  • Has anyone seen this h:commandLink behavior?

    I have a very simple JSF form: <h:form id="simpleSearch"> <h:inputText id="surname" value="#{myBean.surname}" required="true" /> <h:commandLink>Search</h:commandLink> </h:form> When this page is rendered, the anchor that is generated looks like this (for brevity, I stripped out the generated onclick code): Search<a href="#" onclick="..."></a> As you can see, the "Search" is outside the anchor and the anchor body is empty. This is useless to me. I can't use this. Are there any suggestions/references/miracles out there to help me fix/understand what is going on here? Thanks!

    Hallo, I have a modal Form, used for searching information in DB. This Form is used by a COM object, that waits for search result. Initialization of the form take a lot of time (because of building connection to DB). So, I initialize the Form (without showing it), and keep Form-object alive, as long as COM-object work. In this way I keep the state of the Form: public void Search() this.ShowDialog(); string result = this.ResultOfSearch; this.Hide() return result; And it doesn't work anymore on VS2010 (compiled for Framework 2.0). I search for alternative way to make a modal form (or a method to protect a form against Destroy() at the end of ShowDialog). Any ideas?

    I'm creating a search page on our SharePoint site that will allow users to find results from a SQL table by either performing a search from a text box @Param1, or selecting a value from a dropdown @SiteParam. My SQL SelectStatement is SELECT * FROM [Routing] WHERE [Site] LIKE CASE WHEN @Param1 IS NOT NULL THEN '%' + @Param1 + '%' ELSE @SiteParam This works great in SQL when I declare the parameters and set values for the search, but not so much in SharePoint. I've been able to get it to work if I don't do the case and just use 1 of the parameters, but I haven't found a way to get it to do either of them. Any help is appreciated! Thanks

  • BATCH - wait for executable to finish before starting next result

    I'm pretty much a noob at this, so any help is appreciated. I'm trying to run the video transcoding executable REDline on all .R3D files in a given folder. REDline only accepts single files, which is the issue. I finally got it to search recursively for the files I need, but my problem is the search function passes the next result to REDline before the first one is finished transcoding. I have the search results that need to run in a variable inside REDline. Here's the code: for /r D:\folder\ %%a in (*) do ( "C:/Program Files/REDCINE-X PRO 64-bit/REDLine.exe" --exportPreset "Prores_Intermediate" --i "%%~dpnxa" --useRSX 2 --masterRMDFolder "" -s 0 -e 95 ) After about .7 seconds, REDline reports 'received stop message from client'. I don't think this is a REDline error, as I have been able to transcode single files successfully. Thanks.

    i saw a trick in a book: in a linux shell, we can use &? to get the return value of a command. For example,we run a command,if it exit normally, the return value is 0. And then we type $?,we will get 0 in the screen. i want to google this kind of usage, so i have to type these two symbol $? in the search blank.But the search engine just return nothing to me... i have looked at the google help page, but still can't find a solution. so my question is: how can i search with this kind of keyword. or if you can give me some advise of the usage of $? or sort of thing, that will be also appreciated.

    Ok I know little about SQL so bare with me... I'm trying to see if certain values exist in a third level table and I don't know how to go about it. Here is the scenario... I have a Accident table that holds accident information. It has 3 one-to-many child tables (Units, Occupants, NonMotorists). An each of those child tables have their own many-to-many child table (Alcohol). I need to be able to have some way of seeing if a range of values exists in a field in those Alcohol tables.     I'm using the following code to post to the server which is then sent to a MYSQL query to find matches via search. $.ajax({ url: '/search/spotlight/', data: "q=" + $(this).val(), success: function(data) { } }); When Q's val has spaces in it, it's creating problems. I'm wondering if I'm handling this correctly? Do I need to encode the value in the AJAX call? Or is this a problem on my backend, which is ColdFusion Right now JQUERY is posting the following to the server: /search/spotlight/?q=FirstName%20LastName is this right?

    I know that using GitHub I can search through all the current versions of my files in a repo. However, I would also like to search through the older versions of my repo files. For example, say, I used to have a function called get_info() in my code, but deleted it several versions ago, is it possible to search for get_info and find the code. If it is not possible using GitHub, is it possible from the git command line? EDIT Thanks to @Mark Longair for showing how this can be done from the git command line. If it's not possible in GitHub it would be a great feature to have.

Right now, by default it shows the Name of the business and the address. How can I disable the business link? And then add more text to each search result?

    I ran a C++ program in Xcode, and encountered a warning of "Control may reach end of non-void function". Here is the code: Node* search(Node* head, int x) { if(!head) return NULL; else if(x == head->key) return head; else if(x < head->key) search(head->lchild, x); else search(head->rchild, x); } I got the same warning when compiling it in Linux, but got the correct result. But in Xcode, the result was wrong. By the way, I got the correct answer and no warning in Visual Studio.

    Hi, I'm starting Android doing an application for searching restaurants, and some guidance would be welcome! On the first screen I'd like to have a search field with a submit button (I get the data from a web service), and below a list with the results of the search. When clicking on one of the items of the list it will show a screen with the restaurant details as well as a map showing its location. My questions are: Can I do everything in one single activity or should I do an activity for the search, one for the result list, one for the restaurant description, and another for the map? Would doing one single activity make the application more responsive? How can I use a list and a map within a normal activity (without ListActivity and MapActivity)?   • Same script, working on a site, not working on the other!

    Hello, First of all I apologize in advance for this question, a bit off the rang of stackoverflow, but I've spend a day trying to solve that issue and I'm totally stuck. The issue: The search function of my script (php) works perfectly fine on one host but not on the other. If you search something here : edu-cafe.com, you'll get a result, just as it should be. However, try a search on this site, hosted somewhere else : code-reduc.com, exact same script, files and datable, and it just hang. I've asked both the host and the original programmer of the script to look at the issue but they can't seem to find an answer...     Hello. My problem is, I need to cURL-load a page that uses Ajax-based search, to get results of that search. And I need to organize a delay between curl_exec() and value returning. In other words, I need to execute curl_exec() for no less than 5 seconds. sleep() seems to stop curl execution and does not work. Will greatly appreciate any hint or clue UPD I don't know how, but on this page http://vkontakte.ru/gsearch.php?section=video&q=sample&name=1, but it requires an account to access curl DOES capture the search made by ajax. But if page tooks too long to load, Ajax returns "action was too fast" error. So I just need to prolong curl execution. Sorry if being unclear.

    I have an application where I create a big SQL query dynamically for SQL server 2008. This query is based on various search criteria which the user might give such as search by lastname, firstname, ssn etc. The requirement is that if the user gives a condition due to which the formed query might return a lot of rows(configurable for max N rows), then the application must send back a message instead to the user saying that he needs to refine his search query as the existing query will return too many rows. I would not want to bring back say, 5000 rows to the client and then discard that data just to show the user an error. What is an efficient way to tackle this issue?

    Do search engines treat the alt text of an image placed within an h1 tag the same way they would treat regular text placed in an h1 tag? I gave a search through here looking for an answer to this question, but was only able to find information on image replacement and the infamous h1 debate. For example would: <h1><img src="#" alt="Contact Us" /></h1> Act the same as: <h1>Contact Us</h1> In the electronic eye of a search engine? This seems considerably less "CSS Hacky" than other image replacement techniques like negative text indents, display:none, height:0, or ridiculous z-index integers.

  • aspx page with gridview runs very fast in IE but 20% of the speed on Firefox

    Hi there I have a simple aspx page with some search options which queries an SQLEXpress database, and it is displayed in a gridview. For some reason, it runs lightning fast in IE but very slow in Firefox. It has very little code, a gridview a couple of images and a couple of textboxes and a search button. It was done with Expression Web so no additional code added. In production (not local) the speed is very noticiable when doing a search... IE displays the results almost instantly...Firefox might take 3-5 seconds. And everything else runs super fast as well in IE (update, delete etc). Is there a reason for this ? Thanks
