• How can i keep a data table thorough out my page?

  Hii, I have a data table, and this datatable will be dynamically manipulated. After certain manipulation at the end we will populate that to the database. Which state mechanism can i use for this to retain. I have tried both Session and ViewState but ViewState can't use with AJAX rich appplications. Session will be clear after the user session. i can't afford both these difficulties. Does any other mechanism to keep the datatable through out the page.

  I have an html page that is generated by a CMS. I cannot modify the page, but can add JavaScript. Each time the page loads, a JavaScript function (that I cannot modify) dynamically inserts a paragraph onto the page. How can I use JQuery to .remove() that paragraph whenever it is loaded? For example, when the page first loads, it look like this (blank): <div></div> Then, a few seconds later, a JavaScript function (that I have no control over) adds a paragraph to the page. The page then looks like this: <div><p id="foo">bar</p></div> How can I use JQuery to remove the paragraph with id=foo each time it is dynamically loaded onto the page?

The problem is that when I click any page in the paging links, it gives me the search results of an empty serach term. • Is there anything like Zope Page Templates for Ruby on Rails?

  I have a Ruby on Rails app that I built myself, but which needs a redesign by a professional designer. I know most designers just give you Photoshop mockups and slices, but I would like to hire someone to implement the design as well, which means rewriting the css style sheets and the erb and haml templates. The problem is that I want someone else to implement the redesign without exposing my business logic code to the redesign implementer. Also, I wish there was a way to allow a designer to implement a redesign on a Ruby on Rails site without having to know anything about Ruby on Rails. Are either of these scenarios possible using any combination of software tools?   I want to build an online quiz test site. Suppose, exam will start at 10:00 am and a student login to give exam at 9:45 am. Whenever the student clicks 'Take Exam' button, he/she cannot not get access to the question paper because the exam time is 10:00 am and there are still 15 minutes before the exam start. Now I want to put some Javascript or PHP code that will prohibit the students to give exam earlier and if a students come early, it will show a stopwatch which display the remaining time before exam time and when the current time is equal to exam time then he/she will be directly redirected to the question paper page.

When the user clicks on mail i would like to have the download for which he opted to download. If msi means i would like to prompt msi file to be downloaded and if zip it should be downloaded I need this to be worked with out using query-string

  I am currently creating a page where upon clicking a link an iframe is inserted into a div and it's contents loaded. I do this using the following jQuery call: $('#mydiv').html('<iframe src="sourcelink.html" frameborder="0" width="760" height="2400" scrolling="no"></iframe>'); Sometimes the source content loads very slowly and, as a result, it looks like nothing is happening. I would like to have a simple loading animation while the content is loading while the iframe's content loads. When the iframe finishes loading it's content should pop in and the loading animation should go away. I've been considering a couple ways I could do this (e.g. having a separate loader div to simply swap the two in and out) but I'm not sure of what the 'best' approach to solving this problem is. Perhaps I shouldn't be using .html()? I'm open to suggestion if there is a more correct solution.

  Hi, I'm having trouble doing the following: I have a big PDF file that I converted to postscript (for commercial printing). The resulting file is too big to be processed by the printer (machine). I've been trying to find a way to either: Convert from the original (many pages) PDF file to many Postscript file (one postcript file per PDF page in original PDF file(. Convert from PDF to PS (or even EPS). - I managed to do this Then split the PS file into a collection of smaller files. I've tried using Ghostscript, but it is all gibberish to me. Thanks. PS. If you have a good GS tutorial (for dummies?), please share the link.

  Hi there, my situation is the following: I have a project with JSP, Struts and a lot of actions. Lets say that I have these 3 main groups {contacts.do, calendar.do and notes.do} with lot of actions in each of them. I have an action unrelated to all of them but since I didn't know where to put it I just chose contacts. My aim is after the action, to go back to the page I was but since the action is place in contacts it returns to the default action of contacts. Is there anything I could do for this purpose? • Using vim, how do you quickly refresh a web page you're working on?

  I've been using VIM for a few weeks now while messing with various web languages and I'm really enjoying it. I find it cumbersome having to tab or click into my browser and refresh the page to see the effect of a code change. It's even more annoying as I'm using Virtual Box and I tend to be working from PDF files on the host system so I have limited window space. Do you gurus have any fancy ways of doing this? I was wondering if it's possible to split the VIM workspace and have links/lynx in a window of its own or something to that effect?

I would like to do the following: User connects to editor.html (Apache2 with basic http auth) User want to open a file on the server with his user/pass (same as in passwd) Node.js Script gets startet with user rights from above and user can edit file The Node Script will handly the connection via websockets and read/writes files. I think the biggest problem is that its not possible to run a node script on the server from a web page... and I don´t want to involve any php/cgi scripts... only Apache and Node.js / JS. • Prevent hash navigation url

  I have the following problem: I'm using a slider (coda) to let people navigate trough some 'pages'. The slider uses hash links to navigate to the next page/slide. If a user is at page one (#page1), there is a link which will lead the user to page 2 (#page2) and so on. At the top of the slider the numbers of the pages appear as a link, but only when the page is visited. So if there are six pages and the user navigates from the first to the second and then the third one, there are only three links at the top of the slider (to page one, two and three). The problem is that a user can navigate to page five (or any page actually) without first visiting the pages previous to page five by just using the hash URL and typing the whole link in their address bar. For example if I would type www.mydomain.com/slider/index.php#page5 the slider automatically navigates to the fifth slide/page of the slider and thereby skipping the first four. I want to allow users to navigate to #page5 only if they have visited the first four (So by clicking trough the slides). This means that if they would go to #page5 directly by typing the URL in the address bar, I would like them to be send to the first page (#page1). Does anyone have any idea on solving this?

  I'm running into problems trying to pass absolute URIs as parameters with clean URLs enabled. I've got hook_menu() set up like this: function mymodule_menu() { return array( 'page/%' = array( 'title' = 'DBpedia Display Test', 'page callback' = 'mymodule_dbpedia_display', 'page arguments' = array(1), ), ); } and in the page callback: function mymodule_dbpedia_display($uri) { // Make an HTTP request for this URI // and then render some things return $output; } What I'm hoping to do is somehow pass full URIs (e.g. "http://dbpedia.org/resource/Coffee") to my page callback. I've tried a few things and nothing's worked so far... http://mysite.com/page/http%3A%2F%2Fdbpedia.org%2Fresource%2FCoffee Completely breaks Drupal's rewriting http://mysite.com/page/?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fdbpedia.org%2Fresource%2FCoffee Gives a 404 http://mysite.com/page/http://dbpedia.org/resource/Coffee Returns just "http:", which makes sense I could probably use $_GET to pull out the whole query string, but I guess I'm hoping for a more 'Drupal' solution. Any suggestions?

  My website works in Firefox - pages on the site load in the current tab, and links off site load a new tab. IE8 won't behave: target="_blank" opens a whole new window; the other options, _self _top _parent, all open the page in the current tab. I have Firefox set to "Open new windows in a new tab." The links to pages on my site all have target="_self" and Firefox keeps these in the current tab. On the external links I don't have a target set (I added _blank to see if it fixed IE8, and doing that didn't affect Firefox). I can't find an equivalent setting in IE8. Tools-Internet Options-General-Tabs/Settings has an enable tabs box, and a sub-option to automatically switch to newly opened tabs. Is there some html that will work? An IE8 setting I'm missing? Any help appreciated.
