• How entity edit URL from within plug-in in MS Dyanmics CRM 4.0

  I would like to have a workflow create a task, then email the assigned user that they have a new task and include a link to the newly created task in the body of the email. I have client side code that will correctly create the edit URL, using the entities GUID and stores it in a custom attribute. However, when the task is created from within a workflow, the client script isn't run. So, I think a plug-in should work, but I can't figure out how to determine the URL of the CRM installation. I'm authoring this in a test environment and definitely don't want to have to change things when I move to production. I'm sure I could use a config file, but seems like the plug-in should be able to figure this out at runtime. Anyone have any ideas how to access the URL of the crm service from within a plug-in? Any other ideas? Thanks!

  I'm trying to loop trough Atom feed entries, and get the title attribute lets say, I found this article, I tried this snipped of code : for (final Iterator iter = feeds.getEntries.iterator(); iter.hasNext(); ) { element = (Element)iter.next(); key = element.getAttributeValue("href"); if ((key != null) && (key.length() > 0)) { marks.put(key, key); } } But I get exception saying : java.lang.ClassCastException: com.sun.syndication.feed.synd.SyndEntryImpl cannot be cast to org.jdom.Element at com.emir.altantbh.FeedReader.main(FeedReader.java:47) What did I do wrong? can anyone direct me towards better tutorial or show me where did I make mistake, I need to loop trough entries and extract title tag value. thank you

• Facebook Connect Post Feed from iPhone App without preview Broken!? URGENT!

  Hello All: I just downloaded the latest FBConnect build, popped in my keys and getting a mysterious hanging error only when I try to post a feed without previewing (setting preview to zero). The activity indicated disappears and the blank dialog window just hangs there. (This mirrors what I was getting on the app I was developing). If I try to post a feed with preview it works; set preview to zero it just hangs. Again; thats with the sample project "Publish Feed" button. Hitting getting permission button and then Publish Feed does same thing...... Other Developers have confirmed seeing this too...Apps that have previously had working feed posts have been broken for weeks. Discussions on facebook connect forum seem to be related to this. • Invoke an action that is using ASP.NET MVC [Authorize] from outside the application

  Is this possible? I'd like to expose a URL (action) such as http://mysever/myapp/UpdateHeartbeat/. In my MVC application it looks like [Authorize] [AcceptsVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] public ActionResult UpdateHeartbeat() { // update date in DB to DateTime.Now } Now, in my MVC application the user has logged in via FORMS authentication and they can execute that action to their hearts content. What I want to do, is hit that URL progromatically (as part of an API that I wouldl like to build) -- is there a way I can do that without removing the [Authorize] attribute and adding username/password as parameters to the POST?

• How to deal with presence or not of xml namespaces using xslt.

  I have some XML/TEI documents, and i'm writing an XSLT 2.0 to extract their content. Almost all TEI documents has no namespace, but one has the default namespace (xmlns="http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0"). So all documents has the same aspect, with unqulified tags like <TEI> or <teiHeader>, but if I try to extract the content, all works with "non-namespaced-documents", but nothing (of course) is extracted from the namespaced-document. So i used the attribute xpath-default-namespace="http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0" and now (of course) the only document working is the namespaced one. I can't edit documents at all, so what I'm asking is if there's a way to change dynamically the xpath-default-namespace in order to make work xpaths like //teiHeader both with namespaced and non-namespaced documents

  hi, I just started working with ASP.Net MVC 2. I created a new ASP.Net MVC application and created one vehicle controler with a database table connected with LINQ. Then created forms authentication mechanism for the application and tried to use the uri instead of cookies it was working smoothly but when i submit the form by creating a "Create" view from the controler using the utility it just dont work. The autherization got failed and asking to enter the user name and password again.I had created the authorization mechanism by adding Authorise attribute to the Controller so as to get authorized for all the actions. namespace MVCNEW.Controllers { [Authorize] public class VehicleController : Controller { But if i use the cookies instead of uri it works fine. • extracting secrets from an embedded chip

  I am looking at an embedded system where secrets are stored in flash that is internal to the chip package, and there is no physical interface to get that information out - all access to this flash is policed by program code. All DMA attacks and JTAG and such are disabled. This seems to be a common locked-down configuration for system-on-a-chip. How might an attacker recover the secrets in that Flash? I understand they can fuzz for vulnerabilities in the app code and exploit it, that there could be some indistinct general side channel attack or something. But how would an attacker really go about trying to recover those keys? Are there viable approaches for a determined attacker to somehow shave-down the chip or some kind of microscope attack?

  In the context of "Keys and Entity Groups" article by google: http://code.google.com/appengine/docs/python/datastore/transactions.html 1) "Only use entity groups when they are needed for transactions" 2) "Every entity belongs to an entity group, a set of one or more entities that can be manipulated in a single transaction." It seems like entity groups exist only for the use of transactions, i.e. making one transaction possible between all entities in a group. My question is then why are there parent-child relations between entities and not just a simple declaration of entities to be in a single group (that is defining A,B,C to be in the same group as opposed to defining relations between them "A (parent of) B, B (parent of C)"). What is the benefit from using parent-child relation model when the only purpose is for entities to be in the same group to make transaction possible? Thanks Joel

  Hi I need to verify in my WPF application if the user log in to his computer via password or via smart-card. Both login options are available in my company clients but my application need to open only in the smart-card login. All the clients are windows 7 OS. Sometimes im passing null (or an empty string) in that object index and it is telling me that it cant be converted properly to a DateTime (in this case). My question is what should I default this value to, or is there some way to have the DataTable ignore empty values.

Reading Mozillas documentation, omitting the autobuffer attribute should result in the audio src not being requested: if specified, the audio will automatically begin being downloaded, even if not set to automatically play. This continues until the media cache is full, or the entire audio file has been downloaded, whichever comes first However, on the server side I notice the files are being requested anyway. • Window Size when SizeToContent is not specified

  When the following XAML used, the window size is not 5000x5000, but some small window where the button is cropped. <Window x:Class="WpfApplication1.Window1" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="Window1" > <Button Width="5000" Height="5000">XXX</Button> </Window> From what I can tell, size I did not specify the SizeToContent attribute, the default is "Manual", so it will use *size of a window is determined by other properties, including Width, Height, MaxWidth, MaxHeight, MinWidth, and MinHeight. * From the WPF Windows Overview, it seems those other properties are FrameworkElement::MinHeight/Width, and FrameworkElement::MaxHeight. But since the default for the Mins are 0, the Maxs are Infinity and the Width/Height is Nan....what's going on? Where is WPF getting the window size? Any pointers to the right direction would be appreciated.

• what's the story with the android XML namespace?

  When you first use a name from the android XML namespace, you have to say where to find it, with an attribute in XML like this: <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" However, that URL is a 404 - nothing found there. The android: namespace is actually included under the locally-installed SDK. So what's going on here? Why do I need to include a dead URL? Why doesn't the build system pick it up from the SDK like all the other libraries? Thanks, just looking for the back story on this. Peter

  From within the setup_app function (websetup.py) of a pylons i18n application, which is making use of a db, I was trying to initiate multilingual content to be inserted into the db. To do so the idea was something like: necessary imports here def setup_app(command, conf, vars): .... for lang in langs: set_lang(lang) content=model.Content() content.content=_('content') Session.add(content) Session.commit() Unfortunately it seems that it doesn't work. the set_lang code line is firing an exception as follows: File ".. i18n/translation.py", line 179, in set_lang translator = _get_translator(lang, **kwargs) File ".. i18n/translation.py", line 160, in _get_translator localedir = os.path.join(rootdir, 'i18n') File ".. /posixpath.py", line 67, in join elif path == '' or path.endswith('/'): AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'endswith' Actually I'm even not sure it could be possible launching i18n mechanisms from within this setup_app function without an active request object. Anyone has tried some trick on a similar story ?

  Hello, I made a VBS script that imports users and creates a Contact Objects everything working OK till I found that users does not appear in the GAL (Global Address List) looking around I found that I need to use the attribute (showInAddressBook) I tried to use it but I get some errors (Null ......) but my supplied inputs are not empty and I have a checking function before sending the inputs to showInAddressBook so what should I use in there? I used the users names, but it did not work also the users are externals (just to use them in our GAL) they have different emails than our normal users any idea on what should I use with showInAddressBook ? cheers

• Generate non-identity primary key

  My workplace doesn't use identity columns or GUIDs for primary keys. Instead, we retrieve "next IDs" from a table as needed, and increment the value for each insert. Unfortunatly for me, LINQ-TO-SQL appears to be optimized around using identity columns. So I need to query and update the "NextId" table whenever I perform an insert. For simplicity, I do this immediately creating the new object. Since all operations between creation of the data context and the call to SubmitChanges are part of one transaction, do I need to create a separate data context for retrieving next IDs? Each time I need an ID, I need to query and update a table inside a transaction to prevent multiple apps from grabbing the same value. Is a separate data context the only way, or is there something better I could try?

• Any way to separate unit tests from integration tests in VS2008?

  I have a project full of tests, unit and integration alike. Integration tests require that a pretty large database be present, so it's difficult to make it a part of the build process simply because of the time that it takes to re-initialize the database. Is there a way to somehow separate unit tests from integration tests and have the build server just run the unit tests? I see that there is an Ordered Unit test in VS2008, which allows you to pick and choose tests, but I can't make it just execute alone, without all the others. Is there a trick that I am missing? Or perhaps I could adorn the unit tests with an attribute? What are some of the approaches people are using? P.S. I know I could use mocking for integration tests (just to make them go faster) but then it wouldn't be a true integration test.

  so im having problems with adding another primary key to my table. i have 3 columns: 1. Account ID (Identity) 2. EmailID 3. Data field when i made the table i had this to make the Account ID and the Email ID unique PRIMARY KEY (AccountID, EmailID) i thought that would make my emailid unique, but then after i tried inserting another row with the same emailid it went through. so i thought i missed something out. now for my question: IF, i had to use alter, How do i alter the table/PK Constraint to modify the EmailID field and make it Unique IF i decided to drop the table and made a new one, how do i make those two primary keys uniqe? To invoke the update action the URL must contain a Parameter called type with the appropriate value. I am not too sure if that is really RESTful design. • How to move an element in a sorted list and keep the CouchDb write "atomic"

  I have elements of a list in couchdb documents. Let's say these are 3 elements in 3 documents: { "id" : "783587346", "type" : "aList", "content" : "joey", "sort" : 100.0 } { "id" : "358734ff6", "type" : "aList", "content" : "jill", "sort" : 110.0 } { "id" : "abf587346", "type" : "aList", "content" : "jack", "sort" : 120.0 } A view retrieves all "aList" documents and displays them sorted by "sort". Now I want to move the elements, when I want to move "jack" to the middle, I could do this atomic in one write and change it's sort key to 105.0. The view now returns the documents in the new sort order. After a lot of sorting I could end up with sort keys like 50.99999 and 50.99998 after some years and in extreme situations run out of digits? What can you recommend, is there a better way to do this? I'd rather keep the elements in seperate documents. Different users might edit different elements in parallel (which also can get tricky). Maybe there is a much better way?

  I found the following statement: Map is an object that stores key/volume pairs. Given a key, you can find its value. Keys must be unique, but values may be duplicated. For example I have just one key/value pair (3,4). And now I put a new pair (3,5). It will remove the old pair. Right? But if I put (2,4) instead of (3,4) I will add a new pair of key/value to the HashMap. Right?
