  • Return back to the parent activity from subactivity

    - by ZelluX
    My application supports twitter and needs to open browser for OAuth. When the user clicks the Share on Twitter button, the main activity will create another subactivity (TwitterActivity) to handle twitter authentication issues. Here is a flow graph showing how activities are invoked currently. Main is short for MainActivity and Twit for TwitterActivity. startActivity() OAuth intent OAuth callback finish() Main ---------------> Twit ------------> Browser --------------> Twit --------> Browser As you may notice, after the TwitterActivity calls finish() to stop, it will now return back to MainActivity, but Browser instead. How can I make it return back to MainActivity? Many thanks

  • Stop Child Elements from Inheriting Parent Style, Broken Tabs Javascript

    - by WillingLearner
    I am using the flowplayer jquery tabs plugin: http://flowplayer.org/tools/tabs/index.html Im having mucho difficulty when placing my child elements inside the panes divs, and stopping them from inheriting the style of the container pane div. Its breaking my layout to pieces and i need to know how to override the style and just keep the container panes div only to itself. Also, im having a devil of a time trying to call 2 different sets of tabs and panes. Im not getting the classes and IDs right, the javascript, or something along those lines. How would i set this up so i can call (tabs A / panes A) and then (tabs B / panes B), css wise, and javascript wise? My current javascript is: <!-- This JavaScript snippet activates the tabs --> <script> // perform JavaScript after the document is scriptable. $(function() { // setup ul.tabs to work as tabs for each div directly under div.panes $("ul.tabs").tabs("div.panes1 > div"); //$("ul.tabs.myprofile").tabs("div.panes > div"); }); </script> This only works for 1 set of tabs and panes on a page. Dosent help me much if i want to call 2 totally different sets. Ive gone over the documentation many times but im still not getting it. Please help me find a solution to BOTH of my problems. Thanks.

  • MVC 2 - Name Attributes on HTML Input Field when using Parent/Child Entities

    - by Click Ahead
    Hi All, I'm pretty new to MVC 2 using the Entity Framework. I have two tables Company {ID int identity PK,Name nvarchar} and User {ID int identity PK,UserName nvarchar,CompanyID int FK}. A Foreign Key exists between User and Company. I generated my ADO.NET Entity Data Model, a Controller and a view to insert a record. My HTML form has the fields Company and UserName and the idea is when I click save a Company and User is inserted into the database. Sounds straight forward right! My question is as follows: I created a strongly-typed view derived from my 'User' entity. I'm using the the html helper Html.TextBoxFor(model = model.Organisation.Name) but the html name attribute for this input field is 'Organisation.Name'. My problem with this is that the dot throws up all sorts of issues in JQuery, which sees this as a property. If I want to change the name I read that I can use DataAnnotations but because I used the Entity Designer this involves using Buddy Classes. Seems like a bit of overkill just to change the html name attribute on this input field. Am I approaching this the right way or am I missing something here? Thanks for the help !

  • remove parent xml tag

    - by cru3l
    For example, we have xml file with this format: <A> <B> <C></C> <D></D> <D></D> </B> </A> i need that: if all "D"-tags elements are empty, then we need to delete whole "A"-tag element and, of course, we need to do this with all "A"-tags in xml.

  • return false for parent javascript function

    - by jeerose
    $("#purchaser_contact").live('submit', function(){ $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: 'ajax/contactSearch.php', data: ({ fname: $("#fname").val(), lname: $("#lname").val(), city: $("#city").val(), state: $("#state").val() }), success: function(d) { var obj = JSON.parse( d ); if(obj.result != 0){ $("#contactSearch").remove(); $("#button-wrapper").before('<div id="contactSearch">' + obj.result + '</div>'); $("#contactSearch").slideToggle('slow'); //return false from submit!! }); }); I know there are other posts on this but I couldn't figure out how to apply them properly to my situation without making it messy. How do I return false on the submit event to prevent the form from submitting if I'm within the $.ajax and success functions? Thanks.

  • Catching the Facebook Login Event to change the HTML of the parent page

    - by Arkid
    I am trying to create Facebook based login using Javascript. Once a person clicks a button he should get a div replaced by another div, if he is logged in to Facebook. However, if he is not logged in to Facebook he is asked his Facebook credentials and he logs in. However, we need the user to click the button once more for the div replacement to happen in this case. I want to know if there is a way in which I can catch the Facebook login event and change the div? Is polling a way or there is some other way out. I want to use only Javascript.

  • JPA concatenating table names for parent/child @OneToMany

    - by Robert
    We are trying to use a basic @OneToMany relationship: @Entity @Table(name = "PARENT_MESSAGE") public class ParentMessage { @Id @Column(name = "PARENT_ID") @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.IDENTITY) private Integer parentId; @OneToMany(fetch=FetchType.LAZY) private List childMessages; public List getChildMessages() { return this.childMessages; } ... } @Entity @Table(name = "CHILD_MSG_USER_MAP") public class ChildMessage { @Id @Column(name = "CHILD_ID") @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.IDENTITY) private Integer childId; @ManyToOne(optional=false,targetEntity=ParentMessage.class,cascade={CascadeType.REFRESH}, fetch=FetchType.LAZY) private ParentMessage parentMsg; public ParentMessage getParentMsg() { return parentMsg; } ... } ChildMessage child = new ChildMessage(); em.getTransaction().begin(); ParentMessage parentMessage = (ParentMessage) em.find(ParentMessage.class, parentId); child.setParentMsg(parentMessage); List list = parentMessage.getChildMessages(); if(list == null) list = new ArrayList(); list.add(child); em.getTransaction().commit(); We receive the following error. Why is OpenJPA concatenating the table names to APP.PARENT_MESSAGE_CHILD_MSG_USER_MAP? Of course that table doesn't exist.. the tables defined are APP.PARENT_MESSAGE and APP.CHILD_MSG_USER_MAP Caused by: org.apache.openjpa.lib.jdbc.ReportingSQLException: Table/View 'APP.PARENT_MESSAGE_CHILD_MSG_USER_MAP' does not exist. {SELECT t1.CHILD_ID, t1.PARENT_ID, t1.CREATED_TIME, t1.USER_ID FROM APP.PARENT_MESSAGE_CHILD_MSG_USER_MAP t0 INNER JOIN APP.CHILD_MSG_USER_MAP t1 ON t0.CHILDMESSAGES_CHILD_ID = t1.CHILD_ID WHERE t0.PARENTMESSAGE_PARENT_ID = ?} [code=30000, state=42X05]

  • Problems finding classes in namespace and testing extend expected parent

    - by Matt
    So I am in the process of building a site in ASP.Net MVC, and in the process I am adding certain things to my Site.Master I want to make sure that all of my model classes extend a certain base class that contains all of the pieces the Site.Master needs to be operable. I want to test to make sure this assumption isn't broken (I believe this will save me time when I forget about it and can't figure out why a new combination isn't working.) I wrote a test that I thought would help with this, but I am running into two problems. First it isn't finding the one example model class I have so far in the LINQ call all of a sudden, I am admittedly still a bit new to LINQ. Second, I had it finding the class earlier, but I couldn't get it to verify that the class inherits from the base class. Here is the example test. [Test] public void AllModelClassesExtendAbstractViewModel() { var abstractViewModelType = typeof (AbstractViewModel); Assembly baseAssembly = Assembly.GetAssembly(abstractViewModelType); var modelTypes = baseAssembly.GetTypes() .Where(assemblyType => (assemblyType.Namespace.EndsWith("Models") && assemblyType.Name != "AbstractViewModel")) .Select(assemblyType => assemblyType); foreach (var modelType in modelTypes) { Assert.That(modelType.IsSubclassOf(abstractViewModelType), Is.True , modelType.Name + " does not extend AbstractViewModel"); } }

  • Android passing an arraylist back to parent activity

    - by Nicklas O
    Hi there. I've been searching for a simple example of this with no luck. In my android application I have two activities: 1. The main activity which is launched at startup 2. A second activity which is launched by pressing a button on the main activty. When the second activity is finished (by pressing a button) I want it to send back an ArrayList of type MyObject to the main activity and close itself, which the main activity can then do whatever with it. How would I go about achieving this? I have been trying a few things but it is crashing my application when I start the second activity. When the user presses button to launch second activity: Intent i = new Intent(MainActivity.this, secondactivity.class); startActivityForResult(i, 1); The array which is bundled back after pressing a button on the second activity: Intent intent= getIntent(); Bundle b = new Bundle(); b.putParcelableArrayList("myarraylist", mylist); intent.putExtras(b); setResult(RESULT_OK, intent); finish(); And finally a listener on the main activity (although I'm not sure of 100% when this code launches...) protected void onActivityResult(int requestCode, int resultCode, Intent data) { super.onActivityResult(requestCode, resultCode, data); if(resultCode==RESULT_OK && requestCode==1){ Bundle extras = data.getExtras(); final ArrayList<MyObject> mylist = extras.getParcelableArrayList("myarraylist"); Toast.makeText(MainActivity.this, mylist.get(0).getName(), Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); } } Any ideas where I am going wrong? The onActivityResult() seems to be crashing my application. EDIT: This is my class MyObject, its called plan and has a name and an id import android.os.Parcel; import android.os.Parcelable; public class Plan implements Parcelable{ private String name; private String id; public Plan(){ } public Plan(String name, String id){ this.name = name; this.id = id; } public String getName(){ return name; } public void setName(String name){ this.name = name; } public String getId(){ return id; } public void setId(String id){ this.id = id; } public String toString(){ return "Plan ID: " + id + " Plan Name: " + name; } @Override public int describeContents() { // TODO Auto-generated method stub return 0; } @Override public void writeToParcel(Parcel dest, int flags) { dest.writeString(id); dest.writeString(name); } public static final Parcelable.Creator<Plan> CREATOR = new Parcelable.Creator<Plan>() { public Plan createFromParcel(Parcel in) { return new Plan(); } @Override public Plan[] newArray(int size) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub return new Plan[size]; } }; } This is my logcat E/AndroidRuntime( 293): java.lang.RuntimeException: Unable to instantiate activ ity ComponentInfo{com.daniel.android.groupproject/com.me.android.projec t.secondactivity}: java.lang.NullPointerException E/AndroidRuntime( 293): at android.app.ActivityThread.performLaunchActiv ity(ActivityThread.java:2417) E/AndroidRuntime( 293): at android.app.ActivityThread.handleLaunchActivi ty(ActivityThread.java:2512) E/AndroidRuntime( 293): at android.app.ActivityThread.access$2200(Activi tyThread.java:119) E/AndroidRuntime( 293): at android.app.ActivityThread$H.handleMessage(Ac tivityThread.java:1863) E/AndroidRuntime( 293): at android.os.Handler.dispatchMessage(Handler.ja va:99) E/AndroidRuntime( 293): at android.os.Looper.loop(Looper.java:123) E/AndroidRuntime( 293): at android.app.ActivityThread.main(ActivityThrea d.java:4363) E/AndroidRuntime( 293): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invokeNative(Native Method) E/AndroidRuntime( 293): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:5 21) E/AndroidRuntime( 293): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit$MethodAndA rgsCaller.run(ZygoteInit.java:860) E/AndroidRuntime( 293): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit.main(Zygot eInit.java:618) E/AndroidRuntime( 293): at dalvik.system.NativeStart.main(Native Method) E/AndroidRuntime( 293): Caused by: java.lang.NullPointerException E/AndroidRuntime( 293): at com.daniel.android.groupproject.login.<init>( login.java:51) E/AndroidRuntime( 293): at java.lang.Class.newInstanceImpl(Native Method ) E/AndroidRuntime( 293): at java.lang.Class.newInstance(Class.java:1479) E/AndroidRuntime( 293): at android.app.Instrumentation.newActivity(Instr umentation.java:1021) E/AndroidRuntime( 293): at android.app.ActivityThread.performLaunchActiv ity(ActivityThread.java:2409) E/AndroidRuntime( 293): ... 11 more

  • php class extend - run something before running parent function

    - by Patrick
    Hi, say I have this class: class animal { function noise() { print 'woof'; } function move() { print 'moved'; } } class dog extends animal { } What I would like to do is when i run $dog-noise() or $dog-move(), it would run something first prior to calling animal class's noise/move. Is this doable? Like maybe logging the function call. If not with class extend, what else can I use to achieve this? Thank you!

  • binding a command inside a listbox item to a property on the viewmodel parent

    I've been working on this for about an hour and looked at all related SO questions. My problem is very simple: I have HomePageVieModel: HomePageVieModel +IList<NewsItem> AllNewsItems +ICommand OpenNewsItem My markup: <Window DataContext="{Binding HomePageViewModel../> <ListBox ItemsSource="{Binding Path=AllNewsItems}"> <ListBox.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <StackPanel> <TextBlock> <Hyperlink Command="{Binding Path=OpenNews}"> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Path=NewsContent}" /> </Hyperlink> </TextBlock> </StackPanel> </DataTemplate> </ListBox.ItemTemplate> The list shows fine with all the items, but for the life of me whatever I try for the Command won't work: <Hyperlink Command="{Binding Path=OpenNewsItem, RelativeSource={RelativeSource AncestorType=vm:HomePageViewModel, AncestorLevel=1}}"> <Hyperlink Command="{Binding Path=OpenNewsItem, RelativeSource={RelativeSource AncestorType=vm:HomePageViewModel,**Mode=FindAncestor}**}"> <Hyperlink Command="{Binding Path=OpenNewsItem, RelativeSource={RelativeSource AncestorType=vm:HomePageViewModel,**Mode=TemplatedParent}**}"> I just always get : System.Windows.Data Error: 4 : Cannot find source for binding with reference .....

  • WPF closing child- closes parent-window

    - by Thomas Spranger
    i have the pretty same sample as mentioned here. Fast concluded: MainWindow closes when the last childwindow is closed. My Problem: I couldn't solve my problems with the described solutions. I can't produce a program where it als takes place. Only in one of my bigger progs. Maybe someone has an idea or knows any further steps. Thanks for reading - Thomas As requested here's a bit of code: This is the part in the MainWindow: bool editAfterSearch = false; Movie selectedMovie = (Movie)this.listView.SelectedItem; Movie backup = (Movie)selectedMovie.Clone(); if (new OnlineSearchWindow().EditMovieViaOnlineSearch(ref selectedMovie, out editAfterSearch)) { this.coverFlow.Update(selectedMovie); } And that's the part of the ChildWindow: public bool EditMovieViaOnlineSearch(ref Movie preset, out bool editAfter) { this.exitWithOk = false; this.editMovieAfterSearch = false; this.tbx_SearchTerm.Text = preset.Title; this.linkedMovie = preset; this.ShowDialog(); editAfter = editMovieAfterSearch; if (this.exitWithOk) { this.linkedMovie.CloneOnlineInformation(ref preset); preset.Bitmap = this.linkedMovie.Bitmap; return true; } else { return false; } }

  • Append a parent element to arrays in PHP for a foreach loop

    - by Erik Berger
    print_r of $data = json_decode($src, true); returns data that looks like this: Array ( [0] => Array ( [var1] => blah [var2] => foo ) [1] => Array ( [var1] => lorem [var2] => ipsum ) // goes down to [1936] ) I want to build an html table that shows var1 and var2 next to each other in the same row. I know do to this I need a foreach statement like foreach($data['items'] as $item) but the problem I think I am having is that my many arrays aren't the child of one thing like 'items', right? I looked into array_push but couldn't figure it out. Can someone help my orphaned parentless arrays?

  • Accessing parent 'this' inside a jQuery $.getJSON

    - by JP
    I'm going to assume that the overall structure of my code as it currently stands is 'best', otherwise this question gets too long, but if I've made any obvious mistakes (or if I've made life hard for myself) then please correct away! Using jQuery, I have a javascript 'class' set out something like this: function MyClass () { this.noise = "Woof" this.dostuff = function() { $.getJSON("http://cows.go",function(moo) { this.noise = moo.inEnglish; } } } var instance = new MyClass(); instance.doStuff() console.log(instance.noise) I'm expecting some kinda tea drinking moo in the console, but of course I'm getting an error about this.noise not being defined (because $.getJSON doesn't pass this through, right?) Any suggestions as to how to be able to affect instance.squeak for any and all instances of MyClass without interference?

  • Parent/master project in git

    - by jriff
    I have a project "A" that is a Git repository. I would like to be able to make multiple copies of project A (B and C), and modify them for clients. "A" is the master so sometimes when I do new functionality i would like to be able to pull them into B or C. But some commits should just stay in A and only be used if making a new clone. How do I do that with Git? That is: how to copy A? (Clone?) how to get specific commits into B and C? Please keep in mind that this all happening locally - not on GitHub. I use OS X.

  • Interface helpers or delegating interface parent

    - by Craig Peterson
    If I have an existing IInterface descendant implemented by a third party, and I want to add helper routines, does Delphi provide any easy way to do so without redirecting every interface method manually? That is, given an interface like so: IFoo = interface procedure Foo1; procedure Foo2; ... procedure FooN; end; Is anything similar to the following supported? IFooHelper = interface helper for IFoo procedure Bar; end; or IFooBar = interface(IFoo) procedure Bar; end; TFooBar = interface(TInterfacedObject, IFoo, IFooBar) private FFoo: IFoo; public procedure Bar; property Foo: IFoo implements IFoo; end; I'm specifically wondering about ways to that allow me to always refer to IFoo, IFooBar, or TFooBar, without switching between them, and without adding all of IFoo's methods to TFooBar.

  • UIScrollView eating touches from its parent

    - by Jon Hull
    I have nested scrollViews (or rather a subclass of UIScrollView inside of an actual scrollview). I set the size of the inner view to its contentSize and set scrollEnabled = NO, because I only want the outside view scrolling. But the innerView occasionally eats touches and keeps the outerView from scrolling when it should. Is there something else I need to set to keep it from stealing the scrolling touches, but still allowing user interaction (e.g. editing a textView)?

  • Attributes in XML subtree that belong to the parent

    - by Bart van Heukelom
    Say I have this XML <doc:document> <objects> <circle radius="10" doc:colour="red" /> <circle radius="20" doc:colour="blue" /> </objects> </doc:document> And this is how it is parsed (pseudo code): // class DocumentParser public Document parse(Element edoc) { doc = new Document(); doc.objects = ObjectsParser.parse(edoc.getChild("objects")); for ( ...?... ) { doc.objectColours.put(object, colour); } return doc; } ObjectsParser is responsible for parsing the objects bit, but is not and should not be aware of the existence of documents. However, in Document colours are associated with objects by use of a Map. What kind of pattern would you recommend to give the colour settings back to DocumentParser.parse from ObjectsParser.parse so it can associate it with the objects they belong to in a map? The alternative would be something like this: <doc:document> <objects> <circle id="1938" radius="10" /> <circle id="6398" radius="20" /> </objects> <doc:objectViewSettings> <doc:objectViewSetting object="1938" colour="red" /> <doc:objectViewSetting object="6398" colour="blue" /> </doc:objectViewSettings> </doc:document> Ugly!

  • HTML: How to get a child element to show behind (lower z-index) than its parent

    - by dclowd9901
    I need for a certain dynamic element to always appear on top of another element, no matter what order in the DOM tree they are. Is this possible? I've tried z-index (with position: relative), and it doesn't seem to work. I hate to be vague, but this is the simplest way I can think of asking this question without explaining its purpose ad nauseum. So, to recap, I need <div class="a"> <div class="b"></div> </div> <div class="b"> <div class="a"></div> </div> To display exactly the same when rendered. And for flexibility purposes (I'm planning on distributing a plugin that needs this functionality), I'd really like to not have to resort to absolute or fixed positioning.

  • OnTouch event consumes click event and prevents execution in parent

    - by Taig
    I'm having a FrameLayout that has an extended ImageView (github) as a child. When I set an onClick()-Event to the FrameLayout it won't be triggered. The reason appears to be the onTouch() method's return value. If I set the ACTION_DOWN's return value to false the event is passed along properly - but then the Multitouch functionalities break. Also running performClick() in the ACTION_UP event comes to nothing. How to handle those events correctly?
