    In VB.NET type this on a new line: DateAdd( Shouldn't a dropdown picklist of enum values appear? It used to! I miss it! Of course, this is just one example where an enum pick list does not appear where it did before. Can anyone defend this or is it a bug?

  • I set a global bug catcher in my application for unhandled exceptions and it is picking up all exceptions

    I am trying to figure out why this is happing. In my vb.net application I set a global handler in the ApplicationEvents.vb which I thought would only pick up any unhandled exceptions, although it is picking up every exception that happens in my application whether or not they are handled with try catch blocks.   • Map a property in the entity framework to a different type

    I have a SQL Server 2008 database. I have a bunch of fields in TableA that are just strings that corresponds to booleans. So every value is either true or false. The edmx I generated using Entity Framework 4.0 has them as strings. This is technically correct but I would like to have them mapped as Booleans instead. Is this possible? If so how can I accomplish this? Thanks much!

  • Stylesheets loading but styles not showing...

    Hi- I have a website I created in VS2010 and am trying to run with IIS7. My website starts in all major browsers but for some reason the styles are not applied even though I've confirmed using Firebug that the stylesheets have indeed loaded. Also, when I use the inspect tool to click on an element, I can see in the right-side box the specific styles that are supposed to be applied. I thought this might be a permissions issue but I think I've got those set properly. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    The situation: I need to create about 40+ solutions that all reference 3 projects and have one project that is unique to each one. I'd like to create a multi-project template that does this, but from what I've read it looks like it's very difficult or impossible (related SO question, but doesn't answer). I want my solution to look like this (names changed of course): These three are used by all solutions created under this "family": MyCompany.Extensions MyCompany.MyProject.Tests.Shared MyCompany.MyProject.Scripts This one is the one that makes the solution unique, 123, 124, 125 etc: MyCompany.MyProject.Tests.Unit123 Is it possible to set up a multi-project template that will generate this structure?   • VS2010 (older) installer project - two or more objects have the same target location.

    This installer project was created back in 2004 and upgraded ever since. There are two offending dll files, which produce a total of 4 errors. I have searched online for this warning message and did not find a permanent fix (I did manage to make it go away once until I have done something like a clean, or built in Release, and then in Debug). I also tried cleaning, and then refreshing the dependencies. The duplicated entries are still in there. I also did not find a good explanation for what this error means. Additional warnings are of this nature: Warning 36 The version of the .NET Framework launch condition '.NET Framework 4' does not match the selected .NET Framework bootstrapper package. Update the .NET Framework launch condition to match the version of the .NET Framework selected in the Prerequisites Dialog Box. So, where is this prerequisites box? I want to make both things agree on .Net 4.0, just having a hard time locating both of them.

I want to implement a functionality like when the user clicks on the textbox, a list should be made available to the user and then the item selected from the list should be filled in the textbox. The list should not be available if some other control is focussed other than the textbox. What would be the better way to do this? Should I implement the list in the same form as the textbox or should I use another form for the list? I want to implement a functionality like in the Tally Accounting Software.

  • Several different project types in solution use same class. Where can I place this class?

    I have one solution with 3 related projects: 1) a Windows console app that reads data and stores it to a mssql DB, 2) WCF service that will retrieve from mssql data, 3) website that will read from the WCF. There could be other projects in the future. The first two projects (and any related future projects) use a Sqlhelper class. Should I create a separate project for it? The most ideal one would be a class library, but I don't know if a WCF invoking a DLL is correct. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
