    Hello, sorry, it's not exactly a programming question, but I am currently in a research state and looking for similar projects, so I could analyze them: It should be application to iPhone or Android or other mobile platform, where, basically, user can access map with "places of interest" and add it's own "place of interest" (with photo and description). Kind of, community generated sightseeing map. I know it is quite simple and not a groundbreaking idea, but my google-fu is quite weak and I can't find anything like that.

    I'm trying to render a world map shapefile on my Geoserver with a Mercator projection. I've tried declaring the SRS on Geoserver and defining EPSG projections of 3785 or 900913 in Openlayers with no success. I've also tried to reproject the shapefile using ogr2ogr but the result is slightly off.   • Good ways to map a 2D side shooter (somewhat like liero, or soldat)

    I'm wondering what way would be best to render a 2D map for a shooter (these will be static maps) similar to Soldat. Multiple options I've considered are a tile based map (stored in txt files), or just creating different classes for the different terrains I plan to use and creating a data structure to read/store them in a file. (I want to also be able to include things like jumping/running on walls, sliding down walls/slopes ect) I feel like there must be a better way than either of these, but haven't been able to find definitive information :/ Thanks :)
