks; return from t in _tasks select new Domain.Task { Name = t.Name, Id = t.TaskId, Description = t.Description }; } public void SaveTask(Domain.Task task) { Task dbTask = null; // Logic for new tasks omitted... dbTask = (from t in _tasks where t.TaskId == task.Id select t).SingleOrDefault(); dbTask.Description = task.Description, dbTask.Name = task.Name, _dataContext.SubmitChanges(); } So with that implementation I've lost concurrency tracking because of the mapping to the domain task. I get it back by storing the private Table which is my datacontext list of tasks at the time of getting the original task. I then update the tasks from this stored Table and save what I've updated This is working - I get change conflict exceptions raised when there are concurrency violations, just as I want. However, it just screams to me that I've missed a trick. Is there a better way of doing this? I've looked at the .Attach method on the datacontext but that appears to require storing the original version in a similar way to what I'm already doing. I also know that I could avoid all this by doing away with the domain objects and letting the Linq to SQL generated objects all the way up my stack - but I dislike that just as much as I dislike the way I'm handling concurrency.

  • iPhone locationManager:didFailWithError problem when GPS disabled

    - by BenG
    So, I've followed other related threads, but for some reason I'm still having this error and I'm about ready to tear my hair out. I have implemented locationManager:didFailWithError to check and see if a user selects 'Don't Allow' to use the current location. -(void)locationManager:(CLLocationManager *)manager didFailWithError:(NSError *)error { NSLog(@"IN ERROR"); if ([error code] == kCLErrorDenied){ [manager stopUpdatingLocation]; } } However, the following error always appears when the user selects 'Don't Allow'...it's strange, especially the order that the text 'IN ERROR' appears. ERROR,Time,293420691.000,Function,"void CLClientHandleDaemonDataRegistration(__CLClient*, const CLDaemonCommToClientRegistration*, const __CFDictionary*)",server did not accept client registration 1 2010-04-19 21:44:51.000 testApp[1414:207] IN ERROR So, it's outputting this error even before it has a chance to get into the didFailWithError function. Does anyone have any ideas of what might be happening? The rest of the locationManager code is as follows: self.locationManager = [[[CLLocationManager alloc] init] autorelease]; locationManager.delegate = self; locationManager.desiredAccuracy = kCLLocationAccuracyKilometer; locationManager.distanceFilter = 2; [locationManager startUpdatingLocation];

  • LINQ To SQL ignore unique constraint exception and continue

    - by Martin
    I have a single table in a database called Users Users ------ ID (PK, Identity) Username (Unique Index) I have setup a unique index on the Username table to prevent duplicates. I am then enumerating through a collection and creating a new user in the database for each item. What I want to do is just insert a new user and ignore the exception if the unique key constraint is violated (as it's clearly a duplicate record in that case). This is to avoid having to craft where not exists kind of queries. First off, is this going to be any more efficient or should my insert code be checking for duplicates instead? I'm drawn more to the database having that logic as this prevents any other type of client from inserting duplicate data. My other issue is related to LINQ To SQL. I have the following code: public class TestRepo { DatabaseDataContext database = new DatabaseDataContext(); public void Add(string username) { database.Users.InsertOnSubmit(new User() { Username = username }); } public void Save() { database.SubmitChanges(); } } And then I iterate over a collection and insert new users, ignoring any exceptions: TestRepo repo = new TestRepo(); foreach (var name in new string[] { "Tim", "Bob", "John" }) { try { repo.Add(name); repo.Save(); } catch { } } The first time this is run, great I have three users in the table. If I remove the second one and run this code again, nothing is inserted. I expected the first insert to fail with the exception, the second to succeed (as I just removed that item from the DB) and the third to then fail. What seems to be happening is that once the SqlException is thrown (even though the loop continues to iterate) all of the next inserts fail - even when there isn't a row in the table that would cause a unique violation. Can anyone explain this? P.S. The only workaround I could find was to instantiate the repo each time before the insert, then it worked exactly as excepted - indicating that it's something to do with the LINQ To SQL DataContext. Thanks.

  • Actionscript 3: Force program to wait until event handler is called

    - by Jeremy Swinarton
    I have an AS 3.0 class that loads a JSON file in using a URLRequest. package { import flash.display.MovieClip; import flash.display.Loader; import flash.net.URLRequest; import flash.net.URLLoader; import flash.events.Event; public class Tiles extends MovieClip { private var mapWidth:int,mapHeight:int; private var mapFile:String; private var mapLoaded:Boolean=false; public function Tiles(m:String) { init(m); } private function init(m:String):void { // Initiates the map arrays for later use. mapFile=m; // Load the map file in. var loader:URLLoader = new URLLoader(); loader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, mapHandler); loader.load(new URLRequest("maps/" + mapFile)); } private function mapHandler(e:Event):void { mapLoaded=true; mapWidth=3000; } public function getMapWidth():int { if (mapLoaded) { return (mapWidth); } else { getMapWidth(); return(-1); } } } } When the file is finished loading, the mapHandler event makes changes to the class properties, which in turn are accessed using the getMapWidth function. However, if the getMapwidth function gets called before it finishes loading, the program will fail. How can I make the class wait to accept function calls until after the file is loaded?

  • ASP.NET MVC 2 matches correct area route but generates URL to the first registered area instead.

    - by Sandor Drieënhuizen
    I'm working on a S#arpArchitecture 1.5 project, which uses ASP.NET MVC 2. I've been trying to get areas to work properly but I ran into a problem: The ASP.NET MVC 2 routing engine matches the correct route to my area but then it generates an URL that belongs to the first registered area instead. Here's my request URL: /Framework/Authentication/LogOn?ReturnUrl=%2fDefault.aspx I'm using the Route Tester from Phil Haack and it shows: Matched Route: Framework/{controller}/{action}/{id} Generated URL: /Data/Authentication/LogOn?ReturnUrl=%2FDefault.aspx using the route "Data/{controller}/{action}/{id}" That's clearly wrong, the URL should point to the Framework area, not the Data area. This is how I register my routes, nothing special there IMO. private static void RegisterRoutes(RouteCollection routes) { routes.IgnoreRoute("{resource}.axd/{*pathInfo}"); AreaRegistration.RegisterAllAreas(); routes.MapRoute( "default", "{controller}/{action}/{id}", new { controller = "Home", action = "Index", id = UrlParameter.Optional }); } The area registration classes all look like this. Again, nothing special. public class FrameworkAreaRegistration : AreaRegistration { public override string AreaName { get { return "Framework"; } } public override void RegisterArea(AreaRegistrationContext context) { context.MapRoute( "Framework_default", "Framework/{controller}/{action}/{id}", new { controller = "Home", action = "Index", id = UrlParameter.Optional }); } }
