  • Upgrading From EF 4x to 6 breaks everything

    Attempted to upgrade my project from EF4 to EF6, I get build errors It appears that if i swap out the namespaces manually to include the entity.core it works, but if i change the .edmx file at all, the code reverts back to the old references and i have to manually edit the code generation files to include the update namespace references. I have attempted to "add code generation item" that does not resolve the issue at all. When i open the .edmx file in the IDE it shows me everything correctly.

  • PHP: Fastest way possible to read contents of a file.

    Ok, I'm looking for the fastest possible way to read all of the contents of a file via php with a filepath on the server, also these files can be huge. So it's very important that it does a READ ONLY to it as fast as possible. Is reading it line by line faster than reading the entire contents? Though, I remember reading up on this some, that reading the entire contents can produce errors for huge files. Is this true?

    We provide a page where a student can provide his answer to a certain question. This information is obtained via an input text area box and we would prefer that the browser doesn't auto correct and indicate grammatical errors on the student responses (e.g. obey is correct but obay is wrong). The browser shows a red underline if there are grammatical mistakes. How do I prevent this across all browsers.

  • Grails: GGTS not running on Amazon AWS EC2 anyone else successful?

    Im just curious if anyone has had success trying to run the Groovy Grails tool suite on an Amazon AWS EC2 instance with its display exported into your windows machine. If so, I wanted to know which flavor of linux was used on the EC2. I am not having much success with it on the Amazon Linux but haven't tried their Ubuntu instances yet. I got all the way to getting GGTS installed and getting the display exported but when I launch GGTS I get log errors about libraries missing. This is most likely because I didn't use yum to install it so I am probably missing dependencies but I didn't have a choice its not offered as a yum package.     I have turned on warnings as errors and now i need to XML comment all of my public methods. just to get my program compiling, i just want to put placeholders for now. Is there anyway to automatically add XML comments to all of the public members in a class or a file. I see ghost doc which gives you good autogenerated XML comments but it still looks like it only does one member at a time.

  • Troubles with a PHP session variable after form submission

    Hello, I'm setting a PHP session variable with a success message for a HTML form that I'm submitting. If there are no form errors, I redirect to the same page (using header()) and display the message from the session variable. Everything is fine until here, but if I access that page again after submission, the message is still there. Is it possible to make it appear only when I redirect after a successful submit?     I'm trying to override the behavior of an external function in user32.dll because I don't want a certain window to show up. What I'm trying to do is this: [DllImport("user32.dll")] public extern override IntPtr GetSystemMenu(IntPtr hMenu, bool bRevert) { return new IntPtr(); } but this won't work because I get the following errors: ... no suitable method found to override and ... cannot be extern and declare a body Is there any way to simulate what I'm trying to do?

    I do something like UPDATE OR REPLACE someTable SET a=1, b=2 WHERE c=3 I expect if it doesnt exist it will be inserted into the DBs. But nothing happens and i get no errors. How can i insert data, replace it if it already exist and use a where for the condition (instead of replacing BC of a unique ID)

    Hi, Example code is included at the bottom of the message. I'm puzzled about the protected access specifier in a class. I have define a class node which has a protected string member name string name; and a vector of node pointers vector args; Before I thought that a member function of node could not do args[0]-name but a program that does just this does compile and run. However, now I would like to inherit this class and access the name field in one of the args array pointers from this derived class args[0]-name but this does not compile.     I'm new to Django and have some code in my views.py like this: try: myfunction() except: assert False, sys.exc_info()[0] This is very helpful because I get an email with lots of useful info if there's an error. The problem is that it also redirects the user to a Webfaction system error page. What I'd like to know is how do I still get the useful error email, but redirect the user to my own error page? Also, is this the best way to be handling errors in Django?

  • IoC Dependancy injection into Custom HTTP Module - how? (ASP.NET)

  • How do I change the build's SDK version in Xcode?

    I'm using Xcode 2.5 on Mac 10.4.11 PPC. javac -version returns 1.5.x yet when I imported my source code and tried to build it in Xcode, I get errors all over because generics, annotations, and for-each loops are not supported in -source 1.3. I thought I found the setting to change the source version in Xcode in the above but it doesn't work. Any ideas?

  • Windows MAchine Debugging

    I've been learning how to program for Windows for some time now and am getting pretty comfy with COM. I had thought to go over to Linux and do some C++ programming there and I wished to run Rosetta Commons so I installed Fedora. I had tried installing Ubuntu a few months ago and things got messy. I had a glitch, maybe caused by one of the live cd creators, my video card or something I don't know. Who Crashed suggested it was my video card and I had regular messages about ntfs.sys and page file issues. At any rate I just installed Fedora and the same thing is happening again. I would like to think with the twenty five years of doing this that I might finally make some headway into debugging my system. I think I may have overlooked a lot of what could be done in favor of simply uninstalling, reinstalling and formatting and starting from scratch. I have opened up the folder windows debugging tools, quite accidentally and just before I was going to clean sweep again, and I found KD and WinDbg. I had never seen these before and I felt that maybe I should look into this. I am quite familiar with the modern machine that is known as the computer, I know what a Kernel is and am now pretty familiar with at the very least Windows Operating System Services. I wish to begin tracking my own machines errors. I understand that most kernel debugging is done on a second machine but I don't have one. And also I understand the goal of the debugger seems to be less about run of the mill errors and more about development time strategies but I'm sure there is more to this. This is my first go at this and I thought maybe I could get some suggestions on where to go from here. I would really like to learn ways to fix my machine and also maybe pick up some tricks on the dev side as well. I hope this isn't too broad a question or too generalized. I'm really just looking for the keywords and an overview of the more routine strategies used. thx

  • Tomcat 6 is really UNSTABLE when redeploying web apps

    Do you know how to make it more stable, maybe properties to set, memory to allocate? It always hangs up when redeploying web apps, thru manager (wars), web interface or maven plugin. every second time it gives PermGenSpace, no memory errors etc. on my local machine 3gb ram. It looks like it should be manually set up to work in a stable way. How to fix such a problem?
