  • Iptables string

    - by Mr. BeatMasta
I have an iptables rule like this: iptables -t nat -I PREROUTING -p tcp --dport 80 -s 192.168.1.2 -j DNAT --to-destination 192.168.1.1:80 it works perfectly.. but I want to redirect only for one URL like this: iptables -t nat -I PREROUTING -p tcp --dport 80 -s 192.168.1.2 -m string --string "google.com" -j DNAT --to-destination 192.168.1.1:80 which does not work in any way... please help me with this

  • Can I use CAT 6a connectors with 7a cable (and get 6a performance)?

    - by Mr. Flibble
I'm re-wiring a building and want to get the best cable possible laid - it required re-plastering to make a change to the cables and the cables will be there for the next 10 - 20 years. Currently there appears to be cat 7a cable available but not too much in the way of cat 7a connectors. Also - I won't be using 40Gig hardware in the near future. So, my question: is it possible to use cat 6a connectors / patch panels with cat 7a cable and get the same performance as I would had I used cat 6a cable? Are there any gotchas in trying to do this?

  • Realtek 8188ce stops working after 2minutes

    - by Max M
I am using ubuntu 12.10 on an hp dm4-2191us via wubi with the Realtek 8188ce wifi adapter. Everything works very well with the exception of the wifi. I have used wicd and it didn't worked at all so i went back to Network Manager with variable success. It works for 30 min - 2 min before i have to reconnect to get it to work again. I would really like to use Ubuntu (it is a better platform in my opinion) but no wifi could really be a deal breaker.

  • Cloning single disk drive to multiple drives simultaneously

    - by mr.b
I am looking for a way to clone single disk drive to more than one disk drive at the same time. I have prepared system images on 1TB disks, and it takes almost 2 hours to clone one disk to another, and then it goes up exponentially, in order to have say 30 disks cloned. If it was possible to clone one disk to more than single target, it would simplify whole procedure a lot. Also, is there something that prevents this kind of operation? I mean, is there some special reason why every disk cloning software that I know about supports only single target drive? Thanks!

  • How to determine which cells in a grid intersect with a given triangle?

    - by Ray Dey
I'm currently writing a 2D AI simulation, but I'm not completely certain how to check whether the position of an agent is within the field of view of another. Currently, my world partitioning is simple cell-space partitioning (a grid). I want to use a triangle to represent the field of view, but how can I calculate the cells that intersect with the triangle? Similar to this picture: The red areas are the cells I want to calculate, by checking whether the triangle intersects those cells. Thanks in advance. EDIT: Just to add to the confusion (or perhaps even make it easier). Each cell has a min and max vector where the min is the bottom left corner and the max is the top right corner.

  • Can't install newer NVIDIA display driver on Windows 7

    - by Mr.X
I'm using Windows 7, and the latest version of NVIDIA display driver I can install on my computer is 275.33 (or 266.58, I can't decide now, see below). When installing newer version of the driver (e.g. 275.50 and 280.26), the installer always fails at "Installing NVIDIA Control Panel", then Windows 7 reverts to 275.33 (the newest stock version?). I tried to find installation logs but couldn't find it. I tried to completely delete (in fact I renamed) c:\progra~1\nvidia~1 folder but still couldn't install. How to resolve this problem? Any help is appreciated.

  • What hardware would I need (approx) to run ESXi server?

    - by mr.b
Hi, I am considering to purchase off-the-shelf commodity hardware in order to build server that will host virtual machines using ESXi server. Intended purpose for this server is NOT mission critical tasks. It will have to run perhaps 20-50 Windows XP/Vista/7 virtual machines (in total, but closer to 20 figure). Each guest would have to have 1-2 GB of ram, and probably two-three times more disk space than guest OS needs with clean install and all updates applied (that would be around 6-8 GB for XP, and i believe closer to 10-15 for win7). Those guests will act as a test ground for a new product that is network management software, thus guests will idle most of their time once initially loaded, but if I give them some task to complete, they should be able to perform reasonably well. Now, from what I have learned... CPU is usually not much of an issue (6 cores would do it), memory should not be lacking, but doesn't have to be sum of all guests, because of overcommitment... That leads me to IO, which is, as it seems, the bottleneck. Since I have very little experience with ESXi (and ESX, too) server, I'd like to ask: How much memory could I save by overcommitment, and how does it affect performance? Is 6-core cpu enough to run above described system? Would it be possible to run entire server off two (or even one) SSD drives (to host system virtual disks, with few additional HDDs (2-3) in RAID 0 to be used as secondary storage? I read somewhere that ESXi allows having something like "master image", essentially virtual machine that is "deployed" many times, so that disk space can be saved by having only differences stored by specific guests, instead of copying around whole virtual disks. Is this true, and how can this help me? Are there any other things I need to take into consideration when building this off-the-shelf solution? I should probably mention here that I'm fully aware of issues like SPOF regarding power supply, raid 0, etc, but since it's only a testing ground and not a production system, it's not so important for me. Thanks, B.

  • Upgrade manually-installed msi by assigning software through gpo

    - by Mr Happy
In the past I rolled out software by manually installing it on a "golden" workstation, creating an (ghost)image from that and rolling that out to the other workstations. I try not to do that any more for simple/small software, and when possible (if it's an .msi) I assign the software through gpo. I'm having a problem with one of those. The software was manually installed on the image, which was rolled out, and now I have an update for that software (new msi) and I'd like to assign it through gpo. Don't know if it's relevant but it's user assigned. The new version gets installed alongside with the old version (this is possible since the program folder is different between those versions). When I install the same msi by hand, it properly removes/upgrades the old version though. Is what I am trying to do possible?

  • Two divs, one fixed width, the other, the rest

    - by Shamil
I've got two div containers. Whilst one needs to be a specific width, I need to adjust it, so that, the other div takes up the rest of the space. Is there any way I can do this? <div class="left"></div> <div class="right"></div> // needs to be 250px .left { float: left; width: 83%; display: table-cell; vertical-align: middle; min-height: 50px; margin-right: 10px; overflow: auto } .right { float: right; width: 16%; text-align: right; display: table-cell; vertical-align: middle; min-height: 50px; height: 100%; overflow: auto } Thanks

  • MySQL - complete server migration (Ubuntu) [closed]

    - by Mr A
Possible Duplicate: How to copy and move mysql database Dump all databases with SSH access I'm setting up a new dev machine, and I have the old one sitting right next to me. I'd like to do an exact copy of all MySQL structures and data from the old machine to the new. Nothing fancy needs to happen (it's a dev machine). No replication. I don't care about "downtimes" etc. Is there a super simple way to do this? For example, I have SSH on the old server, can I just use Nautilus, do a connect to server, and then transfer a folder over, replacing another folder with it and be done? It's the same version of MySQL on both sides. Same version of Ubuntu. Same in most respects.

  • Optimize bootup sequence

    - by ubuntudroid
    I'm on Ubuntu 11.04 (upgraded from 10.10) and suffering really high bootup times. It got so annoying, that I decided to dive into bootchart analysis myself. Therefore I installed bootchart and restarted the system which generated this chart. However, I'm not really experienced in reading such stuff. What causes the long bootup sequence? Edit: Here is the output of hdparm -i /dev/sda: /dev/sda: Model=SAMSUNG HD501LJ, FwRev=CR100-12, SerialNo=S0MUJ1EQ102621 Config={ Fixed } RawCHS=16383/16/63, TrkSize=34902, SectSize=554, ECCbytes=4 BuffType=DualPortCache, BuffSize=16384kB, MaxMultSect=16, MultSect=16 CurCHS=16383/16/63, CurSects=16514064, LBA=yes, LBAsects=976773168 IORDY=on/off, tPIO={min:120,w/IORDY:120}, tDMA={min:120,rec:120} PIO modes: pio0 pio1 pio2 pio3 pio4 DMA modes: mdma0 mdma1 mdma2 UDMA modes: udma0 udma1 udma2 udma3 udma4 udma5 *udma6 AdvancedPM=no WriteCache=enabled Drive conforms to: unknown: ATA/ATAPI-3,4,5,6,7 * signifies the current active mode And here the output of hdparm -tT /dev/sda /dev/sda: Timing cached reads: 2410 MB in 2.00 seconds = 1205.26 MB/sec Timing buffered disk reads: 258 MB in 3.02 seconds = 85.50 MB/sec

  • Finding the median of the merged array of two sorted arrays in O(logN)?

    - by user176517
Refering to the solution present at MIT handout I have tried to figure out the solution myself but have got stuck and I believe I need help to understand the following points. In the function header used in the solution MEDIAN -SEARCH (A[1 . . l], B[1 . . m], max(1,n/2 - m), min(l, n/2)) I do not understand the last two arguments why not simply 1, l why the max and min respectively. Thanking You.

  • PMDB Block Size Choice

    - by Brian Diehl
Choosing a block size for the P6 PMDB database is not a difficult task. In fact, taking the default of 8k is going to be just fine. Block size is one of those things that is always hotly debated. Everyone has their personal preference and can sight plenty of good reasons for their choice. To add to the confusion, Oracle supports multiple block sizes withing the same instance. So how to decide and what is the justification? Like most OLTP systems, Oracle Primavera P6 has a wide variety of data. A typical table's average row size may be less than 50 bytes or upwards of 500 bytes. There are also several tables with BLOB types but the LOB data tends not to be very large. It is likely that no single block size would be perfect for every table. So how to choose? My preference is for the 8k (8192 bytes) block size. It is a good compromise that is not too small for the wider rows, yet not to big for the thin rows. It is also important to remember that database blocks are the smallest unit of change and caching. I prefer to have more, individual "working units" in my database. For an instance with 4gb of buffer cache, an 8k block will provide 524,288 blocks of cache. The following SQL*Plus script returns the average, median, min, and max rows per block. column "AVG(CNT)" format 999.99 set verify off select avg(cnt), median(cnt), min(cnt), max(cnt), count(*) from ( select dbms_rowid.ROWID_RELATIVE_FNO(rowid) , dbms_rowid.ROWID_BLOCK_NUMBER(rowid) , count(*) cnt from &tab group by dbms_rowid.ROWID_RELATIVE_FNO(rowid) , dbms_rowid.ROWID_BLOCK_NUMBER(rowid) ) Running this for the TASK table, I get this result on a database with an 8k block size. Each activity, on average, has about 19 rows per block. Enter value for tab: task AVG(CNT) MEDIAN(CNT) MIN(CNT) MAX(CNT) COUNT(*) -------- ----------- ---------- ---------- ---------- 18.72 19 3 28 415917 I recommend an 8k block size for the P6 transactional database. All of our internal performance and scalability test are done with this block size. This does not mean that other block sizes will not work. Instead, like many other parameters, this is the safest choice.

  • CSS selector driving me nuts!!!

    - by YsoL8
    Apoologies in advance for the slightly long winded code in this question @charset "UTF-8"; /* CSS Document */ * { margin:0; padding:0; font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; } #wrapper { width:900px; margin:0 auto 0 auto; } #header { background-color:#800080; width:894px; min-height:60px; padding-top:6px; padding-left:6px; } #header img { margin-left:200px; margin-top:10px; } #headerleft { float:left; } #header h2 { font-family:Arial Black, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color:#ffff00; font-size:36px; /*float:left;*/ } #header h3 { font-family:Arial Black, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color:#ffff00; font-size:14px; } #nav { background-color:#800080; width:100%; min-height:30px; } #nav ul { padding-left:7px; padding-right:7px; } #nav li { list-style:none; display:inline; padding:5px 44px 5px 44px; } #nav li a { color:#FFF; text-decoration:none; } #nav li a:hover { color:#ffff00; } #leftcol { background-color:#800080; width:125px; min-height:30px; float:left; } #leftcol img { margin-left:20px; margin-bottom:20px; } .content { padding:20px 10px 10px 20px; float:left; } <!-- admin classes --> .pageselect p { color:#C90; } #rightcol { /*background-color:#800080;*/ width:160px; min-height:330px; float:right; } .righthead { margin-top:7px; background-image:url(../images/rightcol-head.png); color:#FFF; padding: 5px 20px 5px 20px; font-size:14px; } .rightmid { background-image:url(../images/right-mid.jpg); padding: 5px 10px 5px 10px; font-size:14px; } .rightfoot { background-image:url(../images/right-foot.jpg); background-repeat:no-repeat; } .clear { clear:both; } #footer { background-color:#800080; width:880px; min-height:30px; margin-top:-20px; padding-top:30px; padding-left:20px; padding-bottom:10px; } #footer p { color:#ffff00; } #footer p a { color:#ffff00; text-decoration:none; } #footer p a:hover { font-weight:bold; } .error { color:#C30; } I have the above stylesheet. I am attempting to style the following element (taken from firefox web developer tools): html > body > div#wrapper > div#leftright > div.content > div.pageselect To my mind .pageselect should be the selector to do that, but I seem to be powerless to influence the style, and its just about sending me wacko! Why won't this work?

  • Very different I/O performance in C++ on Windows

    - by Mr.Gate
Hi all, I'm a new user and my english is not so good so I hope to be clear. We're facing a performance problem using large files (1GB or more) expecially (as it seems) when you try to grow them in size. Anyway... to verify our sensations we tryed the following (on Win 7 64Bit, 4core, 8GB Ram, 32 bit code compiled with VC2008) a) Open an unexisting file. Write it from the beginning up to 1Gb in 1Mb slots. Now you have a 1Gb file. Now randomize 10000 positions within that file, seek to that position and write 50 bytes in each position, no matter what you write. Close the file and look at the results. Time to create the file is quite fast (about 0.3"), time to write 10000 times is fast all the same (about 0.03"). Very good, this is the beginnig. Now try something else... b) Open an unexisting file, seek to 1Gb-1byte and write just 1 byte. Now you have another 1Gb file. Follow the next steps exactly same way of case 'a', close the file and look at the results. Time to create the file is the faster you can imagine (about 0.00009") but write time is something you can't believe.... about 90"!!!!! b.1) Open an unexisting file, don't write any byte. Act as before, ramdomizing, seeking and writing, close the file and look at the result. Time to write is long all the same: about 90"!!!!! Ok... this is quite amazing. But there's more! c) Open again the file you crated in case 'a', don't truncate it... randomize again 10000 positions and act as before. You're fast as before, about 0,03" to write 10000 times. This sounds Ok... try another step. d) Now open the file you created in case 'b', don't truncate it... randomize again 10000 positions and act as before. You're slow again and again, but the time is reduced to... 45"!! Maybe, trying again, the time will reduce. I actually wonder why... Any Idea? The following is part of the code I used to test what I told in previuos cases (you'll have to change someting in order to have a clean compilation, I just cut & paste from some source code, sorry). The sample can read and write, in random, ordered or reverse ordered mode, but write only in random order is the clearest test. We tryed using std::fstream but also using directly CreateFile(), WriteFile() and so on the results are the same (even if std::fstream is actually a little slower). Parameters for case 'a' = -f_tempdir_\casea.dat -n10000 -t -p -w Parameters for case 'b' = -f_tempdir_\caseb.dat -n10000 -t -v -w Parameters for case 'b.1' = -f_tempdir_\caseb.dat -n10000 -t -w Parameters for case 'c' = -f_tempdir_\casea.dat -n10000 -w Parameters for case 'd' = -f_tempdir_\caseb.dat -n10000 -w Run the test (and even others) and see... // iotest.cpp : Defines the entry point for the console application. // #include <windows.h> #include <iostream> #include <set> #include <vector> #include "stdafx.h" double RealTime_Microsecs() { LARGE_INTEGER fr = {0, 0}; Hi I am using yui to display a datagrid ... <?php $host = "localhost"; //database location $user = "root"; //database username $pass = ""; //database password $db_name = "cms"; //database name //database connection $link = mysql_connect($host, $user, $pass); mysql_select_db($db_name); //sets encoding to utf8 $result = mysql_query("select dStud_id,dMarkObtained1,dMarkObtained2,dMarkObtained3,dMarkTotal from tbl_internalmarkallot"); //$res = mysql_fetch_array($result); while($res = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { //print_r($res); $JsonVar = json_encode($res); echo "<input type='text' name='json' id='json' value ='$JsonVar'>"; } //print_r (mysql_fetch_array($result)); //echo "<input type='text' name='json' id='json' value ='$JsonVar'>"; ?> <html> <head> <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"> <title>Client-side Pagination</title> <style type="text/css"> body { margin:0; padding:0; } </style> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="build/fonts/fonts-min.css" /> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="build/paginator/assets/skins/sam/paginator.css" /> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="build/datatable/assets/skins/sam/datatable.css" /> <script type="text/javascript" src="build/yahoo-dom-event/yahoo-dom-event.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="build/connection/connection-min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="build/json/json-min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="build/element/element-min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="build/paginator/paginator-min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="build/datasource/datasource-min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="build/datatable/datatable-min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="YuiJs.js"></script> <style type="text/css"> #paginated { text-align: center; } #paginated table { margin-left:auto; margin-right:auto; } #paginated, #paginated .yui-dt-loading { text-align: center; background-color: transparent; } </style> </head> <body class="yui-skin-sam" onload="ProjectDatatable(document.getElementById('json').value);"> <h1>Client-side Pagination</h1> <div class="exampleIntro"> </div> <input type="hidden" id="HfId"/> <div id="paginated"> </div> <script type="text/javascript"> /*YAHOO.util.Event.onDOMReady(function() { YAHOO.example.ClientPagination = function() { var myColumnDefs = [ {key:"dStud_id", label:"ID",sortable:true, resizeable:true, editor: new YAHOO.widget.TextareaCellEditor()}, {key:"dMarkObtained1", label:"Name",sortable:true}, {key:"dMarkObtained2", label:"CycleTest1"}, {key:"dMarkObtained3", label:"CycleTest2"}, {key:"dMarkTotal", label:"CycleTest3"}, ]; var myDataSource = new YAHOO.util.DataSource("assets/php/json_proxy.php?"); myDataSource.responseType = YAHOO.util.DataSource.TYPE_JSON; myDataSource.responseSchema = { resultsList: "records", fields: ["dStud_id","dMarkObtained1","dMarkObtained2","dMarkObtained3","dMarkTotal"] }; var oConfigs = { paginator: new YAHOO.widget.Paginator({ rowsPerPage: 15 }), initialRequest: "results=504" }; var myDataTable = new YAHOO.widget.DataTable("paginated", myColumnDefs, myDataSource, oConfigs); return { oDS: myDataSource, oDT: myDataTable }; }(); });*/ </script> <?php echo "m".$res['dMarkObtained1']; echo "m".$res['dMarkObtained2']; echo "m".$res['dMarkObtained3']; echo "Tm".$res['dMarkTotal']; {?><? • Sensor Manager getOrientation, doesnt display text and only works in debug mode?

    - by Aidan
Hi Guys, My code appears to crash. I'm trying to setup a SensorManager for getting the Orientation of the device. I also have a listener that should update when conditions change. But when I run this code it crashes... public void sensor(){ // Locate the SensorManager using Activity.getSystemService sm = (SensorManager) getSystemService(SENSOR_SERVICE); sm.getOrientation(mR, mOrientation); // Register your SensorListener sm.registerListener(sl, sm.getDefaultSensor(Sensor.TYPE_ORIENTATION),SensorManager.SENSOR_DELAY_NORMAL); } private final SensorEventListener sl = new SensorEventListener() { @Override public void onAccuracyChanged(Sensor sensor, int accuracy) { } @Override public void onSensorChanged(SensorEvent event) { if (event.sensor.getType()==Sensor.TYPE_ORIENTATION) { Global.Orientation = "Orientation is equal to: "+ SensorManager.getOrientation(mR, mOrientation); } } sm is defined as SensorManager sm; as a class wide variable also. I've got some other classes outputting the Orientation to a screen which I know works. The problem is somewhere in these methods. Am I doing it wrong or Is there a better way of doing this?

  • SQL Server: SELECT rows with MAX(Column A), MAX(Column B), DISTINCT by related columns

    - by z531
Scenario: Table A MasterID, Added Date, Added By, Updated Date, Updated By, 1, 1/1/2010, 'Fred', null, null 2, 1/2/2010, 'Barney', 'Mr. Slate', 1/7/2010 3, 1/3/2010, 'Noname', null, null Table B MasterID, Added Date, Added By, Updated Date, Updated By, 1, 1/3/2010, 'Wilma', 'The Great Kazoo', 1/5/2010 2, 1/4/2010, 'Betty', 'Dino', 1/4/2010 Table C MasterID, Added Date, Added By, Updated Date, Updated By, 1, 1/5/2010, 'Pebbles', null, null 2, 1/6/2010, 'BamBam', null, null Table D MasterID, Added Date, Added By, Updated Date, Updated By, 1, 1/2/2010, 'Noname', null, null 3, 1/4/2010, 'Wilma', null, null I need to return the max added date and corresponding user, and max updated date and corresponding user for each distinct record when tables A,B,C&D are UNION'ed, i.e.: 1, 1/5/2010, 'Pebbles', 'The Great Kazoo', 1/5/2010 2, 1/6/2010, 'BamBam', 'Mr. Slate', 1/7/2010 3, 1/4/2010, 'Wilma', null, null I know how to do this with one date/user per row, but with two is beyond me. DBMS is SQL Server 2005. T-SQL solution preferred. Thanks in advance, Dave

  • ColdFusion structs Direct Assignment vs object literal notation.

    - by Tom Hubbard
The newer versions of ColdFusion (I believe CF 8 and 9) allow you to create structs with object literal notation similar to JSON. My question is, are there specific benefits (execution efficiency maybe) to using object literal notation over individual assignments for data that is essentially static? For example: With individual assignments you would do something like this: var user = {}; user.Fname = "MyFirstnam"; user.Lname = "MyLastName"; user.titles = []; ArrayAppend(user.titles,'Mr'); ArrayAppend(user.titles,'Dr.'); Whereas with object literals you would do something like. var user = {Fname = "MyFirstnam", Lname = "MyLastName", titles = ['Mr','Dr']}; Now this limited example is admittedly simple, but if titles was an array of structures (Say an array of addresses), the literal notation becomes awkward to work with.

  • How to prevent column b containing the same value as any column a in Oracle?

    - by Janek Bogucki
What is a good way to prevent a table with 2 columns, a and b, from having any record where column b is equal to any value in column a? This would be used for a table of corrections like this, MR -> Mr Prf. -> Prof. MRs -> Mrs I can see how it could be done with a trigger and a subquery assuming no concurrent activity but a more declarative approach would be preferable. This is an example of what should be prevented, Wing Commdr. -> Wing Cdr. Wing Cdr. -> Wing Commander Ideally the solution would work with concurrent inserts and updates.

  • Managing string resources in a Java application - singleton?

    - by Joe Attardi
I seek a solution to the age-old problem of managing string resources. My current implementation seems to work well, but it depends on using singletons, and I know how often singletons can be maligned. The resource manager class has a singleton instance that handles lookups in the ResourceBundle, and you use it like so: MessageResources mr = MessageResources.getMessageResources(); // returns singleton instance ... JLabel helloLabel = new JLabel(mr.getString("label.hello")); Is this an appropriate use of a singleton? Is there some better, more universally used approach that I'm not aware of? I understand that this is probably a bit subjective, but any feedback I can get would be appreciated. I'd rather find out early on that I'm doing it wrong than later on in the process. Thanks!

  • Employing elegance in order to evade importing elephants: a case of excessive dll Imports

    - by user994179
    I am writing C# code that interfaces to a legacy (Feb 2012) C program, using DllImport. It works fine, but I need to call more than 30 different functions, turning my normally impeccable, exquisite code into something of near-elephantine proportions. Surely there must be a way around this? [Warning: those with weak stomachs may want to avert their eyes from what follows]: [DllImport("C:\\Users\\mitt\\Documents\\Visual Studio 2010\\Projects\\mrSolution\\mr\\x64\\Debug\\mrDll.dll", CallingConvention = CallingConvention.Cdecl, CharSet = CharSet.Ansi)] public static extern bool mrEngine_initialize( [In, Out, MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.LPStruct)] PLOT_SPEC PlotSpec); [DllImport("C:\\Users\\mitt\\Documents\\Visual Studio 2010\\Projects\\mrSolution\\mr\\x64\\Debug\\mrDll.dll", CallingConvention = CallingConvention.Cdecl, CharSet = CharSet.Ansi)] public static extern bool mrEngine_getDataPoint( [In, Out, MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.LPStruct)] PLOT_SPEC PlotSpec);

  • Grouping php array items based on user and created time

    - by Jim
This is an array of objects showing a user uploading photos: Array ( [12] => stdClass Object ( [type] => photo [created] => 2010-05-14 23:36:41 [user] => stdClass Object ( [id] => 760 [username] => mrsmith ) [photo] => stdClass Object ( [id] => 4181 ) ) [44] => stdClass Object ( [type] => photo [created] => 2010-05-14 23:37:15 [user] => stdClass Object ( [id] => 760 [username] => mrsmith ) [photo] => stdClass Object ( [id] => 4180 ) ) ) However instead of showing: mr smith uploaded one photo mr smith uploaded one photo I'd like to display: mr smith uploaded two photos by grouping similar items, grouping by user ID and them having added them within, let's say 15 minutes of each other. So I'd like to get the array in this sort of shape: Array ( [12] => stdClass Object ( [type] => photo [created] => 2010-05-14 23:36:41 [user] => stdClass Object ( [id] => 760 [username] => mrsmith ) [photos] => Array ( [0] => stdClass Object ( [id] => 4181 ) [1] => stdClass Object ( [id] => 4180 ) ) ) ) preserving the first item of the group and it's created time, and supplementing it with any other groupable photos and then unsetting any items that were grouped (so the final array doesn't have key 44 anymore as it was grouped in with 12). The array contains other actions than just photos, hence the original keys of 12 and 44. I just can't figure out a way to do this efficiently. I used to use MySQL and PHP to do this but am trying to just use pure PHP for caching reasons. Can anyone shed any insights? I thought about going through each item and seeing if I can group it with the previous one in the array but the previous one might not necessarily be relevant or even a photo. I've got total brain freeze :(

  • Java String Replace and null characters

    - by praspa
Testing out someone elses code (of course it was ...) , I noticed a few JSP pages printing funky non-ascii characters. Taking a dip into the source I found this tidbit. // remove any periods from first name e.g. Mr. John --> Mr John firstName = firstName.trim().replace('.','\0'); Does replacing a character in a String with a null character even work in Java? I know that '\0' will terminate a c-string. Would this be the culprit to the funky characters? Thanks PR
