However, whenever I mount a Truecrypt Volume and double-click that, it looks like this: Is there any way to default to the first view option for all types of folders? I tried view options in Finder, but it didn't seem to work.

  Clients that have been reporting their state fine suddenly start reporting "Windows 0.0" for their OS and "Not yet contacted" for their Last Contacted date even though previously these values were present and correct.   hostname -f says "hostname: the specified hostname is invalid". The hostname (FQDN) specified in /etc/hostname is also listed in /etc/hosts and is pingable. No actual DNS server yet of the host knows. Is this a reason of the error reported or something else? (the OS is Ubuntu 10.04 Server). Update: registering the host at a DNS server (so that the name can be successfully resolved via Internet) did not help.

  Hi everyone, I am running a Windows Server 2003 OS and am noticing that no one is able to connect to the machine through Remote Desktop. I have gone through the Terminal Services Configuration to make sure that we had the RDP-Tcp connection enabled and I've checked to see that the server was listening to port 3389. Are there any other options since I've tried to ping into our host server with no results. Thanks in advance.

  Is there any way to get rid of the drop down cc bcc reply-to etc. field menu in the compose new message window in Mail in Mac OS X Snow Leopard? The offending menu is the one immediately to the left of the Subject field when composing a new message, and it interrupts me as I try to tab from To: to Subject: to the message body.   INFORMIX-SE 7.2: I would like to dedicate a hard disk, exclusively for my dbname.dbs directory which holds all the .dat and .idx files, and create a ramdisk for my /tmp temporary files in order to improve performance. I would also like to strip down the OS from any unecessary files and processes to minimize overhead for my dedicated application. Is this a good idea and are there any roadmaps for accomplishing this?

If put in a hibernate, it wakes up normally, but if turned of completely, after turning on there is no "beep" sound from BIOS and HD lamp blinks for a while then stops. When I hit reset in that state, it bots normally. What is going on and how could I fix it?

  I have a nice little USB light which has no off switch, it is 'on' for the duration of being plugged in. My question is, is there a way of disabling the USB port so as to turn off the light while it is still plugged in? Preferably, this could be done from the command line, but if it's possible at all that would be really cool regardless. I use Mac and Linux, but am interested to learn if this is possible in any OS, or if physical hardware prevents usage like this.
