    I am from a Java background and is learning C++. I encountered the following C++ code: String source = String::New("'Hello' + ', World'"); As what I understand so far, this should be a call to static member function 'New' of class 'String'. But, I've searched through the whole header file defining 'String', there is not any static member named 'New' in the String class or its super classes. Is there any special meaning attached to String class or the New member function in C++?

    I'm learning Chinese at the moment and I have gotten my hand on a Chinese dictionary definition. Now I would like to make an interface. All I really want the application to do is when I point my mouse pointer over any text on the screen (in any window), it would identify the text I am pointing at and then display a small form over it, which would the chinese transaction. Is that possible to do? Can WinForms apps interact with windows outside of it's own application?

    Hello, I am learning Cocoa and trying to create an application for Mac that displays a simple book list. Each book is an NSView with its cover image, title and author. I want to present this list as a NSTableView with a single column and a book view in each cell.   • TFS 2010: Is MSBuild going to be dead because of Windows Workflow?

    MSBuild in TFS 2010 has been replaced by Windows Workflow 4.0. It means when you are creating a Build Definition, you won't have a TFSBuild.proj to edit instead you must edit a workflow to customize your build. BTW am I correct if I say Microsoft is not supporting MSBuild in TFS 2010 and learning MSBuild as a TFS 2010 Team Build administrator doesn't worth? And another more question: Is microsoft going to replace Visual Studio Projects' language from MSBuild to something like Windows Workflow? Many Thanks

    Hello all, Since a few months I've been learning Erlang, and now it was time to do some basic GUI. After some quick research I saw there was an interesting library called 'wxi' (based on Fudgets of Haskell) which uses a different approach on GUI's. No central loop, every widget processes it's own events and handles it's own data. What do you guys think about this?   • OpenID: Trying to Get Email Address from Google OP

    I’m using dotnetopenauth 3.2 to implement Openid and can’t figure out how to get Google to pass the email address in the Claims Response. I know that Google doesn’t support simple registration, but I can’t determine what they do support. Caveat to this question is that I just started learning OpenID and I know I don’t have a solid grasp on the specification which I think is leading to my confusion. Any help would be appreciated!
