• Driver error when using multiple shaders

  I'm using 3 different shaders: a tessellation shader to use the tessellation feature of DirectX11 :) a regular shader to show how it would look without tessellation and a text shader to display debug-info such as FPS, model count etc. All of these shaders are initialized at the beginning. Using the keyboard, I can switch between the tessellation shader and regular shader to render the scene. Additionally, I also want to be able toggle the display of debug-info using the text shader. Since implementing the tessellation shader the text shader doesn't work anymore. When I activate the DebugText (rendered using the text-shader) my screens go black for a while, and Windows displays the following message: Display Driver stopped responding and has recovered This happens with either of the two shaders used to render the scene. Additionally: I can start the application using the regular shader to render the scene and then switch to the tessellation shader. If I try to switch back to the regular shader I get the same error as with the text shader. What am I doing wrong when switching between shaders? What am I doing wrong when displaying text at the same time? What file can I post to help you help me? :) thx P.S. In clearstate methode it says it resets following params to NULL: I found following in my Direct3D Class: depth-stencil state - m_deviceContext-OMSetDepthStencilState rasterizer state - m_deviceContext-RSSetState(m_rasterState); blend state - m_device-CreateBlendState viewports - m_deviceContext-RSSetViewports(1, &viewport); I found following in every Shader Class: input/output resource slots - deviceContext-PSSetShaderResources shaders - deviceContext-VSSetShader to - deviceContext-PSSetShader input layouts - device-CreateInputLayout sampler state - device-CreateSamplerState These two I didn't understand, where can I find them? predications - ? scissor rectangles - ? Do I need to store them all localy so I can switch between them, because it doesn't feel right to reinitialize the Direct3d and the Shaders by every switch (key input)?!

• Lotus NotesSQL Driver - cannot install

  Hi all, I need to install Lotus NotesSQL Driver (current version is 8.5) onto a virtual machine running XP. Here's what's I've done so far: I retrieved the file (CZOWFEN.zip) from the IBM website. I ran the exe. I then went to My Computer-Properties-Advanced-Environmental Settings-System Variables-Path and added "; c:\notessql" so the ODBC administrator could find Notes.ini (why the setup file didn't do this in the first place, i don't know). I opened up the ODBC administrator and tried to add a new System DSN to a Lotus DB. "The setup routines for the Lotus Notes SQL Driver (*.nsf) ODBC driver could not be loaded due to system error code 126" I redownloaded and reinstalled the driver (making sure I had the latest version 8.5). No luck. I checked the registry. All the file paths appeared to be correct. Per many, many similar cases on the internet, I tried several different variations of adding the various Lotus Notes folders to my PATH variables. Same error. I've done this setup on 5 different machines now with no problem. The only difference here is that this machine is virtual. Ideas?

• Driver issue for 7850 HD Diamond Windows 7

  I have an issue with windows 7 implementing the drivers ati provides for my 7850 HD Diamond video card. The video card is plugged in correctly to the PCIE 2.0 slots of my motherboard (p6t asus) with more then enough power. Fortunately the card works as I have my monitor plugged into the card itself and I can see just fine. However windows 7 does not replace the standard vga default microsoft driver with catalyst drivers that I've tried installing from online as well as the CD. Every time I install the drivers using Catalyst Install manager it always finishes with "Install complete(Warnings occured)". I then see the warnings it has which it instead reports that it successfully installed the SDK, Catalyst Install Manager, and HDMI/AUDIO packages. When I check my device manager after that, the display adapter still shows as standard vga and that its still using microsoft default display adapter. Now this current card is replacing an old card of mine which is the ATI 4890 HD which works beautifully. In fact for the old card to work, all I need to do is go to device manager and right click on standard vga - click update driver and windows 7 magically finds the correct driver to install and everything is good. Not so with the new card. I've even went into my regedits and uninstalled every bit of ati driver software before reinstalling my new card. Nothing's worked thus far. I've already exchanged my card out once and talked to customer support from my motherboard, microsoft, and ati all blaming the other. Please help me out!!

• Mustek 1200 CP driver SFC4.SYS bluescreens with BAD_POOL_HEADER

  I have Windows XP SP2. Recently it started bluescreening right after starting up with 'BAD_POOL_HEADER', 0x00000019 error caused by SFC4.SYS driver. After googling for a while I've found out that this is my Mustek's 1200 CP scanner driver. Booting in safe mode and uninstalling it solved the problem... And created another one: now I can't use my scanner. The weird thing is, that it has been working for a while on this PC without any problems. It all started suddenly, and I can't remember installing anything that might have affected it. Reverting to several earlier system restore points didn't help. I've tried re-installing it from the Mustek website, just in case if my copy got corrupted or infected by a virus, but it did not help - it still bluescreens. Also, I've installed Avast and scanned my PC - there were no viruses found. If anyone had such a problem before or has an idea what might have caused it, please help. ED: @Michael Todd: ...try installing on another PC... I've installed it on my friends PC. He has the same OS version, with the latest updates just like mine (he wasn't too happy, even after I've assured him that it is easy to fix by uninstalling that driver :] ). It worked fine - no bluescreens or whatsoever. So I think I've narrowed it down to either BIOS settings, or some wicked driver conflict. Next thing I'm going to try is to re-install XP, or install windows 7. I'm not too happy with a prospect of mucking about with BIOS settings...

• How to forever disable driver signature enforcement in Windows 8

  Is there a way to forever disable driver signature enforcement in Windows 8? I keep seeing this solution posted on various blogs and forums: bcdedit -set loadoptions DISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS bcdedit -set TESTSIGNING ON but it is not working, at least not like when you manually disable driver signature enforcement. To disable driver signature enforcement, I currently have to do this everytime I restart my PC: 1. From the Metro Start Screen, open Settings (move your mouse to the bottom-right-corner of the screen and wait for the pop-out bar to appear, then click the Gear icon). 2. Click ‘More PC Settings’. 3. Click ‘General’. 4. Scroll down, and click ‘Restart now’ under ‘Advanced startup’. 5. Click ‘Troubleshoot’. 6. Click ‘Advanced Options’ 7. Click ‘Windows Startup Settings’ 8. Click Restart. Is there at least a way to create a shortcut or something? F8, Shift+F8 don't work any more at boot. These MS developers freaks really want everything their way only. What's worse is that when I have to power up my PC, I first have to start normally and then restart with driver signature enforcement disabled, because there is no way to tell Windows 8 to show the troubleshoot screen when a PC is powered up.

• Dialog box tells me there's a missing driver when installing 64-bit version of Windows 7

  I'm trying to install Windows 7 64-bit on my computer (ASUS P6T Deluxe V2, one 80GB HDD and two 1 TB HDDs). When I'm supposed to select whether I want to Upgrade or do a Custom install, I get a dialog box telling me: Load Driver A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now. Note: If the Windows installation media is in the CD/DVD drive, you can safely remove it for this step. I've tried to reach this step using a 32-bit installation disc, but that doesn't generate this message at all. Through the command windows (shift-F10) I can reach all of my drives, including my optical drive, without any problems--so what kind of device driver is it the installation wants? I've tried all the obvious drivers on the CD that followed my motherboard, but I can't seem to find the right one. The problem is that I don't know what device I'm supposed to load the drivers for in the first place. Can anyone help me? Edit: It turned out that my downloaded image was corrupted. I borrowed a DVD from a friend of mine, which worked!

• Why i disconnect every few seconds? using USB wireless adapter

  i know it's for ubuntu questions..but mint and ubuntu are very similiar and i had the same problem with linux ubuntu too..so i think this is the right place for my question anyway i don't have experience with drivers and other things,after installing Linux on my machine( i did dist-upgrade btw) everything seem to be great because i didn't have to install any driver, after a while i realized that my connection stop after few minutes(actually it shows that I'm connected but it's not) so i have to reconnect and after few minutes it disconnect again. I'm using Alfa USB wireless adapter AWS036H, and my Linux version is 11 i think the driver i'm using is Realtek i searched in the Internet and i found nothing. these are some outputs of few things • Acer touchpad multitouch not working

  I tried to get my Acer laptop's touchpad working properly. I installed driver package (psmouse-alps-dkms_0.10_all) which made the side scrolling working. However, the touchpad supports multitouch (works on Windows), but Synaptiks claims that only 1 finger is detected by the touchpad. Thus 2 finger scrolling, pinch & pan zoom and those are not working. Any ideas how I could get these multi-finger gestures working?

• How do I remove the FGLRX drivers after I've installed them by hand?

  I installed ati-driver-installer-11-9-x86.x86_64.run downloaded from the ATI Website. However I installed the generic version instead of building a distribution specific installer. Now I have the gnome-shell graphic glitches that are associated with having the old Fglrx drivers installed. How can I remove these drivers? They do not show up in the additional drivers dialog, and I cannot install any other drivers till these are removed.

• Wireless card unseen by lspci

  I installed both Ubuntu 8.04 and 10.04. I tried to install the wireless card. although I succeeded in installing the driver using ndiswrapper, it tells me that the hardware is not present. When I use lspci, it doesn't list it. I have this laptop model and I think it should have the same entry about the wireless card here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1810193 Could the problem be other than hardware malfunction?

  Hi, I'm a complete noob here, I recently bought an HP 3161 with an ATI 5650 hd card, when I installed 10.04 LTS everything was working fine until I was prompted to activate proprietary driver fglrx, after I did this I couldn't reboot (not even in recovery mode) until I reinstalled 10.04, what can I do? I would appreciate any help since I haven't been able to find anyone with the same problem, thanks.

I'm running Windows 7 Pro 32-bit on my Dell Latitude 2100 netbook and I'm having an issue with the line in device/driver/functionality. The device & driver are stock: Driver Date: 7/13/2009 Driver Version: 6.1.7600.16385 I'm almost sure that the manufacturer of the sound card is RealTek. The problem is that there is a delay (when monitoring input) between the source and the speakers. My setup is bass guitar running through a 12' long instrument cable (1/4") with a 1/4" female to 1/8" male adapter into the line in port on the computer. Then the 15' long headphones/line out cable goes into a standard set of powered speakers. How do I get rid of this delay? Thanks for any help.

I get the following exception when I try to connect to the database: java.sql.SQLException: [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] The specified DSN contains an architecture mismatch between the Driver and Application I am using 64bit windows7, and I am using eclipse which is also a 64bit version My database is a microsoft access database and it seems that the driver is a 32bit driver which is causing the problem. I read somewhere that microsoft has not released a 64bit driver for microsoft access! Any help on how to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated.

• Oracle 9i Session Disconnections

  I am in a development environment, and our test Oracle 9i server has been misbehaving for a few days now. What happens is that we have our JDBC connections disconnecting after a few successful connections. We got this box set up by our IT department and handed over to. It is 'our problem', so options like 'ask you DBA' isn't going to help me. :( Our server is set up with 3 plain databases (one is the main dev db, the other is the 'experimental' dev db). We use the Oracle 10 ojdbc14.jar thin JDBC driver (because of some bug in the version 9 of the driver). We're using Hibernate to talk to the DB. The only thing that I can see that changed is that we now have more users connecting to the server. Instead of one developer, we now have 3. With the Hibernate connection pools, I'm thinking that maybe we're hitting some limit? Anyone has any idea what's going on?   A more comprehensive phrased question since I lost access to the other one. I would ask that the other one be deleted, not this one, as it should not have been migrated in the first place. There are currently two NTFS drivers available for Linux. The NTFS driver included in the kernel, and the userspace NTFS-3G driver that makes use of FUSE. By all accounts, NTFS-3G works perfectly. My question then, is if the NTFS filesystem has been successfully reverse engineered, why have the kernel NTFS team not implemented the changes in their driver?   Is there any (possibly free or open-source) virtual WDM audio driver for Windows, with additional processing plugins, which would add one more layer between windows applications and actual sound card's WDM audio driver, allowing to: Add software DSPs to general audio output. I would like to be able to use custom effects, like compressor, or stereophonic-to-binaural converter for listening online's streaming media on headphones, etc. Connect its output to some custom buffer instead of the sound card. For example, to be able to record audio, or to send audio via wireless connection to some other wireless source? Virtual audio driver was just my idea how to solve these issues - if you know other way, please share your knowledge. I need this for Windows 7 and/or Windows XP.

  Greetings, I am currently plagued with BSODS on startup (both normal and safe mode) for my XP Pro. After much troubleshooting I have determined it is a driver problem. However, because I cannot even boot I do not know how to fix it. I am looking for some specific driver diagnostic and repair software that I can use from another computer to access and fix the driver problem on the problematic XP drive.   Vista crashed on my DELL XPS 1730 laptop. Again. I deleted the RAID array, created a new one and started to install Window 7 from DVD. During the initial phase of installation the setup pop ups this: Load Driver: A required CD/DVD device driver is missing... I can then insert other media to load the drivers, but it can't find any. I checked the DELL site for drivers but I can only find firmware for the drive. Which driver do I need, and where can I download it?

• Windows printing: printer works locally, but over network it can't find driver

  A friend has a Epson Stylus RX500 printer. She wants to share it between her WinXP desktop and her Win7 laptop. The printer is connected direct to her WinXP desktop, and she can print fine from there. But the Win7 laptop can't print -- it can see the shared printer on the network, but it can't find a driver for it. (And looking on the web, I don't see any Win7 drivers for it.) However, if I connect the printer directly to the Win7 laptop, it works, it can print. This suggests that there is a driver for it, but for some reason, it can't find a driver when connecting to the printer over the network. My question is: if a printer works when connected directly to the machine, should it still work over the local network?

  How do I handle driver problems associated with creating a new WIM file using a previously created image as a base? I am using a custom MDT image which installs Windows 7, Office 2010, etc which was created from a previously deployed base image of Windows 7 + SP 1 + updates. When the driver injection is enabled I receive a group of messages (collected from different logs, screens, etc). If I turn the preinstall driver injection off things work as expected. If I leave it on I receive the following messages. windows cannot install required files 0x80004005 8004004 non zero return code ltiapply rc=31 Unhandled error returned by LTIApply: a device attached to the system is not functioning. (-2147024865 0x8007001F)

  I have cpu with Pentium 4 3GHz processor. My motherboard is Intel 82865. I have installed the graphic driver for intel 82865 by using the graphic driver of Windows XP and changing the program's compatibility to Windows XP SP2. I got many thing ok with that. For example many resolutions and I can also play GTA. But what I want to know is why I cant view Aero and transparency effect in windows 7. It says contact the manufacturer for compbatible WDDM graphic driver.
