  • What is the status in 3D technology for TVs [closed]

    Maybe it is off-topic for programmers.SE, but don't know where else to ask, and I trust my fellow programmers :) I've recently being lightly following new 3D technologies and I thought that glass-free 3D TV was about to take over the scene since it make much more sense to TVs (I can't imagine having glasses for all the family, kids breaking them, etc) But it seems that I'm wrong, since LG, Sony and Samsumg keep fighting over glasses (active-passive) What is the current and future status in 3D technology for TVs?

    I'm trying to convince my emplyer, a small startup, to setup a blog for the engineers to write about interesting topic in technology we use daily. This would be a separate blog than the one dedicated for product and marketing stuff. I was thinking about something like Joel's blog but focused more on actual code rather than management. Do you know of any successful existing blogs like that? Tech blogs run by the employees of a company?

  • Modify Ath9k driver and debug with aircrack-ng

    I own an ALFA Adapater with Atheros AR9271. What I would like to do is to edit the driver this device uses (do some modifications in the source) and debug it. I'm really new to this, a start guide would be really appreciated.     I saw lots of question about this topic and all of them were talking if someone want to use php for "building web pages", should learn html first or not. and most of them said yes, because most of the time you make web page with both php and html (and maybe css). But If I just want to use php for contacting to My Database (for example MySQL) and nothing more, shuold I learn any html or CSS first or not?

  • How would I achieve diablo like 2D isometric projection?

    Good day, I am in the process of coming up with an idea for a game, and I would like it to be isometric like Diablo. The problem is I have no idea how it achieves the effect of height like in the following screenshot (on the columns): http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/2/20/Diabloscreen.jpg/350px-Diabloscreen.jpg but whatever the case, I'm sure it is going to be harder to achieve then creating a traditional isometric game, but any ideas regarding the topic would be greatly appreciated.

  • Does Google rate the webpage by amount of visits?

    Hi there, there is quite extensive discussion about this topic on another website and I am really losing my confidence. The thing is that I claim that the amount (count) of visits is NOT a criteria for increasing the PR of the particular web because: a) Google just doesn't know about every single visit on a webpage (in case it's not using GA) b) Google just would not rate by something what Google actually affects Thanks for your opinions.
