  • How can I set my TP-Link TL-WR1043ND to extend my router - modem range?

    I'd like to extend my WiFi coverage, so I've bought the TP-Link TL-WR1043ND and updated its firmware to the latest (wr1043nv1_en_3_13_4_up(110429)) but I can't find how to use its WDS function. Reading further on Super User I understand that both the modem-router (Pirelli Alice Gate) and the TL-WR1043ND should support WDS. Are there any tricks to achieve the same result - extending my WiFi range - even changing the firmware to DD-WRT or Tomato etc?

    I cannot seem to find or get the required drivers for Intel Centrino Advanced-N + WiMAX 6250 on windows 8 64bit on my Dell N7010 Laptop I have wifi connectivity but all i get is max G speeds and no N speeds, transfering files on mapped drives is really slow as a result, this wasnt the case before, i dont care about wimax, but even those drivers would be appreciated incase i decide to sell in future...

  • subversion on a local drive problem

    Hello guys, I am setting up subversion using this link http://svn.spears.at/ It says that "As the Subversion book warns, make sure to create all repositories on your local disks [FiberChannel is treated as a local disk]. Failing to do so, may result in repository corruption. " This us a big problem for me. Isnt there a way I can set subversion on shared drives. Is there a work around because availability is a major concern with local drives.

  • Why can't I 'justify' text that I have copied from PDF into MS Word?

    I find it really annoying that when I copy text that looks good in Adobe Reader into Word, the sentences which are left-aligned by default won't change accordingly when I press 'Justify'. The only way I could get the result I need is to press back-spaces and Delete key to align the right border. Why is this? Here's an example from the Word document. The text is right- and center-aligning perfectly but Justify does not seem to work.

So, this is what I merely need:- 1) ability to access files as if the HDDs are directly connected to the computer. I would like to implement a linux solution but I think I can't get hands on without understanding - very superficially - if I can achieve such result. My pc (hostname: test) gets a 192.168.1.7 from dhcp. Its dns server is my router (192.168.1.1). How can the router relate my ip change (as soon as the lease is over) to my hostname?

    I'm not sure whether this was the case right after the Trac installation or as the result of some misconfiguration. Below is a screecapture of a wikipage in the edit mode, where the standard WYSIWYG controls (expected to be present just above the text input in the left corner) are missing. In an attempt to solve the issue, TracWysiwygPlugin was installed, but this has not changed the situation. What could be the reason for missing WYSIWYG controls and how could it be fixed?

  • Synergy: Is there a way to push Win+L to all screens, not just the server?

    When I hit Win+L on either of my machines I'd ideally like to be able to lock both client and server What happens though is no matter which screen I hit the key combination... it locks the server.     I have antivirus service (Kaspersky) that occasionally becomes unresponsive to the normal stop/stop gui interface provided by said vendor. I would like to find a way to kill the service for a restart without rebooting, however all attempts I have tried result in failure with an 'Access is Denied' error.   • Synergy config being shared across computers

    For some reason, I'm unable to change where my synergy 1.3.1 profile data is being stored, with the result that when I start up, both computers end up reading it from the same shared file. Effectively this means that I'm ending up with both computers acting as clients or servers and both with the same name, until I change their profiles manually. Any advice? Thanks.

    I am using mysqldump for a large database (several GB) and import the result from a pipe, please see commands below, does it do incremental pipe, or wait until the first one finishes then import? is this a good way of importing large db across servers?
